• DrawString with character wrapping

  Hi all, I'm creating a fatal error dialog for a Windows Mobile Application using C#. The problem is when I try to draw the stacktrace using DrawString, half of my stacktrace is getting clipped off because DrawString uses word wrapping instead of character wrapping. For those who don't understand the explanation: When i draw the stacktrace, it comes out as this: at company.application.name.space.Funct at company.application.name.Function(St at etc. etc. And i want it to print like this: at company.application.name.space.Funct ion(String sometext, Int32 somenumbe r) at company.application.name.Function(St ring sometext, Int32 somenumber, Int 32 anothernumber) at etc. etc. Is this possible in Csharp?

• JSON URL from StackExchange API returning jibberish?

  I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong here, but I'm not quite sure I'f I'm missing a step, or am just having an encoding problem or something. I would copy and past it here, but that isn't working. What am I doing wrong?

• Empty list in appengine datastore: java vs python

  I have the following java model class in AppEngine: public class Xyz ... { @Persistent private Set<Long> uvw; } When saving an object Xyz with an empty set uvw in Java, I get a "null" field (as listed in the appengine datastore viewer). When I try to load the same object in python (through remote_api), as defined by the following python model class: class Xys(db.Model): uvw = db.ListProperty(int) I get a "BadValueError: Property uvw is required". When saving another object of the same class in python with an empty uvw list, the datastore viewer print a "missing" field. Apparently empty lists storage handling differs between Java and python and lead to "incompatible" objects. Thus my question: Is there a way to, either: force Java to store an empty list as a "missing" field, force Python to gracefully accept a "null" list as an empty list when loading the object? Or any other suggestion on how to handle empty list field in both languages. Thanks for your answers!

• How can I process command line arguments in Python?

  What would be an easy expression to process command line arguments if I'm expecting anything like 001 or 999 (let's limit expectations to 001...999 range for this time), and few other arguments passed, and would like to ignore any unexpected? I understand if for example I need to find out if "debug" was passed among parameters it'll be something like that: if 'debug' in argv[1:]: print 'Will be running in debug mode.' How to find out if 009 or 575 was passed? All those are expected calls: python script.py python script.py 011 python script.py 256 debug python script.py 391 xls python script.py 999 debug pdf At this point I don't care about calls like that: python script.py 001 002 245 568 python script.py some unexpected argument python script.py 0001 python script.py 02 ...first one - because of more than one "numeric" argument; second - because of... well, unexpected arguments; third and fourth - because of non-3-digits arguments.

• C# Printing Properties

  I have a class like this with a bunch of properties: class ClassName { string Name {get; set;} int Age {get; set;} DateTime BirthDate {get; set;} } I would like to print the name of the property and it's value using the value's ToString() method and the Property's name like this: ClassName cn = new ClassName() {Name = "Mark", Age = 428, BirthData = DateTime.Now} cn.MethodToPrint(); // Output // Name = Mark, Age = 428, BirthDate = 12/30/2010 09:20:23 PM Reflection is perfectly okay, in fact I think it is probably required. I'd also be neat if it could somehow work on any class through some sort of inheritance. I'm using 4.0 if that matters.

  I've been having the following problem with my GoDaddy's server. I am using JSPs with the JSTL Library. My /WEB-INF/lib folder contains the following libraries: jstl.jar standard.jar My JSP looks something like this: <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" %> <p>Hello! <% out.print(System.getProperty("java.class.path")); %></p> But I keep getting the following exception: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: The absolute uri: http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application Any ideas as to why it is doing that?   console.log takes a string and replaces tokens with values, for example: console.log("My name is %s, and I like %", 'Dave', 'Javascript') would print: My name is Dave, and I like Javascript I'd like to wrap this inside a method like so: function log(msg, values) { if(config.log == true){ console.log(msg, values); } } The 'values' arg might be a single value or several optional args. How can I accomplish this? If I call it like so: log("My name is %s, and I like %s", "Dave", "Javascript"); I get this (it doesn't recognize "Javascript" as a 3rd argument): My name is Dave, and I like %s If I call this: log("My name is %s, and I like %s", ["Dave", "Javascript"]); then it treats the second arg as an array (it doesn't expand to multiple args). What trick am I missing to get it to expand the optional args?

  I want to generate all variations with repetitions of a string in C++ and I'd highly prefer a non-recursive algorithm. I've come up with a recursive algorithm in the past but due to the complexity (r^n) I'd like to see an iterative approach. I'm quite surprised that I wasn't able to find a solution to this problem anywhere on the web or on StackOverflow. I've come up with a Python script that does what I want as well: import itertools variations = itertools.product('ab', repeat=4) for variations in variations: variation_string = "" for letter in variations: variation_string += letter print variation_string Output: aaaa aaab aaba aabb abaa abab abba abbb baaa baab baba babb bbaa bbab bbba bbbb Ideally I'd like a C++ program that can produce the exact output, taking the exact same parameters. • pycurl script can't login to website

  I'm currently trying to get a grasp on pycurl. I'm attempting to login to my own website. After logging into the site it should redirect to the main page. However when trying this script it just gets returned to the login page.   I have an O(n^2) operation that requires me to read line i from a file, and then compare line i to every line in the file. This repeats for all i. I wrote the following code to do this with 2 file handles, but it does not yield the result I am looking for. I imagine this is a simple error on my part. • rdlc - phantom page break, what to check?

