  • Python try/except: Showing the cause of the error after displaying my variables

    I'm not even sure what the right words are to search for. I want to display parts of the error object in an except block (similar to the err object in VBScript, which has Err.Number and Err.Description). For example, I want to show the values of my variables, then show the exact error. Clearly, I am causing a divided-by-zero error below, but how can I print that fact? try: x = 0 y = 1 z = y / x z = z + 1 print "z=%d" % (z) except: print "Values at Exception: x=%d y=%d " % (x,y) print "The error was on line ..." print "The reason for the error was ..."

  • VBA Excel - Workbook_SheetChange

    Hopefully this question hasn't already been asked, I tried searching for an answer and couldn't find anything. This is probably a simple question, but I am writing my first macro in excel and am having a problem that I can't find out a solution to. I wrote a couple of macros that basically sum up columns dynamically (so that the number of rows can change and the formula moves down automatically) based on a value in another column of the same row, and I call those macros from the event Workbook_SheetChange. The problem I'm having is, I change a cell's value from my macro to display the result of the sum, and this then calls Workbook_SheetChange again, which I do not want. Right now it works, but I can trace it and see that Workbook_SheetChange is being called multiple times. This is preventing me from adding other cell changes to the macros, because then it results in an infinite loop. I want the macros to run every time a change is made to the sheet, but I don't see any way around allowing the macros to change a cell's value, so I don't know what to do. I will paste my code below, in case it is helpful.     MSDN states the following SortedSet(T).Add Method : If Count is less than the capacity of the internal array, this method is an O(1) operation. Could someone please explain "how so"? I mean when adding new value we need to find a correct place to add a value (comparing it with another values) and internal implementation looks like a "Red-Black tree" with O (log N) insertion complexity.

The zero part is working, but I can't figure out the syntax for rows that have an index greater than 0. For the tr[0] row, I'm doing this: if($("#mytable > tbody > tr ").index(0)) { ... I tried: if($("#mytable > tbody > tr ").index() > 0 ) { But, that didn't work?

  • Length of current selection in Eclipse

    Do you know any easy way to know what is the length of current selection in Eclipse? I.e. I select a line fragment and would like to know how many characters are there? Usually I count them manually, but that's stupid. When being desperate I move to the start, check the column number, move to the end, check the column number, subtract, think a minute if I should add 1 or not... and my selection is lost.

  • JS 2 minute countdown then execute a function?

    I'm not that great at Javascript, for the record! I DO know how to use ajax. I just need a bit of help. I'm having a hard time figuring out how to display a 5 minute countdown, and once the countdown hits zero, to run a function. I need to pass a variable to the function that needs to run. I tried SetInterval but this isn't exactly my strong suit. Does anyone have any suggestions? I can post the code I've got, but I would equate it to a gorilla fumbling in the dark at a typewriter!

    I have two separate socket projects in VS.NET. One of them is sender, other one is receiver. After starting receiver, i send data from sender. Although send method returns 13 bytes as successfully transferred, the receiver receives 0 (zero). The receiver accepts sender socket and listens to it. But cannot receive data. Why? P.S. : If sender code is put in receiver project, receiver can get data, as well.

  • Problem with Silverlight/wpf in scrolling html div.

    Hi all, I have a Silverlight object sitting at the bottom of a scrollable div. This object is submitted to a wcf backend via a javascript button. The problem is, as the silverlight is at the bottom of the scrollable div it is not viewable until you have scrolled down. This is generating an error when the javascript button is clicked ( if i havent scrolled down ) awfully strange, or am i just an idiot :/ if i scroll down so the silverlight object, so it is in view it submits just fine. The error i got is an alert type error which says : The parameter value must be greater than zero. Parameter name: pixelWidth This seems to be returned from the wcf service. What could cause this?   • getElementsByTagName returns 0-length list when called from didFinishLoad delegate

    I'm using the Chromium port of WebKit on Windows and I'm trying to retrieve a list of all of the images in my document. I figured the best way to do this was to implement WebKit::WebFrameClient::didFinishLoading like so: WebNodeList list = document->getElementsByTagName(L"img"); for (size_t i = 0; i < list.length(); ++i) { // Manipulate images here... } However, when this delegate fires, list.length() returns 0. The only times I've seen it return a list of non-zero length is when I substitute "body" or "head" for "img". Strangely enough, if I call getElementsByTagName(L"img") outside of the delegate, it works correctly. I'm guessing that the DOM isn't fully loaded when didFinishLoading is called, but that would seem to contradict the delegate's name. Does anyone know what I may be missing here?

    Everytime the IWpfTextView's TextBuffer changes I am trying to get the history's redostack and undostack and simply checking the count. When doing this I am encountering a "Method not supported exception" when trying to access the two stacks. Am I retrieving the history incorrectly or does VS not want me seeing/editing the contents of the stacks? I can post the code if necessary... Thanks, Nick

    I have a third party api, which has a class that returns an enumerator for different items in the class. I need to remove an item in that enumerator, so I cannot use "for each". Only option I can think of is to get the count by iterating over the enum and then run a normal for loop to remove the items. Anyone know of a way to avoid the two loops? Thanks

I get this runtime error message: java.util.EnumSet.EnumSetImpl is not default instantiable (it must have a zero-argument constructor or no constructors at all) and has no custom serializer.     In one of my UIViewControllers, I am calling initWithNibName:bundle: for several other UIViewControllers. I am grabbing the view property in each of those dynamically created controllers and placing them, one after the other, in my parent view. For instance, the y offset of viewControllerB should be equal to the height of viewControllerA. The y offset of viewControllerC should be equal to the height of viewControllerB, and so on. I am initalizing these nibs in viewDidLoad, yet none of them have any meaningful bounds or frame properties. The sizes and positions of each are all zero. Where is the 'correct' place to do this type of operation so that I can grab meaningful values from these properties?

I have a SELECT querry that exclude every entry associated to a banned userID currently I have a subquerry clause in the WHERE statement that goes like AND (SELECT COUNT(*) FROM TheBlackListTable WHERE userID = userList.ID AND blackListedID = :userID2 ) = 0 Which will accept every userID not present in the TheBlackListTable Would it be faster to retrieve first all Banned ID in a previous request and replace the previous clause by AND creatorID NOT IN listOfBannedID Thank you!
