In Reporting Services how to filter drop down parameter list in based on other selected parameter?

Question In a Reporting Services Report, How do I filter a second drop down list of cars to only show cars whose ManufacturerId is equal the selected Manufacturer (from the first drop down list)? Report Datasets I have 2 datasets. Dataset 1. A list of Manufacturers. From a stored procedure Report_Manufacturers_P Dataset 2. A list of Cars, including a column called Manufacturers id. From a stored procedure Report_Cars_P Report Parameters On the Report I have 2 Parameters. Parameter 1. ManufacturerId. Set from A drop down list of Manufacturers (DataSet 1). Parameter 2. CarId. Set from A drop down list of Cars (DataSet 2). I've tried.. Creating another sproc called Report_Manufacturer_Cars_P that takes the ManufacturerId as an integer and returns a list of cars made by that manufacturer. Any Ideas. As selecting a Manufacturer doesn't seem to want to kick off anything that filters the Car list? Thanks in advance, -- Lee

Segmentation Fault when trying to push a string to the back of a list.

I am trying to write a logger class for my C++ calculator, but I'm experiencing a problem while trying to push a string into a list. I have tried researching this issue and have found some information on this, but nothing that seems to help with my problem. I am using a rather basic C++ compiler, with little debugging utilities and I've not used C++ in quite some time (even then it was only a small amount). In templates.h I will have to NM_TEMPLATE_DECLARE_LIST(int), NM_TEMPLATE_DECLARE_LIST(double) , while in templates.c I will need to NM_TEMPLATE_DEFINE_LIST(int) , NM_TEMPLATE_DEFINE_LIST(double) , in order to have the code behind a list of ints, doubles and so on, generated. By following this strategy I will have to keep all my "template" declarations in two files, and in the same time, I will need to include templates.h whenever I need the data structures. It's a very "centralized" solution. Do you know other strategy in order to "imitate" (at some point) templates in C++ ? Do you know a way to improve this strategy, in order to keep things in more decentralized manner, so that I won't need the two files: templates.c and templates.h ?

Actually these OOB list forms bind hands of developers for the customization. It gives headache to developers to add just one post back event, for a dropdown field and to populate other fields in NewForm.aspx or EditForm.aspx. On top of that clients always ask such stuff. So here I am going to give you guys a flight for SharePoint Customization world. In this blog, I will explain, how to create CustomListForm WebPart. In my next blogs, I am going to explain easy deployment of List Forms through features and last, guidance on using SharePoint web controls. 1. First thing, create a class library project through Visual Studio and inherit the class with WebPart class. public class CustomListForm : WebPart 2. Declare the public variables and properties which we are going to use throughout the class. The advantage of using Field Label is, SharePoint automatically adds red star besides field label to identify it as mandatory field if there is any. Here is most important part to understand. The “BaseFieldControl”. It will render the respective web controls according to type of the field. For example, if it’s single line of text, then Textbox, if it’s look up then it renders dropdown. Additionally, the “ControlMode” property tells compiler that which mode (display/edit/new) controls need to be rendered with. In display mode, it will render label with field value. In edit mode, it will render respective control with item value and in new mode it will render respective control with empty value. Please note that, it’s not always the case when dropdown field will be rendered for Lookup field or Choice field. You need to understand which controls are rendered for which list fields. I am planning to write a separate blog which I hope to publish it very soon. How to prevent certain workflows from showing in SharePoint's Workflow.aspx page for a list.

I have a few workflows associated with a SharePoint list (e.g., Pages). Some are written as SharePoint WF workflows in Visual Studio, but some are no-code workflows created in SharePoint Designer. I programmatically start the WF workflows, but the no-code ones are started manually. When a user goes to "/_layouts/Workflow.aspx?ID=&List=&ShowStart=1" they will see all of the workflows. If I set ShowStart variable to 0 they will see none. If I don't allow the WF workflows to be started manually, then they don't seem to start programmatically correctly. Is there a way to allow the WF workflows to be started programmatically, but not manually? I also want the no-code workflows to be able to be started manually when ShowStart=1. Any ideas are welcome.

