• IE Hanging on jQuery code

  Here's another clichéd problem, but I couldn't find an exact match to this. I haven't posted any source here, as you can freely see all that is there on the link. :-) Statement:I have a web page at http://agrimgupta.com/antaragni/ Disclaimer: Pardon me for the pathetic coding on that page. ;-) It was done on a very short interval. Improvements will be done at a later stage. Observation: This page is functioning normally on my localhost on all browsers. Problem: IE 8 is crawling (nearly hanging) while loading this page from the website. Although it is working fine on localhost. When on the website, It fails to render the mouseover effects, doing them in almost what seems like a minute. Question: How to resolve this stuck up of IE? It is necessary to resolve this. • InvalidCastException: System.Web.UI.PartialCachingControl -> MyCustomControl when OutputCaching

  The problem: I am unable to use OutputCaching with my controls which derives from MyCustomControl. Controls are loaded dynamically using definitions from database with Page.LoadControl method. When I add to ascx <%@ OutputCache VaryByParam="*" Duration="3600"% the "InvalidCastException: System.Web.UI.PartialCachingControl - MyCustomControl" exception is thrown. I am unable to modify assembly witch contains dynamic loading controls logic. Is there any way to fix it in derived controls? The second question is about iis7 and native output caching - is it resolves this problem? (I tried to set up several performance counters and I saw that cache wasn't hit...)

• cakephp htaccess for production install

  So, I have cakephp installed in what I believed to be the appropriate way for production code with actual cake files above the public_html folder. The app folder is removed from the cake folder and placed at the same level. Loading the home page works fine with the databases and the debug working. However, in trying to run some test files I get a 404. Obviously, I need some way to direct something like www.example.com/posts/index to the proper location. I am not sure as to why this is necessary since the index.php file tells cake where the app directory is located? Also, if I need to use the .htaccess file, how do I point to the proper location and exactly what am I pointed at?

• Hiding instantiated templates in shared library created with g++

  I have a file that contains the following: #include <map> class A {}; void doSomething() { std::map<int, A> m; } When compiled into a shared library with g++, the library contains dynamic symbols for all the methods of std::map<int, A>. Since A is private to this file, there is no possibility that std::map will be instantiated in any other shared library with the same parameters, so I'd like to make the template instantiation hidden (for some of the reasons described in this document). I thought I should be able to do this by adding an explicit instantiation of the template class and marking it as hidden, like so: #include <map> class A {}; template class __attribute__((visibility ("hidden"))) std::map<int, A>; void doSomething() { std::map<int, A> m; } However, this has no effect: the symbols are still all exported. I even tried compiling with -fvisibility=hidden, but this also has no effect on the visibility of the methods of std::map<int, A> (although it does hide doSomething). The document I linked to above describes the use of export maps to restrict visibility, but that seems very tedious. Is there a way to do what I want in g++ (other than using export maps)? If so, what is it? If not, is there a good reason why these symbols must always be exported, or is this just a omission in g++?

  I have, in EF5, two entities: User and Role. Between User and Role there is a many to many relation. I don't have an entity for the UserRoles database which sets the relation. I have a User and I want to delete a role without loading it from the database. Context context = new Context(); User user = context.Users.First(x => x.Id == 4); user.Roles = new List<Role>(); Role role = new Role { Id = 20 }; context.Roles.Attach(role); user.Roles.Remove(role); context.SaveChanges(); I don't get any error but the role is not removed. • Twin edges - Half edge data structure

  I have implemented a Half-edge data structure for loading 3d objects. I find that the part of assigning twin/pair edges takes the longest computation time (especially for objects which have hundreds of thousands half edges). The reason is that I use nested loops to accomplish this. Is there a simpler and efficient way of doing this? Below is the code which I've written. HE is the half-edge data structure. hearr is a vector containing all the half edges. vert is the starting vertex and end is the ending vertex. Thanks!!   As the jQuery API is currently down, is anyone able to assist me with the below? • Callback exception/error handling for ASP TreeView OnTreeNodePopulate?

  We're using an asp:TreeView configured with lazy loading. The callback method assigned for OnTreeNodePopulate throws an exception if the user has been logged out since the page was loaded. What we want to do is to direct the user to the login page. First attempt was to catch the exception on the server and try Response.Redirect(...), but that doesn't work because you can't redirect within a callback. I've tried various other approaches, including using ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(...) but that doesn't seem to work for OnTreeNodePopulate. If there was some way we could hook into the callback event handling on the client side then it would be easy, but the TreeView doesn't seem to offer anything here. Suggestions?

• Zend Framework: How to handle exceptions in Ajax requests?

  Normally when an exception is thrown, Error controller takes command and displays error page with regular common header and footer. This behavior is not wanted in Ajax request. Because in case of error, whole html page is sent over. And in cases where I'm directly loading the content of http response in a div, this is even more unwanted. Instead in case of Ajax request, I just want to receive 'the actual error' thrown by exception. How can I do this? I think, one dirty way could be: set a var in ajax request and process accordingly. Not a good solution.

• Processing a method after the view has loaded..

