  • Recursive calls in Pentaho Data Integration

  • Which is a good opensource user management system?

    - by Lost_in_code
I'm new to php/mySQL and am trying to create a website which will allow users to register. In future, there will be a paid content area where content will be shown based on the payment status. Is there a good opensource lightweight framework which takes care of the user management part? (Register, edit user info, retrieve lost password etc). I'm a flash platform developer and not aware of how to take care of stuff like session hijacking, XSS etc. Should I go ahead and learn to do all this on my own, without using any framework? I thought of using Wordpress' user management system, but not sure how easy that would be. Any suggestion would be great.

  • NTRU Pseudo-code for computing Polynomial Inverses

    - by Neville
    Hello all. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to implement line 45 of the following pseudo-code. Require: the polynomial to invert a(x), N, and q. 1: k = 0 2: b = 1 3: c = 0 4: f = a 5: g = 0 {Steps 5-7 set g(x) = x^N - 1.} 6: g[0] = -1 7: g[N] = 1 8: loop 9: while f[0] = 0 do 10: for i = 1 to N do 11: f[i - 1] = f[i] {f(x) = f(x)/x} 12: c[N + 1 - i] = c[N - i] {c(x) = c(x) * x} 13: end for 14: f[N] = 0 15: c[0] = 0 16: k = k + 1 17: end while 18: if deg(f) = 0 then 19: goto Step 32 20: end if 21: if deg(f) < deg(g) then 22: temp = f {Exchange f and g} 23: f = g 24: g = temp 25: temp = b {Exchange b and c} 26: b = c 27: c = temp 28: end if 29: f = f XOR g 30: b = b XOR c 31: end loop 32: j = 0 33: k = k mod N 34: for i = N - 1 downto 0 do 35: j = i - k 36: if j < 0 then 37: j = j + N 38: end if 39: Fq[j] = b[i] 40: end for 41: v = 2 42: while v < q do 43: v = v * 2 44: StarMultiply(a; Fq; temp;N; v) 45: temp = 2 - temp mod v 46: StarMultiply(Fq; temp; Fq;N; v) 47: end while 48: for i = N - 1 downto 0 do 49: if Fq[i] < 0 then 50: Fq[i] = Fq[i] + q 51: end if 52: end for 53: {Inverse Poly Fq returns the inverse polynomial, Fq, through the argument list.} The function StarMultiply returns a polynomial (array) stored in the variable temp. Basically temp is a polynomial (I'm representing it as an array) and v is an integer (say 4 or 8), so what exactly does temp = 2-temp mod v equate to in normal language? How should i implement that line in my code. Can someone give me an example. The above algorithm is for computing Inverse polynomials for NTRUEncrypt key generation. The pseudo-code can be found on page 28 of this document. Thanks in advance.

  • How to best design a date/geographic proximity query on GAE?

    - by Dane
Hi all, I'm building a directory for finding athletic tournaments on GAE with web2py and a Flex front end. The user selects a location, a radius, and a maximum date from a set of choices. I have a basic version of this query implemented, but it's inefficient and slow. One way I know I can improve it is by condensing the many individual queries I'm using to assemble the objects into bulk queries. I just learned that was possible. But I'm also thinking about a more extensive redesign that utilizes memcache. The main problem is that I can't query the datastore by location because GAE won't allow multiple numerical comparison statements (<,<=,=,) in one query. I'm already using one for date, and I'd need TWO to check both latitude and longitude, so it's a no go. Currently, my algorithm looks like this: 1.) Query by date and select 2.) Use destination function from geopy's distance module to find the max and min latitude and longitudes for supplied distance 3.) Loop through results and remove all with lat/lng outside max/min 4.) Loop through again and use distance function to check exact distance, because step 2 will include some areas outside the radius. Remove results outside supplied distance (is this 2/3/4 combination inefficent?) 5.) Assemble many-to-many lists and attach to objects (this is where I need to switch to bulk operations) 6.) Return to client Here's my plan for using memcache.. let me know if I'm way out in left field on this as I have no prior experience with memcache or server caching in general. -Keep a list in the cache filled with "geo objects" that represent all my data. These have five properties: latitude, longitude, event_id, event_type (in anticipation of expanding beyond tournaments), and start_date. This list will be sorted by date. -Also keep a dict of pointers in the cache which represent the start and end indices in the cache for all the date ranges my app uses (next week, 2 weeks, month, 3 months, 6 months, year, 2 years). -Have a scheduled task that updates the pointers daily at 12am. -Add new inserts to the cache as well as the datastore; update pointers. Using this design, the algorithm would now look like: 1.) Use pointers to slice off appropriate chunk of list based on supplied date. 2-4.) Same as above algorithm, except with geo objects 5.) Use bulk operation to select full tournaments using remaining geo objects' event_ids 6.) Assemble many-to-manys 7.) Return to client Thoughts on this approach? Many thanks for reading and any advice you can give. -Dane

