    Hi, I have a class, let's say User adnotated with @XmlRootElement, with some properties (name, surname etc). I use this class for REST operations, as application/xml. The client will POST User class so i want to keep the values in the log. Is there any method in jax-ws to prints out this object as xml? For instance: log.info("Customers sent a USER"+user.whichMethod()); Customer sent a User <user> <name>cristi</name> <surname>kevin</surname> </user> Thanks.

    I had to solve this question in which given a string, i had to return the first non repeating character present in the string. I solved it using hashtable and wrote a method which takes a constant reference to the string and returns the first non repeating character. However, when there is no non repeating character present in the string, i return -1 and in the main program i check as follows char c = firstNonRepeating( word ); if (static_cast<int> (c) == -1) cout<<"no non repeating character present\n"; else cout<<c<<endl; is that the correct way to return -1 when required character is not present?

    I'm new to programming and have a question about navigation. What are the various methods that can achieve a "First", "Previous", "Next" and "Last" navigation, as seen in article or comic based sites? (Admittedly the "First" link isn't confusing as it can stay static, but what about the others?) For example, on the 50th page, the links would appropriately lead to the 49th and 51st (if it exists, if not it would not function but would automatically become active when such a page exists. In most examples of this I see urls ending with something like ".php?id=50" but am not certain how it's achieved, with a database? Any help will be very much appreciated, thanks.

    Hi, see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/695752/product-table-many-kinds-of-product-each-product-has-many-parameters for similar topic. My question: i want to design a database, that will be used for a production facility of different types of products where each product has its own (number of) parameters. because i want the serial numbers to be in one tabel for overview purposes i have a problem with these different paraeters . One solution could be AEV, but it has its downsides, certainly because we have +- 5 products with every product +- 20.000 serial numbers (records). it looks a bit overkill to me... I just don't know how one could design a database so that you have an attribute in a mastertable that says: 'hey, you could find details of this record in THAT detail-table". 'in a way that you qould easely query the results) currenty i am using Visual Basic & Acces 2007. but i'm going to Visual Basic & MySQL. thanks for your help. Bob

I am using a UTF8 charset. not sure if this makes a difference....

    I have a class instance variable on one of my AR classes. I set its value at boot with an initializer and, after that, never touch it again except to read from it. In development mode, this value disappears after the first request to the web server. However, when running tests, using the console or running the production server this does not happen. # The AR class class Group < ActiveRecord::Base class << self attr_accessor :path end end # The initializer Group.path = File.join(RAILS_ROOT, "public", "etc") # First request in a view %p= Group.path #=> "/home/rails/app/public/etc" # Second request in a view %p= Group.path #=> nil Is there something about development mode that nukes instance variables from classes with each request? If so, is there a way to disable this for specific variables or classes?

    Hi all, I need to able to access controller methods from a model using the Kohana V2.3 framework. At the moment I'm passing the controller object (by ref.) to the model on creation which works perfectly fine but I can't help think there is a more "cleaner" way - does anybody have any suggestions? I'd love to know if there's something similar for PHP; full-blown app frameworks like CakePHP or Symphony are very large for what I do, but I can't seem to find nothing "less".     Hi, I am new to Maya and trying to figure out how to use Python in Maya. I wanted to create a shelf in Maya and when I click that shelf, it will execute a file containing python code. First thing, I figured out that we can't simply "source" python script. I followed tutorial from http://www.rtrowbridge.com/blog/2008/11/maya-python-import-scripts/, so now I have a function psource(). In my shelf, I can just call psource("myPythonScript") My problem is I have to somehow register psource() when Maya first loaded. Do you have any idea how to do this? Thanks!

  • NHibernate correct way to reattach cached entity to different session

    I'm using NHibernate to query a list of objects from my database. After I get the list of objects over them I iterate over the list of objects and apply a distance approximation algorithm to find the nearest object. I consider this function of getting the list of objects and apply the algorithm over them to be a heavy operation so I cache the object which I find from the algorithm in HttpRuntime.Cache. After this point whenever I'm given the supplied input again I can just directly pull the object from Cache instead of having to hit the database and traverse the list. My object is a complex object that has collections attached to it, inside the query where I return the full list of objects I don't bring back any of the sub collections eagerly so when I read my cached object I need lazy loading to work correctly to be able to display the object fully. Originally I tried using this to re-associate my cached object back to a new session _session.Lock(obj, LockMode.None); However when accessing the page concurrently from another instance I get the error Illegal attempt to associate a collection with two open sessions I then tried something different with _session.Merge(obj); However watching the output of this in NHProf shows that it is deleting and re-associating my object's contained collections with my object, which is not what I want although it seems to work fine. What is the correct way to do this? Neither of these seem to be right.

    Hi Folks, I am creating a store in Magento and have a weird issue with IE6 and the ordered lists on my page. For some reason, IE6 ignores the horizontal margin on my first list. Not the first element in the list but the whole list. I have multiple list on the page.   • ASP.NET MVC 2: Linq to SQL entity w/ ForeignKey relationship and Default ModelBinder strangeness

    Once again I'm having trouble with Linq to Sql and the MVC Model Binder. I have Linq to Sql generated classes, to illustrate them they look similar to this: public class Client { public int ClientID { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } public class Site { public int SiteID { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } } public class User { public int UserID { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public int? ClientID { get; set; } public EntityRef<Client> Client { get; set; } public int? SiteID { get; set; } public EntityRef<Site> Site { get; set; } } The 'User' has a relationship with the 'Client' and 'Site . The User class has nullable ClientIDs and SiteIDs because the admin users are not bound to a Client or Site. Now I have a view where a user can edit a 'User' object, the view has fields for all the 'User' properties. When the form is submitted, the appropiate 'Save' action is called in my UserController: public ActionResult Save(User user, FormCollection form) { //form['SiteID'] == 1 //user.SiteID == 1 //form['ClientID'] == 1 //user.ClientID == null } The problem here is that the ClientID is never set, it is always null, even though the value is in the FormCollection. To figure out whats going wrong I set breakpoints for the ClientID and SiteID getters and setters in the Linq to Sql designer generated classes. I noticed the following: SiteID is being set, then ClientID is being set, but then the Client EntityRef property is being set with a null value which in turn is setting the ClientID to null too! I don't know why and what is trying to set the Client property, because the Site property setter is never beeing called, only the Client setter is being called. Manually setting the ClientID from the FormCollection like this: user.ClientID = int.Parse(form["ClientID"].ToString()); throws a 'ForeignKeyReferenceAlreadyHasValueException', because it was already set to null before. The only workaround I have found is to extend the generated partial User class with a custom method: Client = default(EntityRef<Client>) but this is not a satisfying solution. I don't think it should work like this? Please enlighten me someone. So far Linq to Sql is driving me crazy! Best regards

    I´m new trying to make some apps using objective c, so I´ve an idea using uitableview but I don't imagine how can I get this. I´m trying to do something like you do in a spreadsheet where you have a fixed header and the first column too So when scroll the uitableview vertically the header will stay visible at top of the table and rows will change And finally when you scroll in horizontal direction the first cell of the row will stay visible and will change the header depending of how you scroll the uitableview I hope you could give me an idea how to get this, because I don't imagine how to do this, also I don´t have a lot of experience with this programming language.