Hi I am using jquery 1.3.2 and asp.net mvc 1.0. Originally I was using some other rich html editor but I ran into one major problem when a user pasted in text from open office or MS office it would bring along tons of styling junk. If a user like wrote one sentence what was like 25 characters and pasted that into my current html editor the count would 25,000 characters and I don't want to store all that junk( I can't afford to). So tinyMCE seems to not have this problem. However I got some questions. It seems if you want to use for commercial use(what my site is but currently is not making very much at this time) you need to get a commercial license. However it does not say if it is free or if it will cost money. I am assuming it means that you will have to pay but I would like to confirm this. So do you have to pay for a license to use tinyMCe if your using it for commercial use? (Yes/ No) ------------------ Answer the following questions if you said "no" to the first question ----------- So would I use the jQuery package then or is it better to use the other versions? What is this .net compressor zip for? Do I need it? I only want a few of the buttons(like bold,font size) can I remove the other buttons? It seems to display a word count. Cisco ASA (Client VPN) to LAN - through second VPN to second LAN

We have 2 site that is linked by an IPSEC VPN to remote Cisco ASAs: Site 1 1.5Mb T1 Connection Cisco(1) 2841 Site 2 1.5Mb T1 Connection Cisco 2841 In addition: Site 1 has a 2nd WAN 3Mb bonded T1 Connection Cisco 5510 that connects to same LAN as Cisco(1) 2841. Basically, Remote Access (VPN) users connecting through Cisco ASA 5510 needs access to a service at the end of Site 2. This is due to the way the service is sold - Cisco 2841 routers are not under our management and it is setup to allow connection from local LAN VLAN 1 IP address 10.20.0.0/24. My idea is to have all traffic from Remote Users through Cisco ASA destined for Site 2 to go via the VPN between Site 1 and Site 2. The end result being all traffic that hits Site 2 has come via Site 1. I'm struggling to find a great deal of information on how this is setup. So, firstly, can anyone confirm that what I'm trying to achieve is possible? Can't change text color in Microsoft Word 2010

I have Microsoft Office 2010 32-bit running on Windows 7 32-bit. When text is highlighted and a color is selected from the mini-toolbar or the ribbon, the text does not change color. If I change the color for multiple words, and select a different color for each word, the toolbar and ribbon will reflect each of the different colors that I chose, however it is not displayed in the document. So it appears that Word is aware of the text color and not as if it is simply not applying the change. What may be causing this inability to view text colors and how might I fix it? My only troubleshooting attempt so far has been to perform a repair installation of Office. EDIT 1 I created a document, typed a word, selected it and changed the color. I then saved the document as HTML. The text did not change color. Oddly, I had some strange issues while the macro was recorded. I could not select text with my cursor. I had to select the text with control a and then apply the color change. I then couldn't deselect the selected text. Nonetheless, the text showed that it had a different color in the toolbar, but the color did not display in the document. Here's the macro: Sub Change_Text_Color() ' ' Change_Text_Color Macro ' ' Selection.TypeText Text:="Test Text" Selection.WholeStory Selection.WholeStory End Sub EDIT 3 I opened WordPad and created some text and was able to successfully change the color. If I copy and paste the colored text into a Word 2010 document, the color is lost. However, if you place the I-beam in the text and then look at the color selection drop-down menu on the ribbon or mini-toolbar, you can see that the proper color that the text should be in is highlighted. Edit 4 I uninstalled the entire Office 2010 Suite, rebooted and then reinstalled the suite. No change in behavior. Edit 5 Text cannot be colored in Excel either.

Finding what makes strings unique in a list, can you improve on brute force?

Suppose I have a list of strings where each string is exactly 4 characters long and unique within the list. For each of these strings I want to identify the position of the characters within the string that make the string unique. So for a list of three strings abcd abcc bbcb For the first string I want to identify the character in 4th position d since d does not appear in the 4th position in any other string. For the second string I want to identify the character in 4th position c. For the third string it I want to identify the character in 1st position b AND the character in 4th position, also b. This could be concisely represented as abcd -> ...d abcc -> ...c bbcb -> b..b If you consider the same problem but with a list of binary numbers 0101 0011 1111 Then the result I want would be 0101 -> ..0. 0011 -> .0.. 1111 -> 1... Staying with the binary theme I can use XOR to identify which bits are unique within two binary numbers since 0101 ^ 0011 = 0110 which I can interpret as meaning that in this case the 2nd and 3rd bits (reading left to right) are unique between these two binary numbers. This technique might be a red herring unless somehow it can be extended to the larger list. A brute-force approach would be to look at each string in turn, and for each string to iterate through vertical slices of the remainder of the strings in the list. So for the list abcd abcc bbcb I would start with abcd and iterate through vertical slices of abcc bbcb where these vertical slices would be a | b | c | c b | b | c | b or in list form, "ab", "bb", "cc", "cb". This would result in four comparisons a : ab -> . (a is not unique) b : bb -> . (b is not unique) c : cc -> . (c is not unique) d : cb -> d (d is unique) or concisely abcd -> ...d Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I have a feeling that there should be an elegant and general solution that would apply to an arbitrarily large list of strings (or binary numbers). But if there is I haven't yet been able to see it. I hope to use this algorithm to to derive minimal signatures from a collection of unique images (bitmaps) in order to efficiently identify those images at a future time. If future efficiency wasn't a concern I would use a simple hash of each image. Can you improve on brute force?