  • What AMF Servers Support Remote Shared Objects?

    - by GrayB
Greetings. I'm planning on building a Flex based multiplayer game, and I'm researching what will be required for the server end. I have PHP experience, so I started looking at ZendAMF. Now in this game, I'll need the concept of rooms, and real time updates to clients in those rooms, so it looks like I'll be using remote shared objects (correct, yes?). I'm not seeing where ZendAMF can support this. So I found this page: http://arunbluebrain.wordpress.com/2009/03/04/flex-frameworks-httpcorlanorg/ It seems to indicate that ZendAMF isn't going to do what I want. WebORB for PHP seems to be the only PHP based solution that does messaging, but on that page it doesn't mention "real-time" next to it like the Java based ones below it do. What should I be looking at for the server piece with my requirements? Do I need to make the jump to something like BlazeDS and try to pick up a bit of Java knowledge? Thanks.

  • C syntax or binary optimized syntax?

    - by Dpp
Let's take an simple example of two lines supposedly doing the same thing: if (value = 96 || value < 0) ... or if (value & ~ 95) ... Say 'If's are costly in a loop of thousands of iterations, is it better to keep with the traditional C syntax or better to find a binary optimized one if possible?

  • Mochiweb's Scalability Features

    - by ErJab
From all the articles I've read so far about Mochiweb, I've heard this over and over again that Mochiweb provides very good scalability. My question is, how exactly does Mochiweb get its scalability property? Is it from Erlang's inherent scalability properties or does Mochiweb have any additional code that explicitly enables it to scale well? Put another way, if I were to write a simple HTTP server in Erlang myself, with a simple 'loop' (recursive function) to handle requests, would it have the same level scalability as a simple web server built using the Mochiweb framework?

  • iPhone SDK: Audio Queue control

    - by codemercenary
Hi all, I am new to the audio queue services so I have taken an example from a book called iPhone Cool Projects where it describes how to stream audio. I want to extend this to being able to play a continuous playlist of links to mp3 files like an internet radio. The problem with the example code it that it does not detect when a stream ends and does not call AudioQueueStop at any point, so I added a counter to number of buffers added to the queue, and then decrement this counter each time audioQueueOutputCallback is called by the queue. This works fine except if when the buffer count goes to 0, and then I add a call AudioQueueFlush(audioQueue) and then AudioQueueStop(audioQueue, false) I get an error. If I only call AudioQueueReset, it continues to load the buffers again, but plays them out faster then it loads them... getting stuck in a loop and then crashing. 2010-04-14 13:56:29.745 AudioPlayer[2269:207] init player with URL 2010-04-14 13:56:29.941 AudioPlayer[2269:207] did recieve data 2010-04-14 13:56:29.942 AudioPlayer[2269:207] audio request didReceiveData 2010-04-14 13:56:29.944 AudioPlayer[2269:207] >>> start audio queue 2010-04-14 13:56:29.960 AudioPlayer[2269:207] packetCallback count 2 2010-04-14 13:56:29.961 AudioPlayer[2269:207] add buffer: 1 2010-04-14 13:56:29.962 AudioPlayer[2269:207] did recieve data 2010-04-14 13:56:29.963 AudioPlayer[2269:207] audio request didReceiveData 2010-04-14 13:56:29.963 AudioPlayer[2269:207] packetCallback count 1 2010-04-14 13:56:29.964 AudioPlayer[2269:207] add buffer: 2 2010-04-14 13:56:29.965 AudioPlayer[2269:207] packetCallback count 13 2010-04-14 13:56:29.967 AudioPlayer[2269:207] add buffer: 3 2010-04-14 13:56:29.968 AudioPlayer[2269:207] done with buffer: 3 2010-04-14 13:56:29.969 AudioPlayer[2269:207] done with buffer: 2 2010-04-14 13:56:29.974 AudioPlayer[2269:207] done with buffer: 1 So this loop continues some 20 - 30 times and then it crashes. The first time it plays an audio file it queues up the buffers and then plays sound, but doesn't callback to delete them until some 100 or more have been played. Can anyone explain this behavior? I read that there was a limit of 1 audio queue for MP3 playback for the iPhone. Is that still true? If not then I suppose I should use another audio queue for the next mp3 stream. I've had a look through the apple docs but it doesn't explain this in any particular detail. A better insight into this would be great. TIA.

