• Displaying UserControls based on the type a TreeView selection is bound to

  I am making an app in WPF in a style similar to Windows Explorer, with a TreeView on the left and a pane on the right. I want the contents of the right pane to change depending on the type of the selected element in the TreeView. For example, say the top level in the Tree View contains objects of class "A", and if you expand the "A" object you'll see a list of "B" objects as children of the "A" object. If the "A" object is selected, I want the right pane to show a user control for "A", and if "B" is selected I want the right pane to show a user control for "B". I've currently got this working by: setting up the TreeView with one HierarchialDataTemplate per type adding all the UserControls to the right pane, but collapsed implementing SelectedItemChanged on the TreeView, and setting the appropriate usercontrol to visible and the others to collapsed. However, I'm sure there's a better/more elegant way to switch out the views based on the type the selection is bound to, perhaps by making more use of data binding... any ideas?

  I am using the jQuery physics plugin for a pet project I am working on. The plugin enables the moving of DOM objects in realistic ways using velocity, gravity, wind etc. However I want to use the plugin to calculate where objects are to be placed inside a canvas element, not DOM object. How do I change the plugin script to work for ANY object with 'top' and 'left' properties rather than only working with DOM objects found with a jQuery selector? The question was --- By traversing each element of linked list just once find if the single linked list is circular at any point. To this I answered that we will store reference of each node while traversing the list in another linked list and for every node in the list being tested we will find if the reference exists in the list I am storing the references. • jquery tabs dissapear when re-clicked

• How to debug CSS/Javascript hover issues

  I often find myself wanting to debug CSS layout issues that involve DOM changes caused by Javascript in reaction to a hover event or different CSS rules applying due to the :hover selector. Normally, I'd use Firebug to inspect the element that's giving me trouble and see what its CSS properties were, and where those properties come from. However, when hovering is involved, it becomes impossible, because as soon as you move your mouse down to the Firebug panel, the elements you're interested in are no longer hovered, the CSS rules that apply are different, and (in the case of JS hovers) the DOM is changed. Is there any way I can "freeze" the state of the DOM and application of :hover in order to inspect the DOM as it was during a hover event? Any other ideas on how to debug this sort of issue are welcome, of course.

• Populating fields, input types etc using JSON

  I have a form that works as follows.. Server request builds XML of the data on server side and sends xml, XSL stylesheet then transforms the XML data into the plain html page distributing the data to the relevant/desired locations of the form on the page. Person can view page and edit the populated form, submit back to DB. I think JSON is more suitable for this from what I have read. The form itself is split into 3 areas, for me this is 3 maps/associative arrays etc each with a name related to the id of an input element etc. The problem for me comes with having the JSON sent to the page, what should I do with it next in order to achieve the same result as I currently get with XML and XSL. • Setting a property value on each of the results in a FetchedResults set

  Hi On my Core Data Entity "Book" i have a boolean property, 'wasViewed' (NSNumber numberWithBool) that tells me if the Book was "viewed". I would like to implement a sort of "reset" this property for all my NSManagedObjects "Book". So that I can set them all to NO between sessions. I use an NSPredicate to retrieve all the Books like this: NSPredicate *predicate = [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"wasViewed == %@", [NSNumber numberWithBool:YES]]; // code for setting entity, request etc... NSMutableArray *mutableFetchResults = [[[managedObjectContext executeFetchRequest:request error:&error] mutableCopy] autorelease]; This is working just fine, however, now I need to set up a loop, go through each Book object, something like this: for(Book *b in mutableFetchResults) { [b setWasViewed:NO] } Is there a way to perform an action on each element that fits the predicate instead of retrieving it? So instead of executeFetchRequest on a managedObjectContext it could be executeOperationOnFetchRequestResults or something along those lines. Thanks for any input given:)

After population I see the text I want using getTable("tableLister.listTable.1.1") The table also has a class=clsDisplayTableBody. I want to click the check box in column 0 for the row of interest. • Html5 Audio plays only once in my Javascript code.

