My question: Is there a method for injecting the Google AJAX Libraries API / jQuery into a page regardless of the onload/onready state?

  • JQuery templating engines

    I am looking for a template engine to use client side. I have been trying a few like jsRepeater and jQuery Templates. While they seem to work OK in FireFox they all seem to break down in IE7 when it comes down to rendering HTML tables. I also took a look at MicrosoftAjaxTemplates.js (from http://www.codeplex.com/aspnet/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=16766) but turns out that has the same problem. Any advice on other templating engines to use?

  • When will `git pull --rebase` get me in to trouble?

    I understand that when I use git pull --rebase, git will re-write history and move my local commits to occur after all of the commits in the branch I just pulled from. What I don't understand is how this would ever be a bad thing. People talk about getting in to trouble with git pull --rebase where you can end up with a branch that other people can't pull from. But I don't get how that's possible since all you're doing is replaying your local, not-yet-public, commits on top of the branch you pulled from. So, what's the problem there?

  • Jquery: highlight element on mouseover without hanging or lagging.

    When I had elements highlighted upon mouseover, it would work fine with sites with minimal number of elements. But when the number of elements on a page was very big, the effect would "lag" so to speak. It would take a while for each elements to highlight upon mouseover event. Has someone solved this problem successfully ? I've seen a prototype.js example that does not lag.

  • Linux servers going into Halt when pressing Control-D in putty or exit in the shell

    Since today at noon, there's a number of Linux CentOS servers which are going to Halt whenever i type exit or use Control-D to close the putty window. Did anyone encounter this weird behavior before? I've checked the aliases list on the servers and there is no alias regarding halt command. After the server came online i've checked the history and saw a "logout" command there but nothing which is related to Halt. At first, i thought it happens only from my computer but later i realized that it happens to everyone which types exit, logout or control+d. 2 of these server are our main iptables firewalls and so it's super critical, your assistance is much appreciated.     I Have an N-Pages PDF linked in a my web page. I want to be able to browse the PDF, with next and prev arrows, page numbers, etc etc I want to be able to browse the PDF without using any Flash Plugin. I also want to normalize the browsing behaviour, so i don't want to use the default PDF plugin of the browser. I'm looking for a JS plugin but i don't find interesting solutions.     Well, i´m developing a webpage that contains two tags (program and events), that shows two different contents. When I click the program button(it´s a tag), it´s ok, it´s shows the table on the div´s. But, when I click the events button, again it´s shows the program tag contents, and I want to show the events table content. I´ve read de solution for this question on this site, but not happens, when i change my JS file, the content of both tags disapears. Please, somebody help me!...Thank´s

    I am trying to implement something very similar to Yelp's moving map. See: http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=restaurants&ns=1&find_loc=mountain+view%2C+ca Basically it starts off somewhere in the middle of the page, but if you scroll down far enough that you wouldn't be able to see it, it moves down as well. What is the best way to do this in javascript? My app is in GWT, but I think I will have to use native js to achieve this effect. Thanks, Jean

  • scriptaculous drop down menu not working in IE

    I'm using the dropdown menu from http://www.wappler.eu/swdropdownmenu/ and it works fine in all browsers except IE.. the demo on the website works in IE, and the only thing i've changed is the styling.. mine is at http://www.futureworkinstitute.com/2010/ - at first i thought it might have been a conflict between scriptaculous/prototype/jquery, but even after removing other JS, it still doesnt work.
