No problem if the IDE makes it easy to work with constructs like String x = "CREATE TABLE TEST ( \n" + "A INTEGER NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY, \n" ... What is the fastest way to paste a multi-line String from the clipboard into Java source using Eclipse (in a way that it automagically creates code like the above).

    Hi everyone, I have recently heard a lot of people argue about using PHP testing features like PHPunit and SimpleTest together with their IDE of choice (Eclipse for me). After googling the subject, I have still a hard time understanding the pros and cons of using these testing frameworks to speed up development.     g++ compiler complains about conversions between related types (from int to enum, from void* to class*, from const char* to unsigned char*, etc.). Compiler handles such convertions as errors and won't compile furthermore. It occurs only when I compile using Dev-C++ IDE, but when I compile the same code (using the compiler which Dev-C++ uses) such errors (even warnings) do not appears. How to mute errors of such types?

    Hi, I'm trying to get Gallio running some existing NUnit tests but they're not showing in Gallio. The assembly loads into Gallio fine and I can run them fine via Resharper within the VS IDE. I created a really simple NUnit test in VS and this also doesn't show so I know it's not something weird in my existing tests. Any ideas?

Open & compile the runtime package specific to the IDE being used (e.g. B305vr2007.dpk for Delphi2007) Start C++Builder2009 - "Open Project..", select "B305vr2009.dpk" and click "open", but nothing happen.     I just installed NetBeans, and want to try it out. Some context tips (popup javadoc stuff) work, but nothing detailed. It says "Javadoc not found...". However, I use Eclipse (my current IDE) and it has no problem showing detailed context tips. Do I HAVE to download the 100+mb zip file to get the javadoc, or can I have Netbeans point to whatever Eclipse is already aware of?

    I've got a cocoa application that reads in a text file. I'd like to display that text in a multi-line label, but I for the life of me can't figure it out. I opened up my .nib file and poped a multi-line label down but after that I'm stuck. I don't have any experience working with XCode or Cocoa, mostly Eclipse, Visual Studio, and pretty much every other IDE except XCode which seems very foreign.

  • Formatting PHP Code within Vim

    I'm currently using Vim as a lightweight IDE. I have NERDTree, bufexplorer, supertab, and ctags plugins which do almost everything I want. Only big thing missing for me is auto code formatting. I'm working with some messy PHP code which has inconsistent indenting and code formatting, ideally I could highlight the code I want formatted (whole files would be fine too) and run a command to tidy it. Does anybody have a nice solution for this working in Vim?

    Hi, I have two servers where I installed SQL Server 2008 Production: RAID 1 on SCSI disks Test: IDE disk When I try to execute a script with about 35.000 inserts, on the test server I need 30 sec and instead on the production server more than 2 min! Does anybody know why such difference? I mean, the DB is configured in the same way and the production server has also a RAID config, a better processor and memory... THANKS!

    A co-worker of mine had downloaded a vb example project a while back to see how to make a call or two, he discovered it today again, and noticed that while sitting in the IDE the time/date is updating automatically when the entire project is not even running. How does this work, we looked around for code but can't find anything giving it away. Any ideas?

PerlCritc is a static source code analyzer that qritiques code and warns about everything from unused variables, to unsafe ways to handle data to almost anything. Is there such a thing for PHP that could (preferably) be run outside of an IDE, so that source code analysis could be automated?
