  • Error Log states that I have MySQL connect error, yet script runs fine

    Hello All, First, thanks for all the help I've received so far from StackOverflow. I've learned much. Once again, I'm posing a rudimentary question that I've searched on, but cannot find the exact answer to. Here or on PHP.net. It's sort of like what this guy asked, but not exactly: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/288603/mysql-throwing-query-error-yet-finishing-query-just-fine-why So, I saw my errorlog ballooning up when I checked my site directory and opened to notice that a bunch of errors have been recorded since I wrote this new Admin area. I know something is obviously awry with my scripting for the error to be thrown, but the weird thing is, the script actually runs through and pulls all the data I need without breaking. The log contains: PHP Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Access denied for user 'someuser'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/mysite/adminconsole.php on line 15 I don't get that because that very line is where I setup my connection... the exact same way I do it everywhere else on the site with no problem. After that error, I have these thrown at the same time [09-Apr-2010 08:44:18] PHP Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: A link to the server could not be established in /home/mysite/adminconsole.php on line 15 [09-Apr-2010 08:44:18] PHP Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/mysite/adminconsole.php on line 16 From what I read in the other guys thread, the problem is the contents of the query maybe?   • dlopen / dlsym with as little linking as possible

    I have an application which can make use of plugins which are loaded at runtime using dlopen. Each of the plugins defines a function toretrieve the plugin information which is defined using a common structure. Something like that: struct plugin { char *name; char *app_version; int app_verion_id; char *plugin_version; int plugin_version_id; /* ... */ }; struct plugin p = { "sample plugin",APP_VERION,APP_VERSION_ID,"1.2.3",10203 }; struct plugin *get_plugin() { return &p; } This works well and plugins can be loaded. Now i want to build a small tool to read these properties without linking the whole application. For doing that I have some code like this: void *handle; struct plugin *plugin; struct plugin *(get_plugin*)(); handle = dlopen(filename, RTLD_LAZY); if (!handle) { /*...return; ...*/ } get_plugin = dlym(handle, "get_plugin"); if (!get_plugin) { /*...return; ...*/ } plugin = get_plugin(); printf("Plugin: %s\n", plugin->name); This works nice for simple plugins. The issue is that many plugins reference further symbols from the application, which are resolved even though RTLD_LAZY was set. (like global variables from the application which are used to initialize plugin-global things) So the dlopen() call fails with an error like fatal: relocation error: file sample_plugin.so: symbol application_some_symbol: referenced symbol not found. As I just want to have access to the single simple structure I was wondering how I can prevent the linker from doing that much of his work.

  • ASP.NET dynamically reassign controls in the control tree

    Let's say I have a custom control that looks like this <cc:MyControl runat="server" ID="myc" LinkControlID="NewParent" /> and, on the same page: <asp:TextBox runat="server" ID="NewParent" /> What I would like to do is, from MyControl, change NewParent's parent so that it would be part of MyControl's Controls collection. When I try to do this, from OnInit, I get: The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases. Which makes sense, but is there a way around this? I'm OK if NewParent remains the child of the Page as long as from MyControl I can somehow redirect the rendering to MyControl's control. Can this be done? Thanks. EDIT: To clarify here's a mockup of MyControl: public class MyControl : Panel { protected override void OnInit(System.EventArgs e) { base.OnInit(e); if (!String.IsNullOrEmpty(LinkControlID)) { Control link = Parent.FindControl(LinkControlID); if (link != null) { Controls.Add(link); } } } public string LinkControlID { get; set; } } This assumes that MyControl and LinkControlID are placed on the same level in the tree hierarchy, which is OK in my case.

  • Rebinding jQuery qtip tooltip on images in bxcarousel

    I'm using bxcarousel to show a bunch of images. Each image has a tooltip, which I display using qtip.   • ASP.NET - dynamically creating database connection in datasets

    I am currently using datasets for my data access layer. I currently store the connection string in the web.config file. I need the ability to change the connection to another database before any queries are processed. Is there an event that is triggered or a base class that can be modified that intercepts the process of retrieving the connection string from the web.config file? Is there any way to handle multiple database connections using the same code base and also take advantage of the connection pooling? I understand the best method is to get rid of datasets and use custom data objects. Any ideas?

