Can someone please direct me on how to do this type of setup, i.e. I have a Windows Server with ASP.NET pages and would like to pass those credentials using Integrated Windows Authentication to a Linux-based Oracle DB.
I am very new to Hibernate. I have MySQL database and mapped pojos. What should I do next? I know little bit LINQ to SQL from .NET, and it generates me List of mapped objects.
So basically, what are my next steps after creating POJOS if I want to have List of them and do CRUD operations upon them and data will be also saved in DB not only in java objects ?
kthx

I'm in the process of creating an SSIS package on a server (server1) that looks at the data in a sql db on another site (server2) and copies relevant rows across.
The SQL statement required is:
SELECT *
FROM server2.ordersTable
WHERE
OrderID Not In (SELECT OrderID FROM server1.ordersTable
This selects data from server1 which isn't in the table on server2 (based on order id)
I then need to insert the result into a table on server1
How would I approach this? What components do I need etc...?
I have three tables, Customers, Sales and Products.
Sales links a CustomerID with a ProductID and has a SalesPrice.
select Products.Category, AVG(SalePrice) from Sales
inner join Products on Products.ProductID = Sales.ProductID
group by Products.Category
This lets me see the average price for all sales by category. However, I only want to include customers that have more than 3 sales records or more in the DB.
I am not sure the best way, or any way, to go about this. Ideas?
I couldn't figure out how to cleanly do a tag cloud with JPA where each db entity can have many tags.
E.g
Post can have 0 or more Tags
User can have 0 or more Tags
Is there a better way in JPA than having to make all the entities subclass something like Taggable abstract class? Where a a Tag entity would reference many Taggables.
thank you
I am trying to get better information on deadlocks that are occurring in my DB. After reading this article, it's still unclear to me whether I should be using trace flag 1204, 1222 or both.
is there a way to change the order data from a DB are read ? you know , the default order is that they are read from the first data inserted to the latest so is there a way to change it to latest-first?

I have a client supplied file that is loaded in to our SQL Server database. This file contains text based date values i.e. (05102010) and I need to read them from a db column and convert them to a normal date time value = '2010-05-10 00:00:00.000' as part of a clean-up process.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I am using a form to get the hour and minute using post method and then store it to mysql DB.
Such as :
$hour = $_POST['hour'];
$minute = $_POST['minute'];
** There is no need of date, month and year. I just need to store the hour and minute in a column of a table (ex: exam_time)
Column structure: exam_time time NOT NULL
Now how to store these value into database using mktime() function. I tried but it stores 00:00:00, not the one which I am sending via form.
How to make the use of hidden variables as array for consecutive submission of data so that they can be used to display the records list.
I have a form with 4 text fields and a file upload field.. as i submit he form it should get appended to the list which needs to be displayed below the form, such that these values are NOT stored in the DB..
So in this case how can i use the post array to collect the data and display in the list below?
Hi,
I want to integrate the dhtmlxScheduler calender with the codeigniter framework. but i am not sure how to connect with the model instead of the db directly and also, how to manage the interaction between the controller, the model and interface
thanks,
I have a form with multiple fields in it along with a image input field, just below the form i have a list to be displayed on every submit of this form... this has to be done without the use of DB..
I think this can be achieved by using session but its not working with me, as evrytime page gets refreshed and session gets recreated/reset..
Please help me in resolving this issue
I have a daemon (written in C, but I assume it does not really matter) which outputs messages with printf, and can get input and do stuff with this input (again, not really important what, but he sends those messages to a different machine to be saved there in the DB).
My question, how can I make this daemon to be a stream in PHP, so I can hook the input/output of, for example, file_put_contents to this stream.
I would like to create a copy of a database with approximately 40 InnoDB tables and around 1.5GB of data with mysqldump and MySQL 5.1.
What are the best parameters (ie: --single-transaction) that will result in the quickest dump and load of the data?
As well, when loading the data into the second DB, is it quicker to:
1) pipe the results directly to the second MySQL server instance and use the --compress option
or
2) load it from a text file (ie: mysql < my_sql_dump.sql)
What is the common way of dealing with the development.sqlite3 files with VCS (in particular, git)?
If I commit this file to the VCS, will it be merged with another developer's copy?
Or should each developer run the db:migrate task each time a new migration file is created?
hello, I want to save a query only one time in the database, this is my code:
$querystat = mysql_real_escape_string($_GET['q']);
$datetime = time();
if( ($querystat != $_SESSION['prev_search']) OR ( ($datetime - $_SESSION['datetime']) > 60) ) {
$insertquery = "INSERT INTO `query` ( `searchquery` , `datetime`) VALUES ( '$querystat' , '$datetime') ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE searchquery='$querystat';";
mysql_query($insertquery, $db);
}
maybe something with == 0 ?
For example I have:
create table a (i int);
Assume there are 10k rows.
I want to count 0's in the last 20 rows.
Something like:
select count(*) from (select i from a limit 20) where i = 0;
Is that possible to make it more efficient? Like a single SQL statement or something?
PS. DB is SQLite3 if that matters at all...
I'm trying to make restricted DB users for the app I'm working on, and I want to drop the Postgres database user I'm using for experimenting. Is there any way to drop the user without having to revoke all his rights manually first, or revoke all the grants a user has?
Can I separate merged model into source parts? Need to do it for reason of upgrade to new versions my every or not every source part of db. It must work under 10.5, so i cant use inferredMappingModelForSourceModel.
Currently there is discussion as to what are the pros and cons of having a single sql connection architecture.
To elaborate what we are discussing is, at application creation open a sql connection and at application close or error closing the sql connection. And not creating another connection at all, but using just that one to talk with the DB.
We are wondering what the community thinks.
Class.forName("org.sqlite.JDBC");
Connection conn =
DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:sqlite:userdata.db");
Statement stat = conn.createStatement();
ResultSet rs = stat.executeQuery("SELECT * from table WHERE is_query_processed = 0;");
How can I find out if rs is empty?
