  • php replace regular expression

    - by Enkay
I need to use php to add a space between a period and the next word/letter when there's none. For example, "This is a sentence. This is the next one." needs to become "This is a sentence. This is the next one." Notice the added space after the first period. My problem is that even if I'm able to make a regular expression that finds every dot followed by a letter, how do I then replace that dot with a "dot + space" and keep the letter? Also it needs to keep the case of the letter, lower or upper. Thanks for your input.

  • PHP regular expression

    - by Ferol
such text: $text = ' href="http://yahoo.com" target="_blank"> link text </a> text... text... <br> text...'; // $text = ' text... <a href="http://yahoo.com" target="_blank"> link text </a> text... text... <br> text...'; and such regular expression: preg_match_all('/^(.*)(<.+>)(.*)(<\/.+>)(.*)$/',$text,$matches); what I want, - to check if text matches the regular expression. If yes, then $matches should contain parts of string above, if not (as I guess) it should contain four zero-length arrays. something is wrong, but I can't find, what actually is?

  • XBAP Browser Control - Invoking Click event of the html Input type button

    - by maharaj
Hi, Here is what I have. 1.XBAP application with WPF Browser control, hosted on Page1.xaml 2.XBAP in Full Trust, certificate installed in client browser 3.Once the XBAP loaded, the browser control is navigated to some third party site. 4.We are using MVVM for XAML stuff So, when a certain page is loaded, I attach click event handler to the input button with id="submit" on the html page displayed in the browser control (used the code similar to whats in this URL http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/wpf/thread/a4f0e4d0-78bf-44c5-a3fe-8faf2e7a0568/). It works just fine as long as I dont make a wcf web service call in my ViewModel, before or after I attach this event hander. Idea is to invoke the click event for the html button and grab the data from the html page before calling the webservice to save data from the page. Here is the issue: When I make the wcf webservice call (sync or async, it doesnt matter) the click event doesnt happen but if I comment out the the code for wcf service call the click event of the html input of type button gets invoked. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Salil

  • Search for a String and replace it with a variable

    - by chrissygormley
Hello, I am trying to use regular expression to search a document fo a UUID number and replace the end of it with a new number. The code I have so far is: read_file = open('test.txt', 'r+') write_file = open('test.txt', 'w') r = re.compile(r'(self.uid\s*=\s*5EFF837F-EFC2-4c32-A3D4\s*)(\S+)') for l in read_file: m1 = r.match(l) if m1: new=(str,m1.group(2)) new?????? This where I get stuck. The file test.txt has the below UUID stored in it: self.uid = '5EFF837F-EFC2-4c32-A3D4-D15C7F9E1F22' I want to replace the part D15C7F9E1F22. I have also tried this: r = re.compile(r'(self.uid\s*=\s*)(\S+)') for l in fp: m1 = r.match(l) new=map(int,m1.group(2).split("-") new[4]='RHUI5345JO' But I cannot seem to match the string. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Removing text within parentheses (parentheses within parentheses prob)

    - by TenJack
Hi, I am trying to remove text that is within parentheses (along with the parentheses themselves) but am having trouble with the scenario where there are parentheses within parentheses. This is the method I am using (in Ruby): sentence.gsub(/\(.*?\)/, "") and that works fine until I have a sentence such as: "This is (a test (string))" Then the above chokes. Anyone have any idea how to do this? I am completely stumped.

  • Backbone.js Collection Iteration Using .each()

