• Delete an entity by key without fetching it first in app engine (using JDO)

  Is there a way to delete an entity without having to fetch it from the datastore first? I am assuming I already have the key or id for the entity. I'm thinking of something like deleteObjectById that would be an analogue to getObjectById on PersistenceManager. The closest I can think of is using Query.deletePersistentAll() (as seen here) and specifying a query that only relies on the key, but I can't tell if that is going to fetch the entity before deleting it. thanks EDIT: I know how to do this using the low level API, as well as in the python API. I was wondering if there was a way to do it within the JDO layer.

  I have a JComboBox on my Panel. One of the popup menu items is 'More' and when I click that I fetch more menu items and add them to the existing list. After this, I wish to keep the popup menu open so that the user realizes that more items have been fetched however, the popup closes.   i have these tables /entities VacationRequestDate table which has a VacationRequestId field that links with VacationRequest table VacationRequest has PersonId and RequestStatusId fields that links with Person and RequestStatus respectively. i have this query so far: IEnumerable<VacationRequestDate> dates = Session.Query<VacationRequestDate>().Fetch(r => r.VacationRequest).ThenFetch(p=>p.RequestStatus).ToList(); this works fine and joins with VacationRequest and then VacationRequest joins with RequestStatus but i can't figure out how to add an additional EAGER join to the VacationRequest table. If i add a Fetch at the end, it refers to the VacationRequestDate table If i add a ThenFetch at the end, it refers to the RequestStatus table I can't find any api that will refer to the VacationRequest table as the reference point. how would you add multiple joins to a joined table using nhibernate LINQ ?

• [N]Hibernate: view-like fetching properties of associated class

  (Felt quite helpless in formulating an appropriate title...) In my C# app I display a list of "A" objects, along with some properties of their associated "B" objects and properties of B's associated "C" objects: A.Name B.Name B.SomeValue C.Name Foo Bar 123 HelloWorld Bar Hello 432 World ... To clarify: A has an FK to B, B has an FK to C. (Such as, e.g. BankAccount - Person - Company). I have tried two approaches to load these properties from the database (using NHibernate): A fast approach and a clean approach. My eventual question is how to do a fast & clean approach. Fast approach: Define a view in the database which joins A, B, C and provides all these fields. In the A class, define properties "BName", "BSomeValue", "CName" Define a hibernate mapping between A and the View, whereas the needed B and C properties are mapped with update="false" insert="false" and do actually stem from B and C tables, but Hibernate is not aware of that since it uses the view. This way, the listing only loads one object per "A" record, which is quite fast. If the code tries to access the actual associated property, "A.B", I issue another HQL query to get B, set the property and update the faked BName and BSomeValue properties as well. Clean approach: There is no view. Class A is mapped to table A, B to B, C to C. When loading the list of A, I do a double left-join-fetch to get B and C as well: from A a left join fetch a.B left join fetch a.B.C B.Name, B.SomeValue and C.Name are accessed through the eagerly loaded associations. The disadvantage of this approach is that it gets slower and takes more memory, since it needs to created and map 3 objects per "A" record: An A, B, and C object each. Fast and clean approach: I feel somehow uncomfortable using a database view that hides a join and treat that in NHibernate as if it was a table. So I would like to do something like: Have no views in the database. Declare properties "BName", "BSomeValue", "CName" in class "A". Define the mapping for A such that NHibernate fetches A and these properties together using a join SQL query as a database view would do. The mapping should still allow for defining lazy many-to-one associations for getting A.B.C My questions: Is this possible? Is it [un]artful? Is there a better way?

• Why are Facebook Likes Insisting on using Wrong Product Image...?

  Firstly, I'm not a web developer so please be patient. I have read the other posts but I think i have everything covered. My website http://www.joaniesgifts.co.uk includes the like button on the product pages. However, I've found that certain product pages are using the incorrect image when a user likes the page. For example - http://www.joaniesgifts.co.uk/terramundi-money-pots/terramundi-money-pot-holiday-fund I think this may have been down to an original incorrect setup which is now corrected. However, the problem remains... The only thing I have to go on :- if i use the facebook url linter (developers.facebook.com/tools/debug) on the above product page, I receive the following error :- Object at URL 'http://www.joaniesgifts.co.uk/terramundi-money-pot-holiday-fund' of type '213689662010141:product' is invalid because the domain 'www.joaniesgifts.co.uk' is not allowed for the application id '213689662010141' which owns the specified object type. If you are the owner of this application, you can verify your configured 'Site Domain' at developers.facebook.com/apps/213689662010141. (I have verified my site's domain) Everything else appears fine except it is also showing the wrong image!! However, under Raw Open Graph Document Information it has the correct link! If I then click graph api - graph.facebook.com/10150450766583352 it again shows the wrong image was linked! I've no idea what else to do - can you help me?   Hi, I building an Google Chrome extension that place some IMG tag in sites. This img tag on :hover must show a custom cursor. The extension uses jQuery as its injected core script. I tried the following methods: 1. var cursor = 'url('+chrome.extension.getURL('icons/cursor.cur')+')'; $('#myImgId').css({ 'position': 'absolute', 'top':'5px', 'left':'5px', 'cursor':cursor }); This is the best working. On smaller sites its shows the cursor. On slower loading sites it does not. But on little sites it fails sometimes. 2. var cursor = 'url('+chrome.extension.getURL('icons/cursor.cur')+')'; $('<style>#myImgId{cursor:'+cursor+'}</style>').appendTo('head'); This did nothing at all. 3. In manifest.json I injected the css. "content_scripts": [ { "matches": ["http://*/*"], "css": ["css/style.css"], "js": ["j/c.js", "j/s.js"] } The css file just had the cursor:url(icons/cursor.cur) as I don't have idea, how to get real url in a css file. This isn't working at all. I think it must work like this, I didn't find reference for this on code.google though.

