  • How can I speed up Netbeans Task Marker resolution?

    I'm trying to quickly navigate and fix problems in code in Netbeans, and it just takes too long. I'll fix a problem, and it will take seconds to re-compile. While this is happening, the marker remains, and all the others that depend on it will too (requiring multiple next-marker key strokes to get to a "new" problem). If I'm doing a fix that changes the number of lines (e.g. organise imports), the markers will navigate to the wrong place, even though the correct text is underlined. Is there a way to speed this up? I presume it's because it's doing a full file compilation via javac to calculate the markers. BUT the information is available in netbeans, because the correct text is underlined, even when the compilation occurs.

  • How do I convert an arbitrary list of strings to a SQL rowset?

    I have a simple list of strings, which may be of arbitrary length. I'd like to be able to use this list of strings as I would use a rowset. The app in question is running against SQL Server. To be clearer, if I do SELECT 'foo', 'bar', 'baz' I get 'foo', 'bar', and 'baz' as fields in a single row. I'd like to see each one of them as a separate row. Is there a SQL (or SQLServer-specific) function or technique that I'm missing, or am I going to have to resort to writing a function in an external scripting language?

  • How to link to a folder in document library from sharepoint list item?

    Hi, Background: I have an items on the sharepoint list. I also have a corresponding folder in a document library that contains documents about this item. I want to be able to get to this folder straight from the item properties. I have tried to create a lookup column containing folder ID, but that doesn't help cause folder is not a type and it just doesn't work. Other solution would be to create link column but if I will create it staticly - after creating alternative mapping (and getting to the page from the internet for example) it won't work. (so solution posted here won't work for me). I want to create this link from sharepoint workflow. I have a custom action that can return any info about the folder I want (ID, URL etc). Question: How to link from sharepoint list item to a folder in document library?

    Quite possibly there could be a rails magic I've missed, but I'm guessing it will be in Ruby. I have a model called Company which has_many Contacts. Suppose Company has Contact 1, Contact 2, Contact 3, and Contact 4. When I create a textblog for each Contact, I want to output the following (where Contact = Contact 1) "Hi, Contact 1, I am also writing to Contact 2, Contact 3, and Contact 4." So it needs to extract the Contact in the salutation and then list them, inserting "and" before the last Contact in the list.

  • How do you get speech dictated without adding it to a grammar list?

    I'm new to Speech Recognition, and I'm working on a project that will receive a command from a recognizable list. For example, I would say "Play song". The computer would ask the song title, and I can say it. It will then compare my answer to my music library and find it. I know how to add recognizable grammar to the SpeechRecognizer object, how to make the computer speak, and how to play a song in iTunes. I cannot, however, figure out how to get it to dictate or listen and interpret something that isn't in the grammar list. Is there a method I'm missing? Or not yet been simplified by Microsoft? I have no code to show for this, as I am not even sure how to search for this particular idea. Of course, I could have the program read my entire library, but that's not an optimal solution considering I have tens of thousands of songs. Thanks in advance!

The question is: Should I use it for other tasks(which are pretty fast) and do not require instant feedback in User Interface? Or does it in involve another level of complexity without not so much benefits?

    I am developing a simple application where in we have predefined quotas on usage for each user on the system.. and if the quota is up..the system should logoff of the user account.. this will happen if the application is allowed to run.. but if the user is closing the application on his own ..the app should automaticaly logoff the account.. i did exactly that in writing forced logoff code in form-closing event.. but if we are closing the app/process using the taskmanager.. the form closing event is not being called. and so the user is able to continue even if his quota of time is up.. can anybody helpme out with this..

  • How to compare DateTime Objects while looping through a list?