    - by the_archer
I've been doing some Backbone.js coding and have come across a particular problem where I am having trouble iterating over the contents of a collection. The line Tasker_TodoList.each(this.addOne, this);in the addAll function in AppView is not executing properly for some reason, throwing the error: Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function the code in question is: $(function() { var Todo = Backbone.Model.extend({ defaults: { title: "Some Title...", status: 0 //not completed } }); var TodoList = Backbone.Collection.extend({ model: Todo, localStorage: new Store('tasker') }); var Tasker_TodoList = new TodoList(); var TodoView = Backbone.View.extend({ tagName: 'li', template: _.template($('#todoTemplate').html()), events: { 'click .delbtn': 'delTodo' }, initialize: function(){ console.log("a new todo initialized"); //this.model.on('change', this.render, this); }, render: function(){ this.$el.html(this.template(this.model.toJSON())); return this; }, delTodo: function(){ console.log("deleted todo"); } }); var AppView = Backbone.View.extend({ el: 'body', events: { 'click #addBtn': 'createOnClick' }, initialize: function(){ Tasker_TodoList.fetch(); Tasker_TodoList.on('add', this.addAll); console.log(Tasker_TodoList); }, addAll: function(){ $('#tasksList').html(''); console.log("boooooooma"); Tasker_TodoList.each(this.addOne, this); }, addOne: function(todo){ console.log(todo); }, createOnClick: function(){ Tasker_TodoList.create(); } }); var Tasker = new AppView(); }); can somebody help me in finding out what I am doing wrong? Thank you all for your help :-)

  • Ruby: backslash all non-alphanumeric characters in a string

    - by HBlend
I have a script where I need to take a user's password and then run a command line using it. I need to backslash all (could be more then one) non-alphanumeric characters in the password. I have tried several things at this point including the below but getting no where. This has to be easy, just missing it. Tried these and several others: password = password.gsub(/(\W)/, '\\1') password = password.gsub(/(\W)/, '\\\1') password = password.gsub(/(\W)/, '\\\\1')

  • Limiting input to specified regexp with uppercase chars in IE

    - by pixelboy
I'm trying to limit what our users will be able to type in inputs, using javascript/jquery. Problem is, I have to limit this to Uppercase chars only, and numbers. Here's what I coded previously : $(input).keydown(function(e){ if ($(input).attr("class")=="populationReference"){ var ValidPattern = /^[A-Z_0-9]*$/; var char = String.fromCharCode(e.charCode); if (!ValidPattern.test(char) && e.charCode!=0){ return false; e.preventDefault(); } } }); If Firefox supports charCode, IE doesn't. How then, could I test if the user is typing uppercase or lowercase characters ? Thanks for any help !

  • How to Redirect Subdomains to Other Domain

    - by Codex73
What I'm trying to accomplish with htaccess mod-rewrite: Redirect all sub-domains to new domain name w rewrite rule. e.g. test1.olddomain.com === test1.newdomain.com test2.olddomain.com === test2.newdomain.com test3.olddomain.com === test3.newdomain.com This is what I have so far which of course is wrong: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^olddomain\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.newdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.olddomain\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*) http://www.newdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteRule [a-zA-Z]+\.olddomain.com$ http://$1.newdomain.com/ [R=301,L] Since I'm not a Regular Expression junkie just yet, I need your help... Thanks for any help you can give here. I know also we can compile these first two conditions into one. Note: The reason I don't redirect all domain using DNS is that a lot of directories need special rewrite rules in order to maintain positions on SEO.

  • Regular input in ASP.NET

    - by coffeeaddict
Here's an example of a regular standard HTML input for my radiobuttonlist: <label><input type="radio" name="rbRSelectionGroup" checked value="0" />None</label> <asp:Repeater ID="rptRsOptions" runat="server"> <ItemTemplate> <div> <label><input type="radio" name="rbRSelectionGroup" value='<%# ((RItem)Container.DataItem).Id %>' /><%# ((RItem)Container.DataItem).Name %></label> </div> </ItemTemplate> </asp:Repeater> I removed some stuff for this thread, one being I put an r for some name that I do not want to expose here so just an fyi. Now, I would assume that this would or should happen: Page loads the first time, the None radio button is checked / defaulted I go and select a different radiobutton in this radiobutton list I do an F5 refresh in my browser The None radio button is pre-selected again after it has come back from the refresh but #4 is not happening. It's retaining the radiobutton that I selected in #2 and I don't know why. I mean in regular HTML it's stateless. So what could be holding this value? I want this to act like a normal input button. I know the question of "why not use an ASP.NET control" will come up. Well there are 2 reasons: The stupid radiobuttonlist bug that everyone knows about I just want to brush up more on standard input tags We are not moving to MVC so this is as close as I'll get and it's ok, because the rest of the team is on par with having mixed ASP.NET controls with standard HTML controls in our pages Anyway my main question here is I'm surprised that it's retaining the change in selection after postback.