• App-Engine Parse a UrlFetch UTF-8 encoded stream

  I am trying to parse an XML from a URL using the xml.sax parser. I know there are other libraries to use but coming from Java this is the one I am most familiar with and seems the least complicated to me. The code I'm using to parse is as follows: parser = xml.sax.make_parser() handler = MangaHandler() parser.setContentHandler(handler) url = urlfetch.Fetch('http://www.mangapanda.com/alphabetical', allow_truncated = False, follow_redirects = False, deadline = False) xml.sax.parseString(url.content, handler) This returns a SaxException (invalid token) once the parser reaches the first & sign: SAXParseException: <unknown>:582:34: not well-formed (invalid token) Because urlfetch returns a string and not a stream I cannot use the parse() (which only works with streams) and am left to use parseString() instead. To see if parsing as a stream would fix this I tried: parser.parse(io.StringIO(url.content).encode('utf-8')) but this returns: TypeError: initial_value must be unicode or None, not str I have also tried to use the urllib2 libraries which do return a stream instead of urlfetch but the file is too large and is automatically truncated, leaving me with missing data. Any Sort of work-around for this would be greatly appreciated as I've spent days getting around one obstacle just to be stopped by another.

It just gives me this error: Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in C:\wamp\www\test3.php on line 26 Fatal error: Call to a member function children() on a non-object in C:\wamp\www\test3.php on line 28 Why is this and how can I get it to continue to the next table element? I appreciate any help on this! Please note: This is legal as the songs are not bound by copyright and they are available to download freely, its just I need to download a lot of them and I can't sit there clicking a button all day. Having said that, its taken me an hour to get this far.

  I'm very new to MVC and I'm trying to get a new site set up using it. For SEO reasons we need to make the url of a page something like "Recruiter/4359/John_Smith" or basically {controller}/{id}/{name}. I have that working when I create the url in the code behind like so... //r is a recruiter object that is part of the results for the view r.Summary = searchResult.Summary + "... &lt;a href=\"/Recruiter/" + r.Id + "/" + r.FirstName + "_" + r.LastName + "\"&gt;Read More&lt;/a&gt;" But when I am using the collection of results from a search in my view and iterating through them I am trying to create another link to the same page doing something like <%=Html.ActionLink<RecruiterController>(x => x.Detail((int)r.Id), r.RecruiterName)%> but that doesn't work. When I use that code in the view it gives me a url in the form of /Recruiter/Detail/4359 I was told by a coworker that I should use the Html.ActionLink to create the link in both the view and the controller so that if the route changes in the future it will automatically work. Unfortunately he wasn't sure how to do that in this case. So, my problems are... How can I make the Html.ActionLink work in the view to create a url like I need (like r.Summary above)? How do I use the Html.ActionLink in a controller instead of hardcoding the link like I have above?

I can see console.dir(store) printed onto Firebug but the fetch function always returns the onError block. My store array is of the form {info="Test Message"} and I need to retrieve "Test Message" and display it in a Alert box. Any help?

  I have two entities in core data (call them entityOne and entityTwo). I have a entityOne<---entityTwo relationship between them. I am now trying to code an NSPredicate to fetch entityTwo objects on the following basis: Fetch entityTwo objects that have a relationship with a specified entityOne object. Filter out those entityTwo objects which have no value for one of their attributes. I am best doing both of these in an NSPredicate or is there a better way? I am trying the following: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"(attribute <> "") AND (relationship == entityOne"]; [request setPredicate:predicate]; Any pointers on coding great fully received.

• Adding a variable href attribute to a hyperlink using XSLT

  I need to create links using dynamic values for both the URL and the anchor text. I have column called URL, which contains URL's, i.e., http://stackoverflow.com, and I have a column called Title, which contains the text for the anchor, i.e., This Great Site. I figure maybe all I need to do is nest this tags, along with a little HTML to get my desired result: <a href="> <xsl:value-of select="@URL">"> <xsl:value-of select="@Title"/> </xsl:value-of> </a> In my head, this would render: <a href=" http://stackoverflow.com"> This Great Site </a> I know there's more to it, but I haven't been able to clearly understand what more I need. I think this issue has been addressed before, but not in a way I could understand it. I'd be more than happy to improve the question's title to help noobs like myself find this item, and hopefully an answer. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  I have the following problem I have a web framework built with classic asp that saves the page state in hidden textboxes, and then issues a submit to itself. Before submitting, we have a javascript functions that saves the action in a hidden "action" input, and then performs the submit. The page loads the state from those hidden texts, reads the action issued, reads extra parameters, like the id of the record to edit, and then builds the page accordingly. I'd like to make a url link to automatically start the page with "edit" action on a "x" id. So I was thinking about building the following url, for example http://myapp/user?action=edit&id=23 the problem is that when the page auto-submits, que url string keeps the parameters. I'd like to achieve the following: when the user clicks on http://myapp/user?action=edit&id=23 my page should receive the posted values action=edit and id=23 but the url should be just http://myapp/user and both parameters should be kept in the hidden texts... (I wonder if I make myself clear...) thanks a lot saludos sas ps: I have a couple of ideas about how to solve it, but I'll post them as answers...

  I would like to deploy a Python Flask application on beanstalk. The application depends on external packages (e.g. geopy) and internal packages (e.g. adam_geography). The manual Create a requirements.txt file and place it in the top-level directory of your source bundle. This would probably fetch geopy and its dependencies, but would not fetch adam_geography which is available from a custom repo inside my VPC. How do I specify/upload private, internal Python package dependencies in a Beanstalk application?
