  • Dismissing pickers and keyboards invoked by a UIWebView

    - by Dev Kanchen
I am implementing an in-app browser using UIWebView, that shows an 'action' button up-top that - when tapped - scales the UIWebView and allows the user to perform some other actions. If, however, at the point of tapping this 'action' button, the user were entering some text on the webview, or using a picker to select an option from a drop-down list, then the webview gets scaled without dismissing the keyboard/picker. Apart from being ugly, this also obscures my main view and controls. So is there a way to make a UIWebView dismiss all associated input controls, such as keyboards/pickers, when asked to? I tried using [myWebView resignFirstResponder] but that didn't work. Any ideas? Thanks.

  • UnitTest ExpectedException with multiple Exceptions

    - by masterchris_99
    I want one TestMethod for multiple exceptions. The Problem ist that the Testmethod stops after the first thrown exception. I know that I can do something like that: try { sAbc.ToInteger(); Assert.Fail(); // If it gets to this line, no exception was thrown } catch (ArgumentException) { } But I want to use the following code-base: [TestMethod, ExpectedException(typeof(ArgumentException), "...")] public void StringToIntException() { sAbc.ToInteger(); // throws an exception and stops here sDecimal.ToInteger(); // throws theoretically a exception too... } And I don't want to create one testmethod for each possible exception like that: [TestMethod, ExpectedException(typeof(ArgumentException), "...")] public void StringToIntException() { sAbc.ToInteger(); } [TestMethod, ExpectedException(typeof(ArgumentException), "...")] public void StringToIntException() { sDecimal.ToInteger(); }

  • How to generate makefile targets from variables?

    - by Ketil
I currently have a makefile to process some data. The makefile gets the inputs to the data processing by sourcing a CONFIG file, which defines the input data in a variable. Currently, I symlink the input files to a local directory, i.e. the makefile contains: tmp/%.txt: tmp ln -fs $(shell echo $(INPUTS) | tr ' ' '\n' | grep $(patsubst tmp/%,%,$@)) $@ This is not terribly elegant, but appears to work. Is there a better way? Basically, given INPUTS = /foo/bar.txt /zot/snarf.txt I would like to be able to have e.g. %.out: %.txt some command As well as targets to merge results depending on all $(INPUT) files. Also, apart from the kludgosity, the makefile doesn't work correctly with -j, something that is crucial for the analysis to complete in reasonable time. I guess that's a bug in GNU make, but any hints welcome.

  • Function matching in Qt

    - by Alexander
Hello, I have some trouble with Qt. I have a class 'Core' class Core { public: static QString get_file_content(QString filename); static void setMainwindow(MainWindow *w); private: static MainWindow *main_window; }; and class 'MainWindow' in namespace Ui: namespace Ui { class MainWindow; } class MainWindow : public QMainWindow { Q_OBJECT public: MainWindow(QWidget *parent = 0); ~MainWindow(); private: Ui::MainWindow *ui; }; In MainWindow constructor I make MainWindow::MainWindow(QWidget *parent) : QMainWindow(parent), ui(new Ui::MainWindow) { ui->setupUi(this); Core::setMainwindow(this); } and gets error mainwindow.cpp:8: error: no matching function for call to 'Core::setMainwindow(MainWindow* const)' Of cource, i include core.h with declaration of 'Core' class. That's occurs only on setMainwindow method. So the questions is - why Core class method setMainwindow() is invisible in MainWindow class?

  • declarative authorization and has_and_belongs_to_many

    - by Michael Balsiger
Hi, I have a little problem with declarative-authorization. I have a User and Role Model with a has_and_belongs_to_many association. I've created a Role named :moderator in my authorization_rules.rb Is it possible that a User with the Role Moderator only gets the Users that have the Moderator Role assigned to it?? -- User.with_permissions_to(:index) I thought it would be possible like that: role :moderator do has_permission_on :users, :to => :index do if_attribute :roles => contains { ????? } end end I also created a named_scope in my User Model because I thought it would help... class User has_and_belongs_to_many :roles named_scope :by_role, lambda { |role| { :include => :roles, :conditions => {"roles.name" => role} } } end Does anyone knows if it's possible to do this with declarative_authorization? Thanks for your help!

  • Magento Installation stuck at configuration

    - by itsandy
Hi Everyone, I am not sure what is going wrong when I am trying to install magento to my local ubuntu machine. I did all the steps mentionsed in the magento wiki. Everything goes well until I reach the point where I am here which is the magento config page. When I try and continue after entering the necessary details like host, database name and user name and submit it comes back to the same page. I checked for everything like db in my phomyadmin panel and it still gets stuck there. What is the possible reason for that. Thanks

  • 0xDEADBEEF equivalent for 64-bit development?

