    I have code: class Scene def initialize(number) @number = number end attr_reader :number end scenes = [Scene.new("one"), Scene.new("one"), Scene.new("two"), Scene.new("one")] groups = scenes.inject({}) do |new_hash, scene| new_hash[scene.number] = [] if new_hash[scene.number].nil? new_hash[scene.number] << scene end When I'm lauching it I get error: freq.rb:11:in `[]': can't convert String into Integer (TypeError) from freq.rb:11:in `block in <main>' from freq.rb:10:in `each' from freq.rb:10:in `inject' from freq.rb:10:in `<main>' If I change scenes to: scenes = [Scene.new(1), Scene.new(1), Scene.new(2), Scene.new(1)] the problem dissapear. Why I get error message in the first case? Why Ruby decide to convert scene.number from String to Integer? And one additional question about the 'inject' method. When Ruby initialize the 'new_hash' variable and how can Ruby know the type of this variable?

    Is it possible to integrate Cppcheck with Emacs in a more sophisticated way than simply calling the shell command on the current buffer? I would like Emacs to be able to parse Cppcheck's messages and treat them as messages from a compiler (similar to how compile works), such as using C-x ` to visit the targets of Cppcheck's messages.     I want to search a table in editing mode, but when I type a letter the variable tableView.editing is changed to NO. And when I cancel the search, the tableView.editing return to YES. I'd like to retain the editing YES in the result of the search. I put breakpoint in several methods.   • Bluetooth connect to a RS232 adapter in android

    Hello All, I am trying to use the Bluetooth Chat sample API app that google provides to connect to a bluetooth RS232 adapter hooked up to another device. Here is the app for reference: http://developer.android.com/resources/samples/BluetoothChat/index.html And here is the spec sheet for the RS232 connector just for reference: http://serialio.com/download/Docs/BlueSnap-guide-4.77%5FCommands.pdf Well the problem is that when I go to connect to the device with: mmSocket.connect(); (BluetoothSocket::connect()) I always get an IOException error thrown by the connect method. When I do a toString on the exception I get "Service discovery failed". My question is mostly what are the cases that would cause an IOException to get thrown in the connect method? I know those are in the source somewhere but I don't know exactly how the java layer that you write apps in and the C/C++ layer that contains the actual stacks interface. I know that it uses the bluez bluetooth stack which is written in C/C++ but not sure how that ties into the java layer which is what I would think is throwing the exception. Any help on pointing me to where I can try to dissect this issue would be incredible. Also just to note I am able to pair with the RS232 adapter just fine but I am never able to actually connect.   • StreamReader.ReadToEnd() returning an empty string

    I have a method private static String DecompressAndDecode(byte[] data) { GZipStream decompressor = new GZipStream(new MemoryStream(data), CompressionMode.Decompress); StreamReader decompressed = new StreamReader(decompressor, Encoding.UTF8); String result = decompressed.ReadToEnd(); return result; } I have some GZipped text as input and the result is supposed to be a String representation of this text. The problem is that the method returns an empty string. What is puzzling me is that when I step trough the method in debug mode and reach the return statement the result variable is an empty string but if I create a watch for the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression it returns me the text. What I would expect at this point is the result variable to contain the text and the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression evaluating to an empty string. (Reevaluating the decompressed.ReadToEnd() expression returns an empty string as expected). There must be something obvious I'm missing here.

  • Web Site in solution where "Rebuild Solution" compile succeeds cannot launch debugger

    I have a solution that includes a Web Site (created using the web site template not the web app project template - converting isn't an option, btw). When I rebuild all, the compile succeeds, but strangely displays 3 errors, all of which are "Could not get dependencies for project reference 'PROJNAME'". When I try to launch the debugger, I get the "There were build errors." dialogue. Two questions: If I choose the 'Yes' option in the debug error dialogue to run the last successful build, will it run on the code that my Rebuild All just compiled? How do I resolve this issue? I checked this post and am disheartened by my prospects. What is strange, though, is that I added these same projects to a separate web site solution that compiled/debugged fine, removed the test web site and re-added the target website I would like to debug, and it failed in the same manner.   • onload Event in embedded SVG not calling function in attached script. Scope Issue?

    Hi So I've got an XHTML page with a script - not inline > <script type="text/javascript" > src="../global/js/scripts.js"></script> and an embedded (I tried embed and object, same behavior) SVG document with a onload="CheckIfLoaded(evt)" attribute. The problem is firefox doesn't call the CheckIfLoaded() function in scripts.js. Firebug gives me "CheckIfLoaded() is not defined" with no reference to any line numbers. I can't find any information regarding the scope of javascript functions with respect to embedded content. Curiously, it works fine in IE. I could of course add a reference to the script into the SVG file as well but I believe that will result in the client downloading the scripts file twice and in addition I have 1000+ svg files and I'd really rather not add one line to all of them, although I suppose I could write a batch file or whatever if I have to.     I have all my views in a project inheriting from a ViewBase class that inherits from UserControl.     I have a "global variable" XML schema in TIBCO BusinessWorks. It's simpler than it looks - basically just a single repeatable node. Image: Tibco globals. (old URL redacted) Various processes in the system can update this list. Checking to see if they are listed is easy: $GetVariable/subscriber-list/subscriber = $_processContext/ns:ProcessContext/ProcessId Adding themselves to the list is pretty easy too, using a Set Variable activity (see bottom half of image) But how can a process remove itself from the list? I'm sure there's a type of mapping I can use to filter out the node I want and let the rest through?

