  • Triple Boot?? Windows 7, Windows 7 and Ubuntu??

    Hello, currently I have dual boot with 2 windows 7. (dont ask why, long story, I need them for each with different settings involving Audio Recording) I am very keen to install the new Ubuntu and get into a new OS, out of interest but I don't want to mess with my current 2 windows installations? If I install Ubuntu, will this simply add to my list of OS boot options when you set it, like I did when I install my 2nd Windows 7 Any comments or help would be great? Thanks Bill

    Hello, I have this code in my .htaccess: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^(.*)\+apple\+fruit/$ ?q=$1 [L] this turns the searchquery in /keyword+apple+fruit/ thats ok.. the only problem is, if I type in /keyword+apple+fruit +any+text+haha+ apple+fruit/ the htacces is showing content - but I don't want that. is there any command to say - ok apple + fruit only one time in the url and the second time send a 404 or show nothing.. thank you!!

Atm our pages come in pdf format so we need a way to export text and images from the pdf so that they can be added to a database. We've had a look at the News studio plugin for Adobe Acrobat from Iceni Technology, but just wondering if anyone else knows other options for exporting pdf data. thanks

    According to the MSDN, you can specify an access type parameter to InternetOpen. Two of the options for the dwAccessType parameter are: INTERNET_OPEN_TYPE_DIRECT - Resolves all host names locally. INTERNET_OPEN_TYPE_PRECONFIG - Retrieves the proxy or direct configuration from the registry. Which of these should I use? I don't know which would be "better". We don't want our application to do anything clever, all we want it to do is access the internet in a normal way.

    Right now I have a very high volume of requests coming to my webserver which execute a PHP CGI script. Every one of these scripts opens up a config file that I have created to load options of how the script should run. Doing a file I/O operation everytime a request comes in seems very resource intensive to me.     Hi, I am writing an Android app, part of which will be a survey involving multiple pages of checkbox question and answers. I have created an activity to display the question and options (from the DB) and what I want to do now is when i press the "Next" button it should just reload the current activity with the next question set from the database. (the activity starts with survey.getNextQuestion() - so its just a case of refreshing the activity so it updates) Im sure this is a simple thing to do -any ideas? Thanks

    I realize that Visual Studio has the "/P" option to generate preprocessed files, but it's extremely inconvenient. I'm looking for an addin that allows you to right-click on a file and select "view preprocessed" - or any similar solution that would basically preprocess the currently-open file (with the appropriate options from the current configuration) and show me the output, with no extra hassle. Does such a thing exist?

    As I understand it, when using F#, you have to manually list the source files in dependency order for the compiler's benefit (if there is any way around that, please let me know!) Listing them on the command line from left to right obviously isn't going to scale. Is there a way to at least make it accept the list of files in a text file, one per line, preferably with the ability to put in blank lines and comments? I've checked the compiler options, and I don't see anything that looks promising.

    Google Maps newbie (GIS newbie), I'm looking at a solution to map an overlay (number of polygons) on-top of Google maps and wondered if using a KML file was a viable solution? Basically, I have a number of address (address data) that I will pass to our internal GIS system, the GIS system hands me back a KML file (one file with a number of different locations) and then I draw the polygon using the KML Layering options: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/layers Sound like a viable solution?
