I would like to take the following Java String from the bean String statusMsg = "Hello World! <br/><br/><h3>Test</h3>" And output it with the HTML tags not escaped. <s:property escapeHtml="false" value="bean.statusMsg" The result of this property Tag and String, is that the HTML tags are still being escaped, am I missing something? My goal is to eventually build a table of status data and output it on the page is this the wrong way to use the property tag? Thank you in advance for your help.

  How would I execute a shell script from PHP while giving constant/live feedback to the browser? I understand from the system function documentation: The system() call also tries to automatically flush the web server's output buffer after each line of output if PHP is running as a server module. I'm not clear on what they mean by running it as a 'server module'. I attempted to run the script in the cgi-bin, but either I'm doing it wrong, or that's not what they mean. However, that code will not give any output and just keeps waiting in the tun.stdout. When I kill the newtunnel process externally, it flushes all the data to tun.stdout. So it seems that I can't get any data from the tun.stdout while it is still running. Why is that? How can I get the information? Note that the default bufsize for Popen is 0 (unbuffered). I can also specify bufsize=0 but that doesn't change anything.

The thing is that I have no Java/Javascript background at all and I'm pressed for time so I am trying to hack something together from code samples. So far I've been mildly successful. Does it create security vulnerabilities on the computer? How can I block connections to the socket from other computers? What is a good place to read about javascript sockets? My google searches have been pretty fruitless but then maybe I'm not using the right keywords.

• Streaming data to the browser as a file of unknown size

  I have some data which is queried from the database and I'd like to send it to the client as a csv file. The file size varies each time due to the fact that the DB data returned can be of any size. Instead of saving this file to the hard disk, I'd like to send it to the browser at the same time it's being processed into a CSV by my algorithm. Response.Write seems useless. For some reason, the file download dialog is only displayed once my processing is finished. This seems odd as I'm writting all my output to the Response.Output stream. I have downloaded files on the web before where the filesize is not known and the browser just keeps on downloading. Is there any way to achieve this? • Django admin proper urls inside listview

  Hi, My current target is to give users the chance to download CSV files from the admin site of my application. I successfully managed to create an additional column in the model's list view this way: def doc_link(self): return '<a href="files/%s">%s</a>' % (self.output, self.output) doc_link.allow_tags = True This shows the file name and creates the link, but sadly - because it's inside my 'searches' view - it has an URL: my_site/my_app/searches/files/13.csv. This is my problem, I would like to have my files stored in the admin media directory, like this: http://my_site/media/files/13.csv Does somebody know how to give url which points "outer" from the model's directory? Maybe somehow tell Django to use the ADMIN_MEDIA_PREFIX in the link? I'd really appreciate any help, thanks!

• Creating tifs directly from VB.Net.

  The current applications uses .net printdocument to create print jobs which it sends to a standard printer. We use the blackice tif print driver to capture the output and manage it from there. The problem is that some print jobs take 30 seconds to come out of the queue, and blackice will not allow you to change settings on the driver (like output filename) until the job is complete. This means the application has to wait 30 seconds until it can print the next job. Is there a better way? Can I create/print tif images directly from .Net without a 3rd party print driver? Do I risk quality to do this?

I need to get the 2 datasets into a structure in VB .net (e.g. linq, sqldatareader, typed datasets) so that I can code with them, I don't know what tables any of this comes from and there are alot of them Whooopeee!!! I came close using Linq to SQL and IMultipleResults but got frustrated when I had to recode it every time I made a change to the designer file. My feelings are that there must be a simple way to do this, any ideas?

• Can somehow show progress on file upload without using AJAX?

  Let's say that I upload a file using a basic multipart post. The server then receives the request and starts to execute the server side code. Can I somehow in that state start to output the response and after some data is sent start to receive the file? Finally when the file is uploaded I output the rest of the response. If this is possible I can display file upload progress without using ajax? I guess this might depend on what I run server side. But let's assume that I have full network control.

• c++ std::ostringstream vs std::string::append

  In all examples that use some kind of buffering I see they use stream instead of string. How is std::ostringstream and << operator different than using string.append. Which one is faster and which one uses less resourses (memory). One difference I know is that you can output different types into output stream (like integer) rather than the limited types that string::append accepts. Here is an example: std::ostringstream os; os << "Content-Type: " << contentType << ";charset=" << charset << "\r\n"; std::string header = os.str(); vs std::string header("Content-Type: "); header.append(contentType); header.append(";charset="); header.append(charset); header.append("\r\n"); Obviously using stream is shorter, but I think append returns reference to the string so it can be written like this: std::string header("Content-Type: "); header.append(contentType) .append(";charset=") .append(charset) .append("\r\n"); And with output stream you can do: std::string content; ... os << "Content-Length: " << content.length() << "\r\n"; But what about memory usage and speed? Especially when used in a big loop. Update: To be more clear the question is: Which one should I use and why? Is there situations when one is preferred or the other? For performance and memory ... well I think benchmark is the only way since every implementation could be different. Update 2: Well I don't get clear idea what should I use from the answers which means that any of them will do the job, plus vector. Cubbi did nice benchmark with the addition of Dietmar Kühl that the biggest difference is construction of those objects. If you are looking for an answer you should check that too. I'll wait a bit more for other answers (look previous update) and if I don't get one I think I'll accept Tolga's answer because his suggestion to use vector is already done before which means vector should be less resource hungry.

• facebook meta tag description not updating

  3 days ago I updated description within the meta tag of facebook, but change does not reflect when sharing link on facebook. Instead old description still appears. According to Facebook, it scrapes your page every 24 hours to ensure the description (and other share data) are up to date. However, one can manually refresh it by entering the post URL into the Facebook URL Linter I did manually refresh it as well as now waited for 3 days. When i see debugging output from linter, it shows the correct up-to-date description, but old description still shown when sharing a link. How to reproduce: This is our website: https://www.tradeinsports.se/#tis1 (It's in swedish so bear with me please). If you go to above link and click on any of the two available products, and then share on facebook, you can see the difference in description from the one which appears in linter debugging output. Any help would be appreciated.

  Hi I have a C++ console Exe which does some progamming. Now i wanted to write a C# GUI which does some of the programming that the C++ exe does. I was thinking of few approaches, Write the C# GUI with all programming in C++ done from scratch.(I do not want to do this for the amount of rework it entails) Build a C++ dll which does the programming and have it imported in GUI app.(Now here i have a concern. How do i capture the output of the routines in c++ dll and display it in GUI? Should i return the output as string for every routine that the app calls.? Since i dont know managed c++ iam going to build an unmanaged C++ dll. )
