  • My Windows 7 computer won't boot up and a BSOD keeps coming up; how do I solve it?

    - by opj
Whenever I boot my Windows 7 computer, I get a blue screen of death with the following details: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart you computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps: Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer. Technical Information: * STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFFFFF880009A98E8,0xFFFFFFFFC000000D,0x0000000000000000,0x0000000000000000) What does this mean, and how can I fix it so I can boot my machine once again?

  • Send invitation to any user of google chats (is it possible?)

    - by Gizzo
Hi I try to realize simple code on perl which should just get/send messages from/to gtalk accounts. I use Net::XMPP::* modules. All works just fine for users, who are my friends (in my "buddy" list). But i can't send message to unknown user. I know, that for this case i must send an invitation first, but Net::XMPP::* don't provide this possibility. There is only one way to invite person - construct my own xml according to "XEP-0155 Stanza Session Negotiation" protocol. But this doesn't work correct. When i send xml to server, it returns error "service-unavailable". I send: <message to='[email protected]'> <sxde xmlns='http://jabber.org/protocol/sxde' xmlns:sxde='http://jabber.org/protocol/sxde#metadata' session='0AEF4278DC4B6577' id='b'> <negotiation> <invitation> <feature var='http://jabber.org/protocol/whiteboard' /> </invitation> </negotiation> </sxde> </message> before my message. ANSWER: <message from='' to='[email protected]/TALKCDDCCE63' type='error'> <sxde id='b' session='0AEF4278DC4B6577' xmlns='http://jabber.org/protocol/sxde' xmlns:sxde='http://jabber.org/protocol/sxde#metadata'> <negotiation> <invitation> <feature var='http://jabber.org/protocol/whiteboard'/> </invitation> </negotiation> </sxde> <nos:x value='disabled' xmlns:nos='google:nosave'/> <arc:record otr='false' xmlns:arc='http://jabber.org/protocol/archive'/> <error code='503' type='cancel'> <service-unavailable xmlns='urn:ietf:params:xml:ns:xmpp-stanzas'/> </error> </message> Maybe i lost smth or should send another info before (or after..) ? Or maybe there are another way to send message without any invitation? Thanks in advance

  • Migrating Magento Concern

    - by Pankaj Upadhyay
We have a Magento 1.5.0.1 store running at a hosting provider. Now, we need to migrate the same from that server to a new hosting provider. I had talk with a technical guy from the new hosting provider who told me to do following things. Go into the cPanel Backup Wizard . Make a FULL BACKUP and download the zip file Then upload that zip file on their server in my root folder. Then tell them and they will do the restore. My Concern :- Will everything work as expected. What about the connectionstrings and database and all. Will database be automatically created and work the same. Also, somewhere I read that ver 1.5.0.1 used older type of database which might not work on new MySQLs. Can this too have any impact. Should i proceed in the same manner or I need to take care of some additional things to ensure smooth running.

  • MySQL : Insert Exactly Same Data Multiple Rows Without PHP Loop

    - by Robert Hanson
I need to insert same data to my MySQL table without having PHP loop. The reason why I'm doing this is that because I have a column with Auto_Increment feature and that column associates with other table. So, I just need to insert some exactly same data and it's multiple rows (dynamic) but by using single INSERT syntax below : INSERT INTO outbox_multipart (TextDecoded) VALUES ('$SMSMessage') how to have this single INSERT syntax, but produce n number of rows?

  • Remote Desktop closes with Fatal Error (Error Code: 5)

    - by Swinders
We have one PC (Windows XP SP3) that we can not log onto using a Remote Desktop session. Logging on to the PC directly (sitting in front of it using the connected keyboard and monitor) work fine. From a second PC (tried a number of different ones but all Windows XP SP3) I run 'mstsc' and type in PC name to connect to. This shows the login box which we can enter the correct login details and click OK. Within a few second we get an error: Title: Fatal Error (Error Code:5) Error: Your Remote Desktop session is about to end. This computer might be low on virtual memory. Close your other programs, and then try connecting to the remote computer again. If the problem continues, contact your network administrator or technical support. None of the computers we are using are low on memory (2Gb+) and we let windows manage the virtual memory side of things. We do not see this with any other PC and do use Remote Desktop in meeting rooms to connect to user PCs with no problems.

