Other considerations is that 1 product can have some pieces and 1 product can be a piece. Price product equal a sum of quantity * price of all their pieces. I need update the price of the main product when the price of the product child (piece) is changed. Following the previous example, if I change the price of this product "memory" (is a piece too) to 60€, then product "Computer" will must change his price to 320€ How I can do it using queries? Already I have tried this to obtain the price of the main product, but not runs. • What is the best way of doing this? (WCF 4)

  I have a multith-threaded, continusly running application that connects with multiple devices via TCP/IP sockets and exposes a set of WCF API's for controlling, monitoring and reporting on these devices. I would like to host this on IIS for the ususal reasons of not having to worry about re-starting the app in case of errors. So the issue I have is the main application running in parallel with the WCF Servies. To accomplish this I use the static AppInitialize class to start a thread which has the main applicaiton loop. The WCF services mostly report or control the shared objects with this thread. There are two problems that I see with this approach. One is that if the thread dies, IIS has no clue to re-start it so I have to play some tricks with some WCF calls. The other is that the backrgound thread deals with potentially thousands of devices that are connected permanently (typically a thread per socket connection). So I am not sure if IIS is buying me anything in this case. Another approach that I am thinking is to use WF for the main application that deals with the sockets and host both the WF and my WCF services in IIS using AppFabric. Since I have not use WF or AppFabric I am reaching out to see if this would be good approach or there are better alternative.

I'm looking forward using the "google-api-translate-java" library. In which there is a Language class. It's an enum allowing to provide the language name and to get it's value for Google Translate. I can easily get all the values with : for (Language l : values()) { // Here I loop on one value } But what I'd want to get is a list of all the keys names (FRENCH, ENGLISH, ...). Is there something like a "keys()" method that'd allow me to loop through all the enum's keys ?

  Hi, I am creating an application which requires login. I created the main and the login activity. Does anyone know how to set the variable global in order to avoid login form appearing after the user already successfully authenticates? Thanks!

• C As Principal Class For Mac App

  So, I've got a c file raring to go and be the main class behind an all-C mac-app, however, a combination of limiting factors are preventing the application from being launched. As it currently stands, the project is just a main.m and a class called AppDelegate.c, so I entered "AppDelegate" as the name of the principal class in the info.plist, and to my complete surprise, the log printed: Unable to find class: AppDelegate, exiting This would work perfectly well in iOS, because the main function accepts the name of a delegate class, and handles it automatically, but NSApplicationMain() takes no such argument. Now, I know this stems from the fact that there are no @interface/@implementation directives in C, and that's really what the OS seems to be looking for, so I wrote a simple NSApplication subclass and provided it as the Principal Class to the plist, and it launched perfectly well. My question is, how could one go about setting a c file as the principal class in a mac application and have it launch correctly? PS, don't ask what or why I'm doing this for, the foundation must be dug. • MySql returning multiple rows from stored procedure / function

  Hi, I need to make a stored procedure or function that returns a set of rows. I've noted that in a stored procedure i can SELECT * FROM table with success. If i fetch rows in a loop and SELECT something, something_other FROM table once per loop execution, I only get one single result. What I need to do is looping, doing some calculations and returning a rowset. What's the best way to do this? A temporary table? Stored functions? Any help appreciated.

  I am playing sounds in loop in my app. So it should continue playing through out the app. but sometimes it stops after playing sound for 3/4 times.I don't understand whats happening. I am using audio-toolbox framework for playing sound. creating audio queue and then playing sounds in loop. I am also playing sound from ipod library using mediaplayer. Same thing happening with song from ipod. I have set [musicPlayer setRepeatMode: MPMusicRepeatModeOne]; but still it stops after 3/4 times.

  I am using PrepareStatement and BatchUpdate for executimg a UPDATE query. In for loop I create a Batch. At end of loop I execute batch. Above logic works fine if SQL query used in PrepareStatement does not have null values in WHERE claues. Update Statement fails if there is null value in WHERE clasue.   Hi, I was looking at some of the examples from the Deitel and Deitel's book for Programming in Java, and one of the first examples is a very simple Swing display. Hence this snippet of code : import javax.swing.*; public class cdea { public static void main(String args[]){ JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null,"\"Welcome to Java Programming!\""); System.exit(0); //end method main } } I read some stuff regarding how one can get native UI look and feel by using UIManager.setLookAndFeel( UIManager.getSystemLookAndFeelClassName()); to the program. However, when I just add this to my main method, it gives me a host of errors. Specifically : Multiple markers at this line - Unhandled exception type IllegalAccessException - Unhandled exception type InstantiationException - Unhandled exception type ClassNotFoundException - Unhandled exception type UnsupportedLookAndFeelException However when I use it as part of a try/catch exception loop (is that what it is called?) as detailed on http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1590863/getting-java-applications-to-look-native-on-windows-how , I get the program running properly. Could anyone tell me in simple language why this is so? As in, why can't I directly get the System look and feel; why do I have to use it with exception handling? I'm new to Java, and OOP in general, so I'm sorry if I'm being too simplistic.

• Released object crashes app

  I am using objective-C++ (+Boost) for iPhone development. I am in a rather tight loop and need to allocate and release a certain object. The code is something like this. for (int i=0;i<100;i++) { opt = [[FObj alloc] init]; //do stuff with opt [opt release]; } The FObj object is something like @interface FObj MyCPPObj * cppobj; @end In the implementation of FObj there is a dealloc method: -(void) dealloc { delete cppobj; //previously allocated with 'new' [super dealloc]; } I am afraid that if i don't release then the 'MyCPPObj's will just pile up. But releasing makes the app crash after the first loop. What am I doing wrong? Or perhaps should I make cppobj and boost::shared_ptr? (do boost shared pointers automatically release their objects when an objective-C++ object is deleted?)

• MVC design pattern in complex iPad app: is one fat controller acceptable?

  I am building a complex iPad application; think of it as a scrapbook. For the purpose of this question, let's consider a page with two images over it. My main view displays my doc data rendered as a single UIImage; this because I need to do some global manipulation over them. This is my DisplayView. When editing I need to instantiate an EditorView with my two images as subviews; this way I can interact with a single image, (rotate it, scale it, move it). When editing is triggered, I hide my DisplayView and show my EditorView. In a iPhone app, I'd associate each main view (that is, a view filling the screen) to a view controller. The problem is here there is just one view controller; I've considered passing the EditorView via a modal view controller, but it's not an option (there a complex layout with a mask covering everything and palettes over it; rebuilding it in the EditorView would create duplicate code). Presently the EditorView incorporates some logic (loads data from the model, invokes some subviews for fine editing, saves data back to the model); EditorView subviews also incorporate some logic (I manipulate images and pass them back to the main EditorView). I feel this logic belongs more to a controller. On the other hand, I am not sure making my only view controller so fat a good idea. What is the best, cocoa-ish implementation of such a class structure? Feel free to ask for clarifications. Cheers.

Whilst expecting emptyness, the next Object is added to the old array. when I use removeAllObjects, my Array is emptied and so is the array attached to myArray. Where am I going in the wrong direction?

However, I am not sure why I am getting different behavior in Java and C#.
