  • VS2010 add-in custom menu item in files of Solution Explorer

    - by NewProgrammer
Hey guys, I need to create a custom menu item for Visual Studio 2010 Add-in in C#, but I have had no luck in coming with a solution anytime soon. I am aware that there was a similar post: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2486818/visual-studio-add-in-adding-a-context-menu-item-to-solution-explorer But it did not help, as the blog follows the process through the integration package, and the video is done through VB. I had attempted to convert the VB syntax to the C# syntax, but about half way through the video, the Add-in methods has significantly changed from 2005 to 2010, as some of the methods have removed or changed. Is there any good tutorials on making a custom menu item on the Solution Explorer in the lastest Visual Studio in C#, and is there a good website that could be used as a reference for looking over the VS add-in API? I've used Microsoft's main website, however it is confusing and wordy, which is difficult to understand and find the methods, properties, or commands that I am looking for. Any help would be appreicated, Thanks in advance.

  • Awk to grab colo(u)r codes from CSS files aka School me in Awk

    - by Andrew Bolster
Nice and (hopefully) easy. I am trying to work out how to grab the variable #XXX from a text file (css file) containing strings like hr { margin: 18px 0 17px; border-color: #ccc; } h1 a:hover, h2 a:hover, h3 a:hover { color: #001100; } Which I would like to return as ccc 777 The plan then is to throw this through sort and uniq and the end up with a defining colourscheme for the page. Basically, I can't work out how to go from matching /color:#...[...]/ to just printing out the wildcarded sections.

  • Deployment of SQL compact Edition (SDF files) using Setup project

    - by Emad
Hi, I have a C#.NET desktop application using SQL Compact edition as data store. The application should be used by any user on the machine and all should be seeing the same data ( data should not different per user). I am wondering where should I deploy the SDF file? User's Personal data folder (My Documents) means each user will have a separate database. Deploying on the same folder as the application causes vista to copy the file to \USers\Appdata\local\VirtualStore\ and it seems to make different copies for each user. Where is it best to deploy the SDF file to ensure all users are looking at the same data?

  • Entity Frameworks 4 - Changing the model does not update the T4 self tracking template files

    - by Darren
I am using self tracking entities and have moved the entity classes to another assembly by using 'Add as link' to point to the TT file as mentioned here. Now though, when I update the model (for instance change a property name) the template is not automatically run and so the entity class does not get updated. I can of course manually run the template to get the updates, but it would be easier if it ran automatically in the way it did before I moved the classes. Is there any way to achieve this? Darren.

  • Java properties - .properties files vs xml?

    - by pg-robban
I'm a newbie when it comes to properties, and I read that XML is the preferred way to store these. I noticed however, that writing a regular .properties file in the style of foo=bar fu=baz also works. This would mean a lot less typing (and maybe easier to read and more efficient as well). So what are the benefits of using an XML file?

  • Edit source files with custom maven archetype

    - by Scobal
I have created a customer maven archetype and have it setup with some custom requiredProperties: <requiredProperties> <requiredProperty key="classPrefix" /> </requiredProperties> I can use that property to name a file, like so: __classPrefix__Config.java My question is can I use that property inside the file. I've tried the following two variations but neither work: public class ${classPrefix}Config public class __classPrefix__Config

  • Two Linked CSS Files Not working

    - by Oscar Godson
<head> <title>Water Bureau</title> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" /> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/main.css" type="text/css" media="screen" title="Main CSS"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="custom.css" type="text/css" media="screen" title="Custom Styles"> <script language="JavaScript" src="/shared/js/createWin.js" type="text/javascript"></script> </head> Thats the code, but the "custom.css" isn't working. It doesn't work at all. If we add a @import into main.css OR into the header instead of a it works fine though. Any ideas? We also got rid of the media="screens" on both as well. The CSS inside of it is working fine, it's just when we stack those two, the first one parsed is the only one read by the browser. So if we swap main below custom, custom than works but NONE of main works. and custom just has snippet of CSS, and doesn't override all the CSS in main, just 1 element. I can't figure it out! We have other ed stylesheets in the head (which we took out for trying to fix this) and they worked fine...

  • Parsing SGF files in C#

    - by mafutrct
The text-based Smart Game Format has become the sole file format for exchanging Go game records by now. I stared with disbelieve that there are almost no parsers available. Google yielded a few results in antique Java and Python, but no modern implementations. I am curious if I have to write my own parser. Do you know of a modern implementation in C# or Java? In case there really are no parsers available, how should I implement one? Are there general guidelines or tools (in a C# environment) I should know of? This is an example file: (;GM[1]FF[4]CA[UTF-8]AP[CGoban:3]ST[2] RU[Japanese]SZ[19]KM[6.50] PW[White]PB[Black] ;B[pd] ;W[dc] ;B[dq] ;W[pp] ;B[ce] (;W[ed] ;B[ci] ;W[kc]) (;W[do] ;B[dl] ;W[gp] ;B[eo] ;W[en] ;B[fo]))

