  • Preserve time stamp when shrinking an image

    - by Ckhrysze
My digital camera takes pictures with a very high resolution, and I have a PIL script to shrink them to 800x600 (or 600x800). However, it would be nice for the resultant file to retain the original timestamp. I noticed in the docs that I can use a File object instead of a name in PIL's image save method, but I don't know if that will help or not. My code is basically name, ext = os.path.splitext(filename) # open an image file (.bmp,.jpg,.png,.gif) you have in the working folder image = Image.open(filename) width = 800 height = 600 w, h = image.size if h > w: width = 600 height = 800 name = name + ".jpg" shunken = image.resize((width, height), Image.ANTIALIAS) shunken.save(name) Thank you for any help you can give!

  • Help with pyHook error.

    - by Shady
Hey, I'm trying to make a global hotkey with pyhook in python that is supposed to work only with the alt key pressed. here is the source: import pyHook import pythoncom hm = pyHook.HookManager() def OnKeyboardEvent(event): if event.Alt == 32 and event.KeyID == 49: print 'HERE WILL BE THE CODE' hm.KeyDown = OnKeyboardEvent hm.HookKeyboard() pythoncom.PumpMessages() but when I execute, only works with the second press of the second key (number 1 = 49)... and give this error: http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/1858/errord.png How can I solve it? • Smooth mousover images inside scaled Flex App?

    - by Josh Handel
I have a flex app I am scaling using systemManager.stage.scaleMode=StageScaleMode.NO_BORDER; for the most part it works well except for my bitmap data (mostly png's from the designers). I can set the mx:image tags to smoothBitmapContent=true and that works great for everything except my mouseover objects. When I do a mouseover, the source is being changed from one embedded image to another embedded image. I have tried several (many) online "smoothimage" classes, and tried to write my own, I have tried to reset smoothBitmapContent every chance I get but still no dice. It seems to mee that because I am scaling at the app level, that the flopped out bitmap is not getting smoothed when it renders. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep things smooth (perhaps there is a flag to tell Flex to smooth stuff when it scales it?). Thanks Josh

  • How to colorize section headings in LaTeX like this?

    - by Nazgulled
Hi, Accidently I created this nice colored effect on my LaTeX TOC: http://i43.tinypic.com/o5aptl.png Which I like and want to keep, I created this effect like this: \definecolor{Section1}{rgb}{0.09,0.21,0.36} \section{\color{Section1}Introdução} However, as you can see on the TOC sidebar, there was a nasty side effect. I tried to fix it like this: \section[Introdução]{\color{Section1}Introdução} But didn't work, the sidebar TOC was fixed but on the TOC list, the blue color was gone and was now red instead (default for clickable TOC heading links) I also tried: {\color{Section1}\section{Introdução}} But the effect was the same, fixed TOC but no color on the TOC list. Any suggestions?

  • Smartest way to draw 100+ images on screen

    - by Henrik
Hello all, First of all I'm a newbie when it comes to Android programming. So if this question is totally stupid please delete it ASAP :-). Question: I'm going to draw a grid of 10x10 PNG images. Each image is 32x32 px. All of the images are unique. I'm thinking that the easiest way seems to be to put each image in an ImageView. If adding all ImageView's to the layout would this give me some kind of performance hit? Would there be any smarter way to draw these images? Thanks. / Henrik

  • MFMailComposerViewController doesn't always display attachments

    - by davbryn
I'm attaching a few files to an email to export from the application I've written, namely a .pdf and a .png. I create these by rendering some view to a context and creating an image and a pdf. I can validate that the files are created properly (I can confirm this by looking in my apps sandbox from Finder, and also by sending the email. I receive the files correctly.) The problem I'm getting is that larger files don't have a preview generated for them within the MFMailComposerViewController view (I simply get a blue icon with a question mark). Is there a limitation on file sizes that can be attached in order for preview to function correctly? With small files it works as expected, but if I try and attach a pdf with the following properties: Pages: 1 Dimensions: 2414 x 1452 Size: 307 KB the file is generated correctly, but displays the question mark icon. If there is no way around that, can I remove the attachment preview altogether? Many thanks, Bryn

  • touches event handler for UIImageView

    - by madmik3
I am just getting stated with iPhone development and can't seem to find the answer I am looking for what I want to do. • Zend + Pop Up's balloons on Server Problem

