    I am trying to implement CSRF protection in an app built using node.js using the express.js framework. The app makes abundant use of Ajax post calls to the server. I understand that the connect framework provides CSRF middleware, but I am not sure how to implement it in the scope of client-side Ajax post requests. There are bits and pieces about this in other Questions posted here in stackoverflow, but I have yet to find a reasonably complete example of how to implement it from both the client and server sides. Does anyone have a working example they care to share?

  • How do a search a table for similar records and displaying count - Ruby on Rails

    I have created a table in my Ruby on Rails application that I am building called Tags. It is a blog application so I allow the user to associate tags with a post and do this through a :posts, :has_many = tags and Tag belongs_to :post association. Now that I have my Tags table I am trying to see how I would render the view such that it displays the tag and tag count. (it should be noted that I am trying to render this in the /views/posts/index.html.erb file). For instance, if there are 10 entries in the Tag table for tag_name Sports. How can I display Sports (10) in the view. I am not looking to do this for a specific tag but rather, somehow search the table, combine like tags and display a list of all tags with counts next to them. (I really want these to be a link to a list of posts that contain that tag but I learned early on only to ask one question at a time). Hope that makes sense.

    So I am working on tool that can show long a request to a page is taking. I am doing this by using jQuery Ajax (http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.ajax/) and I want to figure out the best way to get the response time. I found a thread (http://forum.jquery.com/topic/jquery-get-time-of-ajax-post) which describes using the "Date" in JavaScript, but is this method really reliable?     Hey Recently I'm interested in post's structure of Wordpress. They use a table named (wp_posts) and in this table they saved 3 related fields such as : post_title post_name guid It's clear that they save title of each story in post_title field , and slugs in post_name , and full url of a post in guild filed . But where the hell, they rewrite these urls in way it appears in browsers : http://localhost/wordpress/about/ There is no htaccess rules for this ! I checked rewrite.php and didn't understand an inch ?! i need to create similar pages , what steps should i take !?

  • How do I write to command line from a WPF application?

    Hi I know how to write to console but if I write to console in my program and call my program from the command line it won't display anything. How do I make it so that when I say Console.WriteLine or Console.Out.Writeline ir prints to the command prompt from which it was called and not somewhere else? Once again I know how to do Console.WriteLine so it's not that :-p unless I'm doing it wrong. From what I can tell it's probably something to do with Console.SetOut(TextWriter t) this is a WPF application and I need it to post its data to the command line while still retaining the GUI at startup. I've triple checked and my code hits the print lines, I can actually see the lines being printed to the Visual Studio output window, it just won't display in the command line when I run it manually without VS. If possible I need to conditionally have the console display. ie if run from command line (or even with command arguments), display or post to the prompt, otherwise do not.

  • Why aren't my JQuery .ajax requests being made in parallel?

    I am trying to make two ajax requests in parallel using jQuery like this: var sources = ["source1", "source2"]; $(sources).each(function() { var source = this; $.ajax({ async: true, type: "POST", data: {post: "data", in: "here"}, url: "/my/url/" + source, success: function(data) { process_result(data); } }); }); I got the basic structure from this question, but my requests still aren't being made in parallel. "source1" takes a while to complete, and I can see on the server that the second request isn't made until the first is completed. As far as I can tell, I don't have any other active requests, so I don't think it's a problem with the maximum number of parallel requests for the browser. Am I missing something else here?

I can't get it to work in FF/Safari; it works great in IE, but FF/Safari won't play ball.. orensanz.org/photos.html would very much appreciate some suggestions.. supposedly there's a google group (forum) for this thing (can't post url.. this thing limits how many urls u can include in a post, it's linked to from their home pg (url above.. oh brother..) but when you link to it you land on a pg that says they've been booted out b/c they violated google's terms of service....;-) thank you..

