jQuery - Cancel form submit (using "return false"?)?

Hey there. I'm running into a bit of trouble while trying to cancel the submit of a form. I've been following this tutorial (even though i'm not making a login script), and it seems to be working for him. Here's my form: <form action="index.php" method="post" name="pForm"> <textarea name="comment" onclick="if(this.value == 'skriv här...') this.value='';" onblur="if(this.value.length == 0) this.value='skriv här...';">skriv här...</textarea> <input class="submit" type="submit" value="Publicera!" name="submit" /> </form> And here's the jquery: $(document).ready(function() { $('form[name=pForm]').submit(function(){ return false; }); }); I've already imported jQuery in the header and i know it's working. My first thought was that it might be outdated, but it's actually "just" a year ago. So do anyone see what's wrong? Thanks in advance. EDIT: From what i've read the easiest and most appropriate way to abort the submit is to return false? But i can't seem to get it working. I've searched the forum and i've found several helpful threads but none of them actually works. I must be screwing something up.

String Array and ConvertTo-HTML

I cant for the life of me get the contents of a string array (well its not strictly typed but all the items in the array are strings) to become a table, i am trying to use ConvertTo-HTML. For example: $arr = @("One", "Two") $arr | ConvertTo-HTML I have tried -As List, using fragments, even using InputObject, is it even possible ? Edit: i simply want to know if there is anyway to use an array as the input for the ConvertTo-HTML cmdlet, all it does is make a table with the length property of the strings.

Form doesn't resize smoothly with a timer event

I have a grid control at the bottom of my form and it can be shown or hidden if user wants to show/hide it. So one way was to well use AutoSize of the form and change the Visuble property of that grid to true or false,... But I thought let's make it a little cooler! so I wanted the form to resize a little more slowly, like a garage door! So I dropped a Timer on the form and started increasing the height of the form little by little while the timer ticks... so something like this when user says show/hide the grid: timer1.Enabled = true; timer1.Start(); and something like this on the timer_click event: this.Height = this.Height + 5; if(this.Height -10 > ErrorsGrid.Bottom ) timer1.Stop(); It kind of works but still not perfect. For example it lags at the very beginning, stop a like a second and then start moving it...So now with this idea in mind what alterations do you suggest I should do to make this thing look and work better?

I can work round this by adding a click event etc but I want to fix the issue without extra tape! I am new to objective c programming. I am currently trying to insert data into mysql database. I have read a couple links on this and could not find the exact answer I am looking for. Here is what I am trying to do: I have my app that user inputs a name in a text field and once the press the add button, it makes a connection to my php file and my php file does the rest of the work (using POST method) and adds the name to the mysql dataase. I have seen a lot of people use NSMutableURLRequest : setHTTPMethod :POST`` in their code (in my case my php file does that and I don't haveNSMutableURLRequest` included in my code and it works perfectly fine.) My questions are: Are there any benefits of including NSMutableURLRequest in your code when you can just call your php code to take care of the POST for you? What does NSMutableURLRequest exactly do and which way is more efficient?

jQuery passing an array to an AJAX call

I have an array: myarr = []; I'm filling it with some values: myarray['name'] = "Me!"; Now I want to transform that array into a set of Key = Value pairs. I though jQuery would do it automatically, but it doesn't seem to. $.ajax ({ type: "POST", dataType: "text", url: "myurl", data: myarr }); Is there a way to do this or something I'm doing wrong? I get no javascript errors, and no serverside errors other then no POST information at all.

jQuery .html() vs .text() produce different result in .hover() function

I have a issue where in I am using the .hover() function. If I use .text() fuction to add the html (anchor tag) which I am dynamically creating, it works fine, both the functions are called as desired. 100% height div inside 100% td

Ok, so here is my problem.. and its buggin me for a while... i need to set the following DIV 100% height inside this TD without any side-effects (by that i mean scrolling), because for some unknown reason, when i set it to 100% height, looks like IE 8 does some wrong calculations.. Using JQuery: 1.4.1. Having seen other examples online, I can't see what the difference should be. Feel free to test it in FireBug at (http://www.initiat.de/tests/testform/). Any help appreciated, can't see what I'm doing wrong.

CSS IE Hover Effect - Overlapping Elements, Display:Block, and Crashes

Hover over the first row, second column to see the effect. There are a couple of things I'm trying to accomplish: Make the activation area for the hover wider, so hovering over some space to the right of "Status 6" calls up the tooltip (say, 100-150px total width of target). At first, when I was adding "display:block" to a.tooltip, IE was terminating on hover. I resolved that by removing width:14em from a.tooltip:hover. Styling the width of the hover event + display.block on the a element does BAD things. Change the width of the tooltip without changing the width of the column/parent element (so the tooltip can be wider than itso it takes up less vertical space). Options for making the tooltips change width with its contents up to a max width, at which point the lines wrap would be awesome, but probably impossible in IE. As soon as I put a width in place on a.tooltip, the portion of the tooltip that is above other rows than the hover source let text show through from those cells. Remove the width and you'll see that the text doesn't show through any more. The hover effect applies to the entire tooltip, so if the tooltip covers 3 rows, while moving the mouse downward, the next 2 rows won't activate because the cursor hasn't left the tooltip. Can the hover effect apply only to the initial element hovered over and not the tooltip itself so moving the mouse downward will show each tooltip in each row? It would be nice if the links could never be activated (they can't take the focus). I don't know if that's possible. Too bad IE doesn't support hover on any elements but links. Note: soon IE6 will be abandoned in favor of IE8. If it makes a big difference, then IE8 can be the target browser instead. Thanks for your help.

