• Reduce Multiple Errors logging in sysssislog

  Need help. I am trying to automate error notifications to be sent in mailers. For that I am querying the sysssislog table. I have pasted an "Execute SQl task" on the package event handler "On error". For testing purpose, I am deliberately trying to load duplicate keys in a table which consists of a Primary key column(so as to get an error). But instead of having just one error, "Violation of primary key constraint", SSIS records 3 in the table. PFA the screenshot as well. How can i restrict the tool to log only one error and not multiple ??? Package Structure. Package ("On error Event handler") - DFT - Oledb Source - Oledb Destination SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "The statement has been terminated.". An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_SalesPerson_SalesPersonID'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.SalesPerson'.". SSIS Error Code DTS_E_INDUCEDTRANSFORMFAILUREONERROR. The "input "OLE DB Destination Input" (56)" failed because error code 0xC020907B occurred, and the error row disposition on "input "OLE DB Destination Input" (56)" specifies failure on error. An error occurred on the specified object of the specified component. There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure. SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PROCESSINPUTFAILED. The ProcessInput method on component "OLE DB Destination" (43) failed with error code 0xC0209029 while processing input "OLE DB Destination Input" (56). The identified component returned an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running. Short: Is there a possibility to change the name of a processed file (eXist-DB) after serialization? • Unable to add item to dataset in Linq to SQL

  I am having an issue adding an item to my dataset in Linq to SQL. I am using the exact same method in other tables with no problem. I suspect I know the problem but cannot find an answer (I also suspect all i really need is the right search term for Google). Please keep in mind this is a learning project (Although it is in use in a business) I have posted my code and datacontext below. What I am doing is: Create a view model (Relevant bits are shown) and a simple wpf window that allows editing of 3 properties that are bound to the category object. Category is from the datacontext. Edit works fine but add does not. If I check GetChangeSet() just before the db.submitChanges() call there are no adds, edits or deletes. I suspect an issue with the fact that a Category added without a Subcategory would be an orphan but I cannot seem to find the solution. • Difficulty restoring a differential backup in SQL Server, 2 media families are expected or no files

  I have sql backups copied from server A to server B on a nightly basis. We want to move the sql server from server A to server B without much downtime, but the files are very large. I assumed that performing a differential backup and restore would solve the problem with the databases. Copy full backup from server A to copy to server B (10+gb) Open SQL Server Managment Studio on server B Right mouse on databases Restore Database Type in the new DB-name Choose "From Device" and browse to the backup file Click Okay. This is now resorting the original "full" backup. Test new db with dev application - everything works :) On original database rightmouse on DB Tasks Backup... Backup Type = Differential, Backup to disk, add a new file, and remove the old one (it needs to be a small file to transfer for the smallest amount of outage) Copy the diff backup onto the new db Right mouse on DB Tasks Restore Database This is where I get stuck. If I add both the new differential file, and the original backup to the restore process I get an error The media loaded on "M:\path\to\backup\full.bak" is formatted to support 1 media families, but 2 media families are expected according to the backup device specification. RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. But if I try to restore using just the differential file I get System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: The log or differential backup cannot be restored because no files are ready to rollforward. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo) Any idea how to do it? Is there a better way of restoring backups with limited downtime?

• Indefinite hang when restoring SQL 2005 database on a SQL 2008 server in EC2

  I'm trying to restore a 25 GB database backup taken from a Windows 2003/SQL 2005 machine to a Windows 2008/SQL 2008 machine in the Amazon EC2 cloud, using a .bak file and the SQL Management Studio. SQL Management Studio reports the restore reaches 100% complete, and then just hangs indefinitely (24+ hours) using a lot of CPU, until I restart the SQL Server service. Upon restart, SQL again uses a lot of CPU activity for what seems to be an indefinite amount of time, but the DB never comes online. Here are some details: - I have created two EBS volumes, one for DATA and one for LOGS, and I have set the default directories in SQL Server to the \DATA and \LOG directory on these respective volumes. (I wonder if the issue could be related to this, but the DB is too big to restore on the root drive.) - I have given the SQL Server user group full access to these directories. - The server can create a new empty test DB in these directories just fine, and can backup and restore the test DB. - I have tried both restoring of a .bak file and attaching directly to copies of the original .mdf/.ldf files, and the result is the same in both cases. - Both the .bak restore and the .mdf/.ldf attach occur from/to the EBS volumes. - I've also tried the above via SQL script, and "WITH RECOVERY", with no difference in the result, just less UI. - The backup contains two full text indexes. - I have to use "WITH MOVE" for most of the files in the backup. - There's nothing wrong with the backup or .mdf/.ldf files, as this works just fine on a Windows 2003/SQL 2005 machine in the Amazon EC2, but not Windows 2008/SQL 2008. - The DB is NOT marked as "Restoring" in the SQL Management Studio - it is just listed as a normal database, but throws errors when I try to do anything with it (expand the object browser tree, view properties, etc.) Any ideas?

