  • Why does vbkeyup produce different results than vbkeydown does in this Code.

    I have a VB6 app. It consists of a flexgrid. I have code to allow the user to press the up or down arrow key to switch rows in the grid. When the down arrow key is pressed the cursor is placed at the end of the text in the next row, but when the Up arrow key is pressed the cursor is placed in the middle of the text of the previous row. Anybody have any explantion for this.     When the user visits a page that contains a signed ActiveX control that has never been seen before, I'd expect IE to ask the user for permission to install the control. But sometimes IE puts up a security warning instead. For example, consider this site, which has a test control: http://www.pcpitstop.com/testax.asp I'd expect to get this message -- and sometimes, I do: "The website wants to run the following add-on: 'XXX' from 'YYY'. If you trust the the website and the add-on and want to allow it to run, click here..." But under IE8 on XP, I usually get this instead: "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this site from showing certain content. Click here for options..." What's going on?     I would like to make a "First Access Database Setup Process" in my spring application and the only thing I can imagine as a solution would be to initialize the DataSource bean programatically. The scenario is that the user (administrator) comes to the application at the first time and I ask him the server, port and catalog to connect. I store it in a embeeded db and next time application start, a bean can check if the parameter are set on the embedded db and load it again. Is it possible?

  • C code autocomplete in Eclipse

    Hi, I'm a Java developer and I've downloaded the Eclipse for C (course purposes) and to my amazement the control+space shortcut (for autocomplete) did not work. I've created a new project and a new class using the wizzards and started to type "print" and then tried to find an autocomplete feature. After a bit of googling I arrived at C/C++-Editor-Content Assist-Advanced and there I verified that Help proposals,Parsing-based proposals and Template proposals options were checked. I then went over to the Keys preferences page using the link at that page and entered a binding for all relevant content assist from before C\C++ Content Assist (type...) and chose in the When box the C\C++ Editor option. But alas no autocompletion was offered. Can someone please point me to the right direction? Thanks, Ittai

    I have a wcf service consumed by a silverlight 3 control. The Silverlight client uses a basicHttpBindinging that is constructed at runtime from the control's initialization parameters like this: public static T GetServiceClient<T>(string serviceURL) { BasicHttpBinding binding = new BasicHttpBinding(Application.Current.Host.Source.Scheme.Equals("https", StringComparison.InvariantCultureIgnoreCase) ? Calls were returning as expected until the result set increased to several thousand rows at which time HTTP 401.1 errors were received. The Service's HttpBinding defines closeTime, openTimeout, receiveTimeout and sendTimeOut of 10 minutes. If I limit the size of the resultset the call suceeds. Additional Observations from Fiddler: When Method2 is modified to return a smaller resultset (and avoid the problem), control initialization consists of 4 calls: Service1/Method1 -- result:401 Service1/Method1 -- result:401 (this time header includes element "Authorization: Negotiate TlRMTV..." Service1/Method1 -- result:200 Service1/Method2 -- result:200 (1.25 seconds) When Method2 is configured to return the larger resultset we get: Service1/Method1 -- result:401 Service1/Method1 -- result:401 (this time header includes element "Authorization: Negotiate TlRMTV..." Service1/Method1 -- result:200 Service1/Method2 -- result:401.1 (7.5 seconds) Service1/Method2 -- result:401.1 (15ms) Service1/Method2 -- result:401.1 (7.5 seconds)

When I try to File.Move() my updated files to C:\Program Files on Windows 7, I get the following error: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files\<company>\<app>\<app.exe>' is denied. I am not given a UAC prompt. The exe that I am trying to update is not currently running.

    Sorry for my Dummy Question, but... I am making a script on php/mysql (codeigniter) and I am extremally interested in knowing if there is a way without big architectural changes of the script make a load balancing. I mean, that for example now I will rent a medium dedicated server with 2GB ram, 200GB memory and good processor, and this will be enough lets say half year for the users which will come. But when they will become more and more, and as its a social net and at nights the server is waiting to have 500-1500 or 5000-8000 users online, I wander if there is a way for lets say just add second server with some config which will bear next pressure. After again one and so on... ???? <? if($answer=YES) { how(??); } esle{ whatToDo(??); } ?> If there is no way, than maybe you could point to a easiest way of load balancing solution.... I will be extremally thanksfull if you can tell me for such purposes , should I move lets say to PostgreSQl or FireBird? Which of them will be more easy in the future to handle ? I am getting on the mysite.com/users/show/$userId page something like 60queries for all data... maybe too much, but anyway....after some optimization it can be 20-30....

    I'm using Structure and have a "Supernav" page with multiple children that will make up the supernav for the site. I thought this would be a nice way to have all pages on the site accessible to the client via one location: the Structure UI. If you visit any of the child pages in the "supernav" group the URL comes out like this: http://website.com/supernav/prospective-students I'd love to be able to remove the supernav segment of those URLs so that it ends up being: http://website.com/prospective-students I don't even want the supernav segment to appear in the status bar when you hover over these links on the page. Is this possible? With CodeIgniter this comes down to a simple routing rule, but I don't know if that's an option with EE. Appreciate any help I can get!

    In c# there are attributes such as [obsolete] that create compiler warnings that will be shown in visual studio. Is there an attribute that I can use to mark a method or a class with a comment that should be shown as a warning in visual studio when I compile?     Hi, We have a web based client-server product. The client is expected to be used in the upwards of 1M users (a famous company is going to use it). Our server is set up in the cloud. One of the major questions while designing is how to make the whole program future proof. Say: Cloud provider goes down, then move automatically to backup in another cloud Move to a different server altogether etc The options we thought till now are: DNS: Running a DNS name server on the cloud ourselves. Directory server - The directory server also lives on the cloud Have our server returning future movements and future URLs etc to the client - wherein the client is specifically designed to handle those scenarios Since this should be a usual problem, which is the best solution for the same? Since our company is a very small one, we are looking at the least technically and financially expensive solution (say option 3 etc)? Could someone provide some pointers for the same? K
