• h:dataTable alternating rows in JSF2

  Hello. I'm trying to make alternating rows in JSF2 h:dataTable (no richfaces or such) but i get an unexpected result. the table is built but it has a white grid shown (but i didn't specifiy any border) and there's no buttom line under each row.   I'm trying to create a ggplot2 plot with the legend beneath the plot. The ggplot2 book says on p 112 "The position and justification of legends are controlled by the theme setting legend.position, and the value can be right, left, top, bottom, none (no legend), or a numeric position". The following code works (since "right" it is the default), and it also works with "none" as the legend position, but "left", "top", "bottom", all fail with "Error in grid.Call.graphics("L_setviewport", pvp, TRUE) : Non-finite location and/or size for viewport" library(ggplot2) (myDat <- data.frame(cbind(VarX=10:1, VarY=runif(10)), Descrip=sample(LETTERS[1:3], 10, replace=TRUE))) qplot(VarX,VarY, data=myDat, shape=Descrip) + opts(legend.position="right") What am I doing wrong? • Excel Range Format: Number is automatically formatted when Range::Value2 is set

  I have an Excel addin written in C# that imports a text file into Excel worksheet. Some of the fields in the file are text and some oare numbers. Problem Steps: Change the System's Regional Settings to Dutch (Belgium) Open Excel and import the file into Excel. Records contain values such as 78,1118 which gets converted to 781.118. Note that in Dutch(Belgium), COMMA is the decimal character and DOT is the thousand character. I do not require the number to be formatted automatically but just want to display whatver I get from the file (78,1118). If I set the cell's NumberFormat to "@" i.e. Text, then it displays an error (SmartTag) saying "Number stored as Text". I know I can change the settings by going to the "Options" box but I dont want to change any user options in Excel for this. I have tried setting the cell's Value2 with an "'" (apostrophe) but the same error is displayed. If I set the cell's format to something else after the value is set then the actual value changes and I loose the decimal. Is there a way in Excel to just display the value and NOT display the "Number Stored as Text" error in cell?

• Wordpress displays posts of category ID

  Can't seem to find the right answer for what I thought would be trivial. I have some categories arranged like this... Parent Category 1 - Child Category 1 - Child Category 2 - Child Category 3 ...and I have some posts that are in Child Category 2. I want my page to display all posts from the category I am currently in.   Hi, I am getting a timeout exception when trying to use a net tcp endpoint through code that has no security and is streamed like so: NetTcpBinding binding = new NetTcpBinding(SecurityMode.None); binding.TransferMode = TransferMode.Streamed; binding.SendTimeout = TimeSpan.MaxValue; the same code would work if i just leave out the SecurityMode.None or choose SecurityMode.Transport, the exception is on a timeout that is too low, i tired adding all the timeouts for recive, send, open, close and set them all to Max and that didnt work. im using sample code from: http://csharp-codesamples.com/2009/02/data-transfer-using-self-hosted-wcf-service/ Any explenation as to how to use no security in this scenario would be appriciated. • UISearchDisplayController not working when created in code??

  I'm working on a tab bar application and one of the tabs has a UISearchDisplayController hooked up to a UISearchBar. It's all connected up in the NIB and is working. When I tap the search bar, the Scope and Cancel buttons fly in etc, and the search delegate updates the results table correctly. However, I'm trying to implement the same code in the viewDidLoad message instead of the NIB, however when I delete the search display controller from the NIB and uncomment my code to create the same controller in the function, it doesn't work. It's as if there's some fundamental connection not being made so that all my search delegate functionality isn't being called. Here's my working NIB version of the Search Display Controller. It's hooked up to the search bar, the UINavigationController subclass (MASearchController) and the root view of that is hooked up as the searchContentsController. Now this is what you would expect to do in code to create the same, right? What I'm doing is leaving the UISearchBar in the NIB to eliminate one piece of the puzzle at a time in code. // [MASearchController viewDidLoad] UISearchDisplayController *searchController = [[[UISearchDisplayController alloc] initWithSearchBar:searchBar contentsController:[[self viewControllers] objectAtIndex:0]] autorelease]; [searchController setDelegate:self]; [searchController setSearchResultsDelegate:self]; [searchController setSearchResultsDataSource:self]; I've checked all objects at run time and they all check out.   i have a function which has all optional arguments. is it possible to override a an argument of a function without supplying the first? in the code below, i'd like to keep most of the default arguments for the drawSprite function, and only override the last argument, which is the sprite's color. but how can i call the object?   Okay, so I am sick of writing this... res = Something.objects.filter(asdf=something) if res: single = res[0] else: single = None if single: # do some stuff I would much rather be able to do something like this: single = Something.objects.filter(asdf=something) if single: #do some stuff I want to be able to grab a single object without testing the filtered results. In other words, when i know there is either going to be 1 or 0 matching entries, I would like to jump right to that entry, otherwise just get a 'None'. The DoesNotExist error that goes along with .get does not always work so well when trying to compress these queries into a single line. Is there any way to do what I have described?