  • using paperclip with secure and non-secure files

    - by crankharder
First off, we have this namespaced/sti'd structure for our different types of 'Media' Media< Ar::Base Media::Local < Media Media::Local::Image < Media::Local Media::Local::Csv < Media::Local etc... etc.. This is excellent since a user can have many media, and how we display each piece of media is based on the class name and a co-responding partial. But what if we have some Csv's that need to be secure? That is, they can't reside inside of public. I really hate the idea of branching Media again and doing something like this: Media::Secure < Media Media::Secure::Image < Media::Secure Media::NotSecure < Media Media::NotSecure::Image < Media::NotSecure ...where Secure and NotSecure would have different params passed to has_attached_file. Now there are two classes that represent Image and it makes my view/helper system that much more complicated -- not to mention it feels very obtuse. What I would really like to do is be able to change where certain Paperclip::Attachment objects get saved before they get saved (e.g. anything uploaded through foo_secure_action) -- but I can't seem to make this work. Paperclip::Attachment has an @options hash with :path and :url, but changing those before it is saved doesn't have an effect on where it actually gets set. Even if this is possible, I'm not sure if it would have further consequences... I'm open to alternative ideas for structuring this data, but for the moment I like the idea of using STI for this situation.

  • Translate Java to Python -- signing strings with PEM certificate files

    - by erikcw
I'm trying to translate the follow Java into its Python equivalent. // certificate is contents of https://fps.sandbox.amazonaws.com/certs/090909/PKICert.pem // signature is a string that I need to verify. CertificateFactory factory = CertificateFactory.getInstance("X.509"); X509Certificate x509Certificate = (X509Certificate) factory.generateCertificate(new ByteArrayInputStream(certificate.getBytes())); Signature signatureInstance = Signature.getInstance(signatureAlgorithm); signatureInstance.initVerify(x509Certificate.getPublicKey()); signatureInstance.update(stringToSign.getBytes(UTF_8_Encoding)); return signatureInstance.verify(Base64.decodeBase64(signature.getBytes())); This is for the PKI signature verification used by AWS FPS. http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AmazonFPS/latest/FPSAccountManagementGuide/VerifyingSignature.html Thanks for your help!

  • c# - wmplib - playing 2 mp3 files but can get them in synic

    - by Ciarán
I have 2 windowsMediaPlayer objects setup Both objects have the same mp3 song file but when I play them at the same time they are out of sync by a few seconds. The code I call to play them looks like this sound1.controls.play(); sound2.controls.play(); Is it just because one play method is executed before the other and thus one fast then the other. Is their anyway I could sync them? I have tired messing with the rate of one track to match the other, but not getting it prefect. Thanks

  • Easiest way to open chm files programmatically?

    - by Adrian Grigore
Hi, I have a legacy 32-bit application written in Borland's C++ Builder. I need to show specific pages from within a HtmlHelp file programmatically. Until now I've been doing this via HtmlHelp.ocx, but this does not work on x64 versions of Windows Vista / Windows7 as described in this thread. I can't compile the application as 64-bit executable. Therefore the only workaround I have found so far is to create a 32-bit component implementing a COM object which loads and calls into the 32-bit DLL, and exposes the 32-bit DLL interface as a COM interface. That sounds far too complicated just to display a chml file with a specific topic. There must be something else. But what is it?

  • Large XML files in dataset (outofmemory)

    - by dklein
Hi folks, I am currently trying to load a slightly large xml file into a dataset. The xml file is about 700 MB and every time I try to read the xml it needs plenty of time and after a while it throws an "out of memory" exception. DataSet ds = new DataSet(); ds.ReadXml(pathtofile); The main problem is, that it is necessary for me to use those datasets (I use it to import the data from xml file into a sybase database (foreach table, foreach row, foreach column)) and that I have no scheme file. I already googled a while, but I did only find solutions that won't be usable for me.

  • Automatically tidy up JSP/JSF files

    - by er4z0r
Hi, I am working on a webapplication and I do most of the XHTML stuff in an editor. Every once in a while I froget to close a tag or mess up the nesting (we all get distracted sometimes ;-)). So I commpile, package and run my webapp (using maven mvn clean package jetty:run-war only to notice that displaying the view (where I messed up the jsp) fails with an exception while trying to render. So I wondered: Is there some tool that I can include into my build-cycle that automatically catches and rectifies those careless mistakes?

  • Winrar sfx deletes files too early

    - by Simon Ottenhaus
I'm trying to build a sfx (self extracting archive) using winrar. I'm using VS2008 to build a setup.exe and a myapp.msi. If setup.exe is executed it does some checking an launches myapp.msi I'm using some sfx options to make the extraction quiet and make it extract so some temp folder: ;Der folgende Kommentar enthält SFX-Skriptbefehle Setup=setup.exe TempMode Silent=2 Overwrite=1 It seems winrar deletes the msi right after setup.exe is launched. Setup.exe can't find the msi and crashes. Is there some way to fix this?

  • jPlayer does not play MP3 files

    - by pierre-guillaume-degans
Hello, I tried to set up a playlist with jPlayer, like this demo shows. You can find my code here. I've checked the playList var, everything is okay (it contains all mp3 URLs for each <article> element which represents a track). The swfPath to jPlayer.swf is correct too. So I really don't understand where is the problem ? Any idea ? Thank you. :-) Edit: I found the issue. The Jplayer.swf was not on the same domain as the rest of the code.

Hi I am trying to include a perl script within my shtml file. Unfortunately when I do my script doesnt seem to run but instead it just displays the content of the script.
