  • At what line in the following code should I be commiting my UnitOfWork ?

    - by Pure.Krome
Hi folks, I have the following code which is in a transaction. I'm not sure where/when i should be commiting my unit of work. If someone knows where, can they please explain WHY they have said, where? (i'm trying to understand the pattern through example(s), as opposed to just getting my code to work). Here's what i've got :- using (TransactionScope transactionScope = new TransactionScope(TransactionScopeOption.RequiresNew, new TransactionOptions { IsolationLevel = IsolationLevel.ReadUncommitted })) { _logEntryRepository.InsertOrUpdate(logEntry); //_unitOfWork.Commit(); // Here, commit #1 ? // Now, if this log entry was a NewConnection or an LostConnection, then we need to make sure we update the ConnectedClients. if (logEntry.EventType == EventType.NewConnection) { _connectedClientRepository.Insert(new ConnectedClient { LogEntryId = logEntry.LogEntryId }); //_unitOfWork.Commit(); // Here, commit #2 ? } // A (PB) BanKick does _NOT_ register a lost connection .. so we need to make sure we handle those scenario's as a LostConnection. if (logEntry.EventType == EventType.LostConnection || logEntry.EventType == EventType.BanKick) { _connectedClientRepository.Delete(logEntry.ClientName, logEntry.ClientIpAndPort); //_unitOfWork.Commit(); // Here, commit #3 ? } _unitOfWork.Commit(); // Here, commit #4 ? transactionScope.Complete(); } Cheers :)

  • In an ExpandableListView, how can I show one additional line at the end of the child results?

    - by fiXedd
I have created a custom ExpandableListAdapter and everything works properly. What I'd like to be able to do is in each of the groups add a different type of child to the end. I have tried adding 1 to the getChildrenCount() number and then testing isLastChild in the getChildView() method, but that doesn't seem to work. If a group has three children what I have working looks like this: Group NormalChild NormalChild NormalChild But I'd really like something like this: Group NormalChild NormalChild NormalChild AlternateChild The idea being that the AlternateChild could be a link to more info about the group. Any Ideas? EDIT: ListView has addFooterView() which will allow you to add a footer to a whole ListView... wonder how to add them to the ExpandableListView's children, or if it's even possible

  • The ctags command doesn't recurse saying "it is not a regular file".

    - by indiv
When I run ctags -R *, I get errors saying that all directories are not regular files and it skips them instead of recursively generating tags for them. ctags: skipping arpa: it is not a regular file. ctags: skipping asm: it is not a regular file. ctags: skipping asm-generic: it is not a regular file. ctags: skipping bits: it is not a regular file. ctags: skipping blkid: it is not a regular file. ctags: skipping boost: it is not a regular file. What is the problem?

  • Is WPF a good choice for developing line of business user interfaces?

    - by Randy Minder
We're debating whether our future Windows UI development should be WinForms or WPF. How have some of you made this decision? Most of our applications are LOB applications, and I'm not sure I see a clear and overwhelming benefit to WPF for these types of applications. However, my knowledge of WPF is limited. I'm also a little concerned that WPF will be in vogue for another couple years and then Microsoft will get tired of it and push something else on us. I guess one argument against this is the fact that Visual Studio 2010 is a WPF application. Thanks.

  • In eclipse, how can I create a shortcut for an existing command that has no shortcut binding in the

    - by Visus Zhao
In eclipse, the behavior of Ctrl+F11 is determined by preference config, and you could have either "Run last launch in history" or "Run current resource/editor" option available. But I'd like to have both of them at the same time, with an additional shortcut (e.g. Alt+F11). But eclipse doesn't provide the two commands in "key preference". Can I create a new shortcut that links to the "Run last launched" or "Run current editor"? It'd be even better if i could make a shortcut to show the launch history(the arrow beside the green little run button) Is this possible? could anyone give a quick hint on where to find resources to implement it? P.S.: Maven plugin's "Add dependency" common is another good candidate.

  • How can I set the line style of a specific cell in a QTableView?

    - by Bob Nelson
I am working with a QT GUI. I am implementing a simple hex edit control using a QTableView. My initial idea is to use a table with seventeen columns. Each row of the table will have 16 hex bytes and then an ASCII representation of that data in the seventeenth column. Ideally, I would like to edit/set the style of the seventeenth column to have no lines on the top and bottom of each cell to give the text a free flowing appearance. What is the best way to approach this using the QTableView?

