Analyst Merv Adrian looks at some of the main issues that IT professionals have solved as they assess or deploy the Oracle Exadata solution, including: OLTP and DSS workload support workload consolidation increasing performance and scalability demands data compression improvements  Gartner reports clients using Oracle Exadata experienced the following: report significant performance improvements substantial amounts of cache memory which greatly improves processing speed Oracle Advanced Compression providing 2-4X data compression delivering significant reductions in storage requirements and driving shorter times for backup operations Tables compressed with Oracle Advanced Compression automatically recompress as data is added/updated.   • A strong component keeps everything together

    Most of the times you implement a WebCenter Content based system, you require some sort of customization. Sometimes these customizations need a Java class or two, or libraries (for example, the JavaMail API), or Database Objects (like new tables, views, indexes, etc). I have seen that libraries and Database Objects are usually put in place using manual steps. This means that the library jar files are copied to one of the common classes directory (set in the Content CLASSPATH variable) and/or the database scripts are executed manually. I have also seen people place the custom Java classes in the common classes directory. While this may seem like an easy solution, think about a scenario where you need to disable or uninstall the component or if you have to upgrade or migrate the system. You have to keep these manual steps documented and execute them every time you encounter the above scenarios. It is very common that some of these manual steps are missed when you have multiple teams and people working on the system. Here are a few points to ponder upon: Place all your custom Java classes within your component. Create a new directory, say ${COMPONENT_DIR}/classes, and place your code there. You can choose to bundle all your classes into a jar or you can place the entire class directory structure. Add a path entry to the Build Settings so that it is bundled with the component when you build it. You also need to update the Custom Class Path and the Custom Class Path Load Order under the Advanced Build Settings. This will ensure that the system CLASSPATH is updated to add this new directory. Create a new component for any new library that you want to add. Add the appropriate path entries to the Build Settings so that it is bundled with the component when you build it. You also need to update the Custom Class Path, Custom Class Path Load Order and/or the Custom Library Path under the Advanced Build Settings. Enter a comma separated list of features that this component will provide. When you create other components that will use the features exposed by this component, make sure that you specify a dependency to this library component by specifying the comma separated list of features in the Advanced Build Settings. The component wizard allows you to create custom install/uninstall Java code. The wizard will create a install filter class when you check the “Has Install” checkbox on the “Install/Uninstall Settings” tab. Consider using this filter class to create database objects when you install the component and drop the objects when you uninstall the component. If you do a lot of custom component development, consider creating a install/uninstall Java class, which can execute queries defined within the component. To sum up, whenever you write a new custom component, make sure that you bundle everything within the component.

It represents the entire history of your organization and its interactions with your customers.  Predictive analytics leverages data to discover patterns, relationships and to help you even make informed predictions.   Oracle Data Mining (ODM) automatically discovers relationships hidden in data.  Predictive models and insights discovered with ODM address business problems such as:  predicting customer behavior, detecting fraud, analyzing market baskets, profiling and loyalty.  Oracle Data Mining, part of the Oracle Advanced Analytics (OAA) Option to the Oracle Database EE, embeds 12 high performance data mining algorithms in the SQL kernel of the Oracle Database. This eliminates data movement, delivers scalability and maintains security.  But, how do you find these very important needles or possibly fraudulent transactions and huge haystacks of data?     I have an iPhone app for a forum which also has a limited Google Analytics reporting. This app reports the page views in following generic form: /forum/67 /thread/29036 etc... The numbers above represent forum and thread ID's I am trying to set an Advanced filter, which will rewrite/report the page views in Google Analytics in following form: http://www.mysite.com/forum-67.html http://www.mysite.com/thread-29036.html Can someone please assist me in creating an Advanced Google Analytics filter which will enable me to see URL's so they can be live and send to correct page. Is there another method to achieve what I'm looking for ? Obviously there will be a need for some RegExp matches, but I cannot get around it.

  • How to advance in my JavaScript skills? [closed]

    I am using javascript for about two years now, and I feel that I can do really basic stuff. I can make some basic algorithms and mostly use jQuery for interactive elements on webpages, and as I need to do more advanced things I get the feeling that my knowledge is lacking. In most cases I find a code, it takes me quite some time to understand it, but I don't understand why it is written as it is. I have no background in computer science, so I'm not sure weather I should go to the basics, or get some advanced javascript book/course. How can I make that jump from using JS for scripting to become a real programmer?

  • Unknown error XNA cannot detect importer for "program.cs"

    I am not too sure what I have done to cause this, but even after undoing all my edits, this error still appears Error 1 Cannot autodetect which importer to use for "Program.cs". There are no importers which handle this file type. Specify the importer that handles this file type in your project.   • Why doesn't 12.04 recognize my ATI Radeon X300SE graphics card?