  • How do I best do balanced quoting with Perl's Regexp::Grammars?

    - by Evan Carroll
Using Damian Conway's Regexp::Grammars, I'm trying to match different balanced quoting ('foo', "foo", but not 'foo") mechanisms -- such as parens, quotes, double quotes, and double dollars. This is the code I'm currently using. <token: pair> \'<literal>\'|\"<literal>\"|\$\$<literal>\$\$ <token: literal> [\S]+ This generally works fine and allows me to say something like: <rule: quote> QUOTE <.as>? <pair> My question is how do I reform the output, to exclude the needles notation for the pair token? { '' => 'QUOTE AS \',\'', 'quote' => { '' => 'QUOTE AS \',\'', 'pair' => { 'literal' => ',', '' => '\',\'' } } }, Here, there is obviously no desire to have pair in between, quote, and the literal value of it. Is there a better way to match 'foo', "foo", and $$foo$$, and maybe sometimes ( foo ) without each time creating a needless pair token? Can I preprocess-out that token or fold it into the above? Or, write a better construct entirely that eliminates the need for it?

  • replacing text within quotes until next quote

    - by Jordan Trainor
    String input = "helloj\"iojgeio\r\ngsk\\"jopri\"gj\r\negjoijisgoe\"joijsofeij\"\"\"ojgsoij\""; This is my current code that works but iv added some code that has to run before this which makes some '"' split onto another line thus making the code below obsolute unless under certain cirumstances the '"' is not put onto the next line. firstQuote = input.IndexOf("\""); lastQuote = input.LastIndexOf("\""); input = input.Substring(0, firstQuote) + "<span>quote" + input.Substring(firstQuote + 1, lastQuote - (firstQuote + 1) + "quote</span>" + input.Substring(lastQuote + 1, lines.Length - (lastQuote + 1); How could I change the input string from input = "helloj\"iojgeio\r\ngsk\\"jopri\"gj\r\negjoijisgoe\"joijsofeij\"\"\"ojgsoij\""; to input = "helloj(<span>quoteiojgeio\r\ngsk\\"jopriquote</span>gj\r\negjoijisgoe<span>quotejoijsofeijquote</span>quote<span>quote</span>ojgsoij<span>quote</span>";

  • Html.ListBox() and MultiselectList

    - by Ivan90
Hi guys, I've a little problem with an Html.ListBox! I am developing a personal blog in ASP.NET MVC 1.0 and I created an adminpanel where I can add and edit a post! During this two operations, I can add also tags! I think of use an Html.ListBox() helper to list all tags, and so I can select multiple tags to add in a post! The problem isn't during the add mode, but in the edit mode, where I have to pre-select post's tags! I read that I have to use a MultiSelectList and so in its constructor pass, tags' list and tag's list(pre-selected value). But I don't know how to use this class! I post, some code: This is my models method that get all list tags in selectlist public IEnumerable<SelectListItem> GetTagsListBox() { return from t in db.Tags orderby t.IDTag descending select new SelectListItem { Text = t.TagName, Value = t.IDTag.ToString(), }; } So in Edit (Get and Post), Add(Get and Post) I use a ViewData to pass this list in Html.ListBox(). ViewData["Tags"] = tagdb.GetTagsListBox(); And in my view <%=Html.ListBox("Tags",ViewData["Tags"] as SelectList) %> So with this code it's ok in Add Mode! But in Edit Mode I need to pre-select those values! So Now, of course I have to create a method that get all tagsbypostid! and then in ViewData what Must I to pass? Any suggest?

