  • Facebook graph api for PHP resources!

    - by kielie
Hi guys, I am creating a little flash game for the facebook platform, but I am finding it very difficult to get any decent documentation on the graph api and the PHP SDK, so if anyone has a decent resource for a beginner to go and learn the basics, I would appreciate it very much, as I am struggling to grasp the concept. Thanx!

  • Best practice? Using DPM to backup VMs within each VM or through the host?

    - by andrew
We've got two Hyper-V hosts running multiple VMs (all flavors of Windows Servers). One of the VMs is running MS Data Protection Manager 2010, which runs beautifully (most of the time) and is connected to a separate NAS via iSCSI for the DPM storage. I noticed when I installed the DPM agent on the Hyper-V hosts, it enumerates the VMs in the DPM Protection listing. I don't want to burn through my storage space too fast with duplicate protection, so I was wondering: Is it recommended to back up VMs through the host, or is it better to install the DPM agent on each VM and backup as I would any other machine? It would seem as though most people (currently including me) do it the second way, but is there any advantage to including the entries under HyperV (Backup using Child Partition Snapshop)?

  • What are some good resources for the Web Forms MVP project?

    - by Nissan Fan
I've seen a little buzz on ASP.NET Web Forms MVP project, but where can I get resources? http://webformsmvp.com is pretty much stubbed out for now. This appears to be a compelling refresh of the Web Forms paradigm and bring into the fold things that make ASP.NET MVC great. I hear it's going to be put out there at MIX10 this week, but anyone have any useful sites/references?

  • Cloud computing over Client-server: differences, cons and pros ?

    - by Vimvq1987
As far as I know, Cloud computing might be a evolution in software architect, and it will replace some current architectures, such as client-server. These two architecture seem to share similarities for me (I know very little about both), but I don't know the differences between them. What are the cons and pros of cloud computing over client-server architecture? Thank you so much.

  • How do I fix problem with layout of tables and text in LaTeX?

    - by laspal
    Hi, my problem is that my full tables and text are coming about 15 cm away from left side, so my text has very little space on right side, about 3 cm. How can I change my text and tables to start from 5 cm away from left and 5 cm before right side? \documentclass[a4paper]{article} \usepackage{graphics} \usepackage{color} \usepackage{hyperref} \usepackage{multirow} \usepackage{longtable} \usepackage{fullpage} \usepackage[pdftex]{graphicx} \usepackage{fancyhdr} \oddsidemargin 0cm \evensidemargin 0cm \pagestyle{fancy} \renewcommand{\headrulewidth}{0.0pt} \lfoot{%(full_name)s/%(emp_id)s/\thepage} \cfoot{} \topmargin -2.5cm \parindent 0cm \textheight 27.5cm \parskip 3mm \begin{document} \fontencoding{\encodingdefault} \renewcommand{\familydefault}{\sfdefault} \fontshape{\shapedefault} \selectfont Thanks

  • Are there any tools for performing static analysis of Scala code?

    - by Roman Kagan
Are there any tools for performing static analysis of Scala code, similar to FindBugs and PMD for Java or Splint for C/C++? I know that FindBugs works on the bytecode produced by compiling Java, so I'm curious as to how it would work on Scala. Google searches (as of 27 October 2009) reveal very little. Google searches (as of 01 February 2010) reveal this question.

  • Drupal Module Themes - Default CSS?

    - by derekerdmann
There's tons of documentation out there on how to override the appearance of Drupal modules, but I keep finding the docs for writing the original theme to be a little lacking. On this note, how can I tell Drupal to use a specific CSS file for my custom module's block output?

  • SQL Server, varchar data to nvarchar data

    - by Øyvind
I've got a database with collation Danish_Norwegian_CS_AS and lots of varchar columns. I'd like to convert all this data to unicode, but haven't found a way to convert this data yet. If I've understood correctly, the encoding used is UCS-2 little endian. For example I've got a column containing 'PÃ¥l-Trygve' which is easily converted with C# to 'Pål-Trygve' using Encoding.Default.GetString(Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes("PÃ¥l-Trygve")); Is there a way to do this conversion in the Microsoft SQL Server client?

  • Is there a Delphi dropdown notification component?

    - by Mason Wheeler
You know how in Firefox, if something happens that requires your attention but isn't immediately urgent enough to require a modal dialog, it will drop down a little strip at the top of the tab with a question on it? I'd like to be able to put functionality like that in a Delphi app, but I don't know if there's a component for that. Does anyone know of one?

