I have json file with above format with two fileds,one paging and one is Data array.
I able to retrieve values of paging,but i am not able to retrieve the values of data array with .each function of jquery.
Any suggestions or inputs really appreciated.
What does jQuery do differently when you specify the datatype as html as opposed to text. I haven't seen a difference but there must be some subtleties I'm missing. If I wish to return a portion of an html page as a string does it matter which I use?
I have a aspx page (details page) that needs to be loaded in a modal window on a click of a button. I have buttons in the aspx page that calls server side functionality. So, this is similar to an IFrame way (except that it's now in a modal window)
Is there a JQuery way of doing this?
Hi
I have a comma separated string. I split that string and assigned it to elements var.
How can I loop that elements var?
$(document).ready(function(){
var element = $('#imageIds').val().split(",");
// how to loop this elements using jquery
});
How can I get the selected value of a dropdown box using jQuery?
I tried using
var value = $('#dropDownId').val(); and
var value = $('select#dropDownId option:selected').val();
but both returns an empty string.
I know this exists out there, somewhere but I haven't found it in a few hours of searching. I simply have to load a clients external page into an IFRAME, but I want to use jquery ui to present the loading image while it's grabbing the external data.
Simple yes, but I've seen pieces of this not the whole thing.
hi,
I'm using Drupal for a website and I can only use jQuery 1.2.7 (not the most recent versions).
I want to fade in / fade out a div element and I'm using mouseover / mouseout functions.
However, this element contains some children and when I move the mouse over it, the mouseout function is triggered, because I'm moving over one of its children.
Since I don't have mouseleave function, how can I solve this issue ?
thanks
I am using a Jquery dialog for both viewing a record and editing a record. When in edit mode the user can change the date using the datepicker. In viewmode I need to hide the datepicker icon and only show the date. Is there a way to toggle the datepicker icon on and off as needed?
I am using jquery to find a first element having a class "error" applied to it using the below code
$('#mainDiv input.error:eq(0)')
But the above one working only for input elements only.
How to make this one to work for both input and select elements?
I have a search form with inputs and selects, and when any input/select is changed i run some js and then make an ajax query with jquery. I want to stop the user from making further changes to the form while the request is in progress, as at the moment they can initiate several remote searches at once, effectively causing a race between the different searches.
It seems like the best solution to this is to prevent the user from interacting with the form while waiting for the request to come back. At the moment i'm doing this in the dumbest way possible by hiding the form before making the ajax query and then showing it again on success/error. This solves the problem but looks horrible and isn't really acceptable. Is there another, better way to prevent interaction with the form? To make things more complicated, to allow nice-looking selects, the user actually interacts with spans which have js hooked up to them to tie them to the actual, hidden, selects. So, even though the spans aren't inputs, they are contained in the form and represent the actual interactive elements of the form.
Grateful for any advice - max. Here's what i'm doing now:
function submitQuestionSearchForm(){
//bunch of irrelevant stuff
var questionSearchForm = jQuery("#searchForm");
questionSearchForm.addClass("searching");
jQuery.ajax({
async: true,
data: jQuery.param(questionSearchForm.serializeArray()),
dataType: 'script',
type: 'get',
url: "/questions",
success: function(msg){
//more irrelevant stuff
questionSearchForm.removeClass("searching");
},
error: function(msg){
questionSearchForm.removeClass("searching");
}
});
return true;
}
How do I parse this json with jQuery?

Hi,
I am using jquery treeview with the control option to expand and collapse the branches. I would like to hide this if there is no branches which expand / collapse (i.e. no plus signs). Does anyone know of a way of doing this?
Thanks
I'm sending an ajax request that will either give me an error or a userID
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<error>1000</error>
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<userID>8</userID>
how can I find out if the root element is error or userID using jquery or just javascript in general. Using the find method doesn't appear to work if what you're trying to access is the root element
In IE, The selector for multiple inputs is not working whereas in firefox it is.
Below is the html.
<td><label for="contactInfo.shippingAddress.streetAddress1" class="mandatoryText">Address Line 1<em class="reqdfields"></td>
City*
State
Zip / Postal Code
Country
and below is jquery used -
$("*[id^='contactInfo\\.shippingAddress']").val("");
Any thoughts as to where the problem might be..

I would like to select the start and end selector for the prevUntil() or nextUntil() jQuery selector methods. If i implement these methods now, it grabs everything between the two selectors given.
i.e. $('p').prevUntil('h1') will not include the p and h1 element, only those between them. How could I also select the p and h1 elements as well as though between?
Thanks!
In Javascript, I have a variable that is set to a block of text from a WYSIWYG editor.

But I want it to search in the variable I have, lets call if lookHere
Is this possible?
I need to check the checked property of a checkbox and perform an action based on the checked property using jQuery.
For example, if the age checkbox is checked, then I need to show a textbox to enter age, else hide the textbox.
But the following code returns false by default:
if($('#isAgeSelected').attr('checked')) {
$("#txtAge").show();
} else {
$("#txtAge").hide();
}
How do I successfully query the checked property?

hello, i am trying to get the headers of an ajax request i made through jquery
$.get(url,
function(response, textStatus, headers ) {
console.log("Response: %o", response);
console.log("TextStatus: %o", textStatus);
console.log("Request: %o", headers);
}
);
this does not seem to be working however:
the response and textstatus are printing, but the "headers" object seems to be undefined
i simply want to check if it is what i expect (content type='excel', etc) or if the response type is html, i can assume the page i was calling is an error
