  • onServiceConnected never called after bindService method

    Hi, I have a particular situation: a service started by a broadcast receiver starts an activity. I want to make it possible for this activity to communicate back to the service. I have chosen to use AIDL to make it possible. Everything seems works good except for bindService() method called in onCreate() of the activity. bindService(), in fact, throws a null pointer exception because onServiceConnected() is never called while onBind() method of the service is. Anyway bindService() returns true. The service is obviously active because it starts the activity. I know that calling an activity from a service could sound strange, but unfortunately this is the only way to have speech recognition in a service. Thanks in advance

    I want to merge one .NET DLL assembly and one C# Class Library project referenced by a VB.NET Console Application project into one command-line console executable. I can do this with ILMerge from the command-line, but I want to integrate this merging of reference assemblies and projects into the Visual Studio project. From my reading, I understand that I can do this through a MSBuild Task or a Target and just add it to a C#/VB.NET Project file, but I can find no specific example since MSBuild is large topic. Moreover, I find some references that add the ILMerge command to the Post-build event. How do I integrate ILMerge into a Visual Studio (C#/VB.NET) project, which are just MSBuild projects, to merge all referenced assemblies (copy-local=true) into one assembly? How does this tie into a possible ILMerge.Targets file? Is it better to use the Post-build event?

  • CommunicationException with 'not recognized sequence' message in WCF.

    Hello, I get a CommunicationException while using WCF service. The message is: The remote endpoint no longer recognizes this sequence. This is most likely due to an abort on the remote endpoint. The value of wsrm:Identifier is not a known Sequence identifier. The reliable session was faulted. The exception is thrown in a moment after a contract method was called. Before calling contract method the channel state is Opened. I restore my service client after catching this exception and for some time it works fine. But then this error occures again. It seems like some timeout is exceeded, but I can't understand which one exactly. I use wsHttpBinding with reliableSession enabled. The InactivityTimeout is set to half an hour and I'm sure it's not exceeded, because exception is thrown earlier.

    I have a list of items in a WPF ListBox. I want to allow the user to select several of these items and click a Remove button to eliminate these items from the list. Using the MVVM RealyCommand pattern, I've created a command with the following signature: public RelayCommand<IList> RemoveTagsCommand { get; private set; } My ViewModel constructor sets up an instance of the command: RemoveTagsCommand = new RelayCommand<IList>(RemoveTags, CanRemoveTags); My current implementation of RemoveTags feels clunky, with casts and copying.     I have a WPF ResourceDictionary with the following TextBlock: <TextBlock Visibility="{Binding Converter={StaticResource MyBoolProp ResourceKey=BoolToVis}}"> </TextBlock> The ResourceDictionary is included in App.xaml under MergedDictionaries: <Application.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="MyResourceDictionary.xaml"/> Within the App.xaml I have defined the BoolToVis converter (again, under Application.Resources) <BooleanToVisibilityConverter x:Key="BoolToVis" /> When I start my app up - I get the following XamlParseException: "Provide value on 'System.Windows.Markup.StaticResourceHolder' threw an exception." The InnerException is: "Cannot find resource named 'BoolToVis'. Resource names are case sensitive." I'm able to refer to this converter directly with App.xaml (in fact, it's another TextBlock) and within other UserControls with no problems. This particular bit of code also worked fine under the .NET 4.0 RC (and Beta2). This error only started happening when I upgraded to the .NET 4.0 RTM. I'm able to work around it by declaring another BooleanToVisibilityConverter within MyResourceDictionary.xaml and referring to it like so: <TextBlock Visibility="{Binding Converter={StaticResource MyBoolProp ResourceKey=BoolToVis2}}"> </TextBlock> Any reason why I should need to do this?

  • RDLC filtering nested tables

    I am creating an RDLC report where the dataset consists of several datatables. There is one parent table and several child tables. What I would like to do is display relevant data from each child table for each row in the parent table. Here is a simplified example: table1 = "Purchase" has columns PurhcaseID, PurchaseNumber, PurchaseDate table2 = "PurchasedItem" has columns PurchaseItemID, PurhcaseID, ItemDescription In my RDLC, I have a Purchase table grouped on PurchaseDate and would like to display the PurchasedItems for each Purchase. The current solution uses a subreport, but I do not like this because it leaves an ugly empty space when there is no data for the subreport display. (I would be fine with using a subreport if I could properly hide it without leaving an empty space.) I am not able to rewrite the stored procedure to return a single table, either. How are others dealing with this scenario?