  • Need help implementing simple socket server using GIOService (GLib, Glib-GIO)

    - by Mark Renouf
I'm learning the basics of writing a simple, efficient socket server using GLib. I'm experimenting with GSocketService. So far I can only seem to accept connections but then they are immediately closed. From the docs I can't figure out what step I am missing. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me. When running the following: # telnet localhost 4000 Trying 127.0.0.1... Connected to localhost. Escape character is '^]'. • PHP CMS with independent framework.

    - by Simon
We currently use MySource Matrix CMS for large projects, Wordpress CMS for small projects and Zend Framework for bespoke applications... I'm not trying to confuse and compare a CMS to a framework, that has been done before :-) I want to identify a few CMSs for review that have foundations in strong (preferably independent) PHP frameworks. The only one I have looked at is SilverStripe CMS and Sapphire Framework. We have many clients that have a CMS for internet and/ or extranet and then various other bespoke applications that are then integrated via various means to look like they're in the CMS. I believe it will be more productive and beneficial to have a common framework between these branches so they can be natively merged. Hope this makes sense. PS. I have used custom assets in MySource Matrix and specific modules in other CMS but you feel you are working for the CMS not the application you are building.

  • Sequence reduction in R

    - by drknexus
Assume you have a vector like so: v <- c(1,1,1,2,2,2,2,1,1,3,3,3,3) How can it be best reduced to a data.frame like this? v.df <- data.frame(value=c(1,2,1,3),repetitions=c(3,4,2,4)) In a procedural language I might just iterate through a loop and build the data.frame as I go, but with a large dataset in R such an approach is inefficient. Any advice?

  • Embedded views and resources (mvc)

    - by Steve Ward
Hi I've embedded several views in a library so that I can re-use across projects using this method which works OK: http://www.wynia.org/wordpress/2008/12/aspnet-mvc-plugins/ But one view usings a Javascript file. I've tried marking this as an embedded resource and adding it AssemblyInfo.cs and then referencing this resource using <%= ClientScript.GetWebResourceUrl(this.GetType(), "FullPath.FileName.js")%> This is literally displaying this output in the view WebResource.axd?d=nUxqfqAUQLabLU54W I think this is because Im trying to refer to an embedded resource from an embedded resource. Help appreciated as Im going round in circles.. Steve

  • Problem with displaying and downloading email attachments using the zend framework

    - by Ali
    Hi guys I'm trying to display emails in my inbox and their respective attachments. At the same time I also wish to be able to download the attachments however I'm kinda stuck here. Here is the code I use to display the attachments: $one_message = $mail->getMessage($i); $one_message->id = $i; $one_message->UID = $mail->getUniqueId($i); // get the contact of this message $email = array_pop(extract_emails_from($one_message->from)); $one_message->contactFrom = $contact_manager->get_person_from_email($email); $one_message->parts = array(); foreach (new RecursiveIteratorIterator($mail->getMessage($i)) as $ii=>$part) { try { $tpart = $part; $one_message->parts[$ii] = $tpart; // put the part of the message indexed with what I assume is its position if (strtok($part->contentType, ';') == 'text/html') { $b = $part->getContent(); $h2t->set_html($b); $one_message->body = $h2t->get_text(); } if (strtok($part->contentType, ';') == 'text/plain') { $b = $part->getContent(); $one_message->body = $part->getContent(); } } catch (Zend_Mail_Exception $e) { // ignore } } And I display the attachments using the following link: ?action=download&element=email-attachment&box=inbox&uid=<?php echo $one_message->UID;?>&id=<?php echo $one_message->id;?>&part=<?php echo $ii;?> The part variable is the index taken from the loop above However when I try to download using the exact same code as above modified slightly: $id = $_GET['id']; $pid = $_GET['part']; $one_message = $mail->getMessage($id); foreach (new RecursiveIteratorIterator($mail->getMessage($id)) as $ii=>$part) { if($pid == $ii): $content = base64_decode($part->getContent()); $cnt_typ = explode(";" , $part->contentType); $name = explode("=",$cnt_typ[1]); $filename = $name[1];//It is the file name of the attachement in browser //This for avoiding " from the file name when sent from yahoomail $filename = str_replace('"'," ",$filename); $filename = trim($filename); header("Cache-Control: public"); header("Content-Type: ".$cn_typ[1]); header("Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=\"" . $filename . "\""); header("Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary"); echo $content; exit; endif; } For some reason it doesn't work at all. I did a var dump and noticed that in the for loop with the reverseiterator teh indexes $ii returned are 1 - 2 - 2 !! Whats going on here how can the indexes be repeated? How can I tell one part from the others?