    - by LookUp Webmaster
Dear Friends from Stackoverflow, Please help me with a problem that i'm having when uploading my project to the server. I'm using pop up's balloons (http://mckay.cshl.edu/balloons.html) for a project using Zend FW and it works fine on my localhost. (I'm using MAMP on MacOSX) but when I upload the webpage to the server, the text inside the balloons is displayed but the images that form the balloon are not, so somehow the js does not recognize the url to the images (the path it's correct, i've checked several times). The server is an Ubuntu 9.04 virtual machine from rackspace.com, running a LAMP server. I'm using the REWRITE function in Apache, so i guess maybe that's the problem. The rewrite configuration is set up using a .htaccess file with the following content: SetEnv APPLICATION_ENV development Options +FollowSymlinks RewriteEngine ON RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule !.(js|ico|txt|gif|jpg|png|css|html)$ index.php Does anyone knows what the problem might be? Best Regards,

  • UINavigationController (drawRect:)

    - by ludo
Hi, I created an application with a TabBarController, 4 TabBarItems and every TabBarItem have is own NavigationController file (everything created in IB). I'm using the drawRect function to design my navigationBar: @implementation UINavigationBar (customImage) -(void)drawRect:(CGRect)rect { UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"MyImage.png"]; [image drawInRect:CGRectMake(0,0, self.frame.size.width,self.frame.size.height)]; } @end The problem is that the NavigationBar change for every ViewController inside my app, what I want is only draw the NavigationBar for one TabBarItem only and use the default navigationBar for other controller. How to do that? Thanks,

  • An advice for a specific kind of RRDtool graph

Hello, I'm trying to graph some data with RRDtool and I have problems with defining the exact graph command. The kind of graph I want is something like this: http://oss.oetiker.ch/rrdtool/gallery/gate.spamd.week.600.png - the blue graph. I can not "cook up" the definition for creating a graph like the one which is light blue and is on the background. It's a something between a line and an area :) . Any ideas what can I try? • set Image to Button

  • Simple but efficient way to store a series of small changes to an image?

    - by finnw
I have a series of images. Each one is typically (but not always) similar to the previous one, with 3 or 4 small rectangular regions updated. I need to record these changes using a minimum of disk space. The source images are not compressed, but I would like the deltas to be compressed. I need to be able to recreate the images exactly as input (so a lossy video codec is not appropriate.) I am thinking of something along the lines of: Composite the new image with a negative of the old image Save the composited image in any common format that can compress using RLE (probably PNG.) Recreate the second image by compositing the previous image with the delta. Although the images have an alpha channel, I can ignore it for the purposes of this function. Is there an easy-to-implement algorithm or free Java library with this capability?

  • How to negotiate red5 connection parameters for streaming with JAVA

    - by baba
Hi, I have been creating a thin browser client (on java) that sends an RTMP stream to a specified red5 instance. I also use RTMP Researcher to monitor the traffic and events that occur between the client and the server. Here is what I note: There is obviously a map with options that is being exchanged between the red5 instance and the client. You can see it here: (direct link : http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/661/newbitmapimagelb.png ) What I am wondering about is is there a programmatic way to obtain this map in the client side and maybe change some of the parameters or just examine them Edit: I am connecting like this connect ( host, port, app, callback ); . I assume I am sending some default parameters along, because the other connect methods have also an optionsMap as an argument. I was wondering what are the possible values that could be put in such an optionsMap and where to obtain a list of them?

  • Where are my $_FILES? Ajax Uploading

    - by Richard Testani
I've built a form to upload images, and processed with Prototype/PHP. $('image_upload').observe('submit', function() { var params = $H(); params.set('name', $('image_title').value); params.set('from', $('from_who').value); params.set('upload_file', $('upload_file').value); new Ajax.Request('/files/upload_process.php', { method:'post', parameters: params, onSuccess: function(r) { $('uploadbox').update('<img src="/images/interface/thankyou.png" />'); } }) }); The form itself sends the data to the server, but when I try to output print_r($_FILES['upload_file']); nothing appears, not even an empty array. If I output print_r($_POST), the parameters are sent properly, but only the file name of the image. So it seems the files themselves are not being sent along. How do I handle this? Thanks Rich

  • How do I remove (or apply) transparency on a gdk-pixbuf?

    - by Andrew Stacey
I have a c++ program in which a gdk-pixbuf is created. I want to output it as an image, so I call gdk_pixbuf_save_to_stream(pixbuf,stream,type,NULL,&err,NULL). This works fine when "type" is png or tiff, but with jpeg or bmp it just produces a black square. The original pixbuf consists of black-on-transparent (and gdk_pixbuf_get_has_alpha returns true) so I'm guessing that the problem is with the alpha mask. GdkPixbuf has a function to add an alpha channel, but I can't see one that removes it again, or (which might be as good) to invert it. Is there a simple way to get the jpeg and bmp formats to work properly? (I should say that I'm very new to proper programming like this.)

