  • Getting changes in one column of an historical table

    - by Javi
    Hello, I have a table which stores historical data. It's mapped to an Entity with the following fields (I use JPA with Hibernate implementation): @Entity @Table(name="items_historical") public class ItemHistory{ private Integer id; private Date date; @Enumerated(EnumType.ORDINAL) private StatusEnum status @ManyToOne(optional=false) private User user; @ManyToOne(optional=false) private Item item; } public enum StatusEnum { OK, BAD,...//my status } In every row I store historical data of another table. I need to get the list of the changes on "status" column: the status, the date and the previous status on a specified item (It would be good as well getting the status and date when status was changed). I don't know if this is possible by using HQL. Thanks.

  • jQuery Find Previous Table Row that has a Cell with a Specific Class

    - by Huy Tran
    Hello All, Suppose I have a table like so: <table> <tr><td class="this-is-a-label">Label Cell</td></tr> <tr><td>Detail 1</td></tr> <tr><td class="selected">Detail 2</td></tr> </table> I want to be able to grab the previous "Label Cell" from the "Selected" cell. My jQuery script should be something like: $('.selected').each(function() { var label = $(this).parent().prev('tr td.this-is-a-label'); //... do what I need with the label ... }); But it's not working. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

  • SQL Server PIVOT on key-value table

    - by Zenox
    I have a table that has attributes based on a key-value. Example: CREATE TABLE ObjectAttributes ( int objectId, key nvarchar(64), value nvarchar(512) ) When I select from this I get: objectId key value ---------------------------- 1 Key 1 Value 1 1 Key 2 Value 2 I was wondering if I could use the PIVOT syntax to turn this into: objectId Key 1 Key 2 --------------------------- 1 Value 1 Value 2 I know all of my tables will have the same keys. (Unfortunately I cannot easily change the table structure. This is what is leading me to attempt using PIVOTS). The big issue here though is that pivots require an aggression function to be used. Is there a way to avert this? Am I completely wrong attempting this? Or is there a better solution?

    - by gubbfett
    I'm having a small trouble since it was a long time ago i studies databases and querys. For example i'll have two tables for cd:s, one with data and one with alternative translations. In the CD-table i have the original language, and it looks something like this Table for CDs (cds): id | name | language ----------------------- 1 | aaa | en 2 | bbb | en 3 | ccc | fi Table for languages (languages): cd_id | language | name ----------------------- 1 | fi | AAA 1 | de | AAACHTUNG 3 | en | CCC Now, i want to get all these cd:s in for example german, if there's no translation made i want it to be in the original language... • Delete from empty table taking forver

    - by Will
    Hello, I have an empty table that previously had a large amount of rows. The table has about 10 columns and indexes on many of them, as well as indexes on multiple columns. DELETE FROM item WHERE 1=1 This takes approximately 40 seconds to complete SELECT * FROM item this takes 4 seconds. The execution plan of SELECT * FROM ITEM shows the following; SQL> select * from midas_item; no rows selected Elapsed: 00:00:04.29 Execution Plan ---------------------------------------------------------- 0 SELECT STATEMENT Optimizer=CHOOSE (Cost=19 Card=123 Bytes=73 80) 1 0 TABLE ACCESS (FULL) OF 'MIDAS_ITEM' (Cost=19 Card=123 Byte s=7380) Statistics ---------------------------------------------------------- 0 recursive calls 0 db block gets 5263 consistent gets 5252 physical reads 0 redo size 1030 bytes sent via SQL*Net to client 372 bytes received via SQL*Net from client 1 SQL*Net roundtrips to/from client 0 sorts (memory) 0 sorts (disk) 0 rows processed any idea why these would be taking so long and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated!!

  • building a hash lookup table during `git filter-branch` or `git-rebase`

    - by intuited
    I've been using the SHA1 hashes of my commits as references in documentation, etc. I've realized that if I need to rewrite those commits, I'll need to create a lookup table to correspond the hashes for the original repo with the hashes for the filtered repo. Since these are effectively UUID's, a simple lookup table would do. I think that it's relatively straightforward to write a script to do this during a filter-branch run; that's not really my question, though if there are some gotchas that make it complicated, I'd certainly like to hear about them. I'm really wondering if there are any tools that provide this functionality, or if there is some sort of convention on where to keep the lookup table/what to call it? I'd prefer not to do things in a completely idiosyncratic way.

