  • How can I view locking on a file on a file?

    Hi all, We have a database file (foxpro) on a Windows share (2003 server), we're having some problems where the program that writes to this file has to retry as the file is locked, this all happens very quickly and within a few seconds the file is available but the problem is it shouldn't be locked. Does anyone know how we can view what's locking it? Any tools available? Thanks James

  • Firefox appending .xls extension to .xlsx files

    We are serving files with the .xlsx (excel 2007/2010) extension. IE, Chrome, Safari all download the file and open excel just fine. Firefox is being stupid. For some reason it's appending .xls to the extension. I found this: https://support.mozilla.com/bs/questions/758363 However, the instructions weren't very specific and completely unclear to me. How can I tell Firefox not to screw with the file extension? Thanks,

  • HttpSendRequest not getting latest file from server

    I am having an issue with my HTTP requests in my app, such that if the remote file is the same size as the local file (even though its modified time is different, as its contents have been changed), attempts to download it return quickly and the newer file is not downloaded. In short, the process I am following is: Setting up an HTTP connection with the INTERNET_FLAG_RESYNCHRONIZE flag and calling HttpSendRequest(); then checking the HTTP status code and finding it to be "200". If the remote file is updated, but remains the same size as the local copy: The local file is unchanged after running the app. If I call HttpQueryInfo() with HTTP_QUERY_LAST_MODIFIED after sending the request, it gives me the actual last modified time of the server's file, which I can see is different from the local file I am trying to have it overwrite. If the remote file is updated, and the file size becomes different from the local copy: It is downloaded and overwrites the local copy as expected.   • Publishing artifacts with sources on archiva

    At work I'm dipping my toes in managing project dependencies with maven. We use Apache Archiva (1.2.1) as a local repository and proxy. I'm adding artifact for open source project, that is not published on any public repository. I've learned that to publish the sources I should use the Classifier field on Upload artifact page. The sources are then listed alongside the jar and pom when I browse the repository. But when I update my maven dependencies I get only the jar and pom from the repository. I noticed that sources are also missing when the archiva proxies for me the downloads from other public repositories. I didn't find any configuration options in Archiva's admin pages to serve the sources... What am I missing? Update: I was missing the fact that artifact sources have to be downloaded manually. I.e. the maven client has to request them, which is controlled by command line option -DdownloadSources=true. Maven Integration for Eclipse has a preference setting to always download them as described in Resolving artifact sources. Archiva then serves the sources for local artifacts or proxies the request to remote repositories and caches the sources for future requests.

  • Any good source of explanatory documentation on ColorMatrix?

    I'd like to try using ColorMatrix, but am only able to find examples that convert an image to grayscale. And even then, they tend to be presented as a chunk of 'magic numbers' code with no explanation. Does anyone know of a 'tutorial' on how to use ColorMatrix? For example I'd be interested in converting a grayscale image to a color image, where white == transparent, and black = a solid color, with gray pixels somewhere in between. Could ColorMatrix do that?

    Hi! I have a gcc project and would like to automatically add defines for build date and revision number (from git) to my sources. What's the best way to do this? My goal is simple to be able to do something like this on startup: printf("Test app build on %s, revision %d", BUILD_DATE, REVISION) For building I'm using make with a simple Makefile.inc, not autoconf ot anything like this.   • iphone app to read text files.

    Hi, Need to edit some of the local text files on my iphone but so far all the apps I have downloaded do not navigate the OS3 file tree for me to load and edit them. I need to do this on my iphone as I can no longer access via ssh or with the iphone cable. One of the files to edit is a ssh config file which is what is not allowing ssh connections.   • How do you find out release, mailing list statistics information on open source projects

    We are interested in finding out some statistics of various frameworks Mailing list activity on say richfaces. Much similar to what is available on http://code.google.com (Low, Medium, High) + average number of emails per day | per month. Number of releases made in a year including patch, minor, major releases. We did look at the maven repositories but that wasn't very useful either. We did look at ohloh, but didn't get the desired information. Any other ideas on where to get this information (any maven-2 plugins)?