  I'm installing the Android SDK on Mac OS X. Following the instructions on the Android Development site, I've downloaded the SDK and modified my .bash_profile to include the path. The next step is to use the Android SDK and AVD Manager to actually download the platforms. However, when I use the Manager to install the platforms, I get the following error in the Terminal.   Hi there, I have a simple application to store address details and edit them. I have been away from VB for a few years now and need to refreash my knowledge while working to a tight deadline. I have a general Sub responsible for displaying a form where user can add contact details (by pressing button add) and edit them (by pressing button edit). This sub is stored in a class Contact. The way it is supposed to work is that there is a list with all the contacts and when new contact is added a new entry is displayed. If user wants to edit given entry he or she selects it and presses edit button Public Sub Display() Dim C As New Contact C.Cont = InputBox("Enter a title for this contact.")   I've got a drop-down where the user selects a Country. It is a required "field". Next to it, there is a textfield named State. If the user selects US, then the field State is required. If the user selects e.g. Sweden, the State is not required, since Sweden has no states. • Pyramid.security: Is getting user info from a database with unauthenticated_userid(request) really secure?

  I'm trying to make an accesible cache of user data using Pyramid doc's "Making A “User Object” Available as a Request Attribute" example. That means that user might not be logged in, so why are you using that ID to get there private info from the database? Shouldn't userid = authenticated_userid(request) be used instead to make sure the user is logged in? What's the advantage of using unauthenticated_userid(request)? Please help me understand what's going on here.

• How to improve my Python regex syntax?

  I very new to Python, and fairly new to regex. (I have no Perl experience.) I am able to use regular expressions in a way that works, but I'm not sure that my code is particularly Pythonic or consise. For example, If I wanted to read in a text file and print out text that appears directly between the words 'foo' and 'bar' in each line (presuming this occurred one or zero times a line) I would write the following: fileList = open(inFile, 'r') pattern = re.compile(r'(foo)(.*)(bar)') for line in fileList: result = pattern.search(line) if (result != None): print result.groups()[1] Is there a better way? The if is necessary to avoid calling groups() on None. But I suspect there is a more concise way to obtain the matching String when there is one, without throwing errors when there isn't. I'm not hoping for Perl-like unreadability. I just want to accomplish this common task in the commonest and simplest way.

• How can I terminate a system command with alarm in Perl?

  I am running the below code snippet on Windows. The server starts listening continuously after reading from client. I want to terminate this command after a time period. If I use alarm() function call within main.pl, then it terminates the whole Perl program (here main.pl), so I called this system command by placing it in a separate Perl file and calling this Perl file (alarm.pl) in the original Perl File using the system command. But in this way I was unable to take the output of this system() call neither in the original Perl File nor in called one Perl File.   Centos 6 recognises and configures a HP LaserJet P3015dn printer connected via USB. This machine is being configured as a small group file/print server. I can print a test page, which is processed/printed correctly. The next time printing is attempted (say printing a second test page), the page is not printed and the printer is set to disabled. • Server 2008 Web Edition IIS6 SMTP conflict

  I'm using IIS6 Manager to setup the SMTP service on Windows Server 2008 Web Edition. Ignoring how mental this is, there seems to be a conflict (port 25?) which means that I cannot start and stop the Default SMTP server within IIS6. I can start and stop it with the services.msc snap in and this is reflected in state of the SMTP server in IIS6 manager. I'm worried that none of the settings I want to get at within IIS6 (logging, authentication etc..) are having any effect. None of these settings are available within IIS7 in Web Edition. Idiotic.
