  • SQL select statement with increment

    Currently I'm using a for statement in PHP to get all the months for this SQL statement, but would like to know if I can do it all with SQL. Basically I have to get the average listing price, and the average selling price for each month going back 1 year where the sellingdate = the month. simple with PHP, but that creates 12 database hits.     Say I have this line of code in the view. <?php echo CHtml::activeTextField($model,'start_time'); ?> start_time is a UNIX timestamp. When just displaying it in a view I can apply functions like date() on it. Where should I apply the formatting when I'm displaying it in a form, by using the above line of code? (This case of timestamps/dates might be special, but I'm also interested in how would one go about if it wasn't a date and I just want to work with "value in database" < "different representations of the value in different views.     We want to get a row from a table using Hibernate a la: select max(id) from mytable where date = <date> Then select * from mytable where id = <max_id> We are currently using Hibernate to map mytable to Java domain objects. I know how to load the domain object based on an id. So I could just do #1 using JDBC and then load the domain object using Hibernate the "normal" way. But.. is there a way to do this with one single Hibernate logical query?

    Hi, Having difficulty understanding why my function is being called twice. I'm trying to detect when a radio button is called (intRev_yes), check if a div is empty, slide down another div and then call a custome function which dynamically creates a date field. if(this.id=="intRev_yes"){ if($('div#mainField').is(':empty')){ $('.intRevSections').slideDown('slow',function(){ current=-1; addIrField(); }); } } When I alert out at each stage, after getting to the end (i.e. addIrField()), the script seems to go back to the slideDown() section and recalls addIrField(). I can't understand why, there are no loops. current is used as an index for the date field.

    I am looking for a way of introducing random noise into my scoring function, and I'm at a loss on how to best proceed. Some background: We use Solr for a web application that manages large-ish sets of photos for agencies. One customer has an interesting requirement for scoring: 'quality' field, maintained by editors, from 1 (highest) to 3 (lowest); 'date' field, boosting more recent photos; I would probably use a logarithmic function; However, due to how the stock photo market works, this will likely result in many similar photos appearing together. Their request is to give 'quality' a large boost, but introduce some randomness so that photos will not appear in a strict date order. Any idea? EDITED: a key requirement is to have "stable" query results: if I search twice for "tropical island" I can get a slightly different result set, but if I ask for the first page, then the second, then the first, I'd better get the same results :)

    I'm trying to create a simple Silverlight application that involves parsing a CSV file and displaying the results in a DataGrid. I've configured my application to parse the CSV file to return a List<CSVTransaction> that contains properties with names: Date, Payee, Category, Memo, Inflow, Outflow. The user clicks a button to select a file to parse, at which point I want the DataGrid object to be populated. I'm thinking I want to use data binding, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the data to show up in the grid.     It seems like ASP.NET WebMethods are not "web servicey" enough to work with New-WebServiceProxy. Or maybe it is, and I haven't figured out how to initialize it?   • Passing more than one argument in asp.net button in gridview

    I have a TemplateField column in a gridview with a button inside of it. There is NO key value (surely that was not designed by me) , but in the other hand there aren't redundancies when comparing each single column, because they are events, and there is "starting date" and "ending date" of something that could not happen twice at the same time. I've already figured selecting with these values and all, but I just want the button to pass about five arguments to a given function. I've tested: <asp:Button CommandArgument='<%# Eval("day")%>' ID="Button2" runat="server" Text="Button" /> And it works properly, the day of the clicked row is passed, and could be retrieved through: e.CommandArgument.ToString(); in the GridView_RowCommand handler. How do I pass more than one argument? I've thought about concatenating with a separating character (wouldn't be that bad) but besides not knowing how to do it yet (didn't want to invest in a poor solution) I want a smarter one.

(The most current denoted by the date in the name of the deployment).     Basically I posted a code snippet on a forum asking for help and people pointed out to me that using GoTo statements is very bad programming practise so I'm just wondering, why is it bad?