  • open_basedir vs sessions

    - by liquorvicar
On a virtual hosting server I have the open_basedir set to .:/path/to/vhost/web:/tmp:/usr/share/pear for each virtual host. I have a client who's running WordPress and he's complaining about open_basedir errors thus: PHP WARNING: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/var/lib/php/session/sess_42k7jn3vjenj43g3njorrnrmf2) is not within the allowed path(s): (.:/path/to/vhost/web:/tmp:/usr/share/pear) So the PHP session save_path isn't included in open_basedir but sessions across all sites on the server seems to be working fine apart from in this intermittent instance. I thought that perhaps the default session handler ignored open_basedir and this warning was caused by WP accessing the session file directly. However from what I can see PHP 5.2.4 introduced open_basedir checking to the session.save_path config: http://www.php.net/ChangeLog-5.php#5.2.4 (I am on PHP 5.2.13). Any ideas?

I've been experimenting with the URL Alter module, which provides an alternative to messing with custom_url_rewrite functions settings.php but keep getting 404. Waiting to hear back from the module maintainer if this is what the module is intended for. In the meantime I am wondering how others do this? Should I be using .htaccess?

  • Database design in blogging systems

I would like to ask you, what do you think is best database design for this type of script. Is it better to have one big table, containing posts from all blogs of all users (like friendfeed) or would it be better to create separate table for each blog's posts? Big thanks in advance for your help, Peter.

