  • Xml files stop being served by IIS6 after allowing .net to process the .xml extension

    - by Brian Surowiec
    I added a route into my site to allow for a sitemap and everything worked fine in IIS7 but once I deployed the route stopped working. Since the live server is running IIS6 I needed to put a new mapping in for .xml to be processed by .net and then it started to work. My issue though is on every other xml file on the site now. I keep getting a 404 error when trying to view xml files, but the sitemap.xml route works. Is this a routing issue or an IIS setup issue? Here are my routes if it will help routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.MapRoute( "Gallery-Group-View", "Projects/{groupId}", new { controller = "Gallery", action = "GalleryList", groupId = "" }); routes.MapRoute( "Gallery-List-View", "Projects/{groupId}/{galleryId}", new { controller = "Gallery", action = "GalleryView", groupId = "", galleryId = "" }); routes.MapRoute( "Sitemap", "Sitemap.xml", new { controller = "XML", action = "Sitemap" } ); routes.MapRoute( "Default", "{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } );

  • Where to store a DataSource resource in a Java web app?

    - by Slavko
    This is a rookie question. What's the best place to put @Resource private DataSource ds; in a web application? Do I put it in a servlet, context listener or maybe there's a better place for it? Also, do I create a new Connection object in my doGet()/doPost() or should I do it somewhere else? What's the best practice for stuff like this? Thank you!

  • jquery ui dialog and our dearest friend, ie6

    - by bradjive
    I'm using the jquery ui dialog for a modal popup dialog. It's working great in Firefox/Chrome but terrible in ie6. Problem: When I show the dialog in ie6, the browser window grows and automatically scrolls down to the bottom. The height increase and automatic scroll-down is equal to the height of the jquery dialog. I can scroll up and then use the dialog as normal, but the behavior where it grows the window and drops is maddeningly unacceptable. Here is how I'm launching the window: <div id="dialogWindow"></div> ... $(document).ready(function() { var $dialog = $("#dialogWindow").dialog({ autoOpen: false, modal: true, minWidth: 560, width: 560, resizable: "true", position: "top" }); $('.addButton').click(function(e) { e.preventDefault(); $('#dialogWindow').load('http://myurl'); $dialog.dialog('open'); }); }); I am already using the bgiframe plugin for jquery which is key for ie6 overlay issues. But this seems unrelated to that. Has anyone seen this before and found a work around?

  • Where to execute extra logic for linq to entities query?

    - by Inez
    Let say that I want to populate a list of CustomerViewModel which are built based on Customer Entity Framework model with some fields (like Balance) calculated separately. Below I have code which works for lists - it is implemented in my service layer, but also I want to execute this code when I just get one item from the database and execute is as well in different services where I'm accessing Customers data as well. How should I do this to ensure performance but to to not duplicate code - the one for calculating Balance? public List<CustomerViewModel> GetCustomerViewModelList() { IQueryable<CustomerViewModel> list = from k in _customerRepository.List() select new CustomerViewModel { Id = k.Id, Name = k.Name, Balance = k.Event.Where(z => z.EventType == (int) EventTypes.Income).Sum(z => z.Amount) }; return list.ToList(); }

  • Can backslash be encoded correctly in URL with URL rewrite?

    - by Millionbonus
    I am working on a ASP.NET MVC2 project. The problem is when a string which would be rewritten into URL that contains special character such as backslash or question mark. That will make URL wrong, even I have encoded it before. For example: 1. I have a product id "p001/2-2". 2. I encoded it into "p001%252f2-2" 3. The URL http://domain.com/ProductView/p001%252f2-2 will response HTTP Error 400 - Bad Request. How can I get it correct?

  • Javascript top banner control [closed]

    - by Mike Pateras
    Possible Duplicates: How to show popup message like in stackoverflow Header message just like at Stack Overflow How to display a message on screen without refreshing like SO does? I'm looking for something like StackOverflow's banner that pops up (or rather drops down) from the top of the screen when you have a new alert. Preferably some javascript widget, though I'd be open to anything that will work with an ASP.Net MVC2 web page. All I'm looking for is a simple top-banner alert/message that looks good, preferably with a cancel button. Is there something like that, freely available?

  • NerdDinner difficulties

    - by George
    Hello guys, I'm having a problem with the Create method of the NerdDinner tutorial, which is very good BTW. As you can see here http://nerddinnerbook.s3.amazonaws.com/Part5.htm in the Create method, he removed the ID field of the aspx page. I did that too, but I cannot add any dinners because I get a primary key violation. How is NerdDinner controlling the ids of each dinner? I revised the tutorial and could not see any references to identity fields on SQL database. I even created a method to get me the highest id in the table: public int GetHighestDinnerId() { int resultado = (from dinner in dataContext.Dinners select dinner.DinnerId).Max(); return resultado; } which does not work either. Any thoughts? Thank you

  • Spring - Redirect after POST (even with validation errors)

    - by Taylor L
    I'm trying to figure out how to "preserve" the BindingResult so it can be used in a subsequent GET via the Spring <form:errors> tag. The reason I want to do this is because of Google App Engine's SSL limitations. I have a form which is displayed via HTTP and the post is to an HTTPS URL. If I only forward rather than redirect then the user would see the https://whatever.appspot.com/my/form URL. I'm trying to avoid this. Any ideas how to approach this? Below is what I'd like to do, but I only see validation errors when I use return "create". @RequestMapping(value = "/submit", method = RequestMethod.POST) public final String submit( @ModelAttribute("register") @Valid final Register register, final BindingResult binding) { if (binding.hasErrors()) { return "redirect:/register/create"; } return "redirect:/register/success"; }

  • MS Chart Control for ASP.NET 100% Stacked Bar Chart Question.