    Hi, we'd like to measure "client side web site performance". i.e. we would like to have answers to the following questions: how long did it takt to load and render a webpage (including alle graphics scripts etc.) this bundled with additional informations like user-agent, operating system etc. a graphical tool to analyze the data would be perfect I know jiffy ( http://code.google.com/p/jiffy-web/wiki/Jiffy_js ) but that isn't maintained anymore. I would prefer either a hosted solution (like google analytics) or a java based solution that we deploy for ourselves. Do you know something like that? Thanks, Marc

  • Delphi: Alternative to using Reset/ReadLn for text file reading

    i want to process a text file line by line. In the olden days i loaded the file into a StringList: slFile := TStringList.Create(); slFile.LoadFromFile(filename); for i := 0 to slFile.Count-1 do begin oneLine := slFile.Strings[i]; //process the line end; Problem with that is once the file gets to be a few hundred megabytes, i have to allocate a huge chunk of memory; when really i only need enough memory to hold one line at a time. (Plus, you can't really indicate progress when you the system is locked up loading the file in step 1). The i tried using the native, and recommended, file I/O routines provided by Delphi: var f: TextFile; begin Reset(f, filename); while ReadLn(f, oneLine) do begin //process the line end; Problem withAssign is that there is no option to read the file without locking (i.e. fmShareDenyNone). The former stringlist example doesn't support no-lock either, unless you change it to LoadFromStream: slFile := TStringList.Create; stream := TFileStream.Create(filename, fmOpenRead or fmShareDenyNone); slFile.LoadFromStream(stream); stream.Free; for i := 0 to slFile.Count-1 do begin oneLine := slFile.Strings[i]; //process the line end; So now even though i've gained no locks being held, i'm back to loading the entire file into memory. Is there some alternative to Assign/ReadLn, where i can read a file line-by-line, without taking a sharing lock? i'd rather not get directly into Win32 CreateFile/ReadFile, and having to deal with allocating buffers and detecting CR, LF, CRLF's. i thought about memory mapped files, but there's the difficulty if the entire file doesn't fit (map) into virtual memory, and having to maps views (pieces) of the file at a time. Starts to get ugly. i just want Reset with fmShareDenyNone!

  • WinPE, Startnet.CMD and passing variables to second batch file not working

    I don't know scripting or PowerShell (yes I need to learn something). I'm not an expert batch file maker either. I have a WinPE flash drive which I used to deploy OS images. I have the WIM, drivers and anything needed else outside the WinPE environment to ensure that Updates, changes are easier for me to make. I use the "STARTNET.CMD" batch file which is part of the WinPE. The reason to go through the letter drives is that the WinPE always gets the X letter drive assigned. The flash drive itself can receive a random letter which always changes. My deployment menu is located on the flash drive it self and not inside the WinPE. This is so that if I need to make a change I don't have to re-do the WinPE. I am able to locate the "menu.bat" batch file and launch it. I use a variable to capture the letter drive. I call the second batch file named "menu.bat" and pass the variable to it. When the second batch file loads, I believe that I am calling the variable correctly. If I break out of the batch file I can echo the variable and see the expected reply. The issue is that I can't use the variable to work with anything on the second batch file. In my test, I can get this to work over and over. When it runs from the real USB flash drive it does not work. I removed comments from the second batch file to make it smaller. My issue is that files below all get a message stating that the system cannot find the path specified.   • Row Source - combo box, filtering what pops up in a combo box by date

    so I have a combo box that I want to pop up when somebody wants to search by year. It will allow them to see in that combo box only results that happened in a certain year. so far I have something like SELECT DISTINCT Database_New.ASEC FROM Database_New WHERE (((Database_New.Date) >= DateValue('01/01/2001') AND (((Database_New.Date) <= DateValue('12/031/2001'))); or SELECT DISTINCT Database_New.ASEC FROM Database_New WHERE (((Database_New.Date) >= BETWEEN DateValue('01/01/2001') AND DateValue('12/31/2001’))); as you can see, the kicker is that I am already sorting the thing with SELECT DISTINCT under the ASEC field. But I want to filter it one more by year so a whole bunch of ASEC values that didnt happen in that year (and there are quite a few that happen rarely, or would onyl be associeted with one year) do not pop up as avalible. so far I get an error like "Syntax error in query expression '(((Database_New.Date) = DateValue('01/01/2001') AND (((Database_New.Date) <= DateValue('12/031/2001')))' and I am a VBA person, not quite as good at debuggin SQL. Is it something easy? or will it simply not work the way I have it set up.

  • Javascript source code analysis ( specifically duplication checking )

    Partial duplicate of this Notes: I already use JSLint extensively via a tool I wrote that scans in intervals my current project directory for recently updated/created .js files. It's drastically improved productivity for me and I doubt there is anything as good as JSLint for the price (it's free). That said, is there any analysis tool out there that can find repetitive or near-duplicate code blocks, the goal being to make it easier to find opportunities to consolidate large files or small/medium sized projects?