    I am trying to output a document that looks like this (more at http://pastebin.com/dpBAY8Sb): 10.1.1.1 100 <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> 72.12.148.186 94 Canada Hamilton ON 43.250000 -79.833300 0.00 72.68.209.149 24 United States Richmond Hill NY 40.700500 -73.834500 611.32 72.192.33.34 4 United States Rocky Hill CT 41.657800 -72.662700 657.48 I cannot find how to format the output I have to have a floating poing and format the distance between columns. My current code looks something like this. if (defined $longitude){ printf FILE ("%-8s %.6f","",$longitude); }else{ $longitude = "<unknown>"; printf FILE ("%-20s ",$longitude); } The extra "" throws off the whole column and it looks like this (more at http://pastebin.com/kcwHyNwb). 10.1.1.1 100 <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> 72.12.148.186 94 Canada Hamilton ON 43.250000 -79.833300 0.00 72.68.209.149 24 United States Richmond Hill NY 40.700500 -73.834500 571.06

  • how to detect an escape sequence in a string

    - by mix
Given a string named line whose raw version has this value: \rRAWSTRING how can I detect if it has the escape character \r? What I've tried is: if repr(line).startswith('\r'): blah... but it doesn't catch it. I also tried find, such as: if repr(line).find('\r') != -1: blah doesn't work either. What am I missing? thx! EDIT: thanks for all the replies and the corrections re terminolgy and sorry for the confusion. OK, if i do this print repr(line) then what it prints is: '\rSET ENABLE ACK\n' (including the single quotes). i have tried all the suggestions, including: line.startswith(r'\r') line.startswith('\\r') each of which returns False. also tried: line.find(r'\r') line.find('\\r') each of which returns -1

  • Replace text in file with Python

    - by Aaron Hoffman
I'm trying to replace some text in a file with a value. Everything works fine but when I look at the file after its completed there is a new (blank) line after each line in the file. Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening. Here is the code as I have it: import fileinput for line in fileinput.FileInput("testfile.txt",inplace=1): line = line.replace("newhost",host) print line Thank you, Aaron

  • Oracle command hangs when using view for "WHILE x IN..." subquery

    - by Calvin Fisher
I'm working on a web service that fetches data from an oracle data source in chunks and passes it back to an indexing/search tool in XML format. I'm the C#/.NET guy, and am kind of fuzzy on parts of Oracle. Our Oracle team gave us the following script to run, and it works well: SELECT ROWID, [columns] FROM [table] WHERE ROWID IN ( SELECT ROWID FROM ( SELECT ROWID FROM [table] WHERE ROWID > '[previous_batch_last_rowid]' ORDER BY ROWID ) WHERE ROWNUM <= 10000 ) ORDER BY ROWID 10,000 rows is an arbitrary but reasonable chunk size and ROWID is sufficiently unique for our purposes to use as a UID since each indexing run hits only one table at a time. Bracketed values are filled in programmatically by the web service. Now we're going to start adding views to the indexing, each of which will union a few separate tables. Since ROWID would no longer function as a unique identifier, they added a column to the views (VIEW_UNIQUE_ID) that concatenates the ROWIDs from the component tables to construct a UID for each union. But this script does not work, even though it follows the same form as the previous one: SELECT VIEW_UNIQUE_ID, [columns] FROM [view] WHERE VIEW_UNIQUE_ID IN ( SELECT VIEW_UNIQUE_ID FROM ( SELECT VIEW_UNIQUE_ID FROM [view] WHERE ROWID > '[previous_batch_last_view_unique_id]' ORDER BY VIEW_UNIQUE_ID ) WHERE ROWNUM <= 10000 ) ORDER BY VIEW_UNIQUE_ID It hangs indefinitely with no response from the Oracle server. I've waited 20+ minutes and the SQLTools dialog box indicating a running query remains the same, with no progress or updates. I've tested each subquery independently and each works fine and takes a very short amount of time (<= 1 second), so the view itself is sound. But as soon as the inner two SELECT queries are added with "WHERE VIEW_UNIQUE_ID IN...", it hangs. Why doesn't this query work for views? In what important way are they not interchangeable here?

(2) I am unable use the following line of code in my custom function located in my bootstrap.php file: $url = $ajax->link ( 'Delete', array ('controller' => 'events', 'action' => 'delete', 22 ), array ('update' => 'event' ), 'Do you want to delete this event?' ); echo $url; I receive the following error: Notice (8): Undefined variable: ajax [APP\config\bootstrap.php, line 271] Code } function testAjax () { $url = $ajax->link ( 'Delete', array ('controller' => 'events', 'action' => 'delete', 22 ), array ('update' => 'event' ), 'Do you want to delete this event?' ); testAjax - APP\config\bootstrap.php, line 271 include - APP\views\event\queue.ctp, line 19 View::_render() - CORE\cake\libs\view\view.php, line 649 View::render() - CORE\cake\libs\view\view.php, line 372 Controller::render() - CORE\cake\libs\controller\controller.php, line 766 Dispatcher::_invoke() - CORE\cake\dispatcher.php, line 211 Dispatcher::dispatch() - CORE\cake\dispatcher.php, line 181 [main] - APP\webroot\index.php, line 91 However it works as intended if I place that same code in my view: <a onclick=" event.returnValue = false; return false;" id="link1656170149" href="/shout/events/delete/22">Delete</a> Please help :) Thanks in advance!!

