I'm trying to use facebook connect in my site so users can register/login with it and I'm having a little bit of trouble understanding all the tutorials around the web.
My question is simple, does the facebook php client lib work in my use case or only to develop facebook applications that run inside fb ?
Looking around, there are plenty of options available for form management inPHP from several frameworks: Zend, CakePHP, CodeIgniter, Symphony, and probably several others offer solutions. All else being equal, which set of form classes do you prefer? What makes any of these better than the others?

I'm trying to group down records by their priority levels, e.g.
--- Priority: High ---
Records...
--- Priority: Medium ---
Records...
--- Priority: Low ---
Records...
Something like that, how do I do that in PHP? The while loop orders records by the priority column which has int value (high = 3, medium = 2, low = 1). e.g. WHERE priority = '1'
The label: "Priority: [priority level]" has to be set above the grouped records regarding their level
I've recently upgraded MySQL on my Debian 5.0.4 server to 5.1. Now phpMyAdmin shows the following warning:
Your PHP MySQL library version 5.0.51a differs from your MySQL server version 5.1.43
Is it likely to cause any problems?
Using PHP can you create a pseudo form submit without ever generating a form? Just initialize and declare variables and them pass them to another page via the POST or GET methods?
I have an application on my server that is called leaf.exe, that haves two arguments needed to run, they are: inputfile and outputfile, that will be like this example:
pnote.exe input.pnt output.txt
The executable is at exec/, inputfile is at upload/ and outputfile is on compiled/. But I need that a PHP could run the application like that, then I want to know:
How could I do this?
How could I echo the output of the program?
I need a similar function inPHP for this JavaScript function
text = text.replace(/ffc/g, "Hello");
I think preg_replace will do, but i'm not sure how to write the expression..
In your opinion, which PHP CMS has the best architecture? I don't care about how easy its admin panel is to use, or how many CMS features it has. Right now, I'm after how good its code is (so, please, don't even mention Drupal or Wordpress /shudder). I want to know which ones have a good, solid, OOP codebase.
Please provide as much detail as you can in your replies.
Hi, I'm creating a PHP web app, and I want to make it secure, fast and scalable. At the start, I'm using a Shared Hosting, but I'm planning movimg to a VPS. Can you suggest me some tips, please?
Is it possible to create a PHP function that takes a variable number of parameters all of them by reference?
It doesn't help me a function that receives by reference an array of values nor a function that takes its arguments wrapped in an object because I'm working on function composition and argument binding.
Don't think about call-time pass-by-reference either. That thing shouldn't even exist.
Hi, I have some errors in my output source code, I'm wondering if there is a tool that is able to look through the site and find which .tpl file my error is in? That, or at least give me a list of .tpls to look through. I can't seem to find this error and the site isn't very well documented. I'm not the best PHP programmer, I'd be looking for an online resource or something pretty simple.
Thanks very much.

My site is requesting a remote image which is being transferred with the wrong MIME type. I was wondering how might I override it inPHP to tell it that it's an image? I can't use header('Content-Type') because the image is being used in a HTML document.
http://manga.justcarl.co.uk/N/Naruto/494/1 - one of the pages attempting to request an image... the image looks broken because it's trying to output it as html
Is there php function to remove the space inside the string? for example:

Hi guys,
Probably, this question has been asked before, though, I'll ask it again.
Currently, I'm facing a problem with form encoding. When posting my form, all spaces are replaced by the "+" character. I would like to replace this "+" character by a real space.
Does someone has a PHP solution for this?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Lennart
Hi, is it possible to detect if flash is installed using PHP. My aim is, that if it is installed it will play a flv file, and if not it will use another player eg; quicktime? If it is possible how do I go about doing it?

I have been approached to create a website using Sabre Web Services to power the reservations system. All documentation I have seen refers to .NET or Java solutions, I was in doubt whether PHP can be used as access is performed using SOAP. I have found no further information about this, I assume the answer is yes, but wonder why there is not a single reference to this being possible - all solutions seem to be .NET
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
The following code:
print_r($_GET);
echo '<br />';
echo isset($_GET['logout'])?'yes':'no';
prints:
Array ( [logoout] => )
no
Why is it printing "no" instend of "yes"?
http://www.chuckecheese.com/rotator.php?cheese=4&id=1
I want to take out the id, leaving the cheese to stand alone. I tried:
$qs = preg_replace("[^&id=*]" ,'',$_SERVER[QUERY_STRING]);
But that said I was using an improper modifier. I want to remove "$id=" and whatever number comes after it. Are regexp really as hard as they seem for me?
Hi, I'm just wondering how I could remove everything after a certain substring inPHP
ex:
Posted On April 6th By Some Dude
I'd like to have it so that it removes all the text including, and after, the sub string "By"
Thanks
