  • conditional inline div styling (help!)

    I have div that I need to be present on every page, yet at a different length depending on the exact page. So far, I have this: <div class="above <?php if (is_page(12)) echo 'short'; ?>"> //content </div><!-- end above --> How do I go about adding something to the avail of <?php if (is_page(24, 26, 28)) echo 'med'; ?> (on page 12 I need the "short" length, and on pages 24, 26, 28 I need the "med" length of the div) Any help is appreciated. I'm just now diving into php and while I do love the options it makes available, I'm not sure yet how to put it all together.

  • Get back the default browser styling for input fields

    I need to style all the input fields but one. So i have set a rule for all the inputs on the site. For the seachfield i need to use the browser default, so i was thinking i could just inherit all the values i have set for the general input fields. (have tried border: none to) This does not work in FF nor Safari :( The border just gets transparent. http://jsfiddle.net/N5KKH/1/ Any idea how i could get the default browser styling back?   • Measure text size in JavaScript

    I want to measure the size of a text in JavaScript. So far this isn't so difficult because I can simply put a temporary invisible div into the DOM tree and check the offsetWidth and offsetHeight. The problem is, I want to do this BEFORE the DOM is ready. Here is a stub: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> var text = "Hello world"; var fontFamily = "Arial"; var fontSize = 12; var size = measureText(text, fontSize, fontFamily); function measureText(text, fontSize, fontFamily) { // TODO Implement me! } </script> </head> <body> </body> </html> Again: I KNOW how to do it asynchronously when DOM (or body) signals that it is ready. But I want to do it synchronously right in the header as shown in the stub above. Any ideas how I can accomplish this? My current opinion is that this is impossible but maybe someone has a crazy idea.

  • How to make technical training session useful and successful for trainee?

    Are these suggestions good to give for a successful training session? Practice time should be always given immediate after technical training? usually after receiving any technical session about any new thing we do routine work. If we don't do practice just after training, later when we do any work related to that training then we feel we need training again. So if we are getting training today and will not use it for some period of time (15 -30 -60 days) then the training is of no use, as it is at the wrong time. I.e. We will forget many things Any other suggestions which i should give? I'm trainee not trainer. What suggestion should i give to trainer/organizer?

    I'm trying to create a simple thumbnail list, the code is pretty much copied off jqm docs pages. However, when I use the code below the button element of the list isn't anchored to the left of the list item and instead appears centered...Can anyone help me? It's driving me crazy!     I'm having a hard time giving a good description of this, but bear with me: If I have a page structed like this <h2>Chapter 1</h2> <p>Lots of text that has mutiple screen worths of content</p> <h2>Chapter 2</h2> <p>Lots of text...</p> I'd like to have "Chapter 1" absolutely positioned or whatever at the top of the page until the user scrolls down to where "Chapter 2" starts, at which point now "Chapter 2" is displayed at the top of the page. We can add wrapper classes and divs if needed. Solutions that use JQuery would be great.

  • Toggle DIV and SPAN text onclick

    I have been trying to mimic this website http://www.designrattan.co.uk/daybed/apple for a while now. I need to make a page where the customer can click "View 360" and then it changes the DIV to show the product 360 (for which I already have the code for). I also need to make it so that when it is clicked the span text then changes to "Back to Image" I have tried many times and have failed to get the Javascript code and HTML to work well together. My efforts can be seen here: http://designliving.tk/winchester-rattan-garden-round-table-set As you can see it is a complete fail as it doesn't change the DIV it just displays a new one. Also when you click the button it then changes to text instead of a new button. My question that was too long to put into a title is: If everyone needs to use a reset stylesheet 90% of the time, why do browsers need to set default styles?     Hello, I know how to generate rounded corners using images. But please have a look at the link :- http://roundedbox.andreas-kalt.de/ The rounded corners on all four corners are all images, but my question is how are those borders in the middle done? Those green color borders that surround the whole div. The tutorial is given but it is German :(. Also i don't want to use Css3 like -webkit-border-radius etc as they are not yet supported in IE Thanks in advance :)

    I have a table with slanted text in the header row, the only problem is that the text still makes the width of the columns way to large. Is there any way to squish together the table columns so that they are about the width of the select boxes? Or is there a way to place the text there without it in the header and maybe just use a <div> or <p>?   • How do I set font size to 0px in IE6?

    I have an unordered list, I'm trying to hide the text in the list. I can do this 2 ways that i know of: font-color: transparent; font-size: 0px; I prefer the 0px method as its not selectable. This issue is neither way works in IE6. The first way just doesn't work in IE6 at all, the 2nd leave a 1PX high font. Is there a way to hide the text in IE6? This is a visual thing, I know you can read the text by reading the source and that is OK, I just need it to visually not be there.
