  • How to upgrade all dependencies to a specific version

    Hi, I tried doing a mvn dependency:tree and I get a tree of dependencies. My question is, My project depends on many modules which internally depends on many spring artifacts. There are a few version clashes. I want to upgrade all spring related libraries to say the latest one (2.6.x or above). What is the preferred way to do this? Should I declare all the deps spring-context, spring-support (and 10 other artifacts) in my pom.xml and point them to 2.6.x ? Is there any other better method ?   • Problems deploying MVC2 - Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.UrlParameter'

    Hi Everyone, I have problems deploying MVC2 application to my hosting. It shows the following error: Could not load type 'System.Web.Mvc.UrlParameter' from assembly 'System.Web.Mvc, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'. It looks like it does not understand the new "optional URL parameters" feature of MVC2. This is just a simple test application I created with "New Project" wizard in VWD 2008. It works ok localy both in IIS and Visual Studio web servers. MVC1 web sites are working ok on the hosting server. I've contacted the hosting support and they installed MVC2 but the problem still exists. The web site is working in ASP.NET 2.0 integrated pipeline mode. Does anyone know why it is happening?     So I have an MVC-application in Cocoa. There are some custom views, a controller and a model. Of course, the views need to know some stuff, so they get their data from the controller. However, they do not use accessors in the controller, they use KVC with a keypath that calls right through to the model: // In view.m time = [timeSource valueForKeyPath:@"theModel.currentTime"]; // timeSource is a pseudo-delegate of the view that holds the controller This simplifies things a great deal and technically, the views still don't know the model in person (that is, in pointer). But of course, they access it directly. Is that a usual (or at least sensible) usage of KVC and MVC? Or how would you implement this kind of communication?

  • Load Balancing using SQL Server and TempData MVC

    Hi all, I've been told that MVC 1.0 TempData does not work under a load balancer when using SQL Server and that it is because the Dictionary itself is not serializable. We require this for a project and are looking to be able load balancer effectively. So I would be very grateful if someone could answer the following questions: Is there away around this so you can make it work? Is this fixed in MVC 2.0? Can we create a ITempDataProvider to fix it? Do I need to convert this application to MVC if Web Forms is not supported? Will the same application run on Intranet as well?

  • Can't see or add Website Data Sources in RDLC report in ASP.NET MVC

    In the RDLC report, in Design view in Visual Studio 2008, we don't see anything in the Website Data Sources tab and the button to Add New Data Source is grayed out. Only the Refresh button is enabled, and clicking it doesn't do anything. Our business logic layer returns Lists of business objects and the business logic and business object projects are both referenced by the MVC project. This is an MVC app, so there is no App_Code folder. How do we get our business objects to appear in the Website Data Sources list so we can drag and drop fields from the object onto our RDLC report?

The samples listed in facebooksdk is based on MVC. i tried to implement it in my website, but getting errors. i am struck. If anyone implemented the facebook connect logic and retrieved the user information using facebook-c#-sdk, please help me how to do this. I tried the same using facebooktoolkit, and i am able to retrive the user info. but the toolkit is having issues with .net 4.0. Greatly appreciated your help.

    Hello, In classic MVC the model notifies the view about changes made on it. In C# this means I have to subclass the View I'm interested in and in the subclassed class register to the model's event. For example, if I were to implement MVC using C# and Winforms, I had to subclass TextBox class and then register inside the MyTextBox's constructor for the model events. Am I correct? How was this issued in Smalltalk? Does one also need to subclass every View in order to register the model's events, or is there some way to dynamically add events to the views on the fly? Thanks

  • I'm getting a "Does not implement IController" error on images and robots.txt in MVC2

    I'm getting a strange error on my webserver for seemingly every file but the .aspx files. Here is an example. Just replace '/robots.txt' with any .jpg name or .gif or whatever and you'll get the idea: The controller for path '/robots.txt' was not found or does not implement IController. I'm sure it's something to do with how I've setup routing but I'm not sure what exactly I need to do about it. Also, this is a mixed MVC and WebForms site, if that makes a difference.

  • Attempting to update multiple partial views from a single Ajax.ActionLink

    I have a a partial view which contains other partial views. I am trying to the main partial view ( "MainPartialView" ) from an Ajax.ActionLink in a partial view contained by the main partial view ( "DetailsView" ). Everything appears to be called just fine and I can step through and it executes all of the code on the pages. However, after that is all done it throws this error in a popup box in visual studio: htmlfile: Unknown runtime error This error puts the break point in the MicrosoftAjax.js file, Line 5, Col 83,632, Ch 83632. Any thoughts?
