• SVN - When you tag a working copy is it still a cheap copy?

  Using Subversion, in my working copy I make a minor modification (update a version number). I would then like to tag my working copy. Would this tag still be a cheap copy with the modification, or would SVN duplicate the files? I would hate to see my repository grow enormously in size because I'm trying to save a version number change. The reason I ask about creating a tag that contains a modification rather than committing then tagging involves my build server. The build server creates a CCNetLabel which I use to update the version numbers of my projects (AssemblyInfo.cs). When the build is successful it creates a tag. When I use ForceBuild the tag is based on the working copy which would contain the modified version number. I want the tag to contain the appropriate version number. note: It's debatable if I'm creating a branch or a tag, however SVN does not make a distinction between the two.

  When I tried writing to an read-only parameter(IN) of a function, Oracle complains with an error. But that is not the case when reading from an write-only(OUT) parameter of a function. Oracle silently allows this without any error. What is the reason for this behaviour?.   I have a problem, I am trying to calculate what the lowest prime is of a number but I do not understand the result that PHP is giving me. If I have this number $number = 600851475143; Then I modulus it: $primes = array( 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23, 29, 31, 37, 41, 43, 47, 53, 59, 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97); foreach($primes as $key=>$value) { if($number % $value == 0 ) {echo $value; break; } } Why is it that $value = 3? If $value = 3, that means that 600851475143 / 3 should be an integer, but its not. So I do not understand why that if() evaluates to true?

• How to create a database deadlock using jdbc and JUNIT

  I am trying to create a database deadlock and I am using JUnit. I have two concurrent tests running which are both updating the same row in a table over and over again in a loop. My idea is that you update say row A in Table A and then row B in Table B over and over again in one test. Then at the same time you update row B table B and then row A Table A over and over again. From my understanding this should eventually result in a deadlock. • Correct answer will not output

  I made a program that returns the sum of all primes under 2 million. I really have no idea what's going on with this one, I get 142891895587 as my answer when the correct answer is 142913828922. It seems like its missing a few primes in there. I'm pretty sure the getPrime function works as it is supposed to. I used it a couple times before and worked correctly than. • Dictionaries with more than one key per value in Python

  I am attempting to create a nice interface to access a data set where each value has several possible keys. For example, suppose that I have both a number and a name for each value in the data set. I want to be able to access each value using either the number OR the name. I have considered several possible implementations: Using two separate dictionaries, one for the data values organized by number, and one for the data values organized by name. Simply assigning two keys to the same value in a dictionary. Creating dictionaries mapping each name to the corresponding number, and vice versa Attempting to create a hash function that maps each name to a number, etc. (related to the above) Creating an object to encapsulate all three pieces of data, then using one key to map dictionary keys to the objects and simply searching the dictionary to map the other key to the object. None of these seem ideal. The first seems ugly and unmaintainable. The second also seems fragile. The third/fourth seem plausible, but seem to require either much manual specification or an overly complex implementation. Finally, the fifth loses constant-time performance for one of the lookups. In C/C++, I believe that I would use pointers to reference the same piece of data from different keys. I know that the problem is rather similar to a database lookup problem by a non-key column, however, I would like (if possible), to maintain the approximate O(1) performance of Python dictionaries. What is the most Pythonic way to achieve this data structure?

• Scanning FedEx labels into a visual basic program

  I have a program that has tracking numbers entered into it and it stores them in a database and i would like to add a scanner to the mix. The scanner is acting like a keyboard and scannes just fine, the problem is scanning a FedEx number gives a 32 digit number and i am only iterested in the tracking number portion of it. I saw an example on the web for an excel macro and tried to modify it but it doesnt seem to work. Is there something i could do to just get the 12 digit number? This is what it looks like so far.   Let's say that there is a file that contains an unsorted list of student information, which includes a student ID number as well as other information. I want to make a program that retrieves student information based on student ID number. In order to make it efficient, I store the student IDs in a B-tree. So when I enter a student ID number, it searches the B-tree to see if its there or not. It also does one more thing. If it finds the student ID number, then it also returns where in the file that student's information is. This is the secondary key. The program uses this information to locate the rest of the student's information and prints it to screen. Can this be done? Is this how a b-tree works?

  In cases where order does matter, it's rather easy to generate the matrix of all possible outcomes. One way for doing this is using expand.grid as shown here. What if it doesn't? If I'm right, the number of possible combinations is (S+N-1)!/S!(N-1)!, where S is the number of dice, each with N sides numbered 1 through N. (It is different from the well known combinations formula because it is possible for the same number to appear on more than one dice). For example, when throwing four six-sided dice, N=6 and S=4, so the number of possible combinations is (4+6-1)!/4!(6-1)! = 9!/4!x5! = 126. How can I generate a matrix of these 126 possible outcomes? • Is my program taking too much time to execute?
