  • Dismissing a modal view in horizontal orientation?

    I have a modal view that is presented and dismissed fine when my device is in vertical orientation. I have problems when my modal view is presented in the vertical orientation, but dismissed in horizontal orientation. The entire app switches back to vertical orientation automatically. How can I ensure that if I am in horizontal orientation, the view should dismiss properly?

    I am using inline assembly for iphone, I working for device debug mode. The instruction is as follows: __asm__("smlatb %0, %1, %2 ,%3 \n\t": "=r"(Temp): "r"(treg5) : "r"(fac5) : "r"(Temp) ); And I am getting an errors: error : expected ')' before tokedn '(' error: unknown register name 'r' in 'asm' I am using X-code 3.0 and gcc 4.0. Any ideas?

  • NSSet to NSData, then back out again, for GameKit?

    Hi guys, I'm trying to do some image edit syncing between two of the same app running on different iPhones. I would like to send an NSSet * from one device to another (which I imagine involves encapsulating in NSData) then decrypting this back to an NSSet, then using it in a touchesMoved type of function. Is this feasible, or should I work on syncing the UIImages instead? I worry that UIImage syncing would have too much latency for realtime interaction. Thanks for your help!

    I have a chance to upgrade a legacy suite of applications currently using .net 1.1 to the newest .net framework. It uses OpenNETCF 1.4 to communicate with the mobile device. Is it worthwhile to upgrade from opennetCF ver 1.4 to ver 2.3 as well? Should I be expecting significant roadblocks/issues while doing so OR if anyone has already done the upgrade, is it painless and beneficial?   • Deploy application to iPhone Simulator

    Hi, I am looking for a way to deploy my application to another users simulator. To be blunt the person needs to show the application on the simulator and is not capable of compiling the source code and I don't have the time to produce the instructions. What I want to do is provide them with the .app (or another) file and have them install it in the simulator just like they can do with any real iPhone Device. Does anyone know how I can do this?

AFAIK, you wouldn't normally be using that class within the context of an XNA game on Windows Phone 7.

It got me thinking about how the iPad is going to be classified, as a mobile platform or a desktop platform, or is it going to spark a new category. Since it runs iPhone OS, it could be considered a mobile device, but I have a hard time with that because of the screen size. What should iPad be classified as: Mobile, Desktop, or Other (Try to come up with a good name for Other)?

  • iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 4 missing arm architecture

    Ever since I upgraded to iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 4, when I try to compile for device I get a warning for most of my libraries (libxml2.dylib, libobjc.A.dylib etc.) saying that it is missing the required architecture arm in file. Checking the libraries with lipo, I see that they all have arm5-7. Surely someone else had to of run into this.

In my mind doing this just add's to the complexity and should not be done, it should be fixed or fluid using strictly css and no server-side languages to generate layouts based on the device size..