• WordPress: can't access WordPress.com and other external sites?

  Hello, I recently started a WordPress blog using hosting at MyDomain (they offer the application "natively"). The blog works fine, however I have two plugins I can't seem to install correctly. First, the WordPress.com Stats plugin requires the API Key. When I input it, I get the following message: Error from last API Key attempt: Your blog was unable to connect to WordPress.com. Please ask your host for help. (transport error - could not open socket: 110 Connection timed out) Second, the Akismet plugin is not configured. When I go to Akismet page to insert my API key, it has the following message: There was a problem connecting to the Akismet server. Please check your server configuration. I assume the two issues are related... I approached my hosting provider about the subject and all they said is that they don't support WordPress, only provide means to install it. To clarify, up to this point I have only been able to install plugins that don't require an API key. What can I do to diagnose the problem and fix it? As a work-around, are there comparable stats and anti-spam plugins that don't require an API key? Many thanks.

• Why is this PHP loop rendering every row twice?

  I'm working on a real frankensite here not of my own design. There's a rudimentary CMS and one of the pages shows customer records from a MySQL DB. For some reason, it has no probs picking up the data from the DB - there's no duplicate records - but it renders each row twice. I'm not the world's best PHP expert but I think I can see an error in a for loop when there is one... But everything looks ok to me. You'll notice that the customer name is clickable; clicking takes you to another page where you can view their full info as held in the DB - and for both rows, the customer ID is identical, and manually checking the DB shows there's no duplicate entries. The code is definitely rendering each row twice, but for what reason I have no idea. All pointers / advice appreciated.

• Cannot exclude a path from basic auth when using a front controller script

  I have a small PHP/Apache2 web application wherein I'd like to do two seemingly incompatible operations: Route all requests through a single PHP script (a "front controller", if you will) Secure everything except API calls with HTTP basic authentication I can satisfy either requirement just fine in isolation, it's when I try to do both at once that I am blocked. For no good reason I'm trying to accomplish these requirements solely with Apache configuration. Here are the requirements stated as an example. A GET request for this URL: http://basic/api/listcars?max=10 should be sent through front.php without requiring basic auth. front.php will get /api/listcars?max=10 and do whatever it needs to with that. Here's what I think should work. In my /etc/hosts I added 127.0.0.1 basic and I am using this Apache config: <Location /> AuthType Basic AuthName "Home Secure" AuthUserFile /etc/apache2/passwords require valid-user </Location> <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName basic DocumentRoot /var/www/basic <Directory /var/www/basic> <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /front.php/$1 [QSA,L] </IfModule> </Directory> <Location /api> Order deny,allow Allow from all Satisfy any </Location> </VirtualHost> But I still always get a HTTP 401: Authorization Required response. I also tried changing the <Directory /var/www/basic> section into <Location />, but this doesn't work either (and it results in some strange values for PATH_TRANSLATED being passed to the script). I searched around and found many examples of selective exclusion of basic auth, but none that also incorporated a front controller. I could certainly do something like handle basic auth in the front controller, but if I can have Apache do that instead I'll be able to keep all authentication logic out of my PHP code. A friend suggested splitting this into two vhosts, which I know also works. This used to be two separate vhosts, actually. I'm using Apache 2.2.22 / PHP 5.3.10 on Ubuntu 12.04.