  Hi ! I have implemented a subview which is supposed to load immediately when I click a button in the parent view. After loading the subview(which is basically holding an activityindicator), the program is supposed to process a method(which gets data from a server, so takes time) in it. However, I am unable to do it. What happens now is, when I click the button on the parent view, it processes the method first and only after that does the subview load on screen. Why is this so? Is there any specific functions I could use to make my method load only after the view has loaded?

• I just don't get the C++ Pointer/Reference system.

  I've never had problems with references as in Python (implicit) or PHP (explicit &). In PHP you write $p = &$myvar; and you have $p as a reference pointing to $myVar. So I know in C++ you can do this: void setToSomething( int& var ) { var = 123; } int myInt; setToSomething( myInt ); Myint is now 123, why? Doesn't & mean "memory address of" x in C++? What do I do then if var is only the adress to myInt and not a pointer? void setToSomething( int* var ) { var* = 123; } int myInt; int* myIntPtr = &myInt; setToSomething( myIntPtr ); Does the above work as expected? I don't understand the difference between * and & in C++ fully. They tell you & is used to get the adress of a variable, but why IN GODS NAME does that help you in functions etc. like in the first example?

  I have big web application using JQuery UI Tabs. In central JS file I have setted all tabs. Using $("#tabs").tabs; But on one page I need to have selected another tab than first. If I use $("#tabs").{ selected: add }); (name of tab is #add) Its not running, probably because Tabs are already set up. Does anyone know how to set opened another than first tab (in default state - after loading page) if tabs are already turned on? I hope, you will understand, my English is pretty terrible.

• Does jquery require timestamp on GET Calls in IE7?

Do I need to include a timestamp parameter to URL to avoid caching in all jQuery Ajax calls?

In each of these frames I target parent level elements and update them with there respective content e.g. $("#loadingGrid1",top.document).show(); $("#frameSkills",top.document).hide(); In jQuery is there a way to instead of targeting specific elements on the parent page multiple times, simply target the page once into a variable e.g. var parentPage=$('#frameSkills',top.document); And then use this variable to apply content like $(parentPage #loadingGrid1).hide() Hope I've explained what I'm after enough. Basically, I'm having to call "top.document" in every jQuery selector I make and it seems like a waste of energy.

  All, i have a problem with hibernate using netbean platform 6.8, i have been search around internet, but cannot found the suitable answer This is my story. i am using oracle database as data source of my hibernate entity with ojdbc14.jar driver. First i create hibernate entity tobe wrapped latter in a netbeans module, i tested the hibernate connection configuration and everything just works well. i can connect to oracle database successfuly, every hibernate query works well. Then i wrapped that hibernate entity jar as a netbeans module, create another module to warp my ojdbc14.jar then i test it. and, im using hibernate library dependency that available on netbean platform (netbean 6.8), but unfutornatelly i got oracle sql error saying “no suitable driver for [connection url]” when running the project. thats quite weird since it doesn’t happend when I test it before with out netbean platform. i thought that is related to netbeans lazy loading issue, i am not sure,. any idea ? tq for help

  Hi all, After I quit simulator and click build the app from XCode, the iPhone Simulator loading and my app will be install and run. But the app just show only Default image (finish the applicationDidFinishLaunching method - I logs it) and do nothing. I can't do anything in Simulator, event click the "Home" button of Simulator. But the other time, when Simulator already running, I select the "Build" button in XCode and everything is fine. Can you tell me why and how does this issue effect my app when I build it with real device? Thanks a lot!

I'm making a Hierarchical State Machine AI Building Tool for a game I'm creating and need to be able to import an existing C# file and store it in a database for retrieval in the future. • Firefox running infinitely even after condition met in jquery function

  The following function is called with setTimeout(function () { get_progress(fileID,fileName)},8000); upon a form submit. The purpose of the function is to get read_file.php to read a txt file that stores the file upload status from a form (in percentage). Upon reaching 80%, my Firefox seems to run infinitely even when HEAD returns an error. • How do i generate random data with RSA?

  After loading my RSACryptoServiceProvider rsa object i would like to create a key for my AES object. Since i dont need to store the AES key (i only need it to decrypt on my prv side) i figure i dont need to store it and i can generate it with my public key. I thought doing rsa.Encrypt(byte[] with 4 hardcoded bytes); would generate the data i need. It turns out everytime i call this function even with the same data i get different results. So theres no way for me to recreate the AES key if its different everytime. How can i generate data with RSA in a way that i can recreate anytime i need?

• How to make dll referenced by ActiveX component accessible?

  I have an ActiveX component developed in C#. I'm referencing a dll which comes with other native dlls and it is loading them on the fly expecting them to be in the same folder (probably using Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly().Location but not sure, I don't have control over them). There is also one ini file which is also expected to be in the same folder. When I run the application as Windows form app, everything is fine, of course. But the trouble comes when I run it within Internet Explorer as the base directory is at the location of iexplore.exe. Obviously neither the dlls or the ini file can be found and many temporary working files outputted by the dlls are located in Internet Explorer folder. The workaround is to copy all ddls and ini file into the ie folder but that is not something I'd be happy about. What is the proper solution to this? Can I somehow set the base path for the ActiveX component?