  • Problem with Google App Engine Appstats

    - by Taylor L
    I'm having an issue getting Appstats to work correctly. Using /appstats or /appstats/stats ends up in an infinite loop that keeps redirecting back to /appstats/stats. This results in a 404 error saying the page isn't redirecting properly. Any idea what the issue is? Here are the relevant lines in my appengine-web.xml. I've tried using both /appstats/stats and /appstats and they both have the same issue. <admin-console> <page name="Appstats" url="/appstats/stats" /> </admin-console> Below are the http headers showing the infinite redirect loop: http://mysite.appspot.com/appstats/stats GET /appstats/stats HTTP/1.1 Host: mysite.appspot.com User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv: 1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/ *;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 115 Connection: keep-alive Cookie: USER_LOCALE=en_US; JSESSIONID=POTIUPPpEmjHZoaNDWOSTA; ACSID=AJKiYcHiwT8jH7e01V9O5iFu3kpBhDd3k3oBwwxylv5u0DbJ- utvdpsgdb4Xim2WXwobkJmgTGGljvuh94_yVQ__- VPnBsTtUAhRjSyZ2Lv3G7oUHAxTsCWHJIMChGT3- XUyUNx8wxwvJisL_RTXH8Hc4TTLh_rVHm2k8gk8kgdbVZXexSV0K- a3coELTecWIBolt0qLd5L-5vALm382KsqbHorPXqoZMPTvR_06g_mR1cbmF2Ihnk6YhP7no58BNpESM9HvFyKNKXODo39hF4oaZCcW0Q9TBqUMgsrBqlcIh3- VvC7qvH0n_nAtrLTBbK_swnOFvCDcaf3whT9ty0CJ0VRNuNqIPOLHIeQAMgwXUNMr89P64EsgmuyONHR67glCQXEPOGXIaT1vcBJFwFoeNUqjdp824fHvoVhaL7Xlav- LTIFuM3f_ymHLmibk57PRuXUYEaAG HTTP/1.1 302 Found Location: http://mysite.appspot.com/appstats/stats X-AppEngine-Estimated-CPM-US-Dollars: $0.645553 X-AppEngine-Resource-Usage: ms=18965 cpu_ms=27884 api_cpu_ms=0 Set-Cookie: ACSID=AJKiYcF_YA7PB18b3T5OO7vEMo31f1hFhO8xKqFRiBUGrCr4YABAAyugZXcDfKMOM- r0FiK8xlOPfQWx3tOWIJ6ueOqK89X8M9YfHIs8WKUcSs6PwNZSKV0HKxvbqeWxfZI_cpo2YoS73s_RPlyEvjaYLOf6iXPpWeYyKTAbSqPOEBnVnTk3oso6ur66CIj3FnN8vsHfbanqY4sbaRsNj9pLjWZco0quYLOK1fd4wRZx_oAvk3jOlfAj7BZ7p9L1bO8oVCMpVn19cwT6zvO2-9RSjfiOPAacw7Cg0MT30r7Fr7SCj7VcSPAye4lc7tb9KL9ztZEk0xbEX-9vC6vHM_VfPJ54Kb_FycxE6lACsKTE4hj0bOa2-2quaOP0NSxfoH9ozLlQQCsGhpWBnlu__W06D0GqDqxcDUu2HocYqWuLi91aoa- aRTkqB_qo4aAa3OvHeKoFgwrS; expires=Mon, 12-Apr-2010 19:41:49 GMT; path=/ Date: Sun, 11 Apr 2010 19:42:08 GMT Pragma: no-cache Expires: Fri, 01 Jan 1990 00:00:00 GMT Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate Content-Type: text/html Server: Google Frontend Content-Length: 0 ---------------------------------------------------------- http://mysite.appspot.com/appstats/stats GET /appstats/stats HTTP/1.1 Host: mysite.appspot.com User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv: 1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Accept: text/html,application/xhtml+xml,application/xml;q=0.9,*/ *;q=0.8 Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5 Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7 Keep-Alive: 115 Connection: keep-alive Cookie: USER_LOCALE=en_US; JSESSIONID=POTIUPPpEmjHZoaNDWOSTA; ACSID=AJKiYcF_YA7PB18b3T5OO7vEMo31f1hFhO8xKqFRiBUGrCr4YABAAyugZXcDfKMOM- r0FiK8xlOPfQWx3tOWIJ6ueOqK89X8M9YfHIs8WKUcSs6PwNZSKV0HKxvbqeWxfZI_cpo2YoS73s_RPlyEvjaYLOf6iXPpWeYyKTAbSqPOEBnVnTk3oso6ur66CIj3FnN8vsHfbanqY4sbaRsNj9pLjWZco0quYLOK1fd4wRZx_oAvk3jOlfAj7BZ7p9L1bO8oVCMpVn19cwT6zvO2-9RSjfiOPAacw7Cg0MT30r7Fr7SCj7VcSPAye4lc7tb9KL9ztZEk0xbEX-9vC6vHM_VfPJ54Kb_FycxE6lACsKTE4hj0bOa2-2quaOP0NSxfoH9ozLlQQCsGhpWBnlu__W06D0GqDqxcDUu2HocYqWuLi91aoa- aRTkqB_qo4aAa3OvHeKoFgwrS HTTP/1.1 302 Found Location: http://mysite.appspot.com/appstats/stats X-AppEngine-Estimated-CPM-US-Dollars: $0.002243 X-AppEngine-Resource-Usage: ms=64 cpu_ms=93 api_cpu_ms=0 Date: Sun, 11 Apr 2010 19:42:08 GMT Content-Type: text/html Server: Google Frontend Content-Length: 0