GUI Design - Roleselection with two lists, selected roles on the right, or left list?

Hi, image two lists for selecting roles for a new user creation in an administrator frontend. One list has all available roles in it and another has the selected roles in it. Between those lists are buttons to move elements from one list to another. Thus the layout is horizontal with [List] [Buttons] [List]. Now to the question: Should the selected elements be on the left, or the right list? Intuitively some people I asked say, that the selected elements have to be on the right list. But some other people follow some sort of guideline that says, that the more important stuff in a frontend has to be on the left side. Also they think the selected elements are more important than the non-selected and so the selected ones have to be on the left side. Whats your opinion?

getView only shows Flagged Backgrounds for drawn Views, It does not show Flagged Background when scroll to view more items on list

I am trying to create a listview that receives a flagged list of items to indicate a status to the user. I have been able to create the flag display by using a yellow background (see image at bottom). In Theory, the flagged list can have many flagged items in it. However in my app, only the first three flagged backgrounds are shown. I believe this is because they are initially drawn to the screen. The Flagged background that are not drawn initially to the screen do not show. I'd like to know how to get the remaining flags to show in the list. ListView Recycling: The backgrounds in the listView are being recycled in getView(). This recycling goes from position 0 to position 9. I have flags that need to match at positions 13, 14 and so on. Those positions are not being displayed. listView.getCheckedItemPositions() for multiple selections: This method will not work in my case because the user will not selected the flags. The flags are coming from the server. setNotifyOnChange() and/or public virtual void SetNotifyOnChange (bool notifyOnChange): I'm not adding new data to the list, so I don't see how this method would work for my program. Does this method communicate to getview when it is recycling data? How can I generate a list of words made up of combinations of three word lists in Perl?

I have three lists of words. I would like to generate a single list of all the combinations of words from the three lists. List 1: red green blue List 2: one two List 3: apple banana The final list would like like so: red one apple red two apple red one banana red two banana ... and so on Ideally I'd like to pass in three arrays and the routine return one array. I have done a simple loop like so: foreach $word1 (@list1){ foreach $word2 (@list2){ foreach $word3 (@list3){ print "$word1 $word2 $word3\n"; } } } However, this doesn't work if there's nothing in the second or third list (I may only want to iterate between one, two or three lists at a time - in other words, if I only supply two lists it should iterate between those two lists).

How can I restore the order of an (incomplete) select list to its original order?

I have two Select lists, between which you can move selected options. You can also move options up and down in the right list. When I move options back over to the left list, I would like them to retain their original position in the list order, even if the list is missing some original options. This is solely for the purpose of making the list more convenient for the user. I am currently defining an array with the original Select list onload. What would be the best way to implement this?

In other words, when I change the two properties, eventResolved and eventSequence, is "list" actually changed, or is thisEvent just some totally disconnected copy of an item in "list"?

Why does using cons to create a pair of two lists produce a list and two elements?

I've started learning Scheme, for fun mostly, and because I've never used a functional language before. I chose Scheme because I wanted to read SICP for a long time. Anyway, I'm currently learning about lists, and before that I learned about cons, car and cdr. And there's an example that creates a list of lists with cons, like this : (cons (list 1 2) (list 3 4)) The resulting list is ((1 2) 3 4), which doesn't make sense to me, I would expect ((1 2)(3 4)) to be the result (a list made out of two lists). Why does it behave like that? I realize that if I were to use car, I would get (1 2), and cdr I'd get (3 4) becaue cdr always returns "the rest", but I don't understand why the list isn't made of two lists?

Position:absolute

I have I have a div called logo. I want the logo to be on top of other areas and to overlap into the the preface top of a drupal site, the logo currently sits in the header area. I looked up position absolute and I think that what I need to use but when I use position absolute the logo disappears, I can see it if I use position fixed, relative etc. I thought the logo was being hidden because I was not using a z-index but even with that I cant see the logo. In my ASP.net MVC4 web application I use IEnumerables, trying to follow the mantra to program to the interface, not the implementation. Return IEnumerable(Of Student) vs Return New List(Of Student) People are telling me to use List and not IEnumerable, because lists force the query to be executed and IEumerable does not. Is this really best practice? Is there any alternative? I feel strange using concrete objects where an interface could be used. Is my strange feeling justified?

I had problems with my movie player. The sound was fine but the picture seemed to hesitate or stick or pause every few seconds so I was looking for some help on how to do this. I tried to install a command in the terminal and got this message: E:Malformed line 68 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse) Can someone tell me how to fix this problem. I cannot open the software center or the update manager. The only other option I can think of is to wipe everything out and do a clean install. Thank you.