    - by Peter Mortensen
For C++ development for 32-bit systems (be it Linux, Mac OS or Windows, PowerPC or x86) I have initialised pointers that would otherwise be undefined (e.g. they can not immediately get a proper value) like so: int *pInt = reinterpret_cast<int *>(0xDEADBEEF); (To save typing and being DRY the right-hand side would normally be in a constant, e.g. BAD_PTR.) If pInt is dereferenced before it gets a proper value then it will crash immediately on most systems (instead of crashing much later when some memory is overwritten or going into a very long loop). Of course the behavior is dependent on the underlying hardware (getting a 4 byte integer from the odd address 0xDEADBEEF from a user process may be perfectly valid), but the crashing has been 100% reliable for all the systems I have developed for so far (Mac OS 68xxx, Mac OS PowerPC, Linux Redhat Pentium, Windows GUI Pentium, Windows console Pentium). For instance on PowerPC it is illegal (bus fault) to fetch a 4 byte integer from an odd address. What is a good value for this on 64-bit systems?

  • Problems wih minSdkVersion 1.5

    - by Tebam
Hello, we have a problem related to the manifest file and the property "android:minSdkVersion". The issue is: If our platform is 2.0 and we use the property "android:minSdkVersion=3" (3 = sdk 1.5) the graphics get corrupted (In details, the application's resolution get reduced to a 2/3 part of the original size, this is, when the resolution should be 480x720, it becomes in a 320x480). This is happening on the Android emulator, and on the devices Droid/Milestone (Which are platforms 2.0). When we switch the property to "android:minSdkVersion=4" (4 = sdk 1.6) the problem gets solved, but when we want to put that version on platform 1.5, Android doesn't allow us to install it. It would help us to know any conflict regarding graphics within the 2.0 sdk, or any known problem around the "android:minSdkVersion" in the manifest. Thanks!

  • Put stored procedure result set into a table-- any shortcuts besides INSERT INTO...EXEC?

    - by larryq
Hi everyone, I'm creating a temp table that's the result of a stored procedure's result set. Right now I'm using the create table statement, followed by insert into....exec. It gets the job done but I was curious if there are other ways of going about this? I wish it were possible to run a select into, with the stored procedure's result set serving the role of the select statement, so that I wouldn't have to write a create statement beforehand (so that if the stored proc's columns change, there wouldn't be any modifications needed.) If there are other ways to go about this that might fit my needs better I'd love to hear about them. Thanks very much.

  • How to make scrolling through images as fast as Apple's Photos app

    - by clozach
The Goal — On an iPhone, to browse through several hundred locally-stored jpgs using a UIScrollView. The Problem — Like many others before me, I've tried implementing a scroll view based on Apple's Page Control sample code and found it lacking. The biggest issue I'm currently up against is that the sample code's architecture doesn't seem to scale. With just a few images loaded from disk, everything's fine. Once the number of images gets into the dozens, though, scrolling suffers terribly: the scrollview stutters mid-scroll with each new swipe. The only code I've toyed with that comes even close to being reasonably responsive is Three20, but even there the performance doesn't hold a candle to Photos. For now, I'm just using Three20, but a faster, custom solution would definitely be preferable.

  • ASP.NET MVC Session usage

    - by Ben
Currently I am using ViewData or TempData for object persistance in my ASP.NET MVC application. However in a few cases where I am storing objects into ViewData through my base controller class, I am hitting the database on every request (when ViewData["whatever"] == null). It would be good to persist these into something with a longer lifespan, namely session. Similarly in an order processing pipeline, I don't want things like Order to be saved to the database on creation. I would rather populate the object in memory and then when the order gets to a certain state, save it. So it would seem that session is the best place for this? Or would you recommend that in the case of order, to retrieve the order from the database on each request, rather than using session? Thoughts, suggestions appreciated. Thanks Ben

  • Web service can't open named pipe - access denied

    - by Patrick
Hi All, I've got a C++ service which provides a named pipe to clients with a NULL SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES as follows: hPipe = CreateNamedPipe( lpszPipename, PIPE_ACCESS_DUPLEX | FILE_FLAG_OVERLAPPED, PIPE_TYPE_BYTE | PIPE_READMODE_BYTE | PIPE_WAIT, PIPE_UNLIMITED_INSTANCES, BUFSIZE, BUFSIZE, 0, NULL); There is a dll which uses this pipe to get services. There is a c# GUI which uses the dll and works fine. There is a .net web site which also uses this dll (the exact same one on the same PC) but always gets permission denied when it tries to open the pipe. Any one know why this might happen and how to fix it? Also does anyone know of a good tutorial on SECURITY_ATTRIBUTES because I haven't understood the msdn info yet. Thanks, Patrick