  • get city, state or zip from a string in python

I'd like to be able to parse out the city, state or zip from a string in python. So, if I entered Boulder, Co 80303 Boulder, Colorado Boulder, Co 80303 ... any variation of these it would return the city, state or zip. This is all going to be user inputted data and inputted in one text field.

  • Is it possible to use re2 from Python?

    - by flow
i just discovered http://code.google.com/p/re2, a promising library that uses a long-neglected way (Thompson NFA) to implement a regular expression engine that can be orders of magnitudes faster than the available engines of awk, Perl, or Python. so i downloaded the code and did the usual sudo make install thing. however, that action had seemingly done little more than adding /usr/local/include/re2/re2.h to my system. there seemed to be some `*.a file in addition, but then what is it with this *.a extension? i would like to use re2 from Python (preferrably Python 3.1) and was excited to see files like make_unicode_groups.py in the distro (maybe just used during the build process?). those however were not deployed on my machine. how can i use re2 from Python?

  • Match subpatterns in any order

    - by Yaroslav
I have long regexp with two complicated subpatters inside. How i can match that subpatterns in any order? Simplified example: /(apple)?\s?(banana)?\s?(orange)?\s?(kiwi)?/ and i want to match both of apple banana orange kiwi apple orange banana kiwi It is very simplified example. In my case banana and orange is long complicated subpatterns and i don't want to do something like /(apple)?\s?((banana)?\s?(orange)?|(orange)?\s?(banana)?)\s?(kiwi)?/ Is it possible to group subpatterns like chars in character class? UPD Real data as requested: 14:24 26,37 Mb 108.53 01:19:02 06.07 24.39 19:39 46:00 my strings much longer, but it is significant part. Here you can see two lines what i need to match. First has two values: length (14 min 24 sec) and size 26.37 Mb. Second one has three values but in different order: size 108.53 Mb, length 01 h 19 m 02 s and date June, 07 Third one has two size and length Fourth has only length There are couple more variations and i need to parse all values. I have a regexp that pretty close except i can't figure out how to match patterns in different order without writing it twice. (?<size>\d{1,3}\[.,]\d{1,2}\s+(?:Mb)?)?\s? (?<length>(?:(?:01:)?\d{1,2}:\d{2}))?\s* (?<date>\d{2}\.\d{2}))? NOTE: that is only part of big regexp that forks fine already.

  • Regular expressions and matching URLs with metacharacters

    - by James P.
I'm having trouble finding a regular expression that matches the following String. Korben;http://feeds.feedburner.com/KorbensBlog-UpgradeYourMind?format=xml;1 One problem is escaping the question mark. Java's pattern matcher doesn't seem to accept \? as a valid escape sequence but it also fails to work with the tester at myregexp.com. Here's what I have so far: ([a-zA-Z0-9])+;http://([a-zA-Z0-9./-]+);[0-9]+ Any suggestions? Edit: The original intent was to match all URLs that could be found after the first semi colon.

  • How to parse phpDoc style comment block with php?

    - by Reveller
Please consider the following code with which I'm trying to parse only the first phpDoc style comment (noy using any other libraries) in a file (file contents put in $data variable for testing purposes): $data = " /** * @file A lot of info about this file * Could even continue on the next line * @author [email protected] * @version 2010-05-01 * @todo do stuff... */ /** * Comment bij functie bar() * @param Array met dingen */ function bar($baz) { echo $baz; } "; $data = trim(preg_replace('/\r?\n *\* */', ' ', $data)); preg_match_all('/@([a-z]+)\s+(.*?)\s*(?=$|@[a-z]+\s)/s', $data, $matches); $info = array_combine($matches[1], $matches[2]); print_r($info) This almose works, except for the fact that everything after @todo (including the bar() comment block and code) is considered the value of @todo: Array ( [file] => A lot of info about this file Could even continue on the next line [author] => [email protected] [version] => 2010-05-01 [todo] => do stuff... / /** Comment bij functie bar() [param] => Array met dingen / function bar() { echo ; } ) How does my code need to be altered so that only the first comment block is being parsed (in other words: parsing should stop after the first "*/" encountered?