  I have a RDLC report which has some controls on the first page, which are inside a rectangle and which display ok. Beneath the rectangle, i have a matrix, which spans more than one page both in width and in height. I want the matrix to start rendering on the second page. If I enable "insert break before" on the matrix, there is an extra blank page before the matrix(in print layout), which is my problem. If I reduce the amount of data, so the matrix does not span more than one page in width, there is no blank page, and all is well. I checked the Page and Body sizes, they are ok. Any tips? This has been driving me crazy all day, what can I check? Thx

  I've been tinkering with a regex answer by yukondude with little success. I'm trying to kill processes that are older than 10 minutes. I already know what the process IDs are. I'm looping over an array every 10 min to see if any lingering procs are around and need to be killed. Anybody have any quick thoughts on this? • Why am I getting unexpected output trying to write a hash structure to a file?

  I have a hash in which I store the products a customer buys (%orders). It uses the product code as key and has a reference to an array with the other info as value. At the end of the program, I have to rewrite the inventory to the updated version (i.e. subtract the quantity of the bought items) This is how I do rewrite the inventory: sub rewriteInventory{ open(FILE,'>inv.txt'); foreach $key(%inventory){ print FILE "$key\|$inventory{$key}[0]\|$inventory{$key}[1]\|$inventory{$key}[2]\n" } close(FILE); } where $inventory{$key}[x] is 0 → Title, 1 → price, 2 → quantity. The problem here is that when I look at inv.txt afterwards, I see things like this: CD-911|Lady Gaga - The Fame|15.99|21 ARRAY(0x145030c)||| BOOK-1453|The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown|14.75|12 ARRAY(0x145bee4)||| Where do these ARRAY(0x145030c)||| entries come from? Or more important, how do I get rid of them?

• Disabling a link tag using JavaScript on my printable page

  I have a script that creates a printable page by copying the HTML across and then doing some manipulation, such as disabling the buttons on the page, on page load. I also want to disable the links on the page. I don't really mind if they look like links still as long as they don't do anything, and don't give any JavaScript errors! The anchor tag doesn't seem to have a disabled attribute... Unfortunately, I can't use jQuery, so JavaScript only please! Edit: I want to disable the links, buttons etc on the page so that when the 'printable page' opens in another window, the user cannot mess with it by clicking buttons or links. I want it to essentially be a 'frozen snapshot' of the page that they want to print.

• Generate PDF - how to create paged HTML content beforehand?

  My task is to create ready-to-print invoices from a .NET web app. I am already generating the printer-friendly HTML for an invoice - it consists of an invoice header (that will actually need to appear on each printed page) and invoice positions (that may span multiple printed pages). Now, my task is to generate a PDF server-side, populate a header on each of its pages, then populate its pages with invoice positions. I need to generate the PDF from the existing HTML data - by simply passing HTML input to the PDF generator library. I've started using ABCPDF - I am using the AddImageHtml method. The problem I have is that ABCPDF seems to expect me to supply HTML content already paged. So, it won't work correctly when I feed it HTML content that would span on more than 1 PDF page. So, my question is - do you have any suggestions on making this work with ABCPDF? Or, more generally speaking, what other tools/approaches would you use for this - generating PDF doc with headers/footers from HTML input? Thanks

• How do I override Currency symbols in Java?

  I'm trying to print prices in Turkish Liras (ISO 4217 currency code TRY) with Java. When I do Currency curr = Currency.getInstance("TRY"); Locale trLocale = new Locale("tr", "TR"); System.out.println(curr.getSymbol(trLocale)); the output is: "YTL". However, the currency symbol for Turkish Lira has recently changed from "YTL" to "TL" (as can be seen on the Wikipedia page for Turkish Lira). Formatting with NumberFormat gives a similar result. I really don't want to write yet another Currency class, especially when Java has one built-in. Is there a way to override Java's default currency symbol for TRY to "TL"?

Are there any online tools / website that offer this? • Function returns CSV File: How to go about checking it ?

  I am doing something like: $outputFile = getCurrentDBSnapshot($data); where $data is the resource stream that am passing in, basically from command prompt am passing an file and am opening it using fopen for writing with 'w+' permissions, now getCurrentDBSnapshot would get the current state of a table and would update the $data csv file, so basically $outputFile would be updated with the current state of database table, now I want to var_dump or print the value of $outputFile to see the data present into it. But when I do $this->fout = fopen($outputFile,'r') or die('Cannot open file'); $test = fgetcsv($outputFile,5000,":"); var_dump($test); It gives me an error saying that it expects parameter 1 to be a string type and am passing resource. My goal to see the contains of $outputFile and so my question is that How can I see the contains present in $outputFile or how can I see what getcurrentDBSnapshot function is returning me ?

  If Python would support the (x ? a : b) syntax from C/C++, I would write: print paid ? ("paid: " + str(paid) + " €") : "not paid" I really don't want to have an if-check and two independent prints here (because that is only an example above, in my code, it looks much more complicated and would really be stupid to have almost the same code twice). However, Python does not support this operator or any similar operator (afaik). What is the easiest/cleanest/most common way to do this? I have searched a bit and seen someone defining an iif(cond,iftrue,iffalse) function, inspired from Visual Basic. I wondered if I really have to add that code and if/why there is no such basic function in the standard library.

• Handling button presses in Gtk2::Image objects
