  • How to remove the hint in the terminal?

    As a normal user , when I run some command like ps\netstat, the terminal hint me: (Not all processes could be identified, non-owned process info will not be shown, you would have to be root to see it all.) I know could redirect STDERR to /dev/null can remove this hint. But I want to know is there any way to remove it , such as edit some configuration files ?     [Cross-Posting from ServerFault] I am in a development environment, and our test Oracle 9i server has been misbehaving for a few days now. What happens is that we have our JDBC connections disconnecting after a few successful connections. We got this box set up by our IT department and handed over to. It is 'our problem', so options like 'ask you DBA' isn't going to help me. :( Our server is set up with 3 plain databases (one is the main dev db, the other is the 'experimental' dev db). We use the Oracle 10 ojdbc14.jar thin JDBC driver (because of some bug in the version 9 of the driver). We're using Hibernate to talk to the DB. The only thing that I can see that changed is that we now have more users connecting to the server. Instead of one developer, we now have 3. With the Hibernate connection pools, I'm thinking that maybe we're hitting some limit? Anyone has any idea what's going on?   • Can't obtain reference to EKReminder array retrieved from fetchRemindersMatchingPredicate

    When I create an NSPredicate via EKEventStore predicateForRemindersInCalendars; and pass it to EKEventStore fetchRemindersMatchingPredicate:completion:^ I can loop through the reminders array provided by the completion code block, but when I try to store a reference to the reminders array, or create a copy of the array into a local variable or instance variable, both array's remain empty. The reminders array is never copied to them. This is the method I am using, in the method, I create a predicate, pass it to the event store and then loop through all of the reminders logging their title via NSLog. I can see the reminder titles during runtime thanks to NSLog, but the local arrayOfReminders object is empty. I also try to add each reminder into an instance variable of NSMutableArray, but once I leave the completion code block, the instance variable remains empty. Am I missing something here? Can someone please tell me why I can't grab a reference to all of the reminders for use through-out the app?     Hello, I'm trying to write a not so smart factorization program and trying to do it in parallel using TPL. However, after about 15 minutes of running on a core 2 duo machine, I am getting an aggregate exception with an overflow exception inside it. All the entries in the stack trace are part of the .NET framework, the overflow does not come from my code. Any help would be appreciated in figuring out why this happens.   • Cocoa QuickLook initiated by NSTableView Cell

    I have an NSTableView that contains 2 different Columns - one is an NSImageCell that shows a file icon, and the second is a custom subclass of NSTextFieldCell that contains a quick look button on the right of the text. When I click the Quick Look button, the following code is invoked: [[QLPreviewPanel sharedPreviewPanel] makeKeyAndOrderFront:nil]; This does it's job and shows the blank Quick Look panel saying "No Items Selected." After I did a bit of research on the internet, I implemented a custom NSTableView subclass to be the Delegate and Data Source for the Quick Look panel. I get the notification that Quick Look asks if I want to be the delegate, and I respond with return YES. I am trying to display a message, and depending on the type of message keep it displayed( + having a background), or having it fade out by a double animation on the opacity property (+ having a transparent background). The opcacity remains 0, and messages only get restored again when I have a message of kind true,"msg,false. After the animation, the opacity is 0, and where I would expect the second multidatatrigger to set it back to 8, and then have the animation performed by the Datatrigger, it doesnt. What would be the best way to get this working ?

    Does anyone have any clue as to what this might mean? (ClCompile target) -> C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft.Cpp\v4.0\Platforms\Win32\Microsoft.Cpp.Win32.Targets(147,5): error MSB6006: "CL.exe" exited with code -1073741515. It builds fine on my dev box but fails due to this error on our CI box. It's running on .NET 3.5. Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

  • Django site on Nginx+FastCGI goes (504 gateway timeout)

    Sometimes my whole Django based site goes into 504 gateway timeout errors so none page can be displayed. Is it possible to write a shell program and cronjob it run every 5 minutes to detect such errors and restart FastCGI process if needed? I'm currently using command below to restart FastCGI in case it's crashed but it doesn't work for above situation because when 504 gateway errors occur, the processes are still running. ps ax | grep -v grep | grep port=8001 > /dev/null || restart_fcgi.sh

    Hi am running websphere 6.1 on RSA what is the default timezone set on it if i dont set any websphere variable etc(like the TZ variable). Running into this weird issue where my application shows timestamp correctly for User timezone ,when i run it from my dev env but pulls out all timestamps in GMT irrespective of the logged in users timezone in an env which is supposed to have the server run on GMT. So wanted to know what was the default TZ set if you do not configure anything

But there is one exception: If the user requests the page for the first time, like calling "http://www.mysite.com" I want to set the initial language if possible to the one "preferred by the browser". How can I distinguish in an early procesing stage (like global.asax), if the default parameter has been set because of the default value or mentioned explicit through the URL? (I would prefer a solution where the request URL is not getting parsed). Is there a way to dynamically provide a default-value for a paramter? Something like a hook? Or where can I override the default value (good application event?).   • .htpasswd under IIS - does it work?

    I'm trying to password protect a directory on a server that's running IIS. I've put the following in the .htaccess file in that directory - AuthName "Restricted Area" AuthType Basic AuthUserFile /path/.htpasswd AuthGroupFile /dev/null require valid-user I've tried a whole bunch of different paths and although it's asking for a username and password it won't take it. I've tried using the path provided by _SERVER["PATH_TRANSLATED"] but that's no help either. Is this a problem with my path, or does IIS just not support .htpasswd?

    This is a follow-up to #1644748 where I successfully answered my own question, but Quassnoi helped me to realize that it was the wrong question. He gave me a solution that worked for my sample data, but I couldn't plug it back into the parent stored procedure because I fail at SQL 2005 syntax. So here is an attempt to paint the broader picture and ask what I actually need. This is part of a stored procedure that returns a list of items in a bug tracking application I've inherited. There are are over 100 fields and 26 joins so I'm pulling out only the mostly relevant bits. So it is possible for someone to change the value for qa, but leave sponsor alone. What I want to know, based on all of these conditions, is the historyid of the record in the tickets_history_assignment table where the sponsor value was last changed so that I can calculate the value for daysinqueue. If a record is inserted into the history table, and only the qa value has changed, I don't want that record. So simply relying on MAX(historyid) won't work for me.