  • Inverse Kinematics with OpenGL/Eigen3 : unstable jacobian pseudoinverse

    - by SigTerm
    I'm trying to implement simple inverse kinematics test using OpenGL, Eigen3 and "jacobian pseudoinverse" method. The system works fine using "jacobian transpose" algorithm, however, as soon as I attempt to use "pseudoinverse", joints become unstable and start jerking around (eventually they freeze completely - unless I use "jacobian transpose" fallback computation). I've investigated the issue and turns out that in some cases jacobian.inverse()*jacobian has zero determinant and cannot be inverted. However, I've seen other demos on the internet (youtube) that claim to use same method and they do not seem to have this problem. So I'm uncertain where is the cause of the issue. Code is attached below: *.h: struct Ik{ float targetAngle; float ikLength; VectorXf angles; Vector3f root, target; Vector3f jointPos(int ikIndex); size_t size() const; Vector3f getEndPos(int index, const VectorXf& vec); void resize(size_t size); void update(float t); void render(); Ik(): targetAngle(0), ikLength(10){ } }; *.cpp: size_t Ik::size() const{ return angles.rows(); } Vector3f Ik::getEndPos(int index, const VectorXf& vec){ Vector3f pos(0, 0, 0); while(true){ Eigen::Affine3f t; float radAngle = pi*vec[index]/180.0f; t = Eigen::AngleAxisf(radAngle, Vector3f(-1, 0, 0)) * Eigen::Translation3f(Vector3f(0, 0, ikLength)); pos = t * pos; if (index == 0) break; index--; } return pos; } void Ik::resize(size_t size){ angles.resize(size); angles.setZero(); } void drawMarker(Vector3f p){ glBegin(GL_LINES); glVertex3f(p[0]-1, p[1], p[2]); glVertex3f(p[0]+1, p[1], p[2]); glVertex3f(p[0], p[1]-1, p[2]); glVertex3f(p[0], p[1]+1, p[2]); glVertex3f(p[0], p[1], p[2]-1); glVertex3f(p[0], p[1], p[2]+1); glEnd(); } void drawIkArm(float length){ glBegin(GL_LINES); float f = 0.25f; glVertex3f(0, 0, length); glVertex3f(-f, -f, 0); glVertex3f(0, 0, length); glVertex3f(f, -f, 0); glVertex3f(0, 0, length); glVertex3f(f, f, 0); glVertex3f(0, 0, length); glVertex3f(-f, f, 0); glEnd(); glBegin(GL_LINE_LOOP); glVertex3f(f, f, 0); glVertex3f(-f, f, 0); glVertex3f(-f, -f, 0); glVertex3f(f, -f, 0); glEnd(); } void Ik::update(float t){ targetAngle += t * pi*2.0f/10.0f; while (t > pi*2.0f) t -= pi*2.0f; target << 0, 8 + 3*sinf(targetAngle), cosf(targetAngle)*4.0f+5.0f; Vector3f tmpTarget = target; Vector3f targetDiff = tmpTarget - root; float l = targetDiff.norm(); float maxLen = ikLength*(float)angles.size() - 0.01f; if (l > maxLen){ targetDiff *= maxLen/l; l = targetDiff.norm(); tmpTarget = root + targetDiff; } Vector3f endPos = getEndPos(size()-1, angles); Vector3f diff = tmpTarget - endPos; float maxAngle = 360.0f/(float)angles.size(); for(int loop = 0; loop < 1; loop++){ MatrixXf jacobian(diff.rows(), angles.rows()); jacobian.setZero(); float step = 1.0f; for (int i = 0; i < angles.size(); i++){ Vector3f curRoot = root; if (i) curRoot = getEndPos(i-1, angles); Vector3f axis(1, 0, 0); Vector3f n = endPos - curRoot; float l = n.norm(); if (l) n /= l; n = n.cross(axis); if (l) n *= l*step*pi/180.0f; //std::cout << n << "\n"; for (int j = 0; j < 3; j++) jacobian(j, i) = n[j]; } std::cout << jacobian << std::endl; MatrixXf jjt = jacobian.transpose()*jacobian; //std::cout << jjt << std::endl; float d = jjt.determinant(); MatrixXf invJ; float scale = 0.1f; if (!d /*|| true*/){ invJ = jacobian.transpose(); scale = 5.0f; std::cout << "fallback to jacobian transpose!\n"; } else{ invJ = jjt.inverse()*jacobian.transpose(); std::cout << "jacobian pseudo-inverse!\n"; } //std::cout << invJ << std::endl; VectorXf add = invJ*diff*step*scale; //std::cout << add << std::endl; float maxSpeed = 15.0f; for (int i = 0; i < add.size(); i++){ float& cur = add[i]; cur = std::max(-maxSpeed, std::min(maxSpeed, cur)); } angles += add; for (int i = 0; i < angles.size(); i++){ float& cur = angles[i]; if (i) cur = std::max(-maxAngle, std::min(maxAngle, cur)); } } } void Ik::render(){ glPushMatrix(); glTranslatef(root[0], root[1], root[2]); for (int i = 0; i < angles.size(); i++){ glRotatef(angles[i], -1, 0, 0); drawIkArm(ikLength); glTranslatef(0, 0, ikLength); } glPopMatrix(); drawMarker(target); for (int i = 0; i < angles.size(); i++) drawMarker(getEndPos(i, angles)); } Any help will be appreciated.

