  • 405: Method Not Allowed WCF

    - by luiscarlosch
I can perfectly call a WCF web method from localhost. I published to this server: http://luiscarlosch.com/WebFormClean.aspx (only firefox or chrome) with the Visual Studio publishing tool and it works fine. The problem is when a try to access it from another computer. I get the 405: Method Not Allowed. But It doest make sense because It works fine when i access it remotely from the publisher computer as I said. Any idea? [ServiceContract(Namespace = "")] [AspNetCompatibilityRequirements(RequirementsMode = AspNetCompatibilityRequirementsMode.Allowed)] public class ContactProxy { [WebGet()] [OperationContract] public Contact getByID(int IDContact) { Contact contact = new Contact(IDContact); return contact; } [OperationContract] public EntityData insertEntityData(int IDEntityDataFieldType, int IDContact, String value) { //Contact contact = new Contact(); // contact.insertEntityData(IDEntityDataFieldType, IDContact, value); EntityData entityData = new EntityData(); entityData.save(IDEntityDataFieldType, IDContact, value); return entityData; } } Neither method seems to work. I just noticed some user were able to access http://luiscarlosch.com/WebFormClean.aspx because they change the values. So. some clients can read the methods but some cant. This should be happening. How can I write a regex to match strings following these rules? 1 letter followed by 4 letters or numbers, then 5 letters or numbers, then 3 letters or numbers followed by a number and one of the following signs: ! & @ ? I need to allow input as a 15-character string or as 3 groups of 5 chars separated by one space. I'm implementing this in JavaScript.

  • Best way to code this, string to map conversion in Groovy

    - by Daxon
    I have a string like def data = "session=234567893egshdjchasd&userId=12345673456&timeOut=1800000" I want to convert it to a map ["session", 234567893egshdjchasd] ["userId", 12345673456] ["timeout", 1800000] This is the current way I am doing it, def map = [:] data.splitEachLine("&"){ it.each{ x -> def object = x.split("=") map.put(object[0], object[1]) } } It works, but is there a more efficient way?

  • Ruby: Alter class static method in a code block

    - by Phuong Nguy?n
Given the Thread class with it current method. Now inside a test, I want to do this: def test_alter_current_thread Thread.current = a_stubbed_method # do something that involve the work of Thread.current Thread.current = default_thread_current end Basically, I want to alter the method of a class inside a test method and recover it after that. I know it sound complex for another language, like Java & C# (in Java, only powerful mock framework can do it). But it's ruby and I hope such nasty stuff would be available

  • 403 Error when Authenticating using tumblr gem for rails application

    - by Matenia Rossides
I have a ruby-on-rails application that wishes to utilise the tumblr gem for adding posts when an action is taken (eg: creating a blog post) I currently have the tumblr gem installed and can manage to fetch my posts using @tumblruser = Tumblr::User.new('myemail','mypassword') However when i go to add a post where it asks me to pass the user information like so (according to the API for the gem) post = Tumblr::Post.create(@tumblruser, :type => 'video', :embed => @post.video_html, :title => @post.title, :caption => @post.content) it just does not want to authenticate and returns a 403 error anyone had any experience with this?

  • Is saving to database just to get an ID a bad hack?

    - by Narsil
I hope the title is not too confusing. I am trying to make folders with linq-to-sql objects' IDs. Actually I have to create folders before I should save them. I will use them to keep user uploaded files. As you can see I have to create the folder with the FileID before I can save it there. So I just save a record which will be edited or maybe deleted File newFile = new File(); ...//add some values to fields so they don't throw rule violations db.AddFile(newFile); db.Save(); System.IO.Directory.CreateDirectory("..Uploads/"+newFile.FileId.ToString()); After that I will have to edit some fields and save again. Of course user might stop upload and I would have to delete it. I know I can write a stored procedure to get the next available FileID but some other upload happening at the same time would get the same number. So they would write in same directory which is a thing I don't want. Should I go on with this, would there be some problems? Can you think of a better way?