  • Need help on Coda slider tabs to move inside an overflow:hidden div

    - by Reden
I'm not too good at javascript. and hope I can get a bit of help. I'm using Coda Slider 2.0, and have designed it to where the tabs are another slider to the right of the main slider, and each item. Basically like this mootools plugin http://landofcoder.com/demo/mootool/lofslidernews/index2.1.html Problem is the items will not scroll. How do I make the items (or tabs to the right) scroll down as the slider rotates? Otherwise the slider will show the 4th slide but not scroll to the 4th item on the right, but Thanks everyone. Here is the Coda-Slider plugin: // when the DOM is ready... $(document).ready(function () { var $panels = $('#slider .scrollContainer > div'); var $container = $('#slider .scrollContainer'); // if false, we'll float all the panels left and fix the width // of the container var horizontal = true; // float the panels left if we're going horizontal if (horizontal) { $panels.css({ 'float' : 'left', 'position' : 'relative' // IE fix to ensure overflow is hidden }); // calculate a new width for the container (so it holds all panels) $container.css('width', $panels[0].offsetWidth * $panels.length); } // collect the scroll object, at the same time apply the hidden overflow // to remove the default scrollbars that will appear var $scroll = $('#slider .scroll').css('overflow', 'hidden'); // apply our left + right buttons $scroll .before('<img class="scrollButtons left" src="images/scroll_left.png" />') .after('<img class="scrollButtons right" src="images/scroll_right.png" />'); // handle nav selection function selectNav() { $(this) .parents('ul:first') .find('a') .removeClass('selected') .end() .end() .addClass('selected'); } $('#slider .navigation').find('a').click(selectNav); // go find the navigation link that has this target and select the nav function trigger(data) { var el = $('#slider .navigation').find('a[href$="' + data.id + '"]').get(0); selectNav.call(el); } if (window.location.hash) { trigger({ id : window.location.hash.substr(1) }); } else { $('ul.navigation a:first').click(); } // offset is used to move to *exactly* the right place, since I'm using // padding on my example, I need to subtract the amount of padding to // the offset. Try removing this to get a good idea of the effect var offset = parseInt((horizontal ? $container.css('paddingTop') : $container.css('paddingLeft')) || 0) * -1; var scrollOptions = { target: $scroll, // the element that has the overflow // can be a selector which will be relative to the target items: $panels, navigation: '.navigation a', // selectors are NOT relative to document, i.e. make sure they're unique prev: 'img.left', next: 'img.right', // allow the scroll effect to run both directions axis: 'xy', onAfter: trigger, // our final callback offset: offset, // duration of the sliding effect duration: 500, // easing - can be used with the easing plugin: // http://gsgd.co.uk/sandbox/jquery/easing/ easing: 'swing' }; // apply serialScroll to the slider - we chose this plugin because it // supports// the indexed next and previous scroll along with hooking // in to our navigation. $('#slider').serialScroll(scrollOptions); // now apply localScroll to hook any other arbitrary links to trigger // the effect $.localScroll(scrollOptions); // finally, if the URL has a hash, move the slider in to position, // setting the duration to 1 because I don't want it to scroll in the // very first page load. • Quick backup system for large projects

    - by kamziro
I've always backed up all my source codes into .zip files and put it in my usb drive and uploaded to my server somewhere else in the world.. however I only do this once every two weeks, because my project is a little big. Right now my project directories (I have a few of them) contains a hierarchy of c++ files in it, and interspersed with them are .o files which would make backing up take a while if not ignored. What tools exist out there that will let me just back things up efficiently, conveniently and lets me specify which file types to back up (lots of .png, .jpg and some text types in there), and which directories to be ignored (esp. the build dirs)? Or is there any ingenious methods out there that people use?

  • Wrap text around a right-aligned icon?

    - by user246114
Hi, Is it possible to make a small box (which will be a row element in a list for me) with an icon in the upper right corner, and text wrapped around it? Something like: ------------------------------------------------- | Some text here which may wrap around [icon] | | if it were to get too long, but then fit well | | around the icon in the upper right corner? | ------------------------------------------------- I was going to use this as a row in a list, and the user could click the icon in the upper-right to delete the row. I could use either a <div> or a <table>, I'm not sure which will be better?: <div> <p>The text</p> <img src="close.png" align="upper-right"> </div> Thanks