  • Error 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server during query when executing CHECK TABLE FOR UPGRADE

    - by Dean Richardson
    I just upgraded Ubuntu from 11.10 to 12.04. My rails app now returns the (passenger) error "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (111) (Mysql2::Error)". I get a similar error when I try to access mysql at the command line on my Ubuntu server using mysql -u root -p. I have mysql-server 5.5 installed. I've checked and mysql is not running. When I try to restart it, it fails. Here are some key lines from the tail of /var/log/syslog after an attempted restart: dean@dgwjasonfried:/etc/mysql$ tail -f /var/log/syslog Mar 7 08:55:27 dgwjasonfried /etc/mysql/debian-start[5107]: Looking for 'mysqlcheck' as: /usr/bin/mysqlcheck Mar 7 08:55:27 dgwjasonfried /etc/mysql/debian-start[5107]: Running 'mysqlcheck' with connection arguments: '--port=3306' '--socket=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' '--host=localhost' '--socket=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' '--host=localhost' '--socket=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' Mar 7 08:55:27 dgwjasonfried /etc/mysql/debian-start[5107]: Running 'mysqlcheck' with connection arguments: '--port=3306' '--socket=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' '--host=localhost' '--socket=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' '--host=localhost' '--socket=/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' Mar 7 08:55:27 dgwjasonfried /etc/mysql/debian-start[5107]: /usr/bin/mysqlcheck: Got error: 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server during query when executing 'CHECK TABLE ... I reviewed the related questions here and attempted some of the fixes offered but to no avail. Thanks! Dean Richardson Update: Thanks to quanta's suggestion, I looked at the /var/log/mysql/error.log file. I found error messages relating to pointers, fatal signals, and more stuff that I really couldn't make much sense of. I also found mysql man page references, however. One suggested that I try starting mysqld with the --innodb_force_recovery=# option, then attempt to dump (or drop) the offending/corrupted database or table. I worked through the escalating option levels one-by-one (innodb_force_recovery=1, innodb_force_recovery=2, etc.) This allowed me to successfully run mysql -u root -p from the command line and execute several commands. I was able to run queries on my production database, but any attempt to query, dump, or even drop my development database raised an error and led to me losing the connection to mysql. So I've made progress, but until I'm somehow able to drop or repair my development db I'm still unable to get my app to load. Any further advice or suggestions? Thanks! Dean Update: Right after running sudo mysqld --innodb_force_recover=1 from the command line, the error.log contains this: Right after retrying sudo mysqld --innodb_force_recover=1, The error.log file shows this: 130308 4:55:39 [Note] Plugin 'FEDERATED' is disabled. 130308 4:55:39 InnoDB: The InnoDB memory heap is disabled 130308 4:55:39 InnoDB: Mutexes and rw_locks use GCC atomic builtins 130308 4:55:39 InnoDB: Compressed tables use zlib 1.2.3.4 130308 4:55:39 InnoDB: Initializing buffer pool, size = 128.0M 130308 4:55:39 InnoDB: Completed initialization of buffer pool 130308 4:55:39 InnoDB: highest supported file format is Barracuda. • Is it possible to build a webpage in Fireworks

    - by Lee Carlton
    I've been building a simple webpage in Fireworks that is very similar to one that we have on our website currently. I just want to make sure that before I go to far I will actually be able to upload this page online through an FTP client. I'm worried because it saves it as a .png file and I don't have a ton of experience with web design.

  • Is there a real code-free webpage design tool ?

    - by Sefler
    Recently I was doing web design. I found that the current web design tool (like Expression Web, Dreamweaver) is terribly coupled with code. Though I managed to use HTML, CSS and many others, I found those tool not free enough when came to design. What I want is a totaly code-free design tool with which I can use to draw the layout, paste pictures, add texts and so on. It doesn't need to have functionality to covert the design into code because I can do it myself. That is to say, I need the software to create a blueprint for me. I'm currently using Photoshop to do this. However it is too stupid in displying the layout (It can't show the width and many other attributes, I had to draw them by myself). Can you find one for me? Thanks in advance.

  • is there a tool that will let me take 'functional screenshots'?