  • Remove innerHTML from div

    - by coffeeaddict
    I'm trying to clear the div's innerHTML before repopulating it. I tried removeData() but once that's called, when I try to add the data, I get nothing from the next line after remove whereas if I remove the removeData() it's fine again. I just want to clear out any previous content in that div before I re-populate it. divToUpdate.removeData(); //clean out any existing innerHTML div content first divToUpdate.html(data); It looks like it never gets to my divToUpdate.html(data) for some reason after it calls that removeData();

  • SVN hook script conflict

    - by user297303
I am trying to write a pre-commit hook script that will alter a specific svn-property of a folder/file. The script looks fairly similar to the one that is documented in the svn book. I figured out how to set/change the property of a node and when executing the binding function svn.fs.commit_txn the property of the node actually gets set. But at the moment tortoise always gives me a conflict on the folder I am altering the property. I wrote my script with Python but am new python and hook scripts. Hope someone can give me a clue why I am getting this conflict..

  • Please advise on handling the existing geek

    - by ranja
Quick Story: I started a new job where everyone funneled their questions to 'the geek'. Being an experienced developer, I can do most of my assignments without consultation with the geek - thinks such as how to select the top 10 rows in a table. Question: Is there a preferred way of handling these cases without offending the existing geek while ensuring the best solution gets implemented? My issue is the the existing geek is very young and makes a lot of mistakes, but still sounds authoritative because the other coders are just out of school and don't know better.

  • ForceContext Queries method twice?

    - by azz0r
Hello, I'm doing a per minute script, to output the xml that a server will read, I am used forceContext. <?php class My_Controller_Action_Helper_ForceContext extends Zend_Controller_Action_Helper_ContextSwitch { public function initContext($format = null) { $request = $this->getRequest(); $action = $request->getActionName(); $context = $this->getActionContexts($action); //check if this is the only context if(count($context) === 1) { $format = $context[0]; } return parent::initContext($format); } } class Video_PerMinuteController extends Zend_Controller_Action { function init() { $contextSwitch = $this->_helper->getHelper('ForceContext'); $contextSwitch->addActionContext('transaction', 'xml')->initContext(); In my method, it gets the current minute count, adds 1, then saves. So I can clearly see when its accessed more than once in a minute. If I comment out the second contextSwitch line, it only goes up 1, if Its not, it displays the xml page but adds 2 minutes (being called twice somehow). Any ideas?

  • Grails Remote Function and Ajax

    - by WaZ
I am trying to list addresses and onChange event I send the address ID and return a list of users. <g:select name="AddressID" from="${address}" optionKey="id" optionValue="address" onchange="${ remoteFunction(action:'testMe', params:'\'id=\' + this.value' ,update:'show' )}"> </g:select> I call this div "show". <div id="show"> <g:each in="${users}" status="i" var="C"> <h3>${C}</h3> </g:each> </div> However, when I click the item on the list box I get the following error: description The requested resource (/MyTest/WEB-INF/grails-app/views/test/testMe.jsp) is not available. My understanding of an update attribute inside a remoteFunction is that it is the name of the div which gets refreshed after the remoteFunction call is compeleted. Thanks.

  • Run shell script using fabric and piping script text to shell's stdin

    - by Peter Lyons
Is there a way to execute a multi-line shell script by piping it to the remote shell's standard input in fabric? Or must I always write it to the remote filesystem, then run it, then delete it? I like sending to stdin as it avoids the temporary file. If there's no fabric API (and it seems like there is not based on my research), presumably I can just use the ssh module directly. Basically I wish fabric.api.run was not limited to a 1-line command that gets passed to the shell as a command line argument, but instead would take a full multi-line script and write it to the remote shell's standard input.

  • Real-time aggregation of files from multiple machines to one

    - by dmitry-kay
I need a tool which gets a list of machine names and file wildcards. Then it connects to all these machines (SSH) and begins to monitor changes (appendings to the end) in each file matched by wildcards. New lines in each such file are saved to the local machine to the file with the same name. (This is a task of real-time log files collecting.) I could use ssh + tail -f, of course, but it is not very robust: if a monitoring process dies and then restarts, some data from remote files may be lost (because tail -f does not save the position at which it is finished before). I may write this tool manually, but before - I'd like to know if such tool already exists or not.

