    Launching the android SDK manager from the command line gets me this error and others like: Failed to fetch URL http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/addons_list-1.xml, reason: Failure initializing default SSL context I've done plenty of searches and have forced http instead of https, created an androidtool.cfg file and added the line sdkman.force.http=true permisions for all files in ~/.android are rw r r. I'm calling android logged in as the owner of those files. I am not using a proxy and I have no anti virus running. I just installed fedora 16 and am not sure of any firewalls running by default. I suspect a permissions problem somewhere along the line. any ideas?

    Hi, I have a home server, on which I have installed Apache, and several other applications that have a Web GUI (JDownloader, Free Download Manager). In order to access each of these apps (whether be it from the local network or the Internet), I have to enter a different port, e.g., http:// server:8085 or http:// xxxx.dyndns.org:8085 for Apache, http:// server:90 or http:// xxxx.dyndns.org:90 for FDM, http:// server:8081 or http:// xxxx.dyndns.org:8081 for JDownloader. I would like to be able to access them using sub-domains, e.g, http:// apache.server or http:// apache.xxxx.dyndns.org for Apache, http:// fdm.server or http:// fdm.xxxx.dyndns.org for FDM, http:// jdownloader.server or http:// jdownloader.xxxx.dyndns.org for JDownloader. First of all, would it be possible like I want it, i.e., both from LAN and Internet, and if yes, how? And then, even if it's possible only for Internet, I would like to know how to do it, if there's a way. Thanks in advance, Yusuf

  • designing an API wrapper for Twitter, Facebook, Youtube etc...

    I am looking at some pointers on how to design a wrapper for these social networking sites. Ideally what I want to do is create a black box where I am able to create an interface for other libraries to call certain functions to interact with these social networking sites. I am planning on using oAuth for most of these sites, I already have this layer designed in PHP. The other layer that I need for these social sites is the ability to push and pull content. For example, the ability to pull feeds for users from each of these networks and then should I cache them on my end? how would I cache all twitter, facebook etc activity feed and be able to account for resync etc? The networks that I am looking at are: Twitter Youtube Facebook LinkedIN Vimeo Flickr I am looking for ideas on how to tackle this in php? Any suggestions, opensource systems that I can learn from?

    I am trying to code this for hours and still couldn't do it. It keep tell me "Permission Denied". Here is what I am trying to accomplish. This pretty hard to explain please follow the example below. For example. domain111.com and domain222.com. When I am on domain111.com i click on the popup link , it will pop-up the domain111.com/popup.html then it redirect me to domain222.com. On this domain222.com it will redirect to couple pages before it redirect back to domain111.com with the result. I want to send the result from domain111.com to domain111.com. The process is like below. Domain111-popup to--Domain111-redirect--Domain222-redirect xxx Domain222 pages then redirect to---Domain111---SEND to parent window-Domain11 Here is my code.   • Jquery getJSON cross domain problems

    I cant seem to get my JSON file to work when pulling it in from another domain using JQuerys getJSON. I have placed the callback part at the end of the url but still have no joy. Firebug tells me its a cross domain issue, which seems to make sense as if I place the json file locally the below code (excluding the ?jsoncallback=? works fine) Heres the Jquery part     I'm trying to make a PHP script that will take a potentially infinite number of URLs from the command line as arguments. I also need to pass an argument that only has a single numeric value possible (to specify timeout), e.g.: ./urltest.php 60 url1.com url2.com url3.com I'm not exactly sure how to specify argv[1] to be a single numeric variable while at the same time the rest of the arguments (i.e. the list of urls) go into an array. Maybe something like: $timeout = $argv[1]; $args = func_get_args(); function numfilter($num) { return !is_numeric($num); } $urls = array_filters($args, 'numfilter'); ? Thanks in advance!

But I still don't understand why we need to utilize different HTTP requests: DELETE/PUT/POST/GET in order to build nice API Wouldn't it be a lot simpler to pass all information in request parameters and have a SINGLE ENTRY-POINT for your api?: GET www.example.com/api?id=1&method=delete&returnformat=JSON GET www.example.com/api?id=1&method=delete&returnformat=XML or POST www.example.com/api {post data: id=1&method=delete&returnformat=JSON} POST www.example.com/api {post data: id=1&method=delete&returnformat=XML} and then - we can handle all methods and data internally without the need for hundreds of urls... how would you call this type of API - It's not REST apparently, it's not SOAP. then - what is it? UPDATE I'm not proposing any new standards here. I merely asking a question in order to better understand why web services work the way they work.

    I'm trying to do the following: I have website like apartments.com. sometimes, I want to expand to different cities, so for SEO purposes, I might create a separate domain like bostonapartments.com or newyorkapartments.com for only boston and new york apartments. bostonapartments.com and the main domain apartments.com are all hosted on 1 server. what I did was I used Virtual Host apache config to direct bostonapartments.com to a directory on that server, and then used an iframe to load content for bostonapartments.com from apartments.com. So all the content will be hosted on apartments.com, but bostonapartments.com will get the content from apartments.com. how can I accomplish this effectively in a scalable way using php, apache, mysql? btw, I do not own apartments.com, I'm just using that as an example.

    I'm using Pylons and want to add some middleware to it so that it catches 401 status codes and makes HTTP Redirect (302) to Signin page. I know there is built-in StatusCodeRedirect in Pylons that acts in a similar fashion, but it does not produce HTTP redirect, and rather redirects internally (this is what I do not want). Is there any existing middleware to add, or any generic middleware that can be easily modified to make HTTP redirects on specific status codes?

Also, if there are more than 6 websites, I want to limit it to the first 6 Dynamic pivot makes sense, but I would have to incorporate it into my view ?? Is there a simpler solution for this ? However, when I try something like "www.google.com" it crashes with: No Activity found to handle Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW dat=www.google.com } Am I using Uri wrong? Is there a way to extract full address from it? Or am I supposed to write code that adds http manually? e.g, if not starts with http://, add http://. Thanks!