SVG as CSS background for website navigation-bar

I drew a small (horizontal / in width) svg to be the background of my website's navigation. My website's navigation takes place a 100% of the browser's viewport and I want the svg image to fill that 100% space. So, using css I set the background of the navigation (.nav) to nav.svg but then I saw (whenI opened the html file in a browser) that the svg was not the full-width of the nav, but at the small width I drew it at. How can I get the SVG to stretch and fill the entire width of the navigation (100% of the page) ? The code is all working and tested because I can capture the image prior to "google maps api being loaded . Unnecessary Error Message Being Displayed

I've set up a form to update my blog and it was working fine up until about this morning. It keeps on turning up with an Invalid Entry ID error on the edit post page when I click the update button despite the fact that it updates the homepage. Cross domain javascript form filling, reverse proxy

I need a javascript form filler that can bypass the 'same origin policy' most modern browsers implement. I made a script that opens the desired website/form in a new browser. With the handler, returned by the window.open method, I want to retrieve the inputs with theWindowHandler.document.getElementById('inputx') and fill them (access denied). Is it possible to solve this problem by using Isapi Rewrite (official site) in IIS 6 acting like a reverse proxy? If so, how would I configure the reverse proxy? This is how far I got: RewriteEngine on RewriteLogLevel 9 LogLevel debug RewriteRule CarChecker https://the.actualcarchecker.com/CheckCar.aspx$1 [NC,P] The rewrite works, http://ourcompany.com/ourapplication/CarChecker, as evident in the logging. Creating a new Active Directory account with an InfoPath form

I am setting up a business partner portal in our Sharepoint server. There will be an AD group with permissions limited to viewing and possibly contributing to the specific business partner site and employees of our business partners will have accounts created for them as needed. Now we would like to let our business development group(BDG) have control over the partner accounts. Ideally they should be able to add and delete accounts and change permissions on them. The BDG are not domain admins so we don't want to give them access to the domain controller. We want to create an Infopath form that will allow them to do all this. Is it possible to create and manage AD accounts from within an Infopath form on the sharepoint server? I searched this site and MSDN and can not find anything specifically related to my question.

Error Message: Primary Slave Drive - ATAPI Incompatible

So I recently switched towers and now, all of a sudden, I'm getting this error message as soon as I boot my system. The error message reads "Primary Slave Drive - ATAPI Incompatible". This has really been frustrating since there's NO Primary Slave Drive even installed in my computer!! I have one hard drive installed which is recognized as the Primary Master & a DVD Drive which is recognized as the Secondary Master. My old system ran flawlessly. I'm beginning to think maybe my motherboard is bugging out cuz I fail to understand how it can be telling me that a "nonexistent" drive is incompatible. Any suggestions??

SharePoint Item Edit Form (editform.aspx) keeps closing webparts - MOSS 2007

We have a custom list within MOSS 2007 which sporadically closes the edit forms web part, despite the fact that the web parts property 'allow close' is unticked. The only way to make the form work again is to edit the page in SharePoint Designer and untick the option of 'web part closed', this then allows the form to function but at a seemingly random interval it will close itself again. There is quite a large user base accessing the site/list at anyone time, also note this has happened once on another list on another site collection. Has anyone else experienced this issue before or can offer any advice?

Batch convert HTML file(s) saved using IE to MHT

I have numerous web sites that I've saved over the years. I used Internet Explorer's "Save As..." option to do this. It saves the original page as an .html document, and page requirements in a linked folder with the same name as a document. I want to convert a bunch of these (over 1000) to the single-file .mht format. This can be done through Internet Explorer or Firefox (using UnMHT extension) by loading the original .html document, then re-saving as an .mht document. It is tedious to do that for the number of files I'm talking about, obviously. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a utility, command line or otherwise, that can accomplish this.

When you press C-h i in Emacs, it shows what's called the top of the INFO tree, and it links to all kinds of manuals: AUCTeX, Org Mode, Emacs, Emacs FAQ, Emacs Lisp Intro, Elisp, ... . Is there a place where I can download all of them at once as html files? GNU Home page has links to some of them in html format: http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/elisp.html_node.tar.gz http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/manual/emacs.html_node.tar.gz But I cannot find a link to a single tar.gz file packing all of them.