  • iPhone - Developing on multiple Macs

    - by hecta
I have a mac and a macbook, and one iPhone device and want to develop on both systems. My enrollment type is individual. How am I able to install the developer certificate and provisioning profiles on both machines? On the macbook it says 'a valid signing identity matching this profile could not be found in your keychain'. In my keychain I have a 'green status' for my developer certificate and in the xcode organizer for my device as well.

  • Is this code thread-safe?

    - by mafutrct
I've got a class with several properties. On every value update, a Store method is called with stores all fields (in a file). private int _Prop1; public int Prop1 { get { return _Prop1; } set { _Prop1 = value; Store(); } } // more similar properties here... private XmlSerializer _Ser = new ...; private void Store() { lock (_Ser) { using (FileStream fs = new ...) { _Ser.Serialize (fs, this); } } } Is this design thread-safe? (Btw, if you can think of a more appropriate caption, feel free to edit.)

  • Why is "copy and paste" of code dangerous?

    - by Yigang Wu
Sometimes, my boss will complain us why we need so long time to implement a feature. Actually, the feature has been implemented in other AP before, you just need to copy and paste codes from there. The cost should be low. It's really a hard question, because copy and paste codes is not a easy thing from my point. Do you have any good reason to explain your boss who doesn't know technology?

  • How can I automatically generate sql update scripts when some data is updated ?

    - by Brann
I'd like to automatically generate an update script each time a value is modified in my database. In other words, if a stored procedure, or a query, or whatever updates column a with value b in table c (which as a pk column (i,j...k), I want to generate this : update c set a=b where i=... and j=... and k=... and store it somewhere (for example as a raw string in a table). To complicate things, I want the script to be generated only if the update has been made by a specific user. Good news is that I've got a primary key defined for all my tables. I can see how to do this using a trigger, but I would need to generate specific triggers for each table, and to update them each and every-time my schema changes. I guess there are some built-in ways to do this as SQL server sometimes need to store this kind of things (while using transactional replication for example), but couldn't find anything so far ... any ideas ? I'm also interested in ways to automatically generate triggers (probably using triggers - meta triggers, huh? - since I will need to update triggers automatically when the schema change)

  • Operating System for first production windows server code?

    - by Unkwntech
I'm getting ready to purchase a server for me to deploy my first windows based (C# .NET) application but I'm not familiar with using windows for hosted applications. I have the choice of the following versions of windows: Windows Server 2003 Windows Server 2003 Web Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Windows Server 2008 Windows Server 2008 Web Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Would one of these be better for deploying a C# .NET application? EDIT: There will be 3 applications deployed but each will basically be the same, they will be services that are driven from data being brought in from a website that will likely run on the same server. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/compare-roles.aspx

  • Question regarding ip checksum code

    - by looktt
unsigned short /* this function generates header checksums */ csum (unsigned short *buf, int nwords) { unsigned long sum; for (sum = 0; nwords > 0; nwords--) // add words(16bits) together sum += *buf++; sum = (sum >> 16) + (sum & 0xffff); //add carry over sum += (sum >> 16); //what does this step do??? add possible left-over //byte? But isn't it already added in the loop (if //any)? return ((unsigned short) ~sum); } I assume nwords in the number of 16bits word, not 8bits byte (if there are odd byte, nword is rounded to next large), is it correct? The line sum = (sum 16) + (sum & 0xffff) is to add carry over to make 16bit complement sum += (sum 16); What's the purpose of this step? Add left-over byte? How? Thanks!

  • c# - SQL - speed up code to DB

    - by user228058
I have a page with 26 sections - one for each letter of the alphabet. I'm retrieving a list of manufacturers from the database, and for each one, creating a link - using a different field in the Database. So currently, I leave the connection open, then do a new SELECT by each letter, WHERE the Name LIKE that letter. It's very slow, though. What's a better way to do this? TIA