  • Adding a generic image field onto a ModelForm in django

    - by Prairiedogg
I have two models, Room and Image. Image is a generic model that can tack onto any other model. I want to give users a form to upload an image when they post information about a room. I've written code that works, but I'm afraid I've done it the hard way, and specifically in a way that violates DRY. Was hoping someone who's a little more familiar with django forms could point out where I've gone wrong. Update: I've tried to clarify why I chose this design in comments to the current answers. To summarize: I didn't simply put an ImageField on the Room model because I wanted more than one image associated with the Room model. I chose a generic Image model because I wanted to add images to several different models. The alternatives I considered were were multiple foreign keys on a single Image class, which seemed messy, or multiple Image classes, which I thought would clutter my schema. I didn't make this clear in my first post, so sorry about that. Seeing as none of the answers so far has addressed how to make this a little more DRY I did come up with my own solution which was to add the upload path as a class attribute on the image model and reference that every time it's needed. # Models class Image(models.Model): content_type = models.ForeignKey(ContentType) object_id = models.PositiveIntegerField() content_object = generic.GenericForeignKey('content_type', 'object_id') image = models.ImageField(_('Image'), height_field='', width_field='', upload_to='uploads/images', max_length=200) class Room(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=50) image_set = generic.GenericRelation('Image') # The form class AddRoomForm(forms.ModelForm): image_1 = forms.ImageField() class Meta: model = Room # The view def handle_uploaded_file(f): # DRY violation, I've already specified the upload path in the image model upload_suffix = join('uploads/images', f.name) upload_path = join(settings.MEDIA_ROOT, upload_suffix) destination = open(upload_path, 'wb+') for chunk in f.chunks(): destination.write(chunk) destination.close() return upload_suffix def add_room(request, apartment_id, form_class=AddRoomForm, template='apartments/add_room.html'): apartment = Apartment.objects.get(id=apartment_id) if request.method == 'POST': form = form_class(request.POST, request.FILES) if form.is_valid(): room = form.save() image_1 = form.cleaned_data['image_1'] # Instead of writing a special function to handle the image, # shouldn't I just be able to pass it straight into Image.objects.create # ...but it doesn't seem to work for some reason, wrong syntax perhaps? upload_path = handle_uploaded_file(image_1) image = Image.objects.create(content_object=room, image=upload_path) return HttpResponseRedirect(room.get_absolute_url()) else: form = form_class() context = {'form': form, } return direct_to_template(request, template, extra_context=context)

  • PHP - Read number of dirs and then require for each a specified file name

    - by Max
Hello, I want to make a little script but I'm rather n00b in php so please help me if you can :) What I want the script to do is: I have "index.php". I want "index.php" to read the sub-directories from a known folder, let's say "templates/" Each sub-directory will contain a file called "content.html". The index will then load the "content.html" with the require() function for each of the existing sub-directories. Thank you very much for your help!

  • iPhone platform: endianness (detection & swapping)

    - by quixoto
Hi all, I'm doing some endian-sensitive file manipulation on iPhone. Are there standard macros or #defines in that environment that indicate native endianness and offer swapping if necessary? I know I can check in advance and just do the right thing for this particular architecture, but wondering if there are cleaner ways of doing the right thing. (The file format is little endian; if it were big-endian, I'd probably just use the htons/htonl family.) Thanks.

I have a funny little situation on my hands. I have a httpModule on my hands that I have to feed with context relative data. That means that on the page I have to set something that the HttpModule can then react on. If possible I would like to avoid having call context data in the session. Any bright ideas out there. thx for the answer.

When you tap it, a modal view controller comes up which you can select a phone number, address, etc from, and it will appear in the text field. I was wondering how to implement this in my own app. Thanks, Isaac

  • DokuWiki Segmentation Fault On Radius Auth

    - by mrduclaw
I'm running x64 Ubuntu 12.04. I did a simple apt-get install dokuwiki to install DokuWiki. And I'm trying to follow the directions located here: http://www.dokuwiki.org/auth:radius to get Radius authentication working. Things seemed to install OK. Under Configuration Manager I selected Authentication backend to be "Radius" and filled in the Radius details at the bottom. Now, however, whenever I try to log into the Wiki, my browser gives me the following error: No data received I checked /var/log/apache2/error.log and see this: [Tue Jul 10 22:22:14 2012] [notice] child pid 5270 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) I'm fairly sure the Radius server is setup correctly as it correctly authenticates with my squid proxy and other stuff on the network. But this is about the extent of my Linux troubleshooting skills. Can anyone suggest steps for me to follow to help track down what's causing apache2 to segfault short of attaching with gdb and issuing a set follow-fork-mode? I'm also open to just hearing suggestions for simila

  • How can I read this IIS error log?

I'm using Debug Diagnostic Tool, trying to understand why around 5% of the requests that are sent to my webservice just crash, without necessarily throw any error inside my application. One of the errors this tool took is below. Can anyone here understand exactly what could be happening? Thanks! In my C# (3.5) application I need to get the average color values for the red, green and blue channels of a bitmap. Preferably without using an external library. Can this be done? If so, how? Thanks in advance. Trying to make things a little more precise: Each pixel in the bitmap has a certain RGB color value. I'd like to get the average RGB values for all pixels in the image.
