• How do you get XML::Pastor to set xsi:type for programmatically generated elements?

  I'm learning how to use Perl as an automation test framework tool for a Java web service and running into trouble generating xml requests from the Pastor generated modules. The problem is that when including a type that extends from the required type for an element, the xsi:type is not included in the generated xml string.   Is there a way to transfer C++ preprocessor definitions into a custom pre-link step procedure call as a command-line parameter or export them into a file any other way? Example: Let's say, I have a c++ project, and in it's Debug configuration I put a preprocessor definition like MAKUMBA_OBA=0x13 Then I add custom pre-link step which executes some javascript like sarahjessicaparker.js /to tomsrhinoplasty $(MAKUMBA_OBA) It would be great, if it just worked, but I never get a third parameter in my js. So the question is: how to pass a preprocessor definition to s script?

• postgres store with composite value type, or a better way of attributing an inverted index

  can't seem to figure out the syntax for populating a hstore with a value of composite type -- note: I do not want to convert a record to a hstore. select hstore('hello => ROW(1,2)'); I know it's something simple; However, google is not my friend today. use case : custom inverted index. The data is modelling an inverted index of lexemes, the composite data types are various probabilities related to the lexemes which I will use to implement document clustering. Does anyone know a better way of doing this ? I'm open to using an external system if it allows attaching attributes to key-posting pairs in the inverted index. I'd use something external if it had solid support for what I am trying to do, I suspect that sticking 3-10k lexemes per tuple and then doing batch processing on them is gonna be nasty as the whole hstore will have to be parsed and converted .

• C# ASP.Net The type or namespace name 'iAnywhere' could not be found

  Morning all, I know that this sounds like a simple referencing problem from the title this is becoming a nightmare! I have a code class that uses the "iAnywhere.Data.AsaClient.dll". This Dll is referenced in the project and in the code class I have added this dll in the Using section. Everything seems fine at build with no errors at all but when I go to run the application it comes up with the following Compilation Error: Compiler Error Message: CS0246: The type or namespace name 'iAnywhere' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) The line that the Error points to this line in the class: using iAnywhere.Data.AsaClient; I have set the dll to copy local and it makes no difference, the Dll is installed on my PC so is in the GAC, I use this Dll with many other C# projects and have no problems. I have scoured Google looking for an answer and haven't found anything that points me to an answer to my problem. Any help would be brilliant!

My question is - how do I mark a failure as a warning?

• Why do I get "could not load type" error with my custom SessionStateProvider

  My associate has created a custom SessionStateProvider for me to use with my ASP.net application. I add the file CustomSessionStateProvider to my VS2008 Web Application Project and put the appropriate reference in the web.config and it works fine. However, my supervisor wants me to set this up as a GAC reference. At my office, we have many DLLs we've created that we use as GAC references across different projects. If I add my CustomSessionStateProvider to the Global Assembly Cache, my pages throw a could not load type CustomASP.CustomSessionStateProvider error. Simple removing the DLL from the GAC makes it work again, but I want to set this up as a GAC reference. What could be causing this problem?

So a General question how do I bind to complex/composite types using Nhibernate?

  I'm trying to create a binary file from a intelHex file. Iside the intelHex file I have data and address to which I should write the data inside the binary file. Looks like there is some random data added to the file and I do not know from where. First time I saw that there is an additional data before the data from the intelHex file. For instance first data line starts with 21, but in binary file I have a number 12 before the 21. I do not know what is wrong here. Hope someone can help me or guide me where I can find some usefull informations about creating binary files in C#

• wrong data type in mysql for grails byte[] property

  Hi, I have an application which is trying to save a photo to the database. I've created a grails domain class with a byte[] property and this was working well when using HSQLDB (the default in grails). However, when I changed the database to MySQL I ended up getting the following error: Data truncation: Data too long for column 'photo' at row 1 I then had a look at the schema and found that the byte[] was being created as a TINYBLOB field, which was causing the error. How can I specify that this property should correspond to a BLOB/LONGBLOB type in the database?

• jQuery.post not working when using data type json

  I have been trying to utilize json in this jQuery.post because I need to return two values from my executed php. The code was working when I was not implementing json. I need to see if a promo code entered is valid for a particular broker. The two variables I need back are the instant message whether or not it's valid (this is displayed to the user) and I need to update a hidden field that will be used later while updating the database. The jQuery.post does not seem to be firing at all, but the code directly above it (the ajax-loader.gif) is working. I did re-write the whole thing at one point using jQuery.ajax, and had issues there too. Granted, I have probably been looking at this too long and have tried to re-write too many times, but any help is greatly appreciated!! I have added some logging to the decode() method of my custom component and I can see that the parameters entered by the user are being posted back with the request, however these parameters are not used to update the data model. Is there any method I need to invoke or interface I need to extend in order to ensure the data model is correctly updated? I am using this test case to address the issue that is appearing in a much more complex component, therefore I can't achieve the same functionality using a facelet composite component. • Java SortedMap to Scala TreeMap

