  • Windows 2003 Domain Controller Very Upset about NIC Teaming

    I set up BACS (Broadcom Teaming) to team two NIC on a Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain Controller. Networking still works okay, I can ping the gateway etc, but both DNS and Active Directory fail to start with various 40xx errors. The team that I created is Smart load Balancing with Failover, with one backup and only one in smart load balancing (So really it is just failover). I have the team the same IP address that the single active NIC had before. Anyone seen this before, or have any ideas what the problem might be?   • Problems connecting to MS Dynamics AX 2009 Application Object Server

    I've got a funny problem connecting to an AOS server. I got a domain network containing a (VM) Server running the Application Object Server (AOS). Client computer A) can connect to the AOS without problems and work. When client computer B) tries to connect, all I get is this error message: Logon Error Connection with the Application Object Server could not be established. The event log of Client B) does not contain any messages about this. Firewalls are off on all three computers (by GP). Tcp/ip from cliebt B) to the AOS server does run fine. Both clients run the same OS (win 7 RC), sit on the same subnet, next to each other. Yesterday it all worked, today just one computer can connect. Any ideas what might cause this problem, how to resolve it, or how to debug it?

    Our application uses a XML configuation file. I thought that it would be nice to distribute some small, lightweight XML editor with our application that the user can use to edit the config file. Features should be: Small and lightweight (ideally, a small .exe that does not require installation), free, with license terms that permit distributing it with a commercial application, understands XML schemas (auto-completion, show validation errors). Does anyone know of such an editor?

  • DirectX application doesn't work over Remote Desktop

    I have a WPF application which has a DirectX component within it. This component does not work over Remote Desktop--it just shows a corrupted image. The application works fine when not using Remote Desktop. In trying to debug the problem I installed the February 2010 DirectX SDK. Now, when I run the program on the computer with the SDK and Remote Desktop to it from a separate computer, the component works just fine. However the opposite does not work--trying to use the application over Remote Desktop when it is running on the computer without the DirectX SDK (it has the original problem with the corrupted image). I have already compared the loaded DLLs (using Process Explorer) between running the application on my SDK machine and non-SDK machine. They both are loading the same DLL versions. What else could be causing this behavior?

  • creating a Grails application in IntelliJ IDEA 9.0.x fails to prompt for "create-app"

    When I create a Grails application in IntelliJ 9 on Snow Leopard I am not prompted to create an application. IntelliJ finished the wizard and creates an empty project that is not a Grails application. I have tried two different Apple computers (MacBook Pro and Mac Pro) it does not work on either. The same steps on a Linux system results in a prompt to "create-app" and a Grails application. I have already tried the steps in http://stackoverflow.com/questions/470882/intellij-idea-setup-on-os-x Is there a specific place that Grails needs to be installed? Has anyone else seen this behavior? Thanks

    I am using Struts-1. I have developed a struts-based web application. I am using struts tags in my JSP pages supplied in struts-taglib.jar by inserting the following lines in the JSP file: <%@ taglib prefix="html" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-html" %> <%@ taglib prefix="logic" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-logic" %> <%@ taglib prefix="bean" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-bean" %> Now the application is working fine when I run it on my localsystem but when I deploy it on a server, it shows the following exception: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: The absolute uri: http://struts.apache.org/tags-html cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application From the above exception, it seems that the application hasn't found the struts-taglib.jar file. But I have put the struts-taglib.jar in /WEB-INF/lib directory. Then where is the problem?

    Hi I have an Android application with version 1.6 I take the wallpaper and show it on my application. (I do that programatically by calling getWallpaper() on the Activity) When this is installed on a 2.1 phone, that has live wallpaper, the live wallpaper is not returned by getWallpaper() , because it just returns a Drawable, and live wallpaper probably is another thing. So the question is, is it possible to show a live wallpaper on the background of a 1.6 application? How? Thanks

    We have a Powerbuilder 10 application that is using .Net COM assemblies. We are trying to embed the manifest in the PB application (to invoke COM assemblies without registration). The merged manifest file has added sections for dependecies on the .Net COM assemblies. We have tries various tools to inject the new manifest with different results - using GenMan32 to inject truncates the application from 6MB to 45KB. - using ResourceTuner, the file size looks okay, but trying to launch application gives "Fatal Disk Error". Any suggestions on invoked .Net ComEnabled assembly from PB without registration?

    I am writing silverlight 3 application which is working on network. It works like client-server application. There is WinForm application for server and silverlight application for client. I use TcpListener on server and connect from client to it with Socket. In local network it works fine, but when I try to use it from internet it don't connect to server. I use IP address on local network and real IP with port number for internet version. I get error 10013 AccessDenied. Port number is correct and access policy exist. Firewall is turned of.   • Deployed Qt5 Application Doesn't Print or Show Print Dialog

    I'm experiencing Qt4 to Qt5 troubles. In my application when the user clicks the print button two things should happen, one is that a PDF gets written to disk (which still works fine in the new version, so I know that some of the printing functions are working properly) and the other is that a QPrintDialog should exec() and then send to a connected printer. I see the dialog when I launch from my development machine. The application launches on the deployed machine, but the QPrintDialog never shows and the document never prints. I am including print support. QT += core gui network webkitwidgets widgets printsupport I have been using Process Explorer to see what DLLs the application uses on my development machine, and I believe that everything is present. My application bundle includes: {myAppPath}\MyApp[MyApp.exe, Qt5PrintSupport.dll, ...] {myAppPath}\plugins\printsupport\windowsprintersupport.dll {myAppPath}\plugins\imageformats[ qgif.dll, qico.dll,qjpeg.dll, qmng.dll, qtga.dll, qtiff.dll, qwbmp.dll ] The following is the relevant code snippet: void PrintableForm::printFile() { //Writes the PDF to disk in every environment pdfCopy(); //Paper Copy only works on my dev machine QPrinter paperPrinter; QPrintDialog printDialog(&paperPrinter,this); if( printDialog.exec() == QDialog::Accepted ) { view->print(&paperPrinter); } this->accept(); } My first thought is that the relevant DLLs are not being found come print time, and that means that my application file system is incorrect, but I have not found anything that shows me a different file structure.     Hello, ist there a way to get a change notification if an attached property changed? A simple example is a Canvas with a Rectangle in it. The position of the Rectange is set by using the DepenendyProperties Canvas.Top and Canvas.Left. I'm using an Adorner to move the Rectangle around by changing the Canvas.Top and Canvas.Left. <Canvas Width="500" Height="500" > <Rectangle Width="40" Height="40" Canvas.Left="10" Canvas.Top="20" /> </Canvas> The next step is to create an Arrow between two Rectangles. In order to keep track of the moving Rectangles the Arrow must get a change notification whenever the position of a Rectanglechanges. This would be easy if I could just get a changed notification when the Attached Property Canvas.Topchanges. Thanks for any help, Michael

  • Why are my 2 new windows 7 (64 bit) workstations taking over 10 minutes to log on to the SBS 2008 do

    Hi, we have a SBS 2008 domain. On this we have windows XP clients. However, we are testing the windows 7 (64 bit) machines on the network. It takes between 10 & 15 minutes to log on - every time! I have checked the event logs on the client machine, and the only error I can see is; Event ID: 6005 The winlogon notification subscriber is took 615 seconds to handle the notification event (CreateSession). I have no warnings in the server event log, everything pings ok by name, so am guessing DNS is fine. Can someone please lend a hand with this, as we really want to go with windows 7. Lastly, both the server, and the windows 7 machines are fully patched and updated. Thank you.