  • Slow performance when utilizing Interop.DSOFile to search files by Custom Document Property

    - by Gradatc
I am new to the world of VB.NET and have been tasked to put together a little program to search a directory of about 2000 Excel spreadsheets and put together a list to display based on the value of a Custom Document Property within that spreadsheet file. Given that I am far from a computer programmer by education or trade, this has been an adventure. I've gotten it to work, the results are fine. The problem is, it takes well over a minute to run. It is being run over a LAN connection. When I run it locally (using a 'test' directory of about 300 files) it executes in about 4 seconds. I'm not sure even what to expect as a reasonable execution speed, so I thought I would ask here. The code is below, if anyone thinks changes there might be of use in speeding things up. Thank you in advance! Private Sub listByPt() Dim di As New IO.DirectoryInfo(dir_loc) Dim aryFiles As IO.FileInfo() = di.GetFiles("*" & ext_to_check) Dim fi As IO.FileInfo Dim dso As DSOFile.OleDocumentProperties Dim sfilename As String Dim sheetInfo As Object Dim sfileCount As String Dim ifilesDone As Integer Dim errorList As New ArrayList() Dim ErrorFile As Object Dim ErrorMessage As String 'Initialize progress bar values ifilesDone = 0 sfileCount = di.GetFiles("*" & ext_to_check).Length Me.lblHighProgress.Text = sfileCount Me.lblLowProgress.Text = 0 With Me.progressMain .Maximum = di.GetFiles("*" & ext_to_check).Length .Minimum = 0 .Value = 0 End With 'Loop through all files in the search directory For Each fi In aryFiles dso = New DSOFile.OleDocumentProperties sfilename = fi.FullName Try dso.Open(sfilename, True) 'grab the PT Initials off of the logsheet Catch excep As Runtime.InteropServices.COMException errorList.Add(sfilename) End Try Try sheetInfo = dso.CustomProperties("PTNameChecker").Value Catch ex As Runtime.InteropServices.COMException sheetInfo = "NONE" End Try 'Check to see if the initials on the log sheet 'match those we are searching for If sheetInfo = lstInitials.SelectedValue Then Dim logsheet As New LogSheet logsheet.PTInitials = sheetInfo logsheet.FileName = sfilename PTFiles.Add(logsheet) End If 'update progress bar Me.progressMain.Increment(1) ifilesDone = ifilesDone + 1 lblLowProgress.Text = ifilesDone dso.Close() Next lstResults.Items.Clear() 'loop through results in the PTFiles list 'add results to the listbox, removing the path info For Each showsheet As LogSheet In PTFiles lstResults.Items.Add(Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(showsheet.FileName)) Next 'build error message to display to user ErrorMessage = "" For Each ErrorFile In errorList ErrorMessage += ErrorFile & vbCrLf Next MsgBox("The following Log Sheets were unable to be checked" _ & vbCrLf & ErrorMessage) PTFiles.Clear() 'empty PTFiles for next use End Sub

  • Sorted list of file names in a folder in VBA?

    - by Karsten W.
Is there a way to get a sorted list of file names of a folder in VBA? Up to now, I arrived at Dim fso As Object Dim objFolder As Object Dim objFileList As Object Dim vFile As Variant Dim sFolder As String sFolder = "C:\Docs" Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set objFolder = fso.GetFolder(sFolder) Set objFileList = objFolder.Files For Each vFile In objFileList ' do something ' Next vFile but it is crucial to be sure the processing order of the for loop is determined by the file names... Any help appreciated!