  Dear all, I have a strange issue with my virtualenv + gunicorn setup, only when gunicorn is launched via supervisord. I do realize that it may very well be an issue with my supervisord and I would appreciate any feedback on a better place to ask for help... In a nutshell : when I run gunicorn from my user shell, inside my virtualenv, everything is working flawlessly. I'm able to access all the views of my Django project. When gunicorn is launched by supervisord at the system startup, everything is OK. But, if I have to kill the gunicorn_django processes, or if I perform a supervisord restart, once that gunicorn_django has relaunched, every request is answered with a weird Traceback : (...)   We have a SQL 2000 DB. The server crashed due to Raid array failure. Now when we run DBCC CHECKDB, we get an error that there are 27 consistency errors in 9 pages. When we run DBCC PAGE on these pages, we get this: Msg 8939, Level 16, State 106, Line 1 Table error: Object ID 1397580017, index ID 2, page (1:8404521). Test (m_freeCnt == freeCnt) failed. Values are 2 and 19. Msg 8939, Level 16, State 108, Line 1 Table error: Object ID 1397580017, index ID 2, page (1:8404521). Test (emptySlotCnt == 0) failed. Values are 1 and 0. Since the indicated index is non-clustered and is created by a unique constarint that includes 2 columns, we tried dropping and recreating the index. This resulted in the following error: CREATE UNIQUE INDEX terminated because a duplicate key was found for index ID 2. Most significant primary key is '3280'. The statement has been terminated. However running Select var_id,result_on from tests group by var_id,result_on having count(*)>1 returns 0 rows. Here is what we are planning to do: Restore a pre-server crash copy of the DB and run DBCC CHECKDB If that returns clean, then restore again with no recovery Apply all subequent TLOG backups Stop production app, take a tail log backup and apply that too Drop prod DB and rename the freshly restored DB to make it prod Start prod app Could someone please punch holes in this approach? Maybe, suggest a different approach? What we need is minimum downtime. SQL 2000 DB Size 94 GB The table that has corrupt pages has 460 Million+ rows of data Thanks for the help. Raj

• Consolidate SQL Server Reporting Services

  I've been a big fan of consolidating as many DB's to a few SQL servers for a while and I've had great success with it. However, I've never had to deal with SQL reporting services. Has anyone migrated SSRS from a bunch of random SQL servers into a consolidated SQL server? I don't exactly know a whole lot about SSRS which is part of the problem. To my knowlege, it's one DB per SSRS instance, so it sounds like i'd need to find a way of exporting data and merging it. Basically the process used to look like: Move DB from SQL Express to shared SQL server Change point in APP to point at new SQL server With reporting services, how do I move the reporting service compenent of the DB as well? I realize I may need to tweak the app, but my question is on the SQL side.

• Login failed for user 'XXX' on the mirrored sql server

  We have 4 web servers that host our asp.net (3.5) application. Randomly, we get error messages like : 1) "Login failed for user 'userid'" 2) "A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)" we are running sql2005 and have a principle and a mirror db (sync). When these exceptions are thrown, I look at the SQL error logs on the mirrored db and noticed the failed login messages in there. The principle db is running fine and the other web apps are working great. this will happen for maybe 10 min, then the app pool recycles and it starts hitting the principle db again. Is there a configuration I have incorrect? my theory is that our principle db is forwarding the request to the mirror, but that should never happen. any help??

• Mysql can not resolve hostnames when checking privileges

  I'm going crazy to solve this. I have a mysql installation (on machine db.example.org) which doesn't resolve a given hostname. I gave privileges using hostnames i.e. GRANT USAGE ON *.* TO 'user'@'host1.example.org' IDENTIFIED BY PASSWORD 'secret' GRANT SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, CREATE, INDEX ON `my_database`.* TO 'user'@'host1.example.org' However when I try to connect using mysql -u user -p -h db.example.org I obtain ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'user'@'192.168.11.244' (using password: YES) I already checked for correct name resolution in the dns system: $ dig -x 192.168.11.244 ;; ANSWER SECTION: 244.11.168.192.in-addr.arpa. 68900 IN PTR host1.example.org. I've also checked for skip-name-resolve option in mysql variables in fact if I can access from another machine on the same subnet using hostname privileges. The only difference is that host1.example.org and db.example.org point the same ip on the same machine i.e. both db.example.org and host1.example.org have ip 192.168.11.244. In this way all the applications using that database can use the name db.example.org and we can move the data on other hosts (if needed) just by changing the dns record, leaving the application code unchanged. What should I do to solve this or at least to understand what's happening?