  I'm having trouble converting a java SortedMap into a scala TreeMap. The SortedMap comes from deserialization and needs to be converted into a scala structure before being used. Some background, for the curious, is that the serialized structure is written through XStream and on desializing I register a converter that says anything that can be assigned to SortedMap[Comparable[_],_] should be given to me. So my convert method gets called and is given an Object that I can safely cast because I know it's of type SortedMap[Comparable[_],_]. That's where it gets interesting. • d:DesignData issue, Visual Studio 2010 cant build after adding sample design data with Expression Bl

  Hi, VS 2010 solution and Silverlight project builds fine, then: I open MyView.xaml view in Expression Blend 4 Add sample data from class (I use my class defined in the same project) after I add new sample design data with Expression blend 4, everything looks fine, you see the added sample data in the EB 4 fine, you also see the data in VS 2010 designer too. Close the EB 4, and next VS 2010 build is giving me this errors: Error 7 XAML Namespace http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008 is not resolved. C:\Code\source\...myview.xaml and: Error 12 Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ... TestSampleData.xaml when I open the TestSampleData.xaml I see that namespace for my class used to define sample data is not recognized. However this namespace and the class itself exist in the same project! If I remove the design data from the MyView.xaml: d:DataContext="{d:DesignData /SampleData/TestSampleData.xaml}" it builds fine and the namespace in TestSampleData.xaml is recognized this time?? and then if add: d:DataContext="{d:DesignData /SampleData/TestSampleData.xaml}" I again see in the VS 2010 designer sample data, but the next build fails and again I see studio cant find the namespace in my TestSampleData.xaml containing sample data. That cycle is driving me crazy. Am I missing something here, is it not possible to have your class defining sample design data in the same project you have the MyView.xaml view?? cheers Valko

• SQL Server Clustered Index: (Physical) Data Page Order

  I am struggling understanding what a clustered index in SQL Server 2005 is. I read the MSDN article Clustered Index Structures (among other things) but I am still unsure if I understand it correctly. The (main) question is: what happens if I insert a row (with a "low" key) into a table with a clustered index? The above mentioned MSDN article states: The pages in the data chain and the rows in them are ordered on the value of the clustered index key. And Using Clustered Indexes for example states: For example, if a record is added to the table that is close to the beginning of the sequentially ordered list, any records in the table after that record will need to shift to allow the record to be inserted. Does this mean that if I insert a row with a very "low" key into a table that already contains a gazillion rows literally all rows are physically shifted on disk? I cannot believe that. This would take ages, no? Or is it rather (as I suspect) that there are two scenarios depending on how "full" the first data page is. A) If the page has enough free space to accommodate the record it is placed into the existing data page and data might be (physically) reordered within that page. B) If the page does not have enough free space for the record a new data page would be created (anywhere on the disk!) and "linked" to the front of the leaf level of the B-Tree? This would then mean the "physical order" of the data is restricted to the "page level" (i.e. within a data page) but not to the pages residing on consecutive blocks on the physical hard drive. The data pages are then just linked together in the correct order. Or formulated in an alternative way: if SQL Server needs to read the first N rows of a table that has a clustered index it can read data pages sequentially (following the links) but these pages are not (necessarily) block wise in sequence on disk (so the disk head has to move "randomly"). How close am I? :)

• storing/retrieving data for graph with long continuous stretches

  i have a large 2-dimensional data set which i would like to graph. the graph is displayed in a browser and the data is retrieved via ajax. long stretches of this graph will be continuous - e.g., for x=0 through x=1000, y=9, then for x=1001 through x=1100, y=80, etc. the approach i'm considering is to send (from the server) and store (in the browser) only the points where the data changes. so for the example above, i would say data[0] = 9, then data[1001] = 80. then given x=999 for example, retrieving data[999] would actually look up data[0]. the problem that arises is finding a dictionary-like data structure which behaves like this. the approach i'm considering is to store the data in a traditional dictionary object, then also maintain a sorted array of key for that object. when given x=999, it would look at the mid-point of this array, determine whether the nearest lower key is left or right of that midpoint, then repeat with the correct subsection, etc.. does anyone have thoughts on this problem/approach?

• Dojox Datagrid contains data, but shows up as empty

  I'd really appreciate any help on this. There is this Dojox Datagrid that I'm creating programatically and supplying JSON data. As of now, I'm creating this data within JavaScript itself. (Can't post images since my account is new here) As you may notice, there are 6 rows for 6 pieces of data I have created but the grid is a mess.