    I'm trying to loop through a list (csv) containing two fields; a name and a date. There are various duplicated names and various dates in the list. I'm trying to deduce for each name in the list, where there are multiple instances of the same name, which corresponding date is the latest. I realise, from looking at another answer, that I need to use the DateTime.Compare method which is fine, but my problem is working out which date is later. Once I know this I need to produce a file with unique names and the latest date relating to it. This is my first question which makes me a newbie. EDIT: Initially I thought it would be 'ok' to set the LatestDate object to a date that wouldn't show up in my file, therefore making any later dates in the file the LatestDate.     I have a SQL Server table with a list of files (path + filename), and a folder with multiple layers and files in each layer. I'm looking for a way to reconcile the two without having to process the list twice. Currently, I'm doing this: For Each f as FileInfo In FileListFromDatabase If f.Exists is False, mark it as deleted in the database Next For Each f as FileInfo In RecursiveListOFFilesOnDisk If Not FileExistsInDatabase, then add it Next Is there a better way to do this? I'd like to avoid converting all the matching files (of which most will be) to FileInfo objects twice. Since I'm a T-SQL developer first, I'm picturing something like an OUTER JOIN of the two lists where they don't match. Something LINQ-ish?

    I'm having trouble composing a CakePHP find() which returns the records I'm looking for. My associations go like this: User -(has many)- Friends , User -(has many)- Posts I'm trying to display a list of all a user's friends recent posts, in other words, list every post that was created by a friend of the current user logged in. The only way I can think of doing this is by putting all the user's friends' user_ids in a big array, and then looping through each one, so that the find() call would look something like: $posts = $this->Post->find('all',array( 'conditions' => array( 'Post.user_id' => array( 'OR' => array( $user_id_array[0],$user_id_array[1],$user_id_array[2] # .. etc ) ) ) )); I get the impression this isn't the best way of doing things as if that user is popular that's a lot of OR conditions. Can anyone suggest a better alternative?

    I have a large website at www.mydomain.com. There are 1000 new documents per month and 100 new users per week lets say. I need to be able to programmatically do the following: user goes to www.mydomain.com/documents user sees list of all documents they have access to (not ALL of the docs) I know you can retrieve an ACL for each document individually. But is there a way to retrieve an ACL for each "user", a list of all the documents they have access to, in one HTTP request? Something like this, but for Docs (and not just for document "owners"): Retrieving only calendars that a user owns. I'd love to know, because it seems like I'd have to parse 10,000 document "entry" tags, find the ACL, see if user is in ACL... That seems crazy. What am I missing? Thanks!

  • How do I get MSBuild Task to generate XML Documents when building a solution?

    I have a solution with lots of projects. Each project is configured to generate the XML documentation file when building in Debug-Mode (which is default). That works when I build in Visual Studio 2008. In my build script on my integration server I advise MSBuild to build the whole solution, but it won't generate the documentation files. What can I do? I already tried to explicitly give the Debug-Condition to the build process, but it makes no difference. <Target Name="BuilSolution"> <MSBuild Projects="C:\Path\To\MySolution.sln" targets="Build" Properties="SolutionConfigurationPlatforms='Debug|Any CPU'"/> </Target> There seem to be some ideas to solve this problem when building single projects, but I can't afford to do this, so I need a hint for doing it this way.     So I have a list of words (the entire English dictionary). For a word matching game, when a player moves a piece I need to check the entire dictionary to see if the the word that the player made exists in the dictionary. I need to do this as quickly as possible. simply iterating through the dictionary is way too slow. What is the quickest algorithm in AS3 to search a long list like this for a match, and what datatype should I use? (ie array, object, Dictionary etc)

    Is there a list of the differences between the various versions of Rails somewhere on the web? I'm working through an older book about Rails that uses Rails 1.2. I know there are other ways to learn Rails these days, but I thought it would be interesting to try and convert all of the exercises in the book to a more modern versions of Rails (I'm currently working with 2.3.5). A comprehensive list of differences between the various releases would be very helpful. Note that I don't consider the git log a good source of information, as commit messages almost never tell the full story.

Specifically, it will use Find.find and append the files to an Array for later output.     Hi friends, I'm starting my first Drupal project, pretty excited :) I have a question; the project is a hotel directory site. at sidebar I have locations list (London, Manchester, Liverpool, etc..) and filter the hotels related on location click. So, how should I create these cities? Should I put them manually and give links manually depending on location id? or is there any better way to create this location list and linking filtering dynamically (via cms, or custom module, etc...) Appreciate advices!!!!