    - by subpixel
    It's one thing to grab screenshots of web sites and return to them for design and interface ideas and inspiration. But increasingly I've found that when I want to examine something that previously caught my eye, the actual web site has since been altered, so I can no longer learn from the code. I wonder: is there a tool available that would allow me to save interfaces in a format that would retain the html/css? Thanks

  • Php template caching design

    - by Thomas
    Hello to all, I want to include caching in my app design. Caching templates for starters. The design I have used so far is very modular. I have created an ORM implementation for all my tables and each table is represented by the corresponding class. All the requests are handled by one controller which routes them to the appropriate webmethod functions. I am using a template class for handling UI parts. What I have in mind for caching includes the implementation of a separate Cache class for handling caching with the flexibility to either store in files, apc or memcache. Right now I am testing with file caching. Some thoughts Should I include the logic of checking for cached versions in the Template class or in the webmethods which handle the incoming requests and which eventually call the Template class. In the first case, things are pretty simple as I will not have to change anything more than pass the template class an extra argument (whether to load from cache or not). In the second case however, I am thinking of checking for a cached version immediately in the webmethod and if found return it. This will save all the processing done until the logic reaches the template (first case senario). Both senarios however, rely on an accurate mechanism of invalidating caches, which brings as to Invalidating caches As I see it (and you can add your input freely) a template cached file, becomes invalidate if: a. the expiration set, is reached. b. the template file itself is updated (ie by the developer when adding a new line) c. the webmethod that handles the request changes (ie the developer adds/deletes something in the code) d. content coming from the db and ending in the template file is modified I am thinking of storing a json encoded array inside the cached file. The first value will be the expiration timestamp of the cache. The second value will be the modification time of the php file with the code handling the request (to cope with option c above) The third will be the content itself The validation process I am considering, according to the above senarios, is: a. If the expiration of the cached file (stored in the array) is reached, delete the cache file b. if the cached file's mod time is smaller than the template's skeleton file mod time, delete the cached file c. if the mod time of the php file is greated than the one stored in the cache, delete the cached file. d. This is tricky. In the ORM implementation I ahve added event handlers (which fire when adding, updating, deleting objects). I could delete the cache file every time an object thatprovides content to the template, is modified. The problem is how to keep track which cached files correpond to each schema object. Take this example, a user has his shortprofile page and a full profile page (2 templates) These templates can be cached. Now, every time the user modifies his profile, the event handler would need to know which templates or cached files correspond to the User, so that these files can be deleted. I could store them in the db but I am looking for a beter approach

  • Normalizing Item Names & Synonyms

    - by RabidFire
    Consider an e-commerce application with multiple stores. Each store owner can edit the item catalog of his store. My current database schema is as follows: item_names: id | name | description | picture | common(BOOL) items: id | item_name_id | picture | price | description | picture item_synonyms: id | item_name_id | name | error(BOOL) Notes: error indicates a wrong spelling (eg. "Ericson"). description and picture of the item_names table are "globals" that can optionally be overridden by "local" description and picture fields of the items table (in case the store owner wants to supply a different picture for an item). common helps separate unique item names ("Jimmy Joe's Cheese Pizza" from "Cheese Pizza") I think the bright side of this schema is: Optimized searching & Handling Synonyms: I can query the item_names & item_synonyms tables using name LIKE %QUERY% and obtain the list of item_name_ids that need to be joined with the items table. (Examples of synonyms: "Sony Ericsson", "Sony Ericson", "X10", "X 10") Autocompletion: Again, a simple query to the item_names table. I can avoid the usage of DISTINCT and it minimizes number of variations ("Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10", "Sony Ericsson - Xperia X10", "Xperia X10, Sony Ericsson") The down side would be: Overhead: When inserting an item, I query item_names to see if this name already exists. If not, I create a new entry. When deleting an item, I count the number of entries with the same name. If this is the only item with that name, I delete the entry from the item_names table (just to keep things clean; accounts for possible erroneous submissions). And updating is the combination of both. Weird Item Names: Store owners sometimes use sentences like "Harry Potter 1, 2 Books + CDs + Magic Hat". There's something off about having so much overhead to accommodate cases like this. This would perhaps be the prime reason I'm tempted to go for a schema like this: items: id | name | picture | price | description | picture (... with item_names and item_synonyms as utility tables that I could query) Is there a better schema you would suggested? Should item names be normalized for autocomplete? Is this probably what Facebook does for "School", "City" entries? Is the first schema or the second better/optimal for search? Thanks in advance! • How do I design this link table?

