  • Eclipse RCP File Explorer

    - by yournamehere
Is there a good Eclipse RCP file explorer out there? I need a platform independent file explorer which should be extensible through plugins. I only found File Arranger , wich seems to be outdated. I just ask cause i want to develop such an explorer, but it wouldn't make sense if there is already a solution out there.

  • Advantages/disadvantages of Glassfish v3 Prelude vs Springsource dm server for Web applications?

    - by cletus
Both of these appservers are at least in part OSGI based. One (Glassfish) is obviously J2EE while the other isn't. Now I'm at the stage of choosing a platform for a new project and the natural choice is Glassfish v3 Prelude. This does raise the issue of perhaps we should be using S2AP instead. The question then is this: does the springsource dm server offer any compelling reason to use it over Glassfish? And vice versa.

  • How can I get Silverlight 4 Tools to work in Web Developer 2010 Express?

    - by Edward Tanguay
I installed Windows 7. I then installed Web Developer 2010 Express from here with the Web Platform Installer. I then installed the the April 15 release of Silverlight Toolkit from here. I then added this reference: Then in my XAML, I reference it like this but it gives me no intellisense and tells me that I am missing an assembly reference: What do I have to do to use the Silverlight 4 Toolkit in Web Developer 2010 Express?

  • How can we detect hotkeys registered by other apps?

    - by worlds-apart89
Is it possible to detect all the hotkeys registered by the OS as well as software applications currently running? Any native or managed approach on the Windows platform? I know that the RegisterHotKey function returns false if the hotkey is already registered, but what I am looking for is an approach, method, etc. that will give me a list of registered hotkeys. Looping all possible combinations with RegisterHotKey does not sound like a good idea. Anything more efficient?

  • Why was .NET called .NET?

    - by compie
I always wondered why Microsoft chose such a strange, search-engine-unfriendly name for such a great platform. Couldn't they have come up with something better? Apparently the codename was NGWS: Microsoft started development on the .NET Framework in the late 1990s originally under the name of Next Generation Windows Services (NGWS). [Wikipedia] Does anyone know why they chose the name .NET?

  • Perl SDL Windows Installation

    - by Blaise Roth
I'm using Windows and I need the SDL Library to start using SDL with Perl. I've been pointed to http://www.libsdl.org/ to download it. My first queston is, which library do I want from that page? There's 3 to choose from... Then I've been pointed to 4 other SDL extensions by this page: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/news/2006/02/games-perl.ars. From those I've found there's a normal Win32 version and also a devel one. Which do I want? Thanks.

  • What's the point of Mono on Windows

    - by Adam Haile
This may be a dumb question...but I was just looking into the Mono project and they have a section about installing Mono on Windows. But, since Windows obviously already has the .NET runtime can anyone tell me what exactly is the point of having Mono for Windows? Does it help with cross platform development or something?

  • Technologies and standards in a Kindle

    - by danke
I'm using the Kindle as an example of an embedded system to illustrate some points I'm making in a paper. Since I'm not an expert in all the technologies used, can those aware of them point them out. For example: the GUI is programmed in embedded Java (which is probably a bad choice) Whispernet is used for the wireless platform What are the libraries or underlying technologies and standards that this device uses?

Till now my search in google is turning futile. In the meantime I think i will get my answer here quickly. Is it possible to connect Aruna using DSN less method? Thanks in advance guys.

    I have a database table full of game by game results and want to know if I can calculate the following: GP (games played) Wins Loses Points (2 points for each win, 1 point for each lose) Here is my table structure: CREATE TABLE `results` ( `id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL auto_increment, `home_team_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, `home_score` int(3) unsigned NOT NULL, `visit_team_id` int(10) unsigned NOT NULL, `visit_score` int(3) unsigned NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=7 ; And a few testing results: INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(1, 1, 21, 2, 25); INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(2, 3, 21, 4, 17); INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(3, 1, 25, 3, 9); INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(4, 2, 7, 4, 22); INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(5, 1, 19, 4, 20); INSERT INTO `results` VALUES(6, 2, 24, 3, 26); Here is what a final table would look like: +-------------------+----+------+-------+--------+ | Team Name | GP | Wins | Loses | Points | +-------------------+----+------+-------+--------+ | Spikers | 4 | 4 | 0 | 8 | | Leapers | 4 | 2 | 2 | 6 | | Ground Control | 4 | 1 | 3 | 5 | | Touch Guys | 4 | 0 | 4 | 4 | +-------------------+----+------+-------+--------+

  • MinGW/GCC Delay Loaded DLL equivalent?

    - by VoiDeD
Hello, I'm trying to port some old MSVC C++ code to MinGW/GCC. One problem is that the project relies heavily on the /DELAYLOAD option for functions that aren't always used, and where the proper dll is located at runtime. Is there such a similar option on MinGW/GCC? This code is targeting the windows platform.

  • How do I write a std::codecvt facet?

    - by Billy ONeal
How do I write a std::codecvt facet? I'd like to write ones that go from UTF-16 to UTF-8, which go from UTF-16 to the systems current code page (windows, so CP_ACP), and to the system's OEM codepage (windows, so CP_OEM). Cross-platform is preferred, but MSVC on Windows is fine too. Are there any kinds of tutorials or anything of that nature on how to correctly use this class?

  • Distributed Lucene.NET

    - by user72185
Hi, I have a Terabyte of data, maybe more, which I'd like to index and search with Lucene. I'd like to be able to split the index out to different machines, similar to what Solr does (if I understand Solr correctly). Are there any existing tools to do this on the Windows platform? Thanks!