  • #include headers in C/C++

    - by Carlos
After reading several questions regarding problems with compilation (particularly C++) and noticing that in many cases the problem is a missing header #include. I couldn't help to wonder in my ignorance and ask myself (and now to you): Why are missing headers not automatically checked and added or requested to the programmer? Such feature is available for Java in Netbeans for example.

  • JavaScript add to clipboard with additional text

    - by Kemo
I know how to add to clipboard with JavaScript, but what I want now is TechCrunch clipboard trick; when someone copies some text ( ctrl+c, right click copy, clicking on a copy link on-site ), additional text is added to the clipboard ( like "this text was copied from ... ). I know they use Tynt, but don't really know is this a feature you get with it or custom coded?

  • How SmartDNS Works

    - by Emad
If you travel outside the US you'll notice that most of the streaming services like Netflix, Pandora, hulu etc are blocked, usually by the service providers themselves. To get around that, people use VPN services. They basically tunnel your traffic through a US server so your requests seem like they are originating in the US. These VPN services fix this blocking problem, but make your connection slower than the normal unVPNed connection. Recently however I've come across something called SmartDNS provided by overplay.net. You pay $5 a month and you get access to their DNS servers. After you change to their DNS you get access to the blocked streaming sites, without slowing down your normal traffic like email and browsing. What I'd like to know is the technical details of how this SmartDNS works. I've done some quick research but that didn't turn up anything of substance. Anybody out there knows?

  • why no += operator for vectors in stl

    - by Akshay Bhat
I am curious? What high fundu logic goes behind not implementing: result+=vector1; where both result and vector1 are stl vectors. Note: i know how to implement that bit, but i need to know what logic, the sages who designed STL were using when they chose not to implement this feature?

  • HTTP Live Streaming Broadcast

    - by user761389
I'm designing an app for streaming video from a device (e.g. iPhone) via a server to one or more devices and have been researching Apples HTTP Live Streaming protocol. One thing that isn't clear is whether it is possible to stream live video (with audio) to the server and then have it streamed simultaneously in real time to the client devices. From reading the documentation and technical notes from Apple it seems like the index file needs to be created before the segmented video files can be served to a client. Is this right? If so maybe HTTP Live Streaming isn't suitable in this case, what other technologies or software should I consider? Thanks

  • jQuery slideToggle - when div is toggled it pushes content out of viewable area (IE)

    - by Chris
This is an annoying ocurrance in IE when I use the jQuery slideToggle effect. Without the div being open, page looks normal. The minute I toggle the div open, it extends past the current content, overtop of the footer, and out of the viewable browser area (Even after scrolling all the way down). This feature seems to work just fine in firefox. Do I need an additional hack or CSS to make it work in IE8?

    - by dfafa
im curious as to know, why tests are written? why would bother writing it ? why not just compile and run the code or view it in your browser, click around and test out stuff. i mean i can understand, a crawler that checks your web app's functions....but why is tests written, maintained and treated as important as the main feature codes ? is it crucial to always write and use tests ?

  • How does the Ableton warp algorithm work exactly?

    - by pepperdreamteam
I'm looking for any documentation or definitive information on Ableton's warp feature. I understand that it has something to do with finding transients, aligning them with an even rhythm and shifting audio samples accordingly. I'm hoping to find ways to approximate warping with more basic audio editing tools. I understand that this is ableton's unique device, really any information about how it works would be helpful. So...does anyone have any 411?

  • make user attend event through sdk

    - by Jakob Dam Jensen
I was wondering if it's possible to make a user attend an event through the sdk (probably fql). I've been looking at the wiki for FQL info as well as the graph api. But both look like they only support fetching info and not changing... Any suggestions? I would like to build this feature into an application....
