• Inject WCF proxy with credentials using StructureMap

  I have a service proxy generated by svcutil which generated an interface(IStudentContract) and a concrete type implementing (StudentContractClient). I'd like to have instances of StudentContractClient injected into my classes via StructureMap.   I have an ASP.NET MVC application that uses Linq to SQL repositories for all interactions with the database. To deal with data security, I do trimming to filter data to only those items to which the user has access. This occurs in several places: Data in list views Links in a menu bar A treeview on the left hand side containing links to content Role-based security A special security attribute, inheriting from AuthorizeAttribute, that implements content-based authorization on every controller method. Each of these places instantiates a repository, which opens a Linq to Sql DataContext and accesses the database. So, by my count, each request for a page access opens at least six separate Linq to SQL DataContexts. Should I be concerned about this from a performance perspective, and if so, what can be done to mitigate it?

• Jquery Delay Function Calls

  I'm trying to find a way to delay all code that takes place after I make a service call. The reason for this delay is that my service returns code necesarry for the following functions and the result I pass is to these following functions is undefined. • retrieve comma delimited data from a field in using SQL

  I've created a form in php that collects basic information. I have a list box that allows multiple items selected (ie housing, rent, food, water). If multiple items are selected they are stored in a field called Needs seperated by a comma. I have created a report ordered by the persons needs. The people who only have one need are sorted correctly, but the people who have multiple are sorted exactly as the string passed to the database (ie. housing, rent, food, water) -- which is not what i want. Is there a way to seperate the multiple values in this field using SQL to count each need instance/occurance as 1 so that there are no comma delimitations shown in the results? CLICK FOR EXAMPLE

  I need a way to collapse duplicate (defined in terms of a string field with an id) results in solr. I know that such a feature is comming in the next version (1.5), but I can't wait for that. What would be the best way to remove duplicates using the current stable version 1.4? Given that finding duplicates in my case is really easy (comparison of a string field), should it be a Filter, should I overwrite the existing SearchComponent or write a new Component, or use some external libraries like carrot2? The overall result count should reflect the shortened result.

  Hi guys, I have no experience with jquery or javascript for that matter. I am trying to implement this technique to respond to users for errors or messages in general. lights-out-dimmingcovering-background-content-with-jquery This method uses the onclick event and that's not what im after, I have tried to replace .onclick with .load but that doesn't seem to work. I'm after a quick fix as I really don't have the time to learn jquery or its event handlers. The goal is to catch any errors or message's and once these are called the alert box is called without any further actions such as .onclick. • Tool used to retrieve code metrics in xUnit Test Patterns?

  I'm reading xUnit Test Patterns by Gerard Meszaros. On one of the pages he refers to some software metrics: While the need to wrap lines to keep them at 65 characters makes this code look even longer than it really is, it is still unnecessarily long. It contains 25 executable statements including initialized declarations, 6 lines of control statements, 4 in-line comments, and 2 lines to declare the test method—giving a total of 37 lines of unwrapped source code. Short of counting the statements to find these metrics, does anybody have any idea if he used a particular tool to calculate the metrics? (If you have any suggestions for tools that will count similar metrics, I'm looking for one that works on Java, Javascript and C++) Thanks!

  I need all possible permutations of a given string such that no character should remain at the same place as in the input string. Eg. : for input "ask" Output: all possible permutaions like "ksa", "kas"... such that 'a' is not in the 1st position , 's' is not in the 2nd positions and so on... in any permutation. I only need the count of such possible permutations I can do this by generating all permutations and filtering them but I need a very efficient way of doing this. All characters in the string are "UNIQUE" Preferred language C++.

• Django json serialization problem

  I am having difficulty serializing a django object. The problem is that there are foreign keys. I want the serialization to have data from the referenced object, not just the index. For example, I would like the sponsor data field to say "sponsor.last_name, sponsor.first_name" rather than "13".   How can i fetch the value 500 to a variable from the selected row? One solution would be to get the row position number and then the CustomerID position number. Can you please give a simple solution. SelectedItems means selected row and SubItems means the column values, so SelectedItem 0 and SubItem 0 would represent the value 500. Right? • Building html tables from query data... faster?

  With my limited experience/knowledge I am using the following structure to generate HTML tables on the fly from MySQL queries: $c = 0; $t = count($results); $table = '<table>'; while ($c < $t) { $table .= "<tr><td>$results[0]</td><td>$results[1]</td> (etc etc) </tr>"; ++$c; } $table .= '</table>'; this works, obviously. But for tables with 300+ rows there is a noticeable delay in pageload while the script builds the table. Currently the maximum results list is only about 1,100 rows, and the wait isn't long, but there's clearly a wait. Are there other methods for outputting an HTML table that are faster than my WHILE loop? (PHP only please...)

• Excel 2003 - ADDRESS() function issues

  I finally thought I had found a way to acutally use excel productively but the code that I followed does not appear to work. I'm thinking that the code is very limited and can't do what I want but I thought I'd ask to confirm - maybe it is my function that is the problem. I want to calculate the sum of a row of values for the previous month based on how many days we are into this month (i.e. It is the 20th of April so I want to sum the first 20 days of March to compare against.) =SUM(G4:ADDRESS(ROW(),7+$BR$3,4)) I basically want to SUM(G4:AA4) and have used the address function to return the cell reference AA4 by taking G4 and adding 20 to the column count. ADDRESS(ROW(),7+$BR$3,4) This successfully returns AA7 as expected HOWEVER, when I try to use the returning value in the SUM() function it throws an error... Am I not able to use this reference in my calculation?

  i have set up a twitter client on my iphone using mgtwitterengine. i've managed to set it up so i can tweet and recieve status updates. using the standard set up you can only receive between 10&20 updates. to be able to receive more updates then that you have to put[_engine getFollowedTimelineSinceID:0 startingAtPage:0 count:50]; but this does not allow you to get more than the original amount untill you activateif (params) { fullPath = [self _queryStringWithBase:fullPath parameters:params prefixed:YES]; } in SA_OAuthTwitterEngine.m. my problem is when i do this i can no longer post a new status from my app. i can have upto 200 statuses in the stream but no posting capabilities. this is the error:Error Domain=HTTP Code=401 "The operation couldn’t be completed. This satisfies the need but looks inefficient as it will involve copying of all the records into an array first.

• How can i see if dealloc is being called on a uikit object, or any object not created by myself

  I think i have an UIImage that has a higher retain count than it should have and i am probably leaking memory. I use this image as a thumbnail, to set a custom background to a uibutton. So the uibutton is holding a reference to it and so do i. But instead of 2, the retainCount is 3. Do i have to create a custom UIImage derived class and override dealloc if I want to place a log message there and then change the class used from UIImage to my class, or is there an easier way.   I want to display the number of new(unseen) guest entries in the guest book of a user. I was thinking to count it so that, total number of entries in guestbook minus entries in guestbook at time of last login. However, I think that is not a good approach, because if the user logs in but does not go to his guestbook, in that case, the entries should be still "new", also if some new entry is posted in the user while he is online, it does not work in that case too. Any suggested please?

My intention is to only retrieve the queries that can be displayed on a single page, thus making the process efficient. I tried using two queries in my function, but I could not return two variables to the cfinvoke.