    How do I update different columns and rows across a table? I want to do something similiar to replace a string in SQL server I want to do this but the value exists in multiple columns of the same type. The values are foreign keys varchars to an employee table. Each column represents a task, so the same employee may be assigned to several tasks in a record and those tasks will vary between records.     I'm dynamically adding a Boolean column to a DataSet. The DataSet's table is the DataSource for a GridView, which AutoGenerates the columns. Issue: The checkboxes for this dynamically generated column are all disabled. How can I enable them? ds.Tables["Transactions"].Columns.Add("Retry", typeof(System.Boolean)); ds.Tables["Transactions"].Columns["Retry"].ReadOnly = false; In other words, how can I control how GridView generates the CheckBoxes for a Boolean field?     I have a question about a site I'm developing. It is a database driven directory site where people can make a profile and list themselves in one or many area codes and in one or many fields of work. When someone is looking for a person to hire, they enter one or more area codes to look in (or select them with checkboxes) and when the form submits, it saves these as a cookie so the site remembers what location you were searching in. You then narrow down your search by category and field (which are links) and get a listing of all the profiles that match your search. What I am concerned about is this: because a search engine can't type in or select area codes to search in, how is it going to find and index any of the profile pages? It doesn't allow the user to search for people without first selecting an area code, because there's no practical purpose to do so. There would also be no practical purpose from a user experience/usability standpoint of simply having a list of each area code as a link to the categories page, but as far as I know, isn't that the only way for search engines to see every person? How does a site like Facebook accomplish this? There isn't some sort of master directory with a link to ever single Facebook user's profile page, and yet they're often the #1 search result for a person's name.

  • Building a python module and linking it against a MacOSX framework

    I'm trying to build a Python extension on MacOSX 10.6 and to link it against several frameworks (i386 only). I made a setup.py file, using distutils and the Extension object. I order to link against my frameworks, my LDFLAGS env var should look like : LDFLAGS = -lc -arch i386 -framework fwk1 -framework fwk2 As I did not find any 'framework' keyword in the Extension module documentation, I used the extra_link_args keyword instead. Extension('test', define_macros = [('MAJOR_VERSION', '1'), ,('MINOR_VERSION', '0')], include_dirs = ['/usr/local/include', 'include/', 'include/vitale'], extra_link_args = ['-arch i386', '-framework fwk1', '-framework fwk2'], sources = "testmodule.cpp", language = 'c++' ) Everything is compiling and linking fine. If I remove the -framework line from the extra_link_args, my linker fails, as expected. Here is the last two lines produced by a python setup.py build : /usr/bin/g++-4.2 -arch x86_64 -arch i386 -isysroot / -L/opt/local/lib -arch x86_64 -arch i386 -bundle -undefined dynamic_lookup build/temp.macosx-10.6-intel-2.6/testmodule.o -o build/lib.macosx-10.6-intel-2.6/test.so -arch i386 -framework sgdosx -framework srtosx -framework ssvosx -framework stsosx Unfortunately, the .so that I just produced is unable to find several symbols provided by this framework. I tried to check the linked framework with otool. None of them is appearing. $ otool -L test.so test.so: /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib (compatibility version 7.0.0, current version 7.9.0) /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 125.0.1) There is the output of otool run on a test binary, made with g++ and ldd using the LDFLAGS described at the top of my post. On this example, the -framework did work. $ otool -L vitaosx vitaosx: /Library/Frameworks/sgdosx.framework/Versions/A/sgdosx (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 1.0.0) /Library/Frameworks/ssvosx.framework/Versions/A/ssvosx (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 1.0.0) /usr/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib (compatibility version 7.0.0, current version 7.9.0) /usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib (compatibility version 1.0.0, current version 125.0.1) May this issue be linked to the "-undefined dynamic_lookup" flag on the linking step ? I get a generic List of objects from my Business Layer (retrieved from the database), and for each object, I want to add a Label, and a TextBox to the WPF UserControl and set the Position and widths to make look nice, and hopefully take advantage of the WPF Validation capabilities. This is something that would be easy in Windows Forms programming but I'm new to WPF.     Hello, I have written a script which fetches a distribution, given the URL. After downloading the distribution, it compares the md5 hashes to verify that the file has been downloaded properly. Also, once the package is downloaded this is what is done: def install_package(package_name): if package_name.endswith('.tar'): import tarfile tarfile.open('/tmp/' + package_name) tarfile.extract('/tmp') import shlex import subprocess installation_cmd = 'python %ssetup.py install' %('/tmp/'+package_name) subprocess.Popen(shlex.split(installation_cmd) As there are a number of imports for the install_package method, i wonder if there is a better way to do this. I`d love to have some constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement. Also, I have only implemented the install_package method for .tar files; would there be a better manner by which I could install .tar.gz and .zip files too without having to write seperate methods for each of these?

    Hello all, I have some custom control inside of which i should create radiobuttons or checkboxes. The count of child controls is available only at runtime (it loads some file from which it gets this count). So i need to create variable number of controls. Which collection i should use for this purpose? Solution 1: simply use std::vector (or CArray) - not suitable because i want use MFC (CButton). Of course i can Attach() and later Detach() handle to window each time i need this window, but it will give big overhead. Solution 2: use std::vector or CArray or CList or... In this case i take care about making 'new' and appropriate 'delete' when control is unneeded. I am forgetful :) MFC handle map contains pointer to CButton and i can't use simple CArray, because it will move my objects each time when his size will grow. ... and the question is: Which collection i should use for containing variable count of MFC control classes?