  • Save memory in Python. How to iterate over the lines and save them efficiently with a 2million line

    - by skyl
    I have a tab-separated data file with a little over 2 million lines and 19 columns. You can find it, in US.zip: http://download.geonames.org/export/dump/. I started to run the following but with for l in f.readlines(). I understand that just iterating over the file is supposed to be more efficient so I'm posting that below. Still, with this small optimization, I'm using 10% of my memory on the process and have only done about 3% of the records. It looks like, at this pace, it will run out of memory like it did before. Also, the function I have is very slow. Is there anything obvious I can do to speed it up? Would it help to del the objects with each pass of the for loop? def run(): from geonames.models import POI f = file('data/US.txt') for l in f: li = l.split('\t') try: p = POI() p.geonameid = li[0] p.name = li[1] p.asciiname = li[2] p.alternatenames = li[3] p.point = "POINT(%s %s)" % (li[5], li[4]) p.feature_class = li[6] p.feature_code = li[7] p.country_code = li[8] p.ccs2 = li[9] p.admin1_code = li[10] p.admin2_code = li[11] p.admin3_code = li[12] p.admin4_code = li[13] p.population = li[14] p.elevation = li[15] p.gtopo30 = li[16] p.timezone = li[17] p.modification_date = li[18] p.save() except IndexError: pass if __name__ == "__main__": run()

  • EXPORT AS INSERT STATEMENTS: But in SQL Plus the line overrides 2500 characters!

    - by The chicken in the kitchen
Hello, I have to export an Oracle table as INSERT STATEMENTS. But the INSERT STATEMENTS so generated, override 2500 characters. I am obliged to execute them in SQL Plus, so I receive an error message. This is my Oracle table: CREATE TABLE SAMPLE_TABLE ( C01 VARCHAR2 (5 BYTE) NOT NULL, C02 NUMBER (10) NOT NULL, C03 NUMBER (5) NOT NULL, C04 NUMBER (5) NOT NULL, C05 VARCHAR2 (20 BYTE) NOT NULL, c06 VARCHAR2 (200 BYTE) NOT NULL, c07 VARCHAR2 (200 BYTE) NOT NULL, c08 NUMBER (5) NOT NULL, c09 NUMBER (10) NOT NULL, c10 VARCHAR2 (80 BYTE), c11 VARCHAR2 (200 BYTE), c12 VARCHAR2 (200 BYTE), c13 VARCHAR2 (4000 BYTE), c14 VARCHAR2 (1 BYTE) DEFAULT 'N' NOT NULL, c15 CHAR (1 BYTE), c16 CHAR (1 BYTE) ); ASSUMPTIONS: a) I am OBLIGED to export table data as INSERT STATEMENTS; I am allowed to use UPDATE statements, in order to avoid the SQL*Plus error "sp2-0027 input is too long(2499 characters)"; b) I am OBLIGED to use SQL*Plus to execute the script so generated. c) Please assume that every record can contain special characters: CHR(10), CHR(13), and so on; d) I CAN'T use SQL Loader; e) I CAN'T export and then import the table: I can only add the "delta" using INSERT / UPDATE statements through SQL Plus.

  • What's a simple way to web-ify my command-line daemon?

    - by dreeves
Suppose I have a simple daemon type script that I run on my webserver. I run it in a terminal, with gnu screen, so I can keep an eye on it. That works fine (incidentally, I use this trick). But now suppose I'd like to make a web page where I can keep an eye on my script's output. What's the easiest way to do that? Notes: This is mainly for myself and a couple co-hackers so if websockets is the answer and it only works on Chrome or something, that's acceptable. This question is asking something similar: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1964494/how-to-make-all-connected-browsers. But I'm hoping for a simpler, quick-and-dirty solution, and especially a general way to quickly do this for any script I might want to keep an eye on from a browswer.

  • What to use to create bar, line and pie charts with javascript compatible with all major browsers?

    - by marcgg
I used to work with flot but it doesn't support pie charts so I'm forced to change. I just saw JS Charts, but their documentation is very obscure regarding cross browser compatibility (I need it to be IE6+ compliant :). Also this will be for commercial use, so I'd rather have something that I can use free of charge jQuery Google chart looks really nice and is well integrated with rails (the framework I'm using) but I'm not sure how good it is. So what do you guys use? What would you recommend keeping in mind that: It will be for commercial use (I can deal with a license, but I'd rather avoid that) It needs to be javascript (no svg, no flash please) It needs to be compatible with IE6+, FF, Chrome, Opera and Safari It needs to be pretty ^^ If it uses jQuery it's even better
