  • jQuery Selector issue finding href with text category1 in it

    i have a set of hyperlinks with href = javascript:method('category1') and likewise category2 category3 ... I want to select hyperlink with href containing category1 so i have written jQuery(a[href*='category1']) but dont know why it also selects hyperlinks with category10 category11 category12 ... also I understand that category1 is common in all of them but 'category1' should'nt be do i need to put ' with escape charaters.

    I've got a button that has an onclick event in it, which was set on the back end from .NET. Beside it is a checkbox <button class="img_button" onclick="if(buttonLoader(this)){WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions('uxBtnRelease', '', true, '', 'somepage.aspx?oupid=5&fp=true', false, true))} return false;" type="button">Release</button> <input type="checkbox" checked="checked" id="myCheckbox"> When the checkbox is clicked, needs to change the value of the query string in the URL inside the onclick function of the button. So far I have this, and the idea is right, but I keep getting errors when it's run: "Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ILLEGAL" var defaultReleaseOnClick=null; $("#myCheckbox").click(function(){ var $releaseBtn = $(".img_button"); if(defaultReleaseOnClick==null) defaultReleaseOnClick=$releaseBtn.attr("onclick"); var newOnClickString = defaultReleaseOnClick.toString().replace(/&fp=[a-z]+'/i,"&fp="+this.checked); $releaseBtn.removeAttr("onclick").click(eval(newOnClickString)); }); I know it seems kinda hacky to convert the function to a string, do a replacement, and then try to convert it back to a function, but I don't know any other way to do it. When I use that method to validated that the user input at least one from 3 input text boxes. It validates the field, but the other items to be validated is ignored specially the items before 3 input text boxes.

    I'm having a hell of a time trying to get (what I thought was) a simple index from a collection of multiple sliders. This includes any ID values and, for whatever reason, I can't get the index for a given slider to surface either. So I'm running out of ideas.

When click on Heading 2, heading2 submenu menu is expanded and heading 1 submenu is closed. I need to rework it to this: Submenus must be closed automatically on mouseout. Can somebody help me? PS/2 Generic Mouse id=13 [slave pointer (2)] This is really strange because Dell is one of the top manufacturers in laptops and Ubuntu one of the top distros in Linux and Canonical claims that they are working closely with Dell.

    Hi, I have 2 scripts working ok separately but can't get them working together - What I'm after is expanding menus where if the items exceed 10 a 'more' link appears that expands the list, which can also then be hidden. http://www.brianfitzer.ie/test2/ expanding menu is file test12.html toggle+limit: toggle is file test13.html (I have these working separately) And then I need this to be able to be applied in multiple instances as I'll have multiple categories. Any help would be grand :)

    SO Question: jQuery Validate - require at least one field in a group to be filled I uses the sample rule from the above link and it works, but the problem was it overrides the fields that going to be validated it jumps directly to the group validation, when validates a form the messages in my error container only contains error for the group fields.