  • PHP: Strange behaviour while calling custom php functions

    - by baltusaj
    I am facing a strange behavior while coding in PHP with Flex. Let me explain the situation: I have two funcions lets say: populateTable() //puts some data in a table made with flex createXML() //creates an xml file which is used by Fusion Charts to create a chart Now, if i call populateTable() alone, the table gets populated with data but if i call it with createXML(), the table doesn't get populated but createXML() does it's work i.e. creates an xml file. Even if i run following code, only xml file gets generated but table remains empty whereas i called populateTable() before createXML(). Any idea what may be going wrong? MXML Part <mx:HTTPService id="userRequest" url="request.php" method="POST" resultFormat="e4x"> <mx:request xmlns=""> <getResult>send</getResult> </mx:request> and <mx:DataGrid id="dgUserRequest" dataProvider="{userRequest.lastResult.user}" x="28.5" y="36" width="525" height="250" > <mx:columns> <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="No." dataField="no" /> <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Name" dataField="name"/> <mx:DataGridColumn headerText="Age" dataField="age"/> </mx:columns> PHP Part <?php //-------------------------------------------------------------------------- function initialize($username,$password,$database) //-------------------------------------------------------------------------- { # Connect to the database $link = mysql_connect("localhost", $username,$password); if (!$link) { die('Could not connected to the database : ' . mysql_error()); } # Select the database $db_selected = mysql_select_db($database, $link); if (!$db_selected) { die ('Could not select the DB : ' . mysql_error()); } // populateTable(); createXML(); # Close database connection } //-------------------------------------------------------------------------- populateTable() //-------------------------------------------------------------------------- { if($_POST['getResult'] == 'send') { $Result = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM session" ); $Return = "<Users>"; $no = 1; while ( $row = mysql_fetch_object( $Result ) ) { $Return .= "<user><no>".$no."</no><name>".$row->name."</name><age>".$row->age."</age><salary>". $row->salary."</salary></session>"; $no=$no+1; $Return .= "</Users>"; mysql_free_result( $Result ); print ($Return); } //-------------------------------------------------------------------------- createXML() //-------------------------------------------------------------------------- { $users=array ( "0"=>array("",0), "1"=>array("Obama",0), "2"=>array("Zardari",0), "3"=>array("Imran Khan",0), "4"=>array("Ahmadenijad",0) ); $selectedUsers=array(1,4); //this means only obama and ahmadenijad are selected and the xml file will contain info related to them only //Extracting salaries of selected users $size=count($users); for($i = 0; $i<$size; $i++) { //initialize temp which will calculate total throughput for each protocol separately $salary = 0; $result = mysql_query("SELECT salary FROM userInfo where name='$users[$selectedUsers[$i]][0]'"); $row = mysql_fetch_array($result)) $salary = $row['salary']; } $users[$selectedUsers[$i]][1]=$salary; } //creating XML string $chartContent = "<chart caption=\"Users Vs Salaries\" formatNumberScale=\"0\" pieSliceDepth=\"30\" startingAngle=\"125\">"; for($i=0;$i<$size;$i++) { $chartContent .= "<set label=\"".$users[$selectedUsers[$i]][0]."\" value=\"".$users[$selectedUsers[$i]][1]."\"/>"; } $chartContent .= "<styles>" .   • Limitation of Attachment size when using SMTP

    - by Gas Gemba
Hi, I wrote a C++ program to send a mail using SMTP. But when I attach any files I notices that a single file's size always is limited to 808 bytes. As an example if I send a text file with 10 KBs, when I download the attachment it has only text worth 808 bytes. If the large file is a zip file, it gets corrupted in unzipping obviously due to CRC failure. I used a MAPI library to send larger files without a problem. Is this a network limitation of SMTP? Can someone please explain why this is happening?? Thank You!!!

How do I get the CSS to work with the session module ?

  • I dont understand how Westpac Payway API and NET works

    - by spirytus
Been googling all day, reading numerous pdf's and still getting confused with the concepts of sending data to Payway system from Westpac (bank in Australia, link text). They offer access via API but also give access via what they call NET. The way I understand is that when client want to pay on my website, in case of NET, client gets to the page (hosted by a bank or hosted by me) where is provided with form to enter credit card info details. Then this form is submitted via normal POST call to Payway's specific https address. It is processed then and browser returns to url I specified as one of the parameters I sent in hidden field. In case of API story is similar, so user receives form, fills in the data and then data is send to my backend (not Payway's). My backend then calls payway API with data provided and once answer received returns confirmation page to the client. Is my understanding right? Please explain as I have a feeling I am missing something basic here.

  • Error in MySQL Workbench Forward Engineer Stored Procedures

    - by colithium
I am using MySQL Workbench (5.1.18 OSS rev 4456) to forward engineer a SQL CREATE script. For every stored procedure, the automatic process outputs something like: DELIMITER // USE DB_Name// DB_Name// DROP procedure IF EXISTS `DB_Name`.`SP_Name` // USE DB_Name// DB_Name// CREATE PROCEDURE `DB_Name`.`SP_Name` (id INT) BEGIN SELECT * FROM Table_Name WHERE Id = id; END// The two lines that are simply the database name followed by the delimiter are errors and are reported as such when running the script. As long as they are ignored, it looks like everything gets created just fine. But why would it add those lines? I am creating the database in the WAMP environment which uses MySQL 5.1.36