  • Open excel 2007 excel files and save as 97-2003 formats in VBA

    I have a weird situation where I have a set of excel files, all having the extension .xls., in a directory where I can open all of them just fine in Excel 2007. The odd thing is that I cannot open them in Excel 2003, on the same machine, without opening the file first in 2007 and going and saving the file as an "Excel 97-2003 Workbook". Before I save the file as an "Excel 97-2003 Workbook" from Excel 2007, when I open the excel files in 2003 I get the error that the file is not in a recognizable format. So my question is: if I already have the excel file opened in 2007 and I already have the file name of the open file stored in a variable, programatically how can I mimic the action of going up to the "office button" in the upper right and selecting, "save as" and then selecting "Excel 97-2003 Workbook"? I've tried something like the below but it does not save the file at all: ActiveWorkbook.SaveAs TempFilePath & TempFileName & ".xls", FileFormat:=56 Thanks for any help or guidance!

  • JQgrid - Get Row Number instead of ID

    Hello, all, I am creating a JQGrid from a database table that does not contain a single field primary key. Therefore, the field i am supplying as id is not unique and the same one exists in several rows. Because of this, when passing a reference to the data with ondblClickRow to a function external to the grid i need to use the rownumber and not the id. To test, I'm using ondblClickRow: function(id){alert($("#grid1").getInd('rowid'));}, , and i should be getting and alert with the row number, except that it isn't working. I've been over the documentation and can't understand what i am doing wrong... Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Mario.     Hi All, I'm still not sure this is the correct way to go about this, maybe not, but I'll ask anyway. I'd like to re-write wordpress (justification: because I can) albeit more simply myself in Django and I'm looking to be able to configure elements in different ways on the page. So for example I might have: Blog models A site update message model A latest comments model. Now, for each page on the site I want the user to be able to choose the order of and any items that go on it. In my thought process, this would work something like: class Page(models.Model) Slug = models.CharField(max_length=100) class PageItem(models.Model) Page = models.ForeignKey(Page) ItemType = models.CharField(max_length=100) InstanceNum = models.IntegerField() # all models have primary keys. Then, ideally, my template would loop through all the PageItems in a page which is easy enough to do. But what if my page item is a site update as opposed to a blog post? Basically, I am thinking I'd like to pull different item types back in different orders and display them using the appropriate templates. Now, I thought one way to do this would be to, in views.py, to loop through all of the objects and call the appropriate view function, return a bit of html as a string and then pipe that into the resultant template. My question is - is this the best way to go about doing things? If so, how do I do it? If not, which way should I be going? I'm pretty new to Django so I'm still learning what it can and can't do, so please bear with me. I've checked SO for dupes and don't think this has been asked before...

I have a bool property rendered like so: <%= Html.CheckBoxFor(m => m.Visible) %> And the outputted HTML is this: <input type="checkbox" value="true" name="Visible" id="Visible"> Is there some particular reason it does not add the "checked" attribute when the value is true?

  • Unable to mute the microphone in Android

    Hi, I'm working on an app that uses AudioRecord class to get input data from the phone mic. For some reason I'm unable to mute the mic. I have tried with different AudioSources (DEFAULT, MIC and VOICE_UPLINK) when creating the AudioRecord object, but there's no difference in the muting behaviour. The muting itself, I'm trying to achieve with AudioManager#setMicrophoneMute() method. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Im writing a small wcf/wpf app to resize images but wcf is giving me grief when I try to send an image of size 28K to my service from the client. The service works fine when I send it smaller images. I immediately assumed that this was a configuration issue and I've trawled the web looking at posts regarding the MaxArrayLength property in my binding configuration. Any ideas? edit: the email address in the userPrincipalName tag has been altered for my privacy