    So far everything including the BCM4321 card is working, however, the OEM ATI Radeon X300SE (RV370) is not recognized. When I go into system details the card comes up as unknown. When I run lspci the card shows up as: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV370 5B60 [Radeon X300 (PCIE)] 01:00.1 Display controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV370 [Radeon X300SE] I have attempted check Additional Drivers but the card does not show up as needing a driver. So far this is causing the system to run warmer as the processor is doing a bit of the work to run Unity and any full screen videos tend to be rather choppy. Is there an available driver that will fix my issue and what is the install method? I am not scared to run a terminal so no worries there, as long as I have instructions, I can find my way. I am running under 12.04 LTS Kernel 3.2.0-25-generic-pae

    I am trying to replicate the same horizon (buildings and sky) as in the image below: As you can see, the player has advanced in a straight line, yet the horizon has still the same size: This is my attempt using 3D, while it's okay when the player is on the start line: It's not so great when the player advanced as much as in the image no. 2: This is an overview of where the horizon buildings and sky are located: Obviously this won't achieve such effect when one is close to it, so I've tried to scale up the horizon on all axes but the problem is that the buildings are too small depending where you look at them from. How can one mimic such rendering ?

  • Recommended Reading for Polishing JavaScript coding style?

    I've been coding in JavaScript for a while now and am fairly familiar with some of the more advanced coding features of the language (closures, self-executing functions, etc). So my question is, what advanced books/blogs/or anything else would be recommended to help tighten up my coding style? For example, recently I was coding something similar to: var x = ['a', 'b', 'c']; var exists = false; for(var i = 0; i < x.length; i++){ exists = x[i] === 'b' ? true : exists; } But found that the following condensed code would work better: var y = {'a':'', 'b':'', 'c':''}; var exists = 'b' in y; Both store the same value in 'exists', but the second is less common, but much cleaner. Any suggestions for where I should go to learn more tricks like this?

    Problem: When debugging asp.net by attaching w3wp.exe process, you often will see encounter the following error message, the web server process that was being debugged has been terminated by IIS. Analysis: This caused Internet Information Services (IIS) to assume that the worker process had stopped responding. Therefore, IIS terminated the worker process. Solution: 1. Open IIS manager. 2.Click application Pools>>select the application pool associated with the site>>and click Advanced Settings 3. Click Advanced Settings of the application pool and set the Ping Enabled property from True to False. Now, reattach the process from Visual Studio, you should not get the error message.     Hi Everyone, As we move the Java EE6 exams from beta to production, you may notice that we have made a slight change in the branding. Instead of being branded Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), these new credentials are now branded Oracle Certified Expert (OCE). One area where we use the Expert brand is for credentials where the technology is advanced or broader than the path based credential requires. Some are high-end add-on certifications, and others have significant additional technological breadth. In these cases, the Expert brand is an indication that someone is tested in more advanced or in-depth skills - beyond the traditional path-based certification. A few examples are RAC Expert for DBAs, or SQL Expert - also for DBAs.   • Unable to mount location, Can't mount file

    I'm a new user to Ubuntu and I have a problem: I had Windows XP in my computer and I had two partitions: C (for system data) and D(for my personal stuff), then, during the Ubuntu installation I chose the Advanced Settings and formated C partition and left D partition intact, went back and chose Install Ubuntu and replace Windows and it installed fine. The problem is that now I open Nautilus and go to Computer, in there it shows my D partition, 640 Hard Disk, but when I try to mount it displays me a message: "Unable to mount location. Can't mount file". I ask you to explain me step-by-step what I need to do because I'm not an advanced user. My computer specs: 2 GiB RAM, Proccesor Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5400 @ 2.70GHz × 2, Graphics Unknow (It's Nvidia GeForce 220 {1GB} or something), OS type 32-bit, Disk 628.0 GB P.S.: My HDD is internal, I'm not using external Hard Drives.     I'm trying to get vga_switcheroo to enable my integrated Intel HD 3000 instead of my ATI card.   • USC gives "failed to download package files" message - how to fix?

    Trying to download a program (Advanced Settings aka Gnome Tweak tool) from USC and getting this error "Failed to Download Package Files: check your internet connection". Under details is info: Failed to fetch http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/n/network-manager/gir1.2-networkmanager-1.0_0.9.1.90-0ubuntu4_i386.deb 404 Not Found Question: how to fix? Note: I tried downloading another program from USC (GnuCash) and it worked fine. And my internet connect is working fine (able to surf the web, etc) and Ubuntu is fully up to date and is able to download updates. It seems to be a problem just getting the "Advanced Settings" program. (Ubuntu 11.10).

  • 3D Mesh Collision Help

    I am new to XNA (I have only been working in it for a countable number of weeks) as well as to these forums (I have only made 1-2 other posts), so this may seem like a strange request, but I am wondering if anybody knows about more advanced collision in XNA. So far I have only been able to figure out BoundingSphere's which seem to be the simplest of the methods, and I was thinking of looking more into BoundingBoxes because the game I have is a 2-3D platformer. The problem I realized was that if I wanted to get any more advanced than stages in the shape of a box, I would face some immediate dilemmas. I was hoping somebody here was knowledgeable on the subject and could inform me where I could get started learning how to do something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekMD_Gtt8d4 Although the game in this video isn't very pretty, the mesh collision looks like what I'm looking for. I am hoping for the most complete solution, if possible.