    I'm coding up a small Vista/7 sidebar gadget for our web based employee schedule system and I've run into a Javascript problem that my Google-FU can't solve. I can't figure out how to fill in a login form from the client. I'm creating a new ActiveXObject, navigating to the site, but lost as to where to go from here. var conn = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); conn.open("POST", "url", false); conn.send(null); Can access the form from the ActiveXObject based on the form id?     I am using a horizontal scroll for a page on my website ~ works great in FF but not in IE, how can i get it to work in IE?     I have a form on my site. The user enters their e-mail and selects a location from a dropdown. I then need to post that data to an external site by hitting a url with the user's location and e-mail in the query string. I'm doing this like so: string url = "http://www.site.com/page.aspx?location=" + location.Text + "&email=" + email.Text; HttpWebRequest request = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(url); HttpWebResponse response = (HttpWebResponse)request.GetResponse(); My client says that I am not hitting their server, but when going through the debugger, I'm getting a response from their server. I also tried tracking what was happening by using Firebug, and I noticed that there was no POST made to that external site. What am I doing wrong here?

    Hi, I have a rest interface for my project. For one class i have a POST method where you can post an xml and i RETURN a custom response like: <userInvitation>Invalid email</userInvitation> if the email from the xml which was posted, was incorrect + other custom messages i have defined for different situations. For all of these the HTTP STATUS is automatically put on 200 (OK). Is there any way to change it? Ps: I know that i can throw a web application like : throw new WebApplicationException(Response.Status.BAD_REQUEST); but in this case my custom response is no more included. So i just want to return my custom error + 400 as http response. Thanks in advance.

    I have a table column called post_tags within a table called posts where assigned tags are stored separated by the @ symbol. I also have a table called tags where all tag names are stored. I would like to design my database in a more normalized way but for the purpose I am trying to achieve this is the easiest option. Anyway, I want to display on the screen all the entries from the tags table as checkboxes, so I do: $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM tags ORDER BY name"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $tag = $row['name']; echo "<input type='checkbox' name='tags[]' value='$tag' />\n"; } Next I want to have the tags that are assigned to a particular post be preselected. For example, if I have a post with the following in it's post_tags column: party@beaches@dolphins@ I want the "party", "beaches" and "dolphin" checkboxes to be checked by default (while the checkboxes for the other options are unchecked). How can this be done?

    I build a css file using PHP which allows me to easily customize the color of many elements. Is it possible for me to "rebuild" the stylesheet and apply it to the page in the DOM using Jquery? eg. <?php if (isset($_POST['mycolor'])){ $myColor = $_POST['mycolor']; } else { $myColor = "blue"; } ?> <style type='text/css'> .style1{ color:<?php $myColor;?>; } </style> Now on my page I have a link you can click called "change color to red" and when you click "red" it does a $.post to my php script, which rebuilds the css including .style1 - and allows the page to change the stylesheet. I haven't tested this but would it even work? If I echo'ed out the new stylesheet after the post into the dom... would it even apply to the page?

  • What's the best way to debug AJAX to PHP calls?

    I'm having a miserable time debugging one small function on my new project. Essentially I'm having a user log out via an AJAX call to my log out script on my server called "userfFunctions.php" I'm using AJAX so that I don't have the headache of writing more regex to match my mod_rewrites. Anyway, every so often, it seems as though my Post data just flat out dies and since the PHP is running behind the scenes, I feel like I have no way of finding out where the data flow is being disrupted. BTW This function works 19 hrs of the day.   • PHP to make vars and values part of array

    I currently have this function to search and replace in a text file. // Input $ect = array('Visssa', 'Lisssa', 'her'); // Placeholders in the file $put = array('lname', 'fname', 'hisher'); // Replace the placeholders $oput = str_replace($put, $ct, 'tmpfile.txt'); This is not the full program but the idea is replace the values found in tmpfile.txt with the ones found in the $etc array. And it works flawlessly. But, what I need to do is get all passed vars (get/post) and then make the arrays so that the var is the value to replace and the value is the value to replace it with. So, if I sent the url http://xyz.com/?lname=tom&ogre=yes All instances of lname in the file would be replaces with tom and all instances of ogre would be replaced with yes. So somehow it just gets any/all variables passed in get/post and then the arrays showed above would cause the var to be replaced by the value in the file.