  • msysgit bash shell- how to troubleshoot "cannot find command"

    I need help getting git extensions to run with msysgit. I have had bad luck with extensions git-tfs and git-fetchall, in both cases it is the same problem. The addon will require a file to be placed where git can find it (git-tfs.exe and git-fetchall.sh). I understand this to mean the files need to be in a directory that is in the 'PATH' environment variable. In both cases I get stuck at this point: $ git-diffall bash: git-diffall: command not found or: $ git-tfs bash: git-tfs: command not found When I run echo %PATH% from a regular command shell, it shows my path variable includes the directories where git-diffall and git-tfs are. How can I debug this, or am I missing something? Is there a way within msysgit to verify the command search path is what I expect?

    I've been asked to take a look at an error in an ASP/C# application with its Paypal integration. The error, shown in full, is: Could not load file or assembly 'log4net, Version=1.2.0.30714, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b32731d11ce58905' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) From what I understand, this means that the actual file located (that is, log4net.dll in my bin directory) does not match the version expected based on some assembly configuration. The problem I'm having is that I cannot locate where this file is being referenced. I have access to all the files in the web root directory of the site, and cannot locate any config files that reference this DLL. Where else might I need to look to determine what's causing the mis-match? As a note, I've made sure that the version of the DLL in the bin directory is up to date, but this does not seem to have resolved anything.

    Hello, I'm trying to convert some c code to assmebly, and I need some help. char encode(char plain){ __asm{ mov eax, plain add eax, 2 ret } //C code /* char code; code = plain+2; return code;*/ } First problem is that visual studio complains that the register size doesn't match, i.e. eax is too small/large for char. I was under the impression that they were both DWORDs. Also, if I leave the variable in eax, and ret in assembly, it'll actually return that variable, right?

    Hi, I am using dotnetCHARTING: the dll is installed in the GAC and referenced in my web.config (all versions appear to match). The project has a reference to the dll. web.config: <add assembly="dotnetCHARTING, Version=5.3.3540.17054, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=af2cd47db69d93bd"/> The site code compiles ok, but all aspx pages using the charting library complain that the Chart tag does not exist (warning that it might be a compile error). The aspx pages do not render the charts. Each page has a reference to the assembly: <%@ Register Assembly="dotnetCHARTING" Namespace="dotnetCHARTING" TagPrefix="dotnetCHARTING" %> Does anybody know what could be causing this?   • Where can I find a description of the old British Standard structured flow charts?

    Some professional organisation defined these in, IIRC, the early 80s as similar to the more well known flow charts, but "structured". Instead of having arbitrary "goto" arrows, they had the equivalent of loops etc. They were standardized, and I vaguely remember studying them briefly at O Level. Of course they were about as useful as the well-known chocolate teapot, but I'd still like to be able to find a reference guide for them if possible - for roughly the same reason I was looking for a reference for standard Basic a while back. Google tells me - well, nothing really. They may as well never have existed. Which is probably nearly (and perhaps completely) true - I certainly never heard of them anywhere else except when I was at school. There's a chance that they may even be my computer science teachers little joke.

    Hi, I am new to Zend Frame Work. I am using $ajaxContext = $this-_helper-getHelper('AjaxContext'); for adding action contexts. I have one Index.phtml page and all other views are ajax.phtml pages. I have to do some java script methods in the ajax.phtml pages. But i didn't find a way to refer the js files in the ajax.phtml pages. I have tried adding those in the controller init and index action, using $this-view-headScript()-appendFile, though i have the reference added in the page source, none of htese seems to be working on the ajax content. Then i tried to add it in the action for the ajax page, then it is not coming in the page source itself. As far as i understood, $this-view-headScript()-appendFile will append the file reference to the layout page and for the ajax.phtml pages, the layout will be disabled. Is there any way that i can refer my js files in the ajax.phtml pages?

    I am using VBScript to copy files using xcopy. The problem is that the folder path has to be entered by the user. Assuming I put that path in a variable, say h, how do I use this variable in the xcopy command? Here is the code I tried: Dim WshShell, oExec, g, h h = "D:\newfolder" g = "xcopy $h D:\y\ /E" Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") Set oExec = WshShell.Exec(g) I also tried &h but it did not work.     I came across many questions on deep copy but non of them helped me I have a class say class A { ... public List<B> ListB; .... } where B is again another class which inturn may inherit/contain some other classes Take this scenario A is a very huge class and contain many reference types I can not mark B as serializable as i don't have access to source code of B(Though I can Mark A as serializable) Problem:below methods to perform deep copy does not work because I can not use Iclonable, memberwise clone technique as class A conatins many reference types I can not write a copy constructor for A , as the class is huge and keeps growing and contained classes (Like B) can't be deep copied I can't use serialization technique as i can not mark conatined class(like B, for which no source code avilaable) as serializable So how can I deep copy the object of Class A? (I read about "surrogate serialization" technique some where but not clear)

    Hi, I'm a bit of a visual studio noob. I have just restarted a project in which I am using NHibernate. The project worked fine last time I used it but now is giving the following error. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. What is the best way to get this up and running again? Try and find the appropriate version of the dll or sort out the manifest file? Any pointers much appreciated.

  • In SQL Server can I insert multiple nodes into XML from a table?

    I want to generate some XML in a stored procedure based on data in a table. The following insert allows me to add many nodes but they have to be hard-coded or use variables (sql:variable): SET @MyXml.modify(' insert <myNode> {sql:variable("@MyVariable")} </myNode> into (/root[1]) ') So I could loop through each record in my table, put the values I need into variables and execute the above statement. But is there a way I can do this by just combining with a select statement and avoiding the loop? Edit I have used SELECT FOR XML to do similar stuff before but I always find it hard to read when working with a hierarchy of data from multiple tables. I was hoping there would be something using the modify where the XML generated is more explicit and more controllable.