    - by Soo
    Ok SO, I have a user table and want to define groups of users together. The best solution I have for this is to create three database tables as follows: UserTable user_id user_name UserGroupLink group_id member_id GroupInfo group_id group_name This method keeps the member and group information separate. This is just my way of thinking. Is there a better way to do this? Also, what is a good naming convention for tables that link two other tables?

  • rendering a grid from a table: "this.mainBody is undefined"

    - by farhad
    Hello! I have a static html table on a page and i would like to transform it to a grid; so i applied this function after loading the table: function createTable() { // create the grid var grid = new Ext.ux.grid.TableGrid("tabella-colocazioni", { stripeRows: true // stripe alternate rows }); grid.render(); } I got this piece of code from here: http://www.java2s.com/Code/JavaScript/Ext-JS/CreateagridwithfromanexistingunformattedHTMLtable.htm . The result is the error "this.mainBody is undefined on ext-all-debug.js" on FireBug and the grid is empty. The html code of the table is this: <table cellspacing="0" id="tabella-colocazioni"> <thead> <tr style="background:#eeeeee;"> <th>Colocazione</th> <th>Frequenza</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr> <td>plusquam patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria pietate</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Et patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria prohibet</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>Multos patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria reddidit</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patronum patria</td> <td>1</td> </tr> <tr> <td>patria moesta</td> <td>1</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> What is the problem? Thank you very much.

    I'm attempting to extract the following data from a table via Android / JSOUP however I'm having a bit of trouble nailing down the process. I think I'm getting close to being able to do this using the code I've provided below - but for some reason I still cannot get my textview to display any of the table data. P.S. Live URL's can be provided if necessary. SOURCE: public class MainActivity extends Activity { TextView tv; final String URL = "http://exampleurl.com"; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.activity_main); tv = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.TextView01); new MyTask().execute(URL); } private class MyTask extends AsyncTask<String, Void, String> { ProgressDialog prog; String title = ""; @Override protected void onPreExecute() { prog = new ProgressDialog(MainActivity.this); prog.setMessage("Loading...."); prog.show(); } @Override protected String doInBackground(String... params) { try { Document doc = Jsoup.connect(params[0]).get(); Element tableElement = doc.getElementsByClass("datagrid") .first(); title = doc.title(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return title; } @Override protected void onPostExecute(String result) { super.onPostExecute(result); prog.dismiss(); tv.setText(result); } } } TABLE: <table class="datagrid"> <tbody><tr> <th>Item No.</th> <th>Name</th> <th>Sex</th> <th>Location</th> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="redirector.cfm?ID=a33660a3-aae0-45e3-9703-d59d77717836&amp;page=1&amp;&amp;lname=&amp;fname=" title="501207593">501207593&nbsp;</a></td> <td>USER1</td> <td>M&nbsp;</td> <td>Unknown</td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="redirector.cfm?ID=edf524da-8598-450f-9373-da87db8d6c84&amp;page=1&amp;&amp;lname=&amp;fname=" title="501302750">501302750&nbsp;</a></td> <td>USER2</td> <td>M&nbsp;</td> <td>Unknown</td> </tr> <tr> <td><a href="redirector.cfm?ID=a78abeea-7651-4ac1-bba2-0dcb272c8b77&amp;page=1&amp;&amp;lname=&amp;fname=" title="531201804">531201804&nbsp;</a></td> <td>USER3</td> <td>M&nbsp;</td> <td>Unknown</td> </tr> </tbody></table>