  I have a dashboard web-app that I want to play an alert sound if its having problems connecting. The site's ajax code will poll for data and throttle down its refresh rate if it can't connect. Once the server comes back up, the site will continue working. In the mean time I would like a sound to play each time it can't connect (so I know to check the server). Here is that code. This code works. var error_audio = new Audio("audio/"+settings.refresh.error_audio); error_audio.load(); //this gets called when there is a connection error. function onConnectionError() { error_audio.play(); } However the 2nd time through the function the audio doesn't play. Digging around in Chrome's debugger the 'played' attribute in the audio element gets set to true. Setting it to false has no results. Any ideas?

  I'm having an issue where I'm trying to update the background gradient of an element with JavaScript based on values I specify. I tried this route: elem.style.backgroundImage = '-webkit-gradient(radial, '+x+' '+y+', 0, '+x+' '+y+', 800, from(#ccc), to(#333)), -moz-radial-gradient('+x+'px '+y+'px, circle cover, #ccc 0, #333 100%)'; Since Webkit and Gecko have two different syntaxes for CSS3 gradients, I need to specify both. However, the above code doesn't work. It works if I only have just the Gecko syntax or just the Webkit syntax, not both. I think you can check for CSS gradient support, but my question is, is there a way to check which syntax needs to be used without browser sniffing? Keep in mind that I need to set my gradients this way since the x and y coordinates of the gradient change dynamically. Hope this makes sense, thanks.

• Forumotion profile customization using jQuery based on URL

  The idea is have a jQuery snippet (I like Jquery...I can understand it better then regular javascript) that will detect that when it has been run on a profile with a url such as "http://customize.forum-motion.com/profile.forum?mode=viewprofile&u=1" (just as an example)...then upon detecting that it is a url of a profile...fetch data from a specific (and most likely hidden) element before wrapping that data in css tags and appending it to the heady of the current document. In short I'm trying to figure out how to make a sort of profile customization system where users can create their own css. The biggest problem I am having so far is figuring out how to make it so that the snippet can figure out what URL its being run on. Is there a function that can do this in jQuery at all?

• addEventListener gone after appending innerHTML

  Okay, so i have the following html added to a site using javascript/greasemonkey. (just sample) *a id='abc'*HEllo*/a* *a id='xyz'*Hello*/a* (excuse me, i've had to replace the '<' '' with * since hyperlinks for new users aren't allowed!) and i've also added a click event listener for the elements. All works fine up to this point, the click event gets fired when i click the element. But... i have another function in the script, which upon a certain condition, modifies that html, ie it appends it, so it looks like: *a id='abc'*HEllo*/a* *a id='xyz'*Hello*/a* *a id='123'*Hello*/a* but when this is done, it breaks the listeners i added for the first two elements... nothing happens when i click them. if i comment out the call to the function which does the appending, it all starts working again! help please...

  Hi, A very strange thing, I have an array where element 7 is '[1000137d]', but when I try to compare it by using if ( $array[7] == '[1000137d]' ) it will return a negative. echo $array[7]; echo '<br>'; echo '[1000137d]'; echo '<br>'; echo md5($array[7]); echo '<br>'; echo md5('[1000137d]'); this code would echo out: [1000137d] [1000137d] ca9983334e720042e3a6cbb1dd6b7fd2 3b1c21e661bd7d38deda1f4a45eaa23b as you can see $array[7] is identical to [1000137d], yet their md5's differ. what do you think might be the problem?   Hello normal validation is always related to some control, but in my case there is no control to fire validation when its content changes and to show errortemplate to the user. because the data to be validated is in the cipboard. when the user presses "PASTE" button viewmodel processes the data and finds it to be invalid. but what is the best way to invoke WPF validation in this case? as far as i understand using IDataErrorInfo is the way to go, but what is the best way to start validation. and whst is the best way of displaying the error? errortemplate of the button element?