    - by Jacob Huggart
    Hello All, I am trying to display a chart with several different bars that represent a ratio of some values. For example, one bar may say that there are 25 items in three different groups (maybe dirty, clean, and broken) and of those 25 items x items from each category add up to the total. Later the data will dynamically change and be displayed accordingly. But for now all I want to do is be able to display three different values on the same bar. Unfortunately, whatever properties I need to bind the data to are buried somewhere in the menus and I cannot seem to find them. Do any of you guys have experience with this sort of chart?

  • Unrequired property keeps getting data-val-required attribute

    - by frennky
    This is the model with it's validation: [MetadataType(typeof(TagValidation))] public partial class Tag { } public class TagValidation { [Editable(false)] [HiddenInput(DisplayValue = false)] public int TagId { get; set; } [Required] [StringLength(20)] [DataType(DataType.Text)] public string Name { get; set; } //... } Here is the view: <h2>Create</h2> <script src="@Url.Content("~/Scripts/jquery.validate.min.js")" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="@Url.Content("~/Scripts/jquery.validate.unobtrusive.min.js")" type="text/javascript"></script> @using (Html.BeginForm()) { @Html.ValidationSummary(true) <fieldset> <legend>Tag</legend> <div>@Html.EditorForModel()</div> <p> <input type="submit" value="Create" /> </p> </fieldset> } <div> @Html.ActionLink("Back to List", "Index") </div> And here is what get's renderd: <form action="/Tag/Create" method="post"> <fieldset> <legend>Tag</legend> <div><input data-val="true" data-val-number="The field TagId must be a number." data-val-required="The TagId field is required." id="TagId" name="TagId" type="hidden" value="" /> <div class="editor-label"><label for="Name">Name</label></div> <div class="editor-field"><input class="text-box single-line" data-val="true" data-val-length="The field Name must be a string with a maximum length of 20." data-val-length-max="20" data-val-required="The Name field is required." id="Name" name="Name" type="text" value="" /> <span class="field-validation-valid" data-valmsg-for="Name" data-valmsg-replace="true"></span></div> ... </fieldset> </form> The problem is that TagId validation gets generated althoug thare is no Required attribute set on TagId property. Because of that I can't even pass the client-side validation in order to create new Tag in db. What am I missing?

  • Which view will be resolved, code from spring's docs

    - by Blankman
    So when you go to /appointments the get() action is called, so then would the view be get.jsp (assuming you are using .jsp, and assuming you are mapping action names to views)? And what about the getnewform? It seems to be returning an object? Is that basically passed into the view? @Controller @RequestMapping("/appointments") public class AppointmentsController { private final AppointmentBook appointmentBook; @Autowired public AppointmentsController(AppointmentBook appointmentBook) { this.appointmentBook = appointmentBook; } @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.GET) public Map<String, Appointment> get() { return appointmentBook.getAppointmentsForToday(); } @RequestMapping(value="/{day}", method = RequestMethod.GET) public Map<String, Appointment> getForDay(@PathVariable @DateTimeFormat(iso=ISO.DATE) Date day, Model model) { return appointmentBook.getAppointmentsForDay(day); } @RequestMapping(value="/new", method = RequestMethod.GET) public AppointmentForm getNewForm() { return new AppointmentForm(); } @RequestMapping(method = RequestMethod.POST) public String add(@Valid AppointmentForm appointment, BindingResult result) { if (result.hasErrors()) { return "appointments/new"; } appointmentBook.addAppointment(appointment); return "redirect:/appointments"; } } In the example, the @RequestMapping is used in a number of places. The first usage is on the type (class) level, which indicates that all handling methods on this controller are relative to the /appointments path. The get() method has a further @RequestMapping refinement: it only accepts GET requests, meaning that an HTTP GET for /appointments invokes this method. The post() has a similar refinement, and the getNewForm() combines the definition of HTTP method and path into one, so that GET requests for appointments/new are handled by that method.

  • JqGrid doesn't work in ASP.NET MVC2

    - by Raouf
    I have a project in ASP.NET MVC1 using VB.NET controlers and JqGrid. it works fine under MVC1. After migrating the project to ASP.NET MVC2, the grid is no longer populated. It seems that there is some new restrictions on returned Jsonresult in MVC2. How to solve this in VB.NET. Controler function populating the jqgrid is something like this : Function GetGridRecordset(ByVal qry As String) As JsonResult Dim result = New JsonResult() ... ... Return result End Function Is there anyone who have a solution?

  • IIS 7.0 - Every site suddenly redirecting root request to forms authentication

    - by Pittsburgh DBA
    Suddenly, IIS 7.0 is redirecting every request for the root of any domain hosted on the box to ~/Account/Logon, which is our Forms Authentication redirect. Additionally, some JavaScript and image requests are being similarly redirected, but not other aspx pages. This is not desirable. Nobody will admit to changing anything. Any ideas? EDIT: It turns out that something has gone wrong with the disk permissions. Can anyone point me to the way things are supposed to be in Windows Server 2008 for a standard ASP.Net installation? The disk permissions are out of whack now.