  • Delete one row in html table marqued by a check box with javascript

    - by kawtousse
    Hi everyone, I build dynamically my HTML table from database like that: for(i=0;i< nomCols.length;i++) { retour.append(("<td bgcolor=#0066CC>")+ nomCols[i] + "</td>"); } retour.append("</tr>"); retour.append("<tr>"); try { s= HibernateUtil.currentSession(); tx=s.beginTransaction(); Query query = s.createQuery(HQL_QUERY); // inner join projecttasks.ProjectTypeCode as projects");// inner join projecttasks.taskCode as task inner join projects.projectCode as wa;"); for(Iterator it=query.iterate();it.hasNext();) { if(it.hasNext()){ Dailytimesheet object=(Dailytimesheet)it.next(); retour.append("<td><input type=checkbox name=cb id=cb /> </td>"); retour.append("<td>" +object.getTrackingDate() + "</td>"); retour.append("<td>" +object.getActivity() + "</td>"); retour.append("<td>" +object.getProjectCode() + "</td>"); retour.append("<td>" +object.getWAName() + "</td>"); retour.append("<td>" +object.getTaskCode() +"</td>"); retour.append("<td>" +object.getTimeSpent() + "</td>"); retour.append("<td>" +object.getPercentTaskComplete() + "</td>"); } retour.append("</tr>"); } //terminer la table. retour.append (""); tx.commit(); } catch (HibernateException e) { retour.append ("</table><H1>ERREUR:</H1>" +e.getMessage()); e.printStackTrace(); } return retour; } so I want that all check boxes having the same id. When trying to delete one row in my table witch have the check box checked i found a problem with that. Iam using simple javascript like this: function DeleteARow() { //var Rows = document.getElementById('sheet').getElementsByTagName('tr'); //var RowsCount = Rows.length; //alert('Your table has ' + RowsCount + ' rows.'); if (document.getElementById('cb').checked==true) { document.getElementById('cb').parentNode('td').parentNode('tr').remove(); }} It doesn't work approperly and only the first row have the id 'cb'. Many thanks for your help.

  • alternative to visibility:collapse not working on IE and Chrome

    - by tic
    The following page: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <STYLE type="text/css"> tr.cccc { visibility: collapse; } </STYLE> <BODY> <TABLE border="1"> <TR class="cccc"> <TD>one</TD> </TR> </TABLE> </BODY> </HTML> works only in Firefox. IE always displays the row, and Chrome hides the row but showing its vertical space. So, how can I hide completely a row using only CSS? Thanks.

  • Delphi 2010 Datasnap - Design Query

    - by Matt
    I am investigating moving a thick client SQL based Delphi application to Multi Tier thin clients, and have been looking at using Datasnap in Delphi 2010. I have worked through the White Paper written by Bob Swart and extended this further. My main question really is that I want to make the server side efficient in terms of connections and SQL Queries due to multiple queries being run and remaining open at the same time to interrogate data, can anyone point me in a direction for guidance on how to design a real world Datasnap Server application, as the demo's don't go into enough detail. Thanks Matt

  • Designing a game database

    - by Ronald
    I'm trying to design a database to record game histories for a game I'm working on. I have 3 different tables: users, gamehistories, and gamescores. Columns for tables: users: uid, displayname, email gamehistories: gid, pubID, start (datetime), end (datetime) gamescores: gid, uid, score I am trying to produce the following result set given a userID (uid): Opponent's displayname, my score, opponent's score, duration Any ideas? Is my design ok? How can I query these tables to get game histories for a given uid?

  • Git & Web-design: handling multiple customized templates

    - by o_O Tync
    I'm developing a CMS (with Django, but that doesn't matter) and have chosen GIT. Installations will vary in: Configs Database contents Media Templates First 3 are not a problem with git: we simply don't need these :) While developing, I have 1 default template with related media. Later, each customer will receive his own design based on default templates (some slight customization). I'm not going to support each of the custom templates as I introduce new features. Modularity helps with this but is not a 100% solution. Do you have any experience to share?

  • Adding Columns to JTable dynamically

    - by martilyo
    I have an empty JTable, absolutely nothing in it. I need to dynamically generate its table columns in a certain way. A simplified version for the code I have for my attempt: @Action public void AddCol() { for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { TableColumn c = new TableColumn(i); c.setHeaderValue(getColNam(i)); table.getColumnModel().addColumn(c); } } But I'm getting an Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 0 >= 0 error. What am I doing wrong?

  • 'schema' design for a social network

    - by Alan B
    I'm working on a proof of concept app for a twitter style social network with about 500k users. I'm unsure of how best to design the 'schema' should I embed a user's subscriptions or have a separate 'subscriptions' collection and use db references? If I embed, I still have to perform a query to get all of a user's followers. e.g. Given the following user: { "username" : "alan", "photo": "123.jpg", "subscriptions" : [ {"username" : "john", "status" : "accepted"}, {"username" : "paul", "status" : "pending"} ] } to find all of alan's subscribers, I'd have to run something like this: db.users.find({'subscriptions.username' : 'alan'}); from a performance point of view, is that any worse or better than having a separate subscriptions collection? also, when displaying a list of subscriptions/subscribers, I am currently having problems with n+1 because the subscription document tells me the username of the target user but not other attributes I may need such as the profile photo. Are there any recommended practices for such situations? thanks Alan
