  • How do you set the default source for the Output window in Visual Studio?

    We added a SharePoint BDC model project to a solution in Visual Studio 2010. Ever since, whenever the solution is built, instead of showing the Build output in the Output window, it insists on having "SharePoint Tools" selected in the "Show Output from:" drop-down, just to say "Model validation started ... Model validation completed with no errors." Short of shutting off any SharePoint projects in the build configuration, can this behavior be overridden?

I have tried this.key1 this[key1] obj.key1 obj[key1] this["key1"] obj["key1"] and they never seem to be defined. How can I get key2 to refer to key1's value?

I downlodad the source and run python setup.py build but I get errors, related with numpy, which is not installed, so I decieded to install it first.     1st solution located: \Common\Controls\Controls.sln and its project: \Common\Controls\Common.Controls\Common.Controls.csproj Description: This is a library that contains this class: public abstract class OurUserControl : UserControl { // Variables and other getters/setters common to our UserControls } 2nd solution located: \AControl\AControl.sln and its project: \AControl\AControl\AControl.csproj Description: Of the many forms/classes, it will contain this class: using Common.Controls; namespace AControl { public partial class AControl : OurUserControl { // The implementation } } A note about adding references (not sure if this is relevant): When I add references (for projects I create), using the names above: 1. I add Common.Controls.csproj to AControl.sln 2. In AControl.sln I turn off the build of Common.Controls.csproj 3. I add the reference to Common.Controls (by project) to AControl.csproj. This is the (easiest) way I know how to get Debug versions to match Debug References, and Release versions to match Release References. Now, here is where the issue lies (the 3rd solution/project that actually utilizes the UserControl): 3rd solution located: \MainProj\MainProj.sln and its project: \MainProj\MainProj\MainProj.csproj Description: Here's a sample function in one of the classes: private void TestMethod<T>() where T : Common.Controls.OurUserControl, new() { T TheObject = new T(); TheObject.OneOfTheSetters = something; TheObject.AnotherOfTheSetters = something_else; // Do stuff with the object } We might call this function like so: private void AnotherMethod() { TestMethod<AControl.AControl>(); } This builds, runs, and works. No problem. The odd thing is after I close the project/solution and re-open it, I have red squigglies everywhere. I bring up my error list and I see tons of errors (anything that deals with AControl will be noted as an error). I'll see errors such as: The type 'AControl.AControl' cannot be used as type parameter 'T' in the generic type or method 'MainProj.MainClass.TestMethod()'. There is no implicit reference conversion from 'AControl.AControl' to 'Common.Controls.OurUserControl'. or inside the actual method (the properties located in the abstract class): 'AControl.AControl' does not contain a definition for 'OneOfTheSetters' and no extension method 'OneOfTheSetters' accepting a first argument of type 'AControl.AControl' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) Meanwhile, I can still build and run the project (then the red squigglies go away until I re-open the project, or close/re-open the file). It seems to me that I might be setting up the projects incorrectly. Thoughts?

  • Alternative for assigns() in Cucumber with Capybara?

    I'm trying out capybara with cucumber to get some better javascript test coverage. I have a lot of steps that check or use things from the Rails integration test helpers, for instance: assigns(:current_user).should_not be_nil No matter how I call assigns, even if I say something like p assigns it errors with: undefined method `template' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError) So, it seems that I can't do that anymore. Is there an alternative to introspecting what's going on in the controller, or maybe some way of at least running those steps in such a way that I have the integration test stuff back?

  • Doctrine-CLI database creation issue.

    I have Doctrine setup in my Zend Framework application and I built my schema YAML file. But when I tell Doctrine to build the tables it says it does but it doesn't actually make them. It creates the models, and will create the DB but it will not populate the DB with the tables and throws no errors. Does anyone have a guess or know why this is not working? Thank you.

  • How to speed up request/response to django using apache or another solution?

    Hey all, I'm mainly a developer, but every now and again I jump into the sys-admin position. For the most part I've gotten away with deploying php and python apps using apache. I write today because I'm starting to research faster alternatives to apache, yet still have some of the core features I require like put and delete methods and the ability to connect to a socket via apache. ( This I have not tried, but might be a nice whistle if I ever employ comet on my apps. ) As you've probably guessed, I use javascript exclusively for all my websites utilizing deep linking for SEO support. The main areas that I'm looking to increase performance is the connection between the django apps and the web server to the client response. Every day I work my best to keep the smallest memory foot print as possible, however I am getting to the end of my rope when it comes to working with apache. In general, keep in mind that I'm just starting this research so I'm looking more for material to read then solutions at this moment. My main questions: Am I missing something about apache that makes it faster then everything else? What would be a good server environment to deploy just static files one? What are some of the leading open-source and paid alternatives?

    I am trying to convert an Adobe CS4 based plugin to CS5. This project has never been mine, this is the first time that i am seeing it. When I compile the source with what i was given, I get errors like: Does not name a type Example: SPAPI SPErr SPBasicAcquireSuite( const char *name, int64 version, const void **suite ); I get that: SPErr does not name a type I dont see any classes with SPErr being defined, but I doubt that Adobe has left this out of the SDK. I am using the PS_CS5_SDK_3 SDK
